Bleu Oleander: 's current display-name is "Bleu".
Catrinamonblue Resident: 's current display-name is "Catrinamonblue".
    Bleu Oleander: hiya Cat :)
    Catrinamonblue Resident: Hi Bleu :)
    Bleu Oleander: how r u?
Catrinamonblue Resident: tough question to answer :) it's up and down, waiting to see how things will fall out and trying to gage when I need to act
Bleu Oleander: can be a difficult decision ... when to act
Bleu Oleander: trust that your experience will lead you to the best answer
    Catrinamonblue Resident: trying :)
Bleu Oleander: sometimes the best answer is not necessarily the absolute best ....just the relative best if you know what I mean
Catrinamonblue Resident: yes I do and that is they way things seem to be going, the action I am contemplating is not the best action but there seems little choice
    --BELL--

Bleu Oleander: there was an interesting article in the paper today about daydreaming
    Bleu Oleander: http://www.nytimes.com/2013/06/23/op...f=opinion&_r=0
Catrinamonblue Resident: I am in a major transitional period in my life right now and am trying to remain still and find direction in the soft voices of my heart
Bleu Oleander: In closing, do not daydream about the problems in your life, the evil in the world, the troubles around the next bend. That is what real life is for. Instead, daydream about things that make you smile. No summer workday is complete without a grown person staring at the wall, just laughing.
Bleu Oleander: (conclusion of the article)
Catrinamonblue Resident: I have always daydreamed about the goals I have set myself, a way of visualizing and making them real
Catrinamonblue Resident: Trips to Prince Edward Island, a place I love to go as an exapmle :)
    Bleu Oleander: ah nice
Bleu Oleander: I've never been there ...
Catrinamonblue Resident: smiles... It's a beautiful place to visit I would love to move there some day :)
Bleu Oleander: is it a large island?
Catrinamonblue Resident: no, you can drive from one tip to the other in about 3 hours or so :)
Bleu Oleander: (googling ... looks lovely)
    Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
    Catrinamonblue Resident: http://www.tourismpei.com/index.php3
Catrinamonblue Resident: the main tourism site
    Bleu Oleander: beautiful
Bleu Oleander: could move right into that house by the sea :)
    Catrinamonblue Resident: smiles
Bleu Oleander: are you playing with the Art of Being dream project at all?
Catrinamonblue Resident: no... I haven't had time or energy to put into it :(
    Bleu Oleander: understand
Bleu Oleander: I've been able to remember my dreams lately and am finding some very interesting themes
Catrinamonblue Resident: I'm on a new medication and one of the side effects is strange and vivid dreams :)
    Bleu Oleander: that you remember?
    Catrinamonblue Resident: has been interesting
    Catrinamonblue Resident: yes
    Bleu Oleander: wow
Agatha Macbeth: 's current display-name is "Aggers".
Catrinamonblue Resident: one of them I was very surprised to wake and be in my bed
    Agatha Macbeth: G'day :)
    Bleu Oleander: heya Aggers
    Catrinamonblue Resident: Hi Aggers
Agatha Macbeth: Don't let me interrupt
Bleu Oleander: we were just discussing dreams
    Agatha Macbeth: Ah yes
Agatha Macbeth: Seems a popular thing these days :p
    Bleu Oleander: :P
    Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
Bleu Oleander: speaking of which ... how's your Art of Being project going :P
    Agatha Macbeth: Hmm
Agatha Macbeth: i think I need to see more of what others are doing first
Agatha Macbeth: So i have something to build on
Bleu Oleander: just need to see your dreams :)
    --BELL--

Agatha Macbeth: I can't create stuff out of nothing, so to speak
Bleu Oleander: do you remember your dreams?
Bleu Oleander: sorry chatting right through the pause ... related to the topic this week :)
Agatha Macbeth: Vary rarely, Wollie tells me to write them down :p
Bleu Oleander: yes, keep a recorder by your bed or a notepad
Agatha Macbeth: Unfortunately it takes me ages to wake up properly
Bleu Oleander: some say setting an alarm during the night works ... but then that wouldn't be too good for the sleeping part lol
Agatha Macbeth: I would probably sleep through it!
    Bleu Oleander: haha!
    Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
Bleu Oleander: I have dogs that take care of that part
    Agatha Macbeth smiles
Bleu Oleander: same time every day
Agatha Macbeth: They want feeding I guess?
    Bleu Oleander: exactly
    Agatha Macbeth: Right
Bleu Oleander: probably not for love of my company lol
Agatha Macbeth: I think cats are much the same
    Agatha Macbeth: Animal antics
    Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
    Bleu Oleander: :)
    Agatha Macbeth: ^.^
Bleu Oleander: any thoughts on this weeks topic?
Agatha Macbeth: I think part of me is always off somewhere else anyway
    Agatha Macbeth: What is it?
Bleu Oleander: knowing when to speak and when to listen
    Agatha Macbeth: Hm
Bleu Oleander: transitions and the 9 sec pauses
Agatha Macbeth: I tend to listen more than i speak
    Catrinamonblue Resident: nods
Bleu Oleander: in theory I like to practice same
Agatha Macbeth: I seem to learn more that way :p
Bleu Oleander: I think you can cultivate being a better listener
Agatha Macbeth: I think with me it's the opposite
Agatha Macbeth: I need to cultivate being a better talker!
    Catrinamonblue Resident: smiles me too
    Bleu Oleander: :)
    Agatha Macbeth: :)
Agatha Macbeth: I tend to absorb much but not give much back
Agatha Macbeth: Negatively entropic or something
Catrinamonblue Resident: I was thinking more of transitions this morning rather than when to talk and when to listen, more of life transitions
    Bleu Oleander: say more?
    Agatha Macbeth nods
Catrinamonblue Resident: and how the 9 second stops work into that
Catrinamonblue Resident: a pause to asses I think
Agatha Macbeth ponders pause to asses
Bleu Oleander: do you practice 9 sec pauses?
Bleu Oleander: is that similar to "counting to 10"?
Catrinamonblue Resident: :) not as such I think but I like the idea of a pause to asses
Catrinamonblue Resident: to look at myself
Bleu Oleander: so a thinking pause?
    Agatha Macbeth smiles
Catrinamonblue Resident: and see where I am at and the direction I am facing
Catrinamonblue Resident: yes a thinking pause :)
Agatha Macbeth: Not always easy to know where you're going
Catrinamonblue Resident: a deep breath to settle the emotons
Catrinamonblue Resident: no it's not easy at all especially in large life transitions
    Agatha Macbeth: Right
    Bleu Oleander: :)
Agatha Macbeth: Moving at right angles
Catrinamonblue Resident: smiles... I like that
Agatha Macbeth: AKA 'a sharp deviation'
Catrinamonblue Resident: that's my life right now :)
    --BELL--

Agatha Macbeth: I think the real trick is not to do a 180 and start going backwards
    Catrinamonblue Resident: true :)
    Bleu Oleander: indeed
Agatha Macbeth: But one good thing about PaB is you hear many perspectives
    Catrinamonblue Resident: yes
    Bleu Oleander: yes
Agatha Macbeth: And maybe learn from them
Catrinamonblue Resident: PaB has been wonderful for me in that way, it has been a place to stop and breathe :)
    Agatha Macbeth: Indeed
    Bleu Oleander: nice :)
Agatha Macbeth: And I'm glad we have helped
Catrinamonblue Resident: smiles, it has been a big help
    Bleu Oleander: :D
Agatha Macbeth: Since I've been coming here I've heard so many horror stories i can almost think of me as normal :p
    Bleu Oleander: lol
    Catrinamonblue Resident: nods
Agatha Macbeth: Wonder where Liz is today?
Catrinamonblue Resident: though I sometimes think there really is no such things as "normal" :-)
    Agatha Macbeth: Yeh, true
Agatha Macbeth: I think we all make our own normality
    Bleu Oleander: yes
    Catrinamonblue Resident: yes
Bleu Oleander: seems quiet here the last few sundays
Agatha Macbeth: No GM today I think?
    Catrinamonblue Resident: no
    Bleu Oleander: right
    Agatha Macbeth: OK
Agatha Macbeth: Well sunday is the one day i can be here at this time
    Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
    Bleu Oleander: :)
Agatha Macbeth: The 'round world thing' as Wol calls it
    Agatha Macbeth: Hi folks :)
    Bleu Oleander: hiya Kori
Agatha Macbeth: Well K anyway :)
    Korel Laloix: Heya
    Agatha Macbeth: Osiyo
Agatha Macbeth: Saw Steve come on but not here
    Catrinamonblue Resident: Hi Korel :)
    Korel Laloix smiles...
    Korel Laloix: Morning
Agatha Macbeth: How's our girl today?
    Catrinamonblue Resident: brb
Korel Laloix: Just got back from running.
    Korel Laloix: Cooling down.
    Agatha Macbeth: All sweaty? :p
Bleu Oleander: something I need to do soon :)
Korel Laloix: Very easy to do here, granmda is trying to freeze me to death again..
Bleu Oleander: before it gets too hot
Agatha Macbeth pictures the whole of Pab running down the road
    Bleu Oleander: haha
    Korel Laloix: Sounds lovely
Bleu Oleander: running on our own roads together
    Agatha Macbeth: Yep
Bleu Oleander: maybe can do that with google glass or something like it
    Korel Laloix: And some coffee.
    Agatha Macbeth: Zenny :)
    Korel Laloix: brb
Zen Arado: 's current display-name is "Zen".
    Bleu Oleander: hiya Zen
    Agatha Macbeth: Google glass?
    Zen Arado: Hi all
Agatha Macbeth: Something else they thought up?
    Bleu Oleander: http://www.google.com/glass/start/
Zen Arado: privacy problems with that
Zen Arado: people taking videos of you without your knowing
    Bleu Oleander: privacy problems abound
Bleu Oleander: one could say there is no privacy really
Korel Laloix: Yes, but.... there are reasonable expectations... I like that term
    Zen Arado: hmm yes
Agatha Macbeth: Looks like another great way to waste your time :p
Zen Arado: very nice phrase :)
    --BELL--

szavanna Resident: 's current display-name is "Sunshine".
    Agatha Macbeth: Sunny ♥
    Bleu Oleander: Sunji :)
    Zen Arado: Sunji :)
    szavanna Resident: hi everyone °͜°
Agatha Macbeth: The freezing zulu is in da house!
    Bleu Oleander: lol
Korel Laloix: I can identify with the freezing part.
    Agatha Macbeth: Aww
    szavanna Resident: brrrrrrrr brrrrrrrrr
    Agatha Macbeth: Phone?
    Agatha Macbeth: 'It's for you...'
    szavanna Resident: me?
    Agatha Macbeth: Probably your bank
Korel Laloix: Supposed to be up in the 90s this week.. all week.. finally.
Agatha Macbeth: Good to hear it's not just us then
Bleu Oleander: we are in the 100's
Korel Laloix: I wish.. send it up here please.
Bleu Oleander: would love to :)
Korel Laloix: The only bad part is that when it is hot out, people tend to turn the AC temp way down... so you go from hot to cold, silly.
    Bleu Oleander: yes :)
    szavanna Resident: isn't it strange
    szavanna Resident: hmm
    szavanna Resident: :)
Agatha Macbeth: Is Arizona hotter than Calif or the other way round?
Bleu Oleander: Arizona is hotter than everywhere I think lol
Agatha Macbeth: It's a ways inland of course
    Bleu Oleander: it's a desert
    Agatha Macbeth: Makes a difference
szavanna Resident: did you see Kumare there - I think he was in Arizona
    Bleu Oleander: dry and hot
szavanna Resident: I mean the film
    szavanna Resident: was shot there
Agatha Macbeth: Oh Liz was talking about that
    Bleu Oleander: no I didn't
szavanna Resident: ( I know I am not making sense lol )
    Bleu Oleander: a movie?
    Agatha Macbeth: 'Stop making sense'
szavanna Resident: I connect states to movies
szavanna Resident: Wisconsin - reminds me of Love actually lol
Agatha Macbeth thinks of David Byrne
szavanna Resident: and the 70s show
szavanna Resident: you are in Arizona Bleuji?

Bleu Oleander: about a fake guru?
    szavanna Resident: yes fake guru

    Bleu Oleander: yes in AZ
Agatha Macbeth: Bleuji is hotji :p
szavanna Resident: he went to the yoga studios
    Bleu Oleander: exactly
szavanna Resident: and starting giving fake teachings
    Bleu Oleander fans herself

Bleu Oleander: speaking of fake teachings .... http://www.wisdomofchopra.com/

Bleu Oleander: so how do you know when teachings are real or of value?

    szavanna Resident: click
Bleu Oleander: when you listen how do you know it's something worth listening to?
Catrinamonblue Resident: back :) just catching up and listening
    Agatha Macbeth: Wb
    Zen Arado: wb cat
Agatha Macbeth: Down to the needs of the individual I think
Agatha Macbeth: Whether it resonates or not
Bleu Oleander: so teachings are of value if they agree with what you already believe?
    Agatha Macbeth: Not sure
Bleu Oleander: so we look for teachers that validate what we already know?
Korel Laloix: That seems to be the way a lot of people thing.
    Korel Laloix: think
Zen Arado: they have to fit with them though
Zen Arado: they might be the next step
Bleu Oleander: how do we judge teachers and teachings?
Agatha Macbeth: I always think the point of teachers is to tell us something we *don't* know
Zen Arado: or what you need to let go of old ideas
    Catrinamonblue Resident: nods
Bleu Oleander: but how can we be sure?
    Agatha Macbeth: Guess we can't
Korel Laloix: Sometimes, they teach us more details or indepth understanding vs something new though.
Zen Arado: we can't I guess
    Catrinamonblue Resident: hind sight
Bleu Oleander: that the new teachings are of value or are true in some sense?
Zen Arado: just have to take a chance
    Zen Arado: yeh or hindsight
Bleu Oleander: so choosing is random?
Zen Arado: hindsight is always so much clearer :)
Bleu Oleander: like the website :)
Zen Arado: not random to me
Bleu Oleander: how do you choose?
    --BELL--

Zen Arado: it's as if what I learned before prepares me
Bleu Oleander: so prior teachings lead you to new teachings?
Zen Arado: yes..can be seeing what doesn't work
Zen Arado: what can be discarded
Zen Arado: as well as adopted
Bleu Oleander: if we follow a teachings path, how can we ever learn something different ... if we stay in our "bubbles"?
Catrinamonblue Resident: I like to listen to a variety of opinions, teachings etc, I think I absorb it all and use what I need as I need it.
Zen Arado: is isn't necessarily a straight and narrow psth
Bleu Oleander: but what makes one teaching better than another?
    Catrinamonblue Resident: it's individual
    Bleu Oleander: Sunji's bubble
    Zen Arado: yes Cat
Catrinamonblue Resident: not better or worse
Korel Laloix: When I decided to look at the idea of religions seriously, as opposed to the way I was raised, I was looking very much for something new.
    szavanna Resident: °͜°
Korel Laloix: Looking for something to inform my living.
    Zen Arado: exactly Kori
    Catrinamonblue Resident: nods
Zen Arado: it's as if everthing in our past lives propels us in a certain way
Korel Laloix: And I was looking at first for things that I agreed with, but then I realized how silly that was based on how screwed up my life was.
Korel Laloix: So it was an interesting search.
Zen Arado: we acn't see until we look
Bleu Oleander: how to remain open enough to receive new teachings?
    Zen Arado: can't
Korel Laloix: But do you want to always stay open.....
Zen Arado: maybe you can't but find some way more right than others for you
Korel Laloix: A lot of new ideas are bad ones.
Korel Laloix: Or are old ideas that did not work in teh first place.
Zen Arado: maybe you return tyo old ways
    Zen Arado: having tried others
Bleu Oleander: sometimes the best teachings are things that we don't understand at first
    Zen Arado: yes
    Catrinamonblue Resident: smiles
Bleu Oleander: but how to know?
Zen Arado: maybe it is stopping searching
    Catrinamonblue Resident: sitting and waiting
Zen Arado: rest in what is here and now
Catrinamonblue Resident: see what comes along
Zen Arado: not trying to find something 'better'
    Catrinamonblue Resident: nods
    Zen Arado: hard to express
szavanna Resident: i think its best when we don't try to learn at all
    Zen Arado: heh
    Zen Arado: yes
Korel Laloix: I like to hear new ideas for sure.. one of the reason I come here.
    szavanna Resident: learning happens automatically
Korel Laloix: But there is a limit to that...
    Catrinamonblue Resident: is there?
Bleu Oleander: you can influence learning though
    Bleu Oleander: direct your paths
    Bleu Oleander: to some extent
szavanna Resident: I find that kind of learning to be deeper many times
Korel Laloix: And I have said before, when someone tells you to be open minded it usualy an arogant insult.
Zen Arado: you won't learn what doesn't interest
szavanna Resident: yes thats also important Bleuji I think
szavanna Resident: it all adds up
Zen Arado: and you can't choose that
szavanna Resident: you know I mean ... you can read about south africa .... but it doesn't compare with walking down the streets of Joburg
    Zen Arado: yes
    Catrinamonblue Resident: nods
Bleu Oleander: we learn many things everyday ... some directed some not
    szavanna Resident: yes
Zen Arado: books are only mental maps
Bleu Oleander: everything is mental maps in some sense
    Zen Arado: yes
Zen Arado: or what we overlay on reality
Zen Arado: and then forget they are only maps
Bleu Oleander: books are valid experiences, as physical or virtual experiences
    Zen Arado: yes but past
    szavanna Resident: frozen in time
Zen Arado: and never the real experience
szavanna Resident: as soon as its written down
Bleu Oleander: "only" is not a word I would use for mental maps ... quite amazing really what we can do with our minds
Zen Arado: you can't describe reality
Zen Arado: amazing but still limited
    szavanna Resident minds around ;o)
Bleu Oleander: we can describe our experience with reality
Zen Arado: the description is so much less though
Bleu Oleander: which is our real experience
Bleu Oleander: I don't find it to be
Zen Arado: a very crude approximation in written down sounds
    Zen Arado: words
Bleu Oleander: hmmm not to me
Korel Laloix: Getting chilled, going to go clean up... take care all.
Bleu Oleander: we experience really with our thoughts about it
szavanna Resident: take care Kori °͜°
    Catrinamonblue Resident: bye Korel
    Korel Laloix: ciao
    Bleu Oleander: bye Kori
Agatha Macbeth: Stay warm K ♥
Zen Arado: the word 'tre'' is so much less than the huge living organism though
    Zen Arado: byee Kori
    Zen Arado: tree
Catrinamonblue Resident: but with the word I can see it in my mind
Bleu Oleander: but we need our word tools to think about trees
    Bleu Oleander: yes
Catrinamonblue Resident: the roots sinking down to the depths of the earth
    Zen Arado: yes functionally necessary
Catrinamonblue Resident: the branches reaching to heaven and beyond
Catrinamonblue Resident: the rough bark under my hand
Zen Arado: but all that needs so many more words
Bleu Oleander: well, have to get going all .... thanks for the conversation
    Agatha Macbeth: Bye Bleu
    Catrinamonblue Resident: Bye Bleu :)
Zen Arado: how many to fully describe just one tree?
Bleu Oleander: take care all and have a great day
    Zen Arado: byee Bleu
Agatha Macbeth: Try to keep cool
Zen Arado: I better go try to sort my sound out
Catrinamonblue Resident: words to express yes but not to experience :)
    Agatha Macbeth: Your sound?
    Zen Arado: yes Cat
    szavanna Resident: good luck Zenji
    Agatha Macbeth: No sound?
szavanna Resident: tell me how it goes
szavanna Resident: I am preparing for a show
    --BELL--

szavanna Resident: but I hope I can start making music soon
Zen Arado: working with a midi keyboard and it has done something to my computer sound
    Agatha Macbeth: Uh oh
    Catrinamonblue Resident: oh dear
Zen Arado: too many sound things on my computer
Zen Arado: probably need to reboot
    Zen Arado: only
Agatha Macbeth: Yeh it can get confusing
szavanna Resident: ah sorry throw away the first - this has a better name
    szavanna Resident: °͜°
    Agatha Macbeth: Will do
    Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
szavanna Resident: its gonna be great
    Catrinamonblue Resident: ty
szavanna Resident: take care all °͜°
    szavanna Resident: back to planning
    szavanna Resident: 1pm Egg class
    szavanna Resident: ;D
    Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
    Zen Arado: kk byee all
Catrinamonblue Resident: Bye guys have a great day :)
szavanna Resident: come if you can °͜°
    szavanna Resident: take care °͜°
    Agatha Macbeth waves
    Catrinamonblue Resident: will try
    szavanna Resident: hugs
