    Bruce Mowbray: Hi, Kori.

    Korel Laloix: Heya

Korel Laloix: What you up to today?

Bruce Mowbray: Well, lots of things, actually.

Bruce Mowbray: I just watched two folks from France get thrown about by the train -- when it de-railed.

Bruce Mowbray: took some photos of it too.

    Korel Laloix: When was this?

Korel Laloix: I hope you mean this train, not a RL one.

Bruce Mowbray: I told them to be patient and get back on the train that threw them, and they did.

Bruce Mowbray: Yes, the Non-dual railroad.

Bruce Mowbray: Just before you arrived.

Korel Laloix: Very neighborly of you.

Bruce Mowbray: Perhaps I can upload one of the pix...

    9-1-2012 4-01-11 PM.png

    Korel Laloix: Might be fun.

Korel Laloix: I bet they would be interested.

Bruce Mowbray: I have two of them (pix)  -- am uploading them now.

Bruce Mowbray: How often is one right there when a train wreck happens?

    Korel Laloix: Fun.

Korel Laloix: Never seen a train wreck.. but a few other wrecks.

Bruce Mowbray: They are gone now, I think.

    Korel Laloix: Understandable.

    Korel Laloix: Fun idea though.

    BELL

Korel Laloix: I was supposed to be heading off camping but the people I am going with pushed it back a day.

Bruce Mowbray: So, going camping tomorrow?

Korel Laloix: That is the plan now.

Korel Laloix: And going to miss Tuesday classes...

Bruce Mowbray: Cool! I love camping.

Korel Laloix: So will get a good couple of days out of it.

Korel Laloix: Just not by myself this time.

Bruce Mowbray: A good Labor Day thing to do.

Korel Laloix: Which is good and bad.

Bruce Mowbray: I especially like camping alone.

Bruce Mowbray: I used to go off into the forest around my house and pitch my tent back there where the deer live.

    Bruce Mowbray: Hello, Eliza!

    Korel Laloix: Heya

    Bruce Mowbray: Hello, San!

    Eliza Madrigal: hallow

    Korel Laloix: Lovely threads Eliza.

    Santoshima: hello!

Eliza Madrigal: why thanks... have been melloria-ing

Bruce Mowbray: Had you arrived a few minutes earlier, you could have enjoyed watching the train wreck with me.

Korel Laloix: The pictures are nice.

    Eliza Madrigal: oh darn...

Eliza Madrigal: Oh Korel, you are fancy today too, lovely

Eliza Madrigal: so these pictures are from eye witness accounts, Bruce?

Korel Laloix: Just something I threw on... lol

    Eliza Madrigal: :)

Bruce Mowbray looks for Melioria apparel....

Korel Laloix: Bruce is an ambulance chaser.

    Eliza Madrigal: :)

    Santoshima: b r b

Eliza Madrigal: so visitors were riding and came off the rails?

Bruce Mowbray: These two very nice folks from France arrived. . .

Bruce Mowbray: and decided to ride the train.  They had not boarded yet.

Bruce Mowbray: and then the train flipped every which way...

Bruce Mowbray: and I ran over to photograph it.

    9-1-2012 4-01-34 PM.png

Eliza Madrigal: did they stay, or were they startled/shocked?

Bruce Mowbray: No, we all had a good laugh, though.

    Eliza Madrigal: :)

Bruce Mowbray: Then they got back on and rode it around the sim.

    Eliza Madrigal: oh great

Eliza Madrigal: did it fix itself?

Bruce Mowbray: Yes, once they got out of its way.

Eliza Madrigal: wow like that metaphor :)

Bruce Mowbray: The Non-dual railroad seems to have a thing about running over avi's.

    Eliza Madrigal: lol

Bruce Mowbray: (preferring NOT to do that, of course).

Bruce Mowbray: something about its being "solid," I suspect.

    Eliza Madrigal: programmed ahimsa

Bruce Mowbray: Perhaps "do no harm" has its limits.

Bruce Mowbray: So, how was everything in Melioria today?

Bruce Mowbray: Did you go to the Tristram Shandy discussion?

Eliza Madrigal: was lovely... didn't attend the discussion but asked Aldo for a bit more of a tour...

Eliza Madrigal: Aph had given a lovely one and Aldo took me with Kire (though she was having trouble and in an alt) to a few secret places

    Eliza Madrigal: :)

Bruce Mowbray: Aldo loves to give tours.

Eliza Madrigal: he's *great* at it

Korel Laloix: I was supposed to give a AL historical tour sometime.

    Korel Laloix: Did one.

    Korel Laloix: SL

Eliza Madrigal: would like that too Korel

Korel Laloix: Just let me know.. smiles

Eliza Madrigal: OK... would prob need to be a weekend? due to work/school?

Korel Laloix: Just need about half an hour.

    Eliza Madrigal: really? wow, okay....

    Eliza Madrigal: (brb - apologies)

    Bruce Mowbray: np, Eliza.

Bruce Mowbray: I also need to brb .... for a sec

    Bruce Mowbray: [back]

    Bruce Mowbray: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ahimsa

Bruce Mowbray: "Ahimsa means kindness and non-violence towards all living things including animals; it respects living beings as a unity, the belief that all living things are connected."

    Bruce Mowbray: Hello, Dermatek.

    Dermatek: Hi there.

Bruce Mowbray: Please be seated on a cushion and join us if you wish.

Bruce Mowbray: I do need to ask your permission to post anything you might say in chat into our wiki.

    Eliza Madrigal: (back)

    Dermatek: You have my permission.

    Eliza Madrigal: Hi Erlik

    Bruce Mowbray: TY, Derm.

    Dermatek: Hey there.

Bruce Mowbray: I will give you a NC with a bit of info about the Play as Being group -- our sessions, etc.

Dermatek: I feel a bit sick though. Am I allowed to observe for a while?

Eliza Madrigal waves hello to Zon

    Zon Kwan: eliza :)

    Zon Kwan: hi all

Eliza Madrigal: sure Erlik, of course

    Dermatek: Hi

    Bruce Mowbray: Hello, Zon.

Bruce Mowbray: You can stay as long as you wish, Derm.

Dermatek: Thanks. Glad to hear that.

Bruce Mowbray: That poster behind San and Kori is of a train wreck that happened here a few minutes ago.

Dermatek: I'm curious but I have aches all over my body.

    Bruce Mowbray: Oh dear!

Zon Kwan: in RL ? an accident

Eliza Madrigal: sorry to hear that.... I'm struggling a little too, in fact will be napping soon, and a friend had an awful back ache... SL is pretty great in allowing us some range even in 'conditions' :)

    Santoshima: *

    Bruce Mowbray: Hello, again, Golden.

Eliza Madrigal: Hi Golden and reivilo

    Golden Aura: Hi everyone

    Bruce Mowbray: and friend (???)

    reivilo: greetings all

    Golden Aura: No. . he's a slave. . not a friend

    9-1-2012 4-39-47 PM.jpg

Eliza Madrigal: Can your slave be our friend?

Golden Aura: He is permitted to talk in open chat

Bruce Mowbray: I know Golden has been here before. . . but, reivilo, may we have your permission to post anything you say in chat into our on-line wiki?

Golden Aura: The slave has been here before too

Bruce Mowbray: ty, Golden -- and also reivilo.

    9-1-2012 4-40-57 PM.jpg

Eliza Madrigal: sorry to pop away so quickly ... but thanks Bruce

    Bruce Mowbray: Be well, Eliza!

    Zon Kwan: bye eliza

    Santoshima: bye eliza

    Golden Aura: Bye Eliza

Eliza Madrigal: (daughter just woke and telling me an alarming tale and then it is nap time :)

    Dermatek: Fare thee well

    Eliza Madrigal waves

Bruce Mowbray: Eliza is SUCH an attentive mother, in RL.

Bruce Mowbray: So, let's see: train wreck, camping, Melioria, slave reivilo, back aches, . . . what else?

Bruce Mowbray: Just an average day at the Pabber Pond?

    BELL

Golden Aura: I have a question Bruce

Bruce Mowbray: sure -- go ahead, please.

    Bruce Mowbray listens.

Golden Aura: Who did the landscape design for this sim? i am remodeling my garden and I could do with some advice

Bruce Mowbray: A fellow named Storm.

    Golden Aura nods

    Golden Aura: I've met him

Bruce Mowbray: Storm did almost all of the landscaping here.

    Golden Aura: Ok..thanks

Bruce Mowbray: He is quite friendly and I'm sure would be happy to help you.

    Santoshima: {slips out ... trees call}

Golden Aura: Yes..I got the impression that he would be helpful

Bruce Mowbray: Bye for now, San!

    Bruce Mowbray: Storm Nordwind

    Golden Aura nods

Bruce Mowbray: He also built the Non-Dual Railroad. . .

Bruce Mowbray: . . . whose train just wrecked a few minutes ago, actually.

Golden Aura: Yes..he pointed it out to me when i spoke with him a while back

    Bruce Mowbray: Yes.

Bruce Mowbray: It is a great tour of the whole sim.

Bruce Mowbray: I'd advice wearing the head phones.

Golden Aura: Yes..I did the tour too

Headphones for NDR tour: Welcome to the NDR tour.

As you travel on the train, you'll get messages like this telling you about the NDR and what's around you.

Stay on the train for four complete circuits of the sim to get all messages!

Bruce Mowbray: I've been in Play as Being a couple of years, but I still learned a lot by going on the tour....

Bruce Mowbray: from before when I came times.

Bruce Mowbray: The Kira Dome (one of the stops on the train's route) still has our exhibits from the last Art as Being show.

Bruce Mowbray: They will be changing soon, though.

Bruce Mowbray: The last show had the theme "Art as Being in Motion" -- and the exhibits are pretty amazing, especially if you're into building in SL.

    Alfred Kelberry: hi :)

    Bruce Mowbray: Hey, Boxy!

Alfred Kelberry: ah, erlik the anarchist - hello :)

boxy's nose: Bruce appreciates Boxy's nose

    Bruce Mowbray: You've been introduced?

Alfred Kelberry: poor rei. he's a bit uncomfortable.

    Dermatek: Ahoy me matey!

Bruce Mowbray: I think he enjoys it, though.

Alfred Kelberry: yes, I've had a fortunate coincidence to meet this gentleman

    Bruce Mowbray: Hmmmm.

Bruce Mowbray looks for gas mask , , , , feeling some mask envy at the moment.

Alfred Kelberry: so, erlik. there's a question waiting for you: what are the fine advantages of anarchism vs capitalism? :)

Bruce Mowbray: I thought those were synonyms.

    BELL

    Bruce Mowbray: afk --- brb

    Bruce Mowbray: [back]

    Korel Laloix: brb

Alfred Kelberry: Bruce, no. i think anarchism fights against any hegemony, including of capital

    Bruce Mowbray: Bye, Kori!

Bruce Mowbray: ahhhh, well of course...

Alfred Kelberry: goldy could correct me, if i'm wrong, i think

Golden Aura: Correct you about what alfred?

Bruce Mowbray: Was thinking about rampant un-regulated capitalism and a sort of anarchy . . . not so much about the ideology of anarchism.

Alfred Kelberry: goldy, the above statement on anarchism

Golden Aura: let me take a look...my mind was elsewhere

Bruce Mowbray: "anarchism fights against any hegemony, including of capital"

Alfred Kelberry: bruce, ah. i get your point.

Golden Aura: Hm..I don't know what anarchism is...I suspect 'not very well thought through'

Alfred Kelberry: goldy, you thought of more ways to make rei's existence less comfortable? :)

Alfred Kelberry: ok, then erlik... you're the man to answer this :)

Bruce Mowbray: I predict that no matter how pure the "anarchy" intends to be, there will emerge from such a society some forms of ethics and self-regulation.

Dermatek: Anarchism is a kind of ideology that oppose the domination.

    Bruce Mowbray listens carefully.

Golden Aura: Don't worry about the slave..

    Bruce Mowbray: ;-)

Dermatek: Forgive me by the way I'm no native talker and feel a bit sick at the moment.

Alfred Kelberry: erlik, oh... you get better soon!

Dermatek: In what means do you compare capitalism and anarchism?

boxy's nose: Bruce softly kisses boxy's nose

Dermatek: I have an awful ache on my stomach

Bruce Mowbray: I was referring to unregulated rampant capitalism.

    Dermatek: Was writhing in pain.

Bruce Mowbray: "I want and deserve to own everything!" -- sort of like that.

Alfred Kelberry: i suggest a visit to a clinic

    Bruce Mowbray: Oh dear.

Bruce Mowbray: Perhaps you should get to a clinic -- preferably one in RL rather than SL, Derm.

Alfred Kelberry: Bruce, i think it's as much an ethics problem as it is of unregulation

Bruce Mowbray: Either that or a few good slugs of gin.

Dermatek: It depends actually you may refer to anarchist capitalism or anarcho communism

    Dermatek: or else

Bruce Mowbray: Yes, it is definitely an ethics problem, I agree.

Bruce Mowbray: and I also notice that ethics tends to emerge from the specific groups --

    Bruce Mowbray: given time.

Dermatek: Anarchism stand alone is a kind of adjective

    Alfred Kelberry: ah

    Bruce Mowbray: ah ah

Dermatek: Opposing the force may it be government or any institution

Alfred Kelberry: ok, what kind of anarchism do you endorse?

Dermatek: You can oppose government intervention in means of finance

Dermatek: I'm actually not a quite anarchist for it needs to be revised in my humble opinion.

Dermatek: Classical anarchism creates a kind of dominance unintentionally.

Dermatek: I'm more of an anarchist communist though.

Dermatek: Anarchism and communism opposes each other at some means.

Alfred Kelberry: ok, so it's a commune without central government?

Bruce Mowbray: I find that anarchist communism (which I also identify with, in an idealistic sense) is best achieved in hermitry.

    Dermatek: Sure Bruce.

Bruce Mowbray: So, I am a hermit.

Dermatek: It's a tendency which I bear as well, though I'm not a hermit.

Bruce Mowbray: and welcome visitors to the hermitage, of course, and on communistic terms, of course.

Dermatek: Yeah tries to abolish central government.

Bruce Mowbray: I cannot be a FREE hermit unless and until I free everyone else.

Alfred Kelberry: i imagine as a hermit, you can ascribe to any formation :)

Bruce Mowbray: sure -- and that form changes as the conditions require.

    Bruce Mowbray: or persuade.

Dermatek: Where are you all from btw?

    Bruce Mowbray: southern Ohio, USA.

Dermatek: Bruce think you're from States

Bruce Mowbray: (unfortunately, yes). . .

    Dermatek: checked your profile

reivilo: i think Erik that the communo anarchist are on the decline and they do any more the weight on the capitalism liberal

Alfred Kelberry: Bruce, where would you want to be? :)

Bruce Mowbray: In the Highlands of Scotland !!

Bruce Mowbray: Or perhaps New Zealand.

    Alfred Kelberry: ah, lovely

Dermatek: there used to be some autonoms in the States as far as I know.

    BELL

Alfred Kelberry: no, kiwis got scary bugs

Bruce Mowbray: also earthquakes in kiwi-land.

Alfred Kelberry: rei, i think you're correct. neoliberals took over the minds of old and young these days.

    reivilo: thank you

Dermatek: Yeah in Turkey they're pretty strong.

Bruce Mowbray: What do you do when you need to use the bathroom, rei?

Alfred Kelberry: any "social" alternative is seen as an evil commie agenda

reivilo: i ask before my Mistress the allow to use it

Alfred Kelberry: he asks for permission or... just goes, i think :)

Dermatek: Anarchists and Marxists try to revise all their teaching even opposing old teachings.

Bruce Mowbray: My typist was raised in the 50's to fear those evil commies. . . but never really bought into all that propaganda

Dermatek: All the famous anarchists we know today have been accused of supporting some kind of oppressing force.

Alfred Kelberry: erlik, which is good. it has to adapt to new social realities.

Dermatek: Bakunin Kropotkin Emma Goldman etc.

    Dermatek: I do totally agree.

Alfred Kelberry: they even adapt the bible :)

    Bruce Mowbray: doesn't everyone?

reivilo: these ideology are completely obsolete in our world actually one by one die

Dermatek: They need to draw their emphasis out from human nature.

Dermatek: Ideologies must be revised or modified.

    Alfred Kelberry: yes, like theories

reivilo: never they must be to be dropped

Bruce Mowbray: Hmmmm. ponders human nature. . . . Seems as many would say that the land is rising as that it sinks.

Dermatek: Putting emphasis on human nature makes capitalism and anarchism same in nature.

Bruce Mowbray: Yeah, I'm more of an existentialist on that score...

Bruce Mowbray: No fate. No deities. No human nature.

Bruce Mowbray: and, Condemned to be free. (J.P. Sartre) YAYYYYY!

Alfred Kelberry: how come? isn't anarchism opposed to any authority?

Bruce Mowbray: hey folks, I need to scoot off and grab some din din now.

Alfred Kelberry: eat well, Bruce :)

Bruce Mowbray: May you all be well (especially you, Derm) and FREE!

Golden Aura: Ok..bye Bruce..thanks for leading another fascinating session

reivilo: look all ideologies as that they do much bad in the world war , famine , desolation

Dermatek: You submit your free will totally to a government

(  For some, probably, 'reason,' the PaB autologger didn't send me the log, so I grabbed it from my typist's hard drive -- and therefore missed whatever chats may have transpired following my departure.  Sorry, but there have been worse train wrecks.    - - -  Bruce  )

    Added the following morning:

I finally received the entire log several hours after I'd left the 13:00 session (at 14:20).   Apparently, I was registered with the logger as having claimed several hours  . . . , even through the 19:00 session, then?   Now pondering anarchy and train wrecks, again.

Continuing with the above chat - -

reivilo Resident: look all ideologies as that they do much bad in the world war , famine , desolation
Alfred Kelberry: not ideologies, but their implementations
Alfred Kelberry: social democracy works pretty well in germany
    Alfred Kelberry: goldy, what's fgc?
    Golden Aura: Financial Godesses Castle
    Alfred Kelberry: ah
    Golden Aura grins
Alfred Kelberry: how does it work?
    Dermatek Resident: religion too reivilo
Golden Aura: I and my fellow Mistresses work there. We recruit slaves who come to visit.
Dermatek Resident: It's not about ideologies it's about common sense.
    Alfred Kelberry: neat
Alfred Kelberry: goldy, how many slaves you got?
Golden Aura: I currently have two regulars and a handful of other occasional ones
    Alfred Kelberry: busy you :)
    Golden Aura: ?
Alfred Kelberry: lots of slaves to handle
    Golden Aura: Oh. yes.
Golden Aura: They don't all tend to be online at once though
Dermatek Resident: Do you ever sell them?
Golden Aura: But I have them well trained so if there is more than one they are not a problem top manage
    --BELL--
    Alfred Kelberry: good :)
Golden Aura: No, I don't sell them....i've never had a good enough offer
    Golden Aura laughs
Dermatek Resident: How much do you charge?
    Golden Aura: For dominating them?
Dermatek Resident: No for labouring for anything actually.
Alfred Kelberry: ha, how do you like this magazine? :) http://i.imgur.com/Z8WpH.jpg
Golden Aura: I do not "charge" as such...they undergo a training programme..
Golden Aura: they pay me tributes during the course of their training
Alfred Kelberry: which is basically the same as charging :)
Golden Aura laughs ar alfred's link
Dermatek Resident: I've met a guy on irc years ago wanted to be my slave.
Dermatek Resident: Though I'm no master.
    Golden Aura smiles
Alfred Kelberry: btw, the magazine is legit and called "where": http://wherela.com/oc/new-in-oc/digital-issue/
Golden Aura: It takes a particular type of personality to be a dominant
Golden Aura: Yes, alfred, i guessed
    Alfred Kelberry: :)
Golden Aura: well actually I didnt need to guess....the name is written in small rint in the top left corner
Alfred Kelberry: very observant of you :)
Golden Aura: Anarchism is essentially a "passive" activity....well suitted to sumissive personality types
    Golden Aura grins
    Dermatek Resident: Nope
Dermatek Resident: You submit your free will totally to a governemnt
Dermatek Resident: pacisifist sometimes that's true
Golden Aura: Anarchy by its very nature is always in oppostion to something...it is therefore always secondary to that which it opposes
Dermatek Resident: I served for Turkish army which I think was totally submissive
Dermatek Resident: You may control the power or divide it though
Golden Aura: Anarchy does not control
Golden Aura: Control requires discipline and organisation
Golden Aura: These are not characteristics of anarchy
Dermatek Resident: anarchy tries to rebuild not control
    Golden Aura: Anarchy only destroys
Dermatek Resident: actually it differs from school to school
Dermatek Resident: nope it is capitalism that destroys
Alfred Kelberry: you always balance the roles. dominant to your subordinates, submissive to your superiors.
Dermatek Resident: some schools of anarchism however idealistic it may seem
Dermatek Resident: tries to abolish binary oppositions
    Dermatek Resident: like feminism
Golden Aura: Feminism is for the weak
    Golden Aura laughs
Dermatek Resident: I don't think so for instance
Dermatek Resident: You assume some roles for genders
    Golden Aura: So is aanrchism
Dermatek Resident: like seeing women weak
    Dermatek Resident: and males strong
Alfred Kelberry: which is true physiologically :)
    Golden Aura smiles
Golden Aura: There are some exceptions
Dermatek Resident: To some extend it does but
Dermatek Resident: it's not just about physics
    Dermatek Resident: emotionally as well
Dermatek Resident: You gotta be fragile if your a woman for instance
    Golden Aura laughs heartily
Dermatek Resident: feminism goes against these kinds of identifications
Dermatek Resident: Look at her and him =)
Golden Aura: Feminism is for those who lack confidence in their own power
    --BELL--
Dermatek Resident: Nope they go against social norms
Golden Aura: and so is anarchism
    Dermatek Resident: Yeah true
Golden Aura: they are both ideologies of the untermensch
Dermatek Resident: Why should it be
Dermatek Resident: for me we all are slaves
Dermatek Resident: and there exists unseen masters
Golden Aura: That is proper slave-talk
    Golden Aura laughs
Dermatek Resident: we submit our true will
Alfred Kelberry: erlik: yes, to an extent
Dermatek Resident: The best way to make someone slave is to make him or her believe that they're free
Alfred Kelberry: many of us are slaves to banking system :)
Dermatek Resident: That what capitalism does
Dermatek Resident: freedom of buying an iphone instead of samsung
    Golden Aura laughs
Dermatek Resident: We're free to go everywhere
    Dermatek Resident: do anything maybe
Golden Aura: You are simply conforming that the majority of people have a slave mentality...i agree entirely
Dermatek Resident: we do choose true but who makes the choices up
    Golden Aura: confirming
Dermatek Resident: yeah actually that what puzzles post modern thinkers
Golden Aura: Post modern "thinkers" are a bunch of charlatans
Dermatek Resident: Why do you think so?
    Dermatek Resident: comparing to what?
Golden Aura: Compared with a dog
Alfred Kelberry: i like puppies :)
Dermatek Resident: cannot say anything about that comparing someone usual and a postmodern thinker to a dog is the same for me
    Dermatek Resident: Me either.
Golden Aura: There is no need to compare them with anything...they talk nonsense
    Dermatek Resident: For instance?
Golden Aura: Take any staement you like
Dermatek Resident: How do you generalize them?
    Dermatek Resident: In what means?
    Golden Aura sighs
Alfred Kelberry: i think goldy is displeased that slave ownership is still not legalized :)
    Dermatek Resident: They're not identical
    Dermatek Resident: Lol
    Dermatek Resident: Yeah
Golden Aura: I recently threw away a whole bunch of books by Barthes, Derrida, Baudrillard and Foucault...
Golden Aura: they were only fit for the garbage
    Dermatek Resident: And
Dermatek Resident: You just generalize not giving a spesific explaination
Golden Aura: There is no explaining drivel
Dermatek Resident: Unless you give an example I cannot say anything.
    Golden Aura shrugs
Dermatek Resident: But I find it a bit illogical to call all postmodern thinkers bullshit.
Dermatek Resident: They're not the same, they have various fields etc
Alfred Kelberry: erlik, what postmodern thinkers do you like?
Golden Aura: It's all invented to give it a kind of academic respectibility
Dermatek Resident: postmodernism? thats a matter of discussion I do dislike some of the mas well
Dermatek Resident: I even dislike the word postmodern
    Golden Aura snickers
Dermatek Resident: there used to be a software named postmodern essay generator
Alfred Kelberry: let's call it postmortem :)
Dermatek Resident: A guy sends an generated essay from there to a respected magazine
    Dermatek Resident: which they publish
Dermatek Resident: open to the criticsm but what postmodern reading emphasizes is not the work but what you create with them
Dermatek Resident: It's a bit hard for me to put these in words for I'm no native speaker
    --BELL--
Alfred Kelberry: i think you're doing wonderfully
Golden Aura: Me too..I'm very impressed with your grasp of English
