The Guardian for this meeting was Mickorod Renard. The comments are by Mickorod Renard.

The meeting started and ended with Yakuzza and Mickorod

    Yakuzza Lethecus: hey mick
    Mickorod Renard: Hiya Yaku
Yakuzza Lethecus: you got a ktm ?
Mickorod Renard: no,,but I have several other bikes
    Mickorod Renard: how bout you?
    Yakuzza Lethecus: i don´t have a motobike
    Mickorod Renard: a.ha
Mickorod Renard: yes,,bikes are a bit addictive
Yakuzza Lethecus: where are you from ?
Mickorod Renard: I dont seem to ride so much these days
    Mickorod Renard: from the UK
Yakuzza Lethecus: ah, what is the top speed there ?
    Mickorod Renard: he he he
    Mickorod Renard: 70mph
Mickorod Renard: but that is where bikes are fun
Mickorod Renard: because you tend to go a lil faster
Mickorod Renard: but you can be selective,,nd do it descretely
Yakuzza Lethecus: i was just thinking because of the ktm pullover
    Mickorod Renard: yea,ell I have a kawasaki ninja 900cc,and a Harley

    Mickorod Renard: 1600
Mickorod Renard: that I use regular
Mickorod Renard: and 2 old bikes
Yakuzza Lethecus: then i don´t wish you a piston jamming
Mickorod Renard: the kawasaki is a sports bike..and the harley a slow chopper type of thing
Mickorod Renard: but for me they have been an escape,,almost meditational
Yakuzza Lethecus: have you read zen and the art of motorcycle maintenance ? :)
Mickorod Renard: no, although I have wanted to for a while
Yakuzza Lethecus: i am also not reading enough
Yakuzza Lethecus: thats what i think about most often
Yakuzza Lethecus: how i can get myself into the right concentrated way to read anything to the end
Mickorod Renard: well I try and read quite a bit
Mickorod Renard: I have regular science journal
    Yakuzza Lethecus: which one ?
Mickorod Renard: and also I read books like,,Neal Stephensons
    Yakuzza Lethecus: the diamond age
    Mickorod Renard: yes..done that one
Mickorod Renard: I am just finnishing his latest
    Mickorod Renard: Anathum
    Mickorod Renard: its very good
Mickorod Renard: I have new scientist
Mickorod Renard: just to keep me ahead of the changes
Yakuzza Lethecus: so ur an engineer ?
Yakuzza Lethecus is just a worker
Mickorod Renard: I think I have read most of stephensons books now
Mickorod Renard: I have done many jobs in my life..but at present am involved in education,,design and technology

A good level of education is so important, but doesnt have to be everything

Mickorod Renard: before it was mostly government work
Yakuzza Lethecus: so u attended college
Mickorod Renard: I work at a college
    Yakuzza Lethecus: high school then
    Mickorod Renard: yes
    Mickorod Renard: its fun
Mickorod Renard: what about you if I may ask?
Yakuzza Lethecus: i was on the realschule after that i attended a school for informationstechnische assistenten and then i was to scared of attending college so i made a practical apprenticeship to become a ,,zerspanungsmechaniker" metal worker
    Mickorod Renard: very nice
    Yakuzza Lethecus: not really
Mickorod Renard: we have some things in comon
Yakuzza Lethecus: i think much about that and why i was too scared and i search for explanations because i wasn´t even to lazy in my view
Mickorod Renard: I was much the same Yaku
Mickorod Renard: its frustrating,,because I now come across alot of succesful people who are clearly not as intelligent as myself. Not that i am that intelligent.
Yakuzza Lethecus: ur using voice sometimes ?
    Mickorod Renard: no,,I shouldnt be
Mickorod Renard: I also ruined my education when I was young
Mickorod Renard: and the cycle carries on as my son is dipping out like I did
Yakuzza Lethecus: dipping out of school ? you mean high school drop out ?
Mickorod Renard: I think he is too proud to fail,,so he is looking at ways of avoiding being tested
Mickorod Renard: yep yaku,,it is most frustrating
Yakuzza Lethecus: i am also scared about beeing tested most of the time
Yakuzza Lethecus: especially when i know that i want something but i feel to stupid
Yakuzza Lethecus: and i really spend more time and in the end i feel so dumb
Mickorod Renard: I think that is a natural feeling..but somehow we must find the strenth,,because otherwise others will take your place

Sometimes philosophy can be dificult for non academics to get into due to lack of vocabulary

Yakuzza Lethecus: so i think much on what in our evironment got influence on our ontogenesis
Yakuzza Lethecus: and make psychologie and philosophy to an hobby
Yakuzza Lethecus: but its hard to get the right contacts when ur just want to listen to them
Mickorod Renard: what would be your ideal wish regarding that?
Yakuzza Lethecus: oh, its complcated but i still look for an ideal
Yakuzza Lethecus: like that i everybody would be trying to say things in an more elaborated way
    Mickorod Renard: true
Yakuzza Lethecus: and be able to reason about everything
Yakuzza Lethecus: for me it´s hard because i never really learned to reason
Mickorod Renard: but i was wondering wheth there are things that you want to try in SL..like philo classes?
    Yakuzza Lethecus: sure
    Yakuzza Lethecus: http://thephilosophyclass.blogspot.com/
    Yakuzza Lethecus: http://users.manchester.edu/Facstaff/SSNaragon/OnlineIntro/Online/Readings-SL.html
Mickorod Renard: I spent perhaps a year at Herman Bergsons philo class
    Mickorod Renard: thanks
    Yakuzza Lethecus: yeah :)
    Yakuzza Lethecus: it is hermans
    Mickorod Renard: yes,,on SL
    Yakuzza Lethecus: the first one
Mickorod Renard: well I enjoyed it very much
Mickorod Renard: but eventualy moved on
Mickorod Renard: but it was a good place to start,,and get into debate in a well structured way
Yakuzza Lethecus: for me it´s even learn to read and find people who are maybe interested in philosophy psychologie
Yakuzza Lethecus: is complicated when i try to understand how our scientific system works
Yakuzza Lethecus: its so overwhelming much
Mickorod Renard: it is for everyone
    Yakuzza Lethecus: kuhn, popper, feyerabend
Yakuzza Lethecus: for example i just looked into a book by af chalmers
Yakuzza Lethecus: what is this thing called science
    Mickorod Renard: oh yes
Mickorod Renard: well,,some of it is complicated
Mickorod Renard: and I never realy understood much
Yakuzza Lethecus: i try to kill the term complicated out of my vocabular
Yakuzza Lethecus: at least out of my thoughts that word is a killer
Mickorod Renard: however, you soon come to realise that most dont know it all either
Yakuzza Lethecus: sure the stuff is complicated but i somehow seem to recall ,,thats complicated" easier then the true semantics
Mickorod Renard: I came to the conclusion that most of it is theoretics,,and nyone can do that regardles of the language.....i became disenchanted in that some debate became nothing more than a play ground for people s eloquent words
Mickorod Renard: dont let it put you off
Mickorod Renard: I am english..but I dont know half the english words that they use in philo
Yakuzza Lethecus: no i enjoy the philosophical perspectives so far
    Mickorod Renard: good
Yakuzza Lethecus: i obviously don´t understand everything
Mickorod Renard: and it grows on you,,without u realising
Mickorod Renard: like a skill in welding techniques
Yakuzza Lethecus: yeah, that implicid learning is what i head for
Yakuzza Lethecus: but there are even some factors preventing me from learning by the way
    Mickorod Renard: yes?
Yakuzza Lethecus: like people even less educated then i am and want my time constantly
Yakuzza Lethecus: and i am not really educated
Mickorod Renard: hey,,I know all about that,,its happening to me all the time too
Yakuzza Lethecus: there is a problem because i can´t even think abstract and talk about what i am reading about
Yakuzza Lethecus: that prevents me even from learning how to talk about educational topics emotionalless
Mickorod Renard: I can understand your frustration
Yakuzza Lethecus: so when i try to talk about freud, vygostky, piaget bandura or erikson i have nobody
Yakuzza Lethecus: its just words related to different stage theories
Mickorod Renard: can you explain more , in how you would like to discuss those topics?
Yakuzza Lethecus: or language who knows about chomsky and skinner
Yakuzza Lethecus: just when i read about that
Yakuzza Lethecus: beeing able to discuss that, because i am really interested in how we develop
Yakuzza Lethecus: how it came that i hated english but then after school i had no problem picking up the language without and efford
Mickorod Renard: well i can tell you of someone here in SL,,in fact in PaB,,who would love to talk to u about them
Yakuzza Lethecus: obviously i still have trouble with the grammar and the terms of the grammar sometimes
Mickorod Renard: your english is superb
Mickorod Renard: english grammar is not so important these days anyway
    Yakuzza Lethecus: hehe :)
Yakuzza Lethecus: you keep telling that ur students ? :)
Mickorod Renard: ok,,you need to get into dialog with Arabella Ella
Mickorod Renard: she has a huge knowledge about what you are asking,,and also she speaks many languages
Mickorod Renard: she is a philosopher too
Mickorod Renard: are you from Germany?
Yakuzza Lethecus: i just send her a friend request
    Yakuzza Lethecus: yes i am
    Mickorod Renard: ok cool
Yakuzza Lethecus: i haven´t seen her on PH so far
    Mickorod Renard: PH?
    Yakuzza Lethecus: philosophy house
Yakuzza Lethecus: she got that in here group list
Yakuzza Lethecus: and on here background image
Mickorod Renard: I see,,well she does visit there,,but she is more often here
Mickorod Renard: the problem with PH ,,in my opinion,,is that it becomes too fragmented in the dialog
Yakuzza Lethecus: you can sit there waiting all day for an interesting discussion
    Mickorod Renard: yes,,that too
Yakuzza Lethecus: i need to take a walk, i sit in front of this damn thing for too long already
Yakuzza Lethecus: nice to talk to you
    Mickorod Renard: ok,,cool he he
    Yakuzza Lethecus: bye!
    Mickorod Renard: bye,,nice chatting
