The Guardian for this meeting was Bruce Mowbray. The comments are by Bruce Mowbray.  Korel, Zon, Aprodite and I positioned ourselves around the fountain  a la feng shui in an attempt to bring more stability to SL.

    Korel Laloix: Heya
Korel Laloix: People come and go already?>
    Zon Kwan: hi guys
Bruce Mowbray: Hello, Mick, Kori, and Zon.
Mickorod Renard: hi guys,,late for dreams c ya
    Korel Laloix: Take care.
    Bruce Mowbray: Bye, Mick.
    Zon Kwan: why so empty
Korel Laloix: Looks like we don't want to be next to each other.
Korel Laloix: I bathed this month... I promise.
Bruce Mowbray: SL seems a bit unstable today. I've poofed twice and claimed the session twice so far.
Korel Laloix: Very laggy recently for me as well.
Korel Laloix: I have not rezzed in m view or a couple of weeks now.
Zon Kwan: we form a harmonious triangle
Bruce Mowbray: I can see you perfectly, Kori.
    Korel Laloix: Fung Shai?
    Bruce Mowbray: ;-)
    Zon Kwan: what's that
Korel Laloix: Or however it is spelled.
    Bruce Mowbray: ;-)))
    Korel Laloix: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Feng_shui
Bruce Mowbray: I see that Boxy and Aph are practicing for the ice sculpture Art as Being project
Zon Kwan: ah feng shui yes
Zon Kwan: if we would sit opposite, energies would contrast
Bruce Mowbray: Feng shui is about energy flow?
Zon Kwan: in triangle energy flows
Bruce Mowbray: so, there is a balance - - when we sit in a triangle?
    Zon Kwan: yes
Bruce Mowbray: hmmmm. . . well, that's good. I need all the balance I can get.
Zon Kwan: if in square, lots of energy but
    Zon Kwan: also conflicting
Korel Laloix: I like balance, but it does not seem attracted to me... frowns
    Zon Kwan: lol
Bruce Mowbray: So, sitting in a triangle (as we are) will reduce the amount of conflicting energies. . .
    Zon Kwan: balance needs imbalance
Korel Laloix: I wish is was that easy.
    Bruce Mowbray: Hmmmm.
Zon Kwan: not to be dead
Korel Laloix: Is that the ying yang thing?
    Zon Kwan: nods
Zon Kwan: there is always a need for someone
Zon Kwan: to rock the boat
Zon Kwan: so it can balance again
Bruce Mowbray decides he will see how well balanced he is today.
Zon Kwan: is this triangle soothing you Bruce ?
Bruce Mowbray: Yes, I needed the triangle today, thanks.
    Bruce Mowbray: Hey, Aph.
    Zon Kwan: aph
    Aphrodite Macbain: (((Bruce)))
Bruce Mowbray watches carefully to see how the balance works out . . . now that we are no longer a triangle.
    Aphrodite Macbain: Hi Zon, Kore;
    Bruce Mowbray: (((Aph)))
    Korel Laloix: Heya
    Zon Kwan: yes.. lets study
Bruce Mowbray: We've been talking about feng shui - - and were a balanced triangle. . .
    Bruce Mowbray: ooops. (Where's Aph?)
Bruce Mowbray: there you are again.
Korel Laloix: If you stand on the fountain, it will still be balanced.
Bruce Mowbray: Perhaps you are noticing that SL is a bit unstable today. . .
Bruce Mowbray: so, were doing feng shui in hopes that SL will become more stable.
    Korel Laloix: It needs balance?
Aphrodite Macbain: it's a little wet
Zon Kwan: well that's interesting. a triangle with a dot in the center

    --BELL--

Korel Laloix: But if you need a colonic, that is the place to sit... s
    Bruce Mowbray: ;-)
Korel Laloix: Well, she was higher up so it was a pyramid.
    Zon Kwan: yes
Aphrodite Macbain: who made that beautiful spire?
Aphrodite Macbain: Looks like a building by Gaudi
Korel Laloix: No, pyramids have four sides right?
Bruce Mowbray: our rectangular canine friend, Boxy.
Aphrodite Macbain looks around for Boxy
Zon Kwan: yes, an incomplete pyramid
Aphrodite Macbain: looks like a spire
Bruce Mowbray: I want to make my ice sculpture in the shape of a human.
Aphrodite Macbain: me too but I don't know how
Zon Kwan: do you feel more energy now Bruce ?
    Korel Laloix: Which human?
Aphrodite Macbain: I wanted one in the shape of Rodin's "Thinker"
Korel Laloix: Will look that up.
Bruce Mowbray: Hmmm. . . well, a bit more, perhaps, but at least whatever energy I have is balanced now.
    Aphrodite Macbain: "reflection".. get it?
Bruce Mowbray: yes, I could easily make a "Thinker" -- but it would be a 3D model in another program. . .
Bruce Mowbray: and cannot be imported into SL.
Zon Kwan: yes rodin has style
    Aphrodite Macbain: http://search.yahoo.com/search?ei=utf-8&fr=ytff1-sunm&p=The%20Thinker%20by%20Rodin&type=
Bruce Mowbray: I'm going to attend Boxy's prim workshop. . .
Aphrodite Macbain: me too - when is it?
Bruce Mowbray: but I' pretty sure that he won't be telling us how to sculpt like Rodin.
Aphrodite Macbain: oh yes Saturday 8AM
Bruce Mowbray: yes, Sat morning, for moi.
Korel Laloix: Found it, think I have seen that one before.
Aphrodite Macbain: I thought if I pasted a Rodin texture onto a prim it might work
Bruce Mowbray: Rodin made several originals of various sizes.
Aphrodite Macbain: yes, many editions from the original plaster caste
Korel Laloix: Never heard of him before... but I recognize the item.
Zon Kwan: same theme in many his statues
Bruce Mowbray: but also in different sizes.
    Aphrodite Macbain: August Rodin
    Bruce Mowbray: Rodin made.
Aphrodite Macbain: He's also know for "The Kiss"
Korel Laloix: Yes, I found the bio.
Bruce Mowbray: I've seen them at the Rodin museum in Paris.
Korel Laloix: I thought that was Klimt.
Korel Laloix: OH, he was just a sculptor.
Aphrodite Macbain: Klimpt did a Kiss too!!
    Zon Kwan: me too
Korel Laloix: Klip was a painter.
    Aphrodite Macbain: yes
    Aphrodite Macbain: common subject
    Korel Laloix: I wonder why?
    Korel Laloix grins
Aphrodite Macbain: my favourite is Brancusi's KISS
Bruce Mowbray: Oh, I love that one, Aph!
    Bruce Mowbray: [`·.] APPLAUSE!! [.·´]
Korel Laloix: I love Gene Simmon's KISS.
    Bruce Mowbray: ha!
    Aphrodite Macbain: http://images.search.yahoo.com/search/images;_ylt=A0oGdbmu28JOtlsA3IJXNyoA?p=image%20of%20the%20kiss%20by%20brancusi&fr2=piv-web
    Aphrodite Macbain: :-P Korel!
Bruce Mowbray: i clicked on the link, but my browser didn't come up.
    Aphrodite Macbain: oh hold on
Zon Kwan: i see photos of filmstars
    Zon Kwan: was that right
    Zon Kwan: go Bruce go
    Zon Kwan: once again
    Zon Kwan: yes
Bruce Mowbray: That's how Blub gets his exercise these days.
    Aphrodite Macbain: http://images.search.yahoo.com/search/images?_adv_prop=image&fr=ytff1-sunm&sz=all&va=the+kiss+brancusi
Bruce Mowbray: My browser finally came up.
Aphrodite Macbain: Did you get it?
Bruce Mowbray: yes. I was already familiar with that one.
    Zon Kwan: very cool :)
Aphrodite Macbain: You have been reading about Pema Chodron Bruce?
Aphrodite Macbain: She has had quite a history
Bruce Mowbray: Well, actually have been reading her writings -- not about her.
    Aphrodite Macbain: Dealing with Uncertainty...
Bruce Mowbray: Yes, her life is a testimony to what she teaches.
    Zon Kwan: how so ?
Aphrodite Macbain: yes. She gave a retreat in October and I saw it on the Internet. So warm and human but so sharp and intelligent
Bruce Mowbray: oh my -- so many things.
Aphrodite Macbain: I believe she has been through 2 or 3 marriages
Zon Kwan: what's the one book by her you would recommend ?
Bruce Mowbray: yes, unfortunate - - I only knew of one husband, but her husband apparently as not faithful.
Bruce Mowbray: The one I have here beside me. .
Bruce Mowbray: is "When Things Fall Apart."

    --BELL--

Aphrodite Macbain: yes and "Comfortable with Uncertainty"
    Bruce Mowbray: http://www.amazon.com/When-Things-Fall-Apart-Difficult/dp/1570623449
Zon Kwan: has she been many years in "business" ?
Aphrodite Macbain smiles at the word "business"
Aphrodite Macbain: as she is a nun
Zon Kwan: all her adult life ?
    Zon Kwan: in nun business
Aphrodite Macbain: But she has been writing and teaching for at least 20 years, don't you think Bruce?
Bruce Mowbray: She's the abbess (?) -- of Gampo Abbey.
Korel Laloix: I seriously looked at becoming a nun for a wile.
Korel Laloix: Went to a vocational retreat at a convent and the like.
    Zon Kwan: me too
Aphrodite Macbain: Yes Korel? What made you want to?
    Korel Laloix: Interesting perspectives.
    Aphrodite Macbain: yes?
Korel Laloix: I still feel sort of a calling.
Aphrodite Macbain: you did too Zon?
Korel Laloix: But feel the time is not right.
Zon Kwan: yes but then i thought its not my path
    Korel Laloix: Hard to describe.
Aphrodite Macbain: There is an attraction to the peacefulness and simplicity of a nun's life
    Aphrodite Macbain: peacefulness
Korel Laloix: I have not ruled it out as part of my future.
Aphrodite Macbain: but perhaps that is just a romantic version
Zon Kwan: its good to be silent when life so requires
Aphrodite Macbain: yes, and to be allowed o be silent. It's easy to do when alone, harder to do in a crowd
Zon Kwan: and then again be in storms to test
    Aphrodite Macbain nods
Korel Laloix: But being a nun is more about service than solitude.
    Zon Kwan: hm
Korel Laloix: At least in the orders I visited.
Aphrodite Macbain: yes- different convents have different purposes
Aphrodite Macbain: different orders of nuns
Aphrodite Macbain: They also have the concept of the sangha - the supportive community
Aphrodite Macbain: within which they serve
Bruce Mowbray: I went to the Convent of Laredo in Kentucky - - during a retreat at Tom Merton's monastery, south of Bardstown.
Zon Kwan: but isn't the main point in being separated from the "normal" busy world ?
Aphrodite Macbain: What was it like Bruce?
Aphrodite Macbain: service isn't always normal
Bruce Mowbray: Actually, I've done three retreats at Gethsemane - - and each was quite different.
Aphrodite Macbain: where is that (Other than in Israel?)
Bruce Mowbray: That is south of Bardstown, Kentucky.
Bruce Mowbray: where Stephen Foster lived.
    Aphrodite Macbain: oh!?
Bruce Mowbray: "My Old Kentucky Home" - and all that.
Bruce Mowbray: I'm going to have to collect myself soon - the library closes in about five minutes.
Aphrodite Macbain: he wrote music while in the convent? Like Leonard Cohen!
Aphrodite Macbain: are you all spread out in pieces Bruce?
Bruce Mowbray: No no no! The convent didn't even exist when he was living, I don't think.
Bruce Mowbray: yes, I'm a bit spread out.
Aphrodite Macbain: oh, he lived in the town
Bruce Mowbray: yeah, he lived in the town. . . but the monastery is a few miles south of there.
Bruce Mowbray nods to the nice librarian.
Bruce Mowbray: who nods back, knowingly.
Aphrodite Macbain: :-) The library closes in 4 minutes?
    Bruce Mowbray: yeppers,....
Bruce Mowbray: It will be easier for you folks to balance when I'm gone, anyway.
    Zon Kwan: lol
    Aphrodite Macbain: Bye
Aphrodite Macbain: Bye! Bruce. Until we meet again
    Zon Kwan: bye b
Bruce Mowbray: so, byeeeeee for now, folks!
Aphrodite Macbain: I'm going too. Must study my Itaaalian!
Zon Kwan: and me to sleep
    Zon Kwan: see ya
    Korel Laloix: Ok.. take care.
    Aphrodite Macbain: Bye
Aphrodite Macbain: Bye! Korel and Zon
    Korel Laloix: Heya
    yux Barbosa: he ya
    yux Barbosa: :)
Korel Laloix: Things were just breaking up here.
    Korel Laloix: Been here before?
