Wol Euler was guardian for this session.

    Wol Euler: morgen, yaku
    Yakuzza Lethecus: guten morgen :)
Yakuzza Lethecus: i hope you slept enough
    Yakuzza Lethecus: stop
    Yakuzza Lethecus: hmm
Wol Euler: not really, I was awake at 7am
Wol Euler: but I'll have a nap later, it should balance out
    Wol Euler: and yourself?
Yakuzza Lethecus: i am awake since 6am didn't sleep that well, but nothing is wrong
Wol Euler: must be the weather today, waking us both
Wol Euler: it's cold and grey here, smells like Autumn
Yakuzza Lethecus: watching a documentary about the spaceshuttlemissions on zdf info in the background
    Wol Euler smiles.
Yakuzza Lethecus: ah, the logger worked yesterday
    Wol Euler: good :)
Wol Euler: even for your session?
    Wol Euler: surely not ...
Yakuzza Lethecus: i think it did
    Wol Euler: hmmmmmm
Wol Euler: I can't imagine how ... since the server was offline for the first half hour of the session. After that, text would get through
Wol Euler: I'll hvae a look

    --BELL--

Yakuzza Lethecus: or is the log finally written to the server at the end of the session ?
Wol Euler: no it is written continually, every few dozen spoken lines. So the chances are almost 100% that something would have been lost
Wol Euler: at least from the quietest person
Yakuzza Lethecus: yes, that was wat sam asked for the other week
    Wol Euler: exactly
Wol Euler: it's almost inevitable that somebody crossed that limit before the server came back online
Wol Euler: but, look and see :) as I will
Yakuzza Lethecus: i already watched but didn´t compare if they are 100% the same
Yakuzza Lethecus: so there can still be the issue
Wol Euler: mmhmm, you'd have to check against your chatlog, or Bruce's
Wol Euler: whoever was here first

    --BELL--

Yakuzza Lethecus: i found no difference maybe the server was running but cms wasn´t started yet since the server worked at the end of the session
Wol Euler: how strange. well, good :)
    Yakuzza Lethecus: good morning steve
Wol Euler: hello stevie, you are up late or very early
    stevenaia Michinaga: Gretings
Wol Euler points to an empty cushion. You've met Barry Obama before, I think?
stevenaia Michinaga: grank to much last night and went to be early, so I am up (very)early
    Wol Euler: awwwww
stevenaia Michinaga: no, good, no hangover :)
    Yakuzza Lethecus: :)
Wol Euler: lucky! or had enough water to counteract it
stevenaia Michinaga: am in vacation in Cape Cod
    Wol Euler: lovely!
Wol Euler: where exactly? (we can take it out of the log if you want)
stevenaia Michinaga: long day of play and swimming here
    Wol Euler smiles.
stevenaia Michinaga: Harwich, off to Provincetown for the day today, w/ Spouse's college roomate she found on FB after 35 years.. a good find :)
    Wol Euler: nice
    stevenaia Michinaga: thx
stevenaia Michinaga: how was this evening here?
Wol Euler: 1pm? was a good session I think
Yakuzza Lethecus: some technical issues since the server was down for a while
Yakuzza Lethecus: so we were just wondering that the log is complete
stevenaia Michinaga: aww, where is the server... anywhere?
Yakuzza Lethecus: in new jersey ?
Wol Euler: in outer space somewhere :)
    Wol Euler: or that :)
stevenaia Michinaga: strange there should be power issues
Wol Euler: I'm looking at satellite images of Cape Cod on google maps as we speak. I think I would have understood the world very differently had this been available when I was a child.
stevenaia Michinaga: does not speak well for whoever server it is
    Wol Euler: eh :)
Wol Euler: shit happens, even in the Cloud
Wol Euler: it's just vaporous shit :)
    stevenaia Michinaga: nods
stevenaia Michinaga: yes, Google maps is wonderful, in fact you can see my son walking from behind my house in the street view of my house
    Wol Euler: wow
    stevenaia Michinaga: spookie
Wol Euler: and my mother taking out the garbage :)
    stevenaia Michinaga: lol
    Yakuzza Lethecus: :)
Wol Euler: she says that's what she was doing
Yakuzza Lethecus: at least they did the anonymisation well
    Wol Euler: mmhmm
stevenaia Michinaga: nods, but we know
    Wol Euler: yep
Wol Euler: it's a fascinating toy
Yakuzza Lethecus: can´t speak for ,,ur" pictures but it was a big issue when a lot of ppl complained about being on pictures in unfortunate positions and google fixed it then

    --BELL--

stevenaia Michinaga: when my friend in china told me where she was, boom, I was right there
    Wol Euler nods.
    stevenaia Michinaga: magic
Wol Euler: and it's all free (for certain values of "free")
Wol Euler: I think that is what would most astonish people 50 years ago
stevenaia Michinaga: unless you were in the military
    Wol Euler: mmhmm
Wol Euler: but that is defintely not-free :)
Wol Euler: huge payment of time and risk :)
stevenaia Michinaga: and so quickly to the public
stevenaia Michinaga: speaking of internet (and PaB) magic, I jsut received a RL pic of [redacted]'s wedding
    Wol Euler: cool
stevenaia Michinaga: I wish them well
    Yakuzza Lethecus: [redacted] ?
    stevenaia Michinaga: nods
Yakuzza Lethecus: didn´t know, with them well too, exciting news
stevenaia Michinaga: perhaps you should make that one anonymous for the log, may not be public
Wol Euler: yes, best to do that. I don't know that they had made it public
    stevenaia Michinaga: nods
stevenaia Michinaga: PaB brings happiness to two of our greater family
    Wol Euler smiles.
stevenaia Michinaga: I think Raffi was saying nice things about your voice sessions the other day Yak

    --BELL--

stevenaia Michinaga: didn;t wnat you miss that :)
Yakuzza Lethecus: we had a nice conversation last week
    Wol Euler smiles.
    Yakuzza Lethecus: thx for telling
stevenaia Michinaga: nice when she has the time t stop by
    stevenaia Michinaga: waves to Korel
Yakuzza Lethecus: i still wanted to check how problematic it is to send ,,leberwurst" to the us
    Wol Euler: hello korel
    Korel Laloix: Heya
    Yakuzza Lethecus: hey korel
Wol Euler: it would be impossible (illegal) to send it to canada. No meat imports allowed
Wol Euler: that was established at the time of the BSE infections and is still in effect
Korel Laloix: The US is more worried about Hoof and Mouth Disease.
Korel Laloix: But you can get that here.
Yakuzza Lethecus: with write it the other way around :)
Korel Laloix: I mean the leberwurst.. nto the disease... smiles
    Yakuzza Lethecus: Maul und Klauenseuche
    Korel Laloix: OH OK.
stevenaia Michinaga: and not worried enough about GM plants and animals
Korel Laloix: I find GM stuff not worrisome.. just creapy.
    Korel Laloix: brb.. coffee
Wol Euler: sure, but what you buy there was made from American cattle
stevenaia Michinaga: would jsut like to know what I;m eating
    Wol Euler: agreed
Wol Euler: there is so much disinformation and omission and outright lying
stevenaia Michinaga: if it's so good for you, let them label it :)
Wol Euler: I assume as a matter of course that the food industry lies to me all the time
Yakuzza Lethecus is still watching zdf info and that´s the subject there :P
    Yakuzza Lethecus: faulty food advertisments
Korel Laloix: Back.. actually the German meat place in lawton actually has a lot of European produced products.
Korel Laloix: Rather on the expensive side, but they do have some great stuff. THey have the leber stuff there.
Korel Laloix: A lot of people do not realize that there are stadndards as to how much of a foood product can be insects and the like.
Wol Euler: actually, now that you mention that, there were European delis in Toronto as well. I don't know where they got their stuff from
    Wol Euler: mmhmm
Yakuzza Lethecus: like spinach with 5% mouseparts ?
    Wol Euler: exactly
    stevenaia Michinaga: 5%?
Wol Euler: well, perhaps only 4
stevenaia Michinaga: feel better about my spinach now
    Wol Euler nods.
Wol Euler: "as well you should! everything is perfectly ok! no risks at all! just buy more!"
    Korel Laloix: http://www.fda.gov/ICECI/ComplianceM.../ucm074606.htm
    Wol Euler nods vigorously
    Korel Laloix: For corn meal.
stevenaia Michinaga: but enough fly into my mouth
stevenaia Michinaga: but I don;t let rats crawl in there
Wol Euler: so corn meal is legal as long as it contains less than one rodent turd per 50 grammes.
Wol Euler: that is very encouraging.
    Korel Laloix: lol
    Wol Euler: rule 4
stevenaia Michinaga: can;t wait till breakfast
Korel Laloix: Speaking of breakfast... brb
    Wol Euler: :)
stevenaia Michinaga: nice to see people riding the NDR

    --BELL--

Korel Laloix: Yummy... Smores poptarts with peanut butter.... yumm.
Korel Laloix: Works with the Hawaiin coffee nicely.... smiles
Wol Euler: that sounds like a healthy breakfast. All the food groups covered.
stevenaia Michinaga: I understand peanut butter has similar parts allowed
Wol Euler: I've sure everything does, steve.
Korel Laloix: I am far more worried about the poptarts than the peanutbetter.
    stevenaia Michinaga: it's all protien
Korel Laloix: I am sure poptarts are the tommalles of the patry world.
    Korel Laloix: pastry
stevenaia Michinaga: but don;t they ;last forever, like twinkies
    Korel Laloix: Probably.
Yakuzza Lethecus learned about the existence of twinky´s in a movie called zombieland :P
Korel Laloix: OK... need to get ready... half marathon this morning, then picking up my new bike, then camping over the weekend..
    Wol Euler: yay :)
Korel Laloix: Go to the UK and try them fried.
Wol Euler: good luck, have fun
stevenaia Michinaga: enjoy, thanls for joining us
    Korel Laloix: Thanks..
    Korel Laloix: ciao
Yakuzza Lethecus: have a good marathon korel :)
Korel Laloix: Have a great weekend all.
    Korel Laloix: Half marathon.
    Korel Laloix: ciao
stevenaia Michinaga: :) pop tarts only give you so much energy
Yakuzza Lethecus: the whole industry on sportsfood is an interesting subject too, even my dad had already bought powerbars and alike
    Yakuzza Lethecus: hello theo
    stevenaia Michinaga: hi Theo
Theo Finney: good morning to all
    Theo Finney: guten morgen
stevenaia Michinaga: Theo speaks German, thought I;d invite him over
Theo Finney: ty, i was a bit surprised
Theo Finney: i rode the onerail
stevenaia Michinaga: you two can explain the details :)
Theo Finney: and just was looking around
    Wol Euler: hello theo
Wol Euler: I'll give you a notecard which tells the basics about us
    stevenaia Michinaga: thanks Wol
Wol Euler: this is a meditation group called Play as Being, we gather here 4x daily to talk about practices and matters arising
Wol Euler: and sometimes just to chat, like today :)
    Theo Finney: nice idea
stevenaia Michinaga: I've seen that chair, it;s aking its rounds
    Wol Euler: mmhmm
Wol Euler: it's copyable now, if you want one
    stevenaia Michinaga: *making
    stevenaia Michinaga: ty
Wol Euler: so, theo, that notecard tells the basics, as I said; the rest is on our website
    Wol Euler: http://wiki.playasbeing.org/
Yakuzza Lethecus sneaks out, have a good weekend everyone
Wol Euler: bye yaku, take care
Theo Finney: ty, i just read this notecard
Wol Euler: we record these sessions and publish them on the web so absent members can read what was said
stevenaia Michinaga: bye Yak , good seeing oyu
Theo Finney: fast (not understanding all, lol)
Wol Euler: may we have your permisson to include your SL name and your comments in the published log?
    Theo Finney: yes, offcourse
    Wol Euler: thank you :)
Theo Finney: i am allways interested in projects like this
    stevenaia Michinaga: :)
Theo Finney: but i have no online schedule
stevenaia Michinaga: our topic and attendees are varied, you are welcome to return anytime
Theo Finney: so its often a onetime visit

    --BELL--

    Theo Finney: du sprichst deutsch?
Wol Euler: that#s ok, Theo, no commitment necessary. Many people just come by to listen once in a while
    stevenaia Michinaga: sorry, crash
    Wol Euler: wb steve
    Wol Euler: no worries
Theo Finney: dito, immerhin habe ich 3 jahre in bad cannstadt gelebt
    Theo Finney: wb stevenaia
    stevenaia Michinaga: thx
Theo Finney: ok, back to english
Theo Finney: in sl i live since years in a nice little community
Theo Finney: but sl changes, less creatives and quit places like here
    Wol Euler nods.
stevenaia Michinaga: wonders how much longer this reality wil last
Wol Euler: it's a valid question, and one that worries me a great deal
Theo Finney: you have discussions about your rl "being"?
Wol Euler: hard to say :) we meditate in RL so that comes into it
Wol Euler: but on the whole we tend not to
Theo Finney: i am beginning to understand
stevenaia Michinaga: aol , the place I left for SL many years ago , is no longer accessible on my MAC
Wol Euler: as most of SL tends not to talk about RL
Theo Finney: sl is my first chat experience, i never used other platforms before
Wol Euler: well it's a good place to start
stevenaia Michinaga: but being anywhere 5 years can be a lifetime
Wol Euler: but it spoils you for most other places
Theo Finney: and i like it as second (!) life
Wol Euler: the kind of friendliness and helpfulness that you find here is unusual, special to SL
    stevenaia Michinaga: compared to where?
Theo Finney: time is limited and i try to left some time for the rl friends
Wol Euler: to games, for example
Wol Euler: in most games that I know, newcomers are treated like dirt instead of helped
stevenaia Michinaga: awww yes, some look at SL as a game
Wol Euler: also in some talk forums
Theo Finney: ok, i dont know online games
Theo Finney: so i have no experience
    Bertram Jacobus: hi folks :-)
stevenaia Michinaga: my favorite like from SL was, I think from zen, talking to someone... If you want abuse, you need to go the the philosophy forum
    stevenaia Michinaga: *line
Bertram Jacobus: tz tz tz ... ;o)

    --BELL--

Theo Finney: i dont understand this "90 sec of silence"
Wol Euler: it means "please be silent for 90 seconds" :)
Theo Finney: i have to read your rules
    stevenaia Michinaga: hi Bert
    Wol Euler: a mini-meditation
Bertram Jacobus: hmmm - its a mean of this "researching life" i guess ... ;-)
    Theo Finney: oh sorry
Wol Euler: and a chance to slow down the conversation, to cool off and think again
Wol Euler: it's an expanded version of the 9 second meditation :)
stevenaia Michinaga: change perspective, if only for a moment
    Wol Euler nods.
Bertram Jacobus: i think, this here explains it very good as well : WHAT IS PLAY AS BEING ? Play as Being is a group of people exploring reality. We use our own life as a laboratory. It's a thought experiment to see what is left if we put down what we have. Can we form ideas about what Being could be, and play with those in our day-to-day life? What happens when we do? We believe the best way to find out is to just give it a try.
Theo Finney: most avas are preparing the lunch, when not typing, lol
    Wol Euler: :)
stevenaia Michinaga: it takes away from nothing and adds quite a bit
Bertram Jacobus: hehe. nicely said steve ! :-)
Bertram Jacobus: better : written ;-)
Wol Euler: the idea is to start at the end: rather than thinking that we start out knowing nothing and work towards becoming enlightened, assume that we are already enlightened
Wol Euler: if we were fully enlightened, our minds would be completely clear
Bertram Jacobus: in tibet that is called the dzogchen path wol
Wol Euler: we could meditate anywhere, any time
Bertram Jacobus: or more simple : dzogchen
Wol Euler: the nine second meditation takes that idea and brings it into eveyrday life
Wol Euler: Pema (founder) describes it as a 1% time tax
Wol Euler: every 15 minutes, stop for 9 seconds.
    Theo Finney: a nice idea
Wol Euler: take a deep breath, look around, get back to where and what you are
Theo Finney: is this related to zen buddhism?
Wol Euler: it turns meditation from a special event, that needs clothes and a cushion and a bell and incense
Wol Euler: into a tool that you always have with you, and can use anywhere any time
Wol Euler: there is a lot of buddhism in it, yes
Wol Euler: but only because they expressed this idea most clearly
Bertram Jacobus: i think, pema tries very much not to prefere any systems theo
Wol Euler: most of us are not buddhists
Wol Euler: the group itself is not religious at all
stevenaia Michinaga: but it does come up in conversation from time to time
    Wol Euler: sure
Theo Finney: i often use a short break in rl discussions, most of the partners dont understand
Bertram Jacobus: yes. but i liked the openness of this group from the very first time i met the people here - appreciate that really much ! ...
stevenaia Michinaga: as does "time" and "reality"
stevenaia Michinaga: which few religions have "claimed"
Theo Finney: in sl a break in discussion is mostly not a really break, it is used for sorting some in rl
Bertram Jacobus: i think, here people may understand when you make such pauses theo - at least when you may explain it now and then ...
Wol Euler: that depends on the people and the place .)
    Bertram Jacobus: agree wol
    Bertram Jacobus: bah - chatlag
Bertram Jacobus: normally, i try to follow the chats and to be present ...
Theo Finney: my best friend in sl was playing allways, while working, lol
Bertram Jacobus: except i write an afk and put my avatar on away or something like that - give a sign i mean - like that ... ;-)
Theo Finney: i have a special place, where i sit down at our beach, when beeing afk
    Wol Euler nods.
Theo Finney: so the friends know this status
    stevenaia Michinaga: subtle, Bert
Theo Finney: haha, good idea bertram
    Wol Euler: hehehhehe
Bertram Jacobus: hehe - lol and ty :-)
Wol Euler: my dears, I hate to leave but I must, the local shops will close in half an hour and I am still wearing my pyjamas
Wol Euler: please continue to chat, and enjoy the weekend
stevenaia Michinaga: hehe, I have to make breakfast soon'
Theo Finney: have a nice weekend, wol
Theo Finney: and nice to meeet you
Bertram Jacobus: wow - our shops are open till 8 pm , even midnight some foodstores ! :-)
    Wol Euler: likewise, theo
stevenaia Michinaga: nice to meet you Theo, hope to see you again
Wol Euler: we meet here 1am 7am 1pm 7pm every day, though the 1am are often unattended
Wol Euler: our downtown stores are too, bert, but not the Tante Emma store on the corner
Wol Euler: I try to support them
Theo Finney: last week i was in Aachen, there you can pass the netherland border for shopping on sundays
stevenaia Michinaga: gtsy Wol and Bertam

    --BELL--

Bertram Jacobus: ty steven - have a nice day ! and a nice breakfast ... :-)
    Theo Finney: enjoy your day
Bertram Jacobus: hehe - theo ? wo wohnst du denn ? :-)
Theo Finney: so macht sl eigentlich spass
Bertram Jacobus: *lach* - "okaaaay" - "sehr gut" !
Bertram Jacobus: dann macht diese *grmblfz%&$* bahn doch manchmal zumindest sinn (!) ... :o)
Theo Finney: die bahn, mein ich
Theo Finney: ok, dann muss eine lärmschutzwand her
Theo Finney: die heisst state of mind
    Theo Finney: so ähnlich
Theo Finney: oje jetzt muss ich wieder rechnen
Bertram Jacobus: wieso ? was rechnen ? ich meinte 10 und 4 UNSERER zeit (!) ;-)
Bertram Jacobus: "natürlich" - auch nicht immer rechnen will *g* ...
Theo Finney: ok, dann nicht rechnen
Bertram Jacobus: hehe - nein :-)
Bertram Jacobus: ah ja - stimmt ja : betrifft ja ganz sl ! lol
Bertram Jacobus: wart ihr denn schon seit 10,11 uhr hier heute ?! :-)
    Theo Finney: weiss nicht

    --BELL--

Bertram Jacobus: ah. schon beantwortet :-)
    Bertram Jacobus: hehe. hervorragend
