Pema Pera: Nice to be back in the US, for a change :)
Pema Pera: in Princeton, right now
Korel Laloix: Wehre is that?
Korel Laloix: Where have you been?
Pema Pera: right in the middle of New Jersey, it's where I work
Korel Laloix: OH OK.. never been that far in the US.
Pema Pera: I was traveling, again for my work, to many places this summer: Europe, California, Japan
Korel Laloix: that far north
Korel Laloix: Where in Europe?
Pema Pera: I live in New York; it's about an hour by train to Europe
Korel Laloix: I loved my time in Munich and Cambridge
Pema Pera: I was in Holland and in Denmark
Korel Laloix: Oh Ok.. sounds cold but lovely.
Pema Pera: oh, you picked two very nice cities!
Korel Laloix: Well, I really had no choice for Munich... it was that or not exchange program.
Pema Pera: did you like the place?
Korel Laloix: And so happened, that course took a three week exchange to Cambrige.
Korel Laloix: Loved it.
Korel Laloix: For all the wrong reasons though.
Pema Pera: what time of year were you there?
Pema Pera: and what were the wrong reasons? :)
Korel Laloix: Fall term.
Korel Laloix: Well, I did not learn much about pschology.
Pema Pera: ah, did you overlap with the beer festivities?
Korel Laloix: Spent way to much of my time partying and trying new cigaret brands.
Korel Laloix: Yes.. was there for Octoberfest.
Pema Pera: well, perhaps you learned a different kind of psychology :-)
Korel Laloix: For sure... lol
Korel Laloix: Great memories that make me cringe..
Pema Pera: hehehe
Korel Laloix: I was a bit of a novelty.. so essentially got passed around alot...
Pema Pera: if Wol were here, at this point she would raise her eye brows . . .
Korel Laloix: But really did enjoy the people and place ad food and drinks.

Pema Pera: is that how she does that?
Korel Laloix: I think so.
Korel Laloix: I am sure will when she reads the log.

Korel Laloix: I actauly learned a bit more in Cambridge though.
Korel Laloix: The people from Munich where really just looking for free English lessons I think.

Pema Pera: my first foreign trip, as part of my studies, was to Cambridge -- I went there by bicycle
Pema Pera: from Holland (though I crossed the North Sea by night boat)
Pema Pera: by bicycle to and from the boat, on both sides
Pema Pera: about a hundred miles in total, I guess
Korel Laloix: Sounds fun.
Pema Pera: it was!
Korel Laloix: It was very odd though in Cambs though.. a lot of people oblivious to the history around them.
Pema Pera: except that on Sunday mornings everything was closed in England, even the restaurants, so it was very hard to find a place for breakfast . . .
Pema Pera: that's amazing, there is so much history!
Korel Laloix: It is European history so I don't appreciably care. But even I found it interesting.
Pema Pera: It's one of the oldest universities, I think
Korel Laloix: Probably.
Pema Pera: I'm claiming the log -- I thought Alfred would be here at this session?
Korel Laloix: It was nice I have to say.
Korel Laloix: Not sure.
Pema Pera: he can take it over if/when he comes later
Korel Laloix: OK.

Korel Laloix: I had a chance to do another semester abroad.. but would have actually cost me bit of money... certain provisions of my schoarships... and it would have extended my program by a semester.
Korel Laloix: So I declined.
Korel Laloix: ooopss sorry.
Pema Pera: that's a pity, that you didn't get that chance -- but I'm glad you had a good time as it was!
Pema Pera: I have to run, there is a seminar I have to go to.
Pema Pera: I'm at my work place.
Korel Laloix: OH OK.
Korel Laloix: Me as well.
