The Guardian for this meeting was Bruce Mowbray. The comments are by Bruce Mowbray.

Folks came, rested, chatted, and then moved on to both SL and RL parties.  Everyone seemed glad to have this brief respite, soothing music, and the relaxed cogeniality of friends.

szavanna Resident: sent an IM to Stormy also .... but hasn't heard back yet
Eliza Madrigal: especially if they are taking place in places others don't have LMs to
Bruce Mowbray: Sun is gearing her classes to our Art as Being exhibits.
Eliza Madrigal: it is a wonderful idea :)
Bruce Mowbray: but we'll be meeting in an off-sim sandbox.

    --BELL--

Bruce Mowbray listens - but doesn't want to hold Sun back from her party.
arabella Ella: bye Sun nice to c u
Bruce Mowbray: Bye for now, Sun!
    szavanna Resident: ( waves quietly ❤ )
arabella Ella: how are you Bruce?
Bruce Mowbray: Pretty good, thanks. I was getting frustrated trying to learn a computer programming language, so it was good to take a break.
    arabella Ella: owwwww
arabella Ella: does one need lots of patience for that skill?
Bruce Mowbray: Dern that Microsoft, anyway!
    arabella Ella smiles
arabella Ella: do you really need to learn the computer language?
Bruce Mowbray: I bought their Visual Basic 6 program in 1999 for $200. . . and followed all the rules...
    arabella Ella: mmmm
Bruce Mowbray: but they've changed their operating system (Windows 7) so that it no longer allows VB 6 to run.
    arabella Ella: oh no!
Bruce Mowbray: So.......I'm having to learn Visual Basic 10.
arabella Ella: i still use Vista
Bruce Mowbray: and it's a whole new ballgame.
    Bruce Mowbray: Vista!
    Bruce Mowbray: Oh dear!
    arabella Ella: that's not fair!
Bruce Mowbray: Vista was the biggest mistake MS ever made.
arabella Ella: but ... what's wrong with Vista?
    Bruce Mowbray: everything!
    arabella Ella giggles
arabella Ella does not think so ... it works for me
Bruce Mowbray: I used it on a couple of computers, and got SOOOOO frustrated with it.
    arabella Ella: he he
Bruce Mowbray: I'm happy for you, then, and do stay with it if you like it.
Bruce Mowbray: The only problem is that when new applications come out, they might not run on Vista - or on earlier platforms.
arabella Ella: we'll see as one often has to upgrade regardless of what one uses
    Bruce Mowbray: yeah.
arabella Ella: it is often a forced choice
Bruce Mowbray: In the world of computers nothing stands still.
    arabella Ella: how true!
Bruce Mowbray: Got to give all those computer science grads something to do, you know.
Bruce Mowbray: My nephew is one of them.
arabella Ella: nice touch the piano music here tonight
    arabella Ella: he he
Bruce Mowbray: Glad you like it!
arabella Ella: yes they keep busy don't they the geeks et al
Bruce Mowbray: Sun gave me the music.
    arabella Ella: lovely
    arabella Ella: and so relaxing
    Bruce Mowbray: Yes.
arabella Ella: i'm feeling guilty as i need to get some stuff done in RL and i don't like to leave you here all alone!
    Bruce Mowbray: NO no no!
arabella Ella: and it is quite late here
    arabella Ella: 10.38pm
Bruce Mowbray: PLEASE go and do what you need to do, ara!
Bruce Mowbray: with my best wishes!
arabella Ella: you are one of the kindest persons i have ever met Bruce
    Bruce Mowbray: omg.
    Bruce Mowbray blushes.
    arabella Ella: you are serious
Bruce Mowbray: of course, please do what you need to do, ara.
    arabella Ella: thanks
Bruce Mowbray: And have a wonderful evening.
arabella Ella: then regretfully i must be off but great to c u briefly here and thanks for the lovely piano music!
Bruce Mowbray: kk. Bye for now!
arabella Ella: makes a nice change for the boom boom boom one hears most places!
    arabella Ella: bye for now!
    Bruce Mowbray: ;-)
    Bruce Mowbray: ♥
    Bruce Mowbray: Heya, Qt!
    Qt Core: Hi Bruce
    Bruce Mowbray: ;-)

    --BELL--

Bruce Mowbray: and how are you this evening, Qt?
Qt Core: fearing a stressful Christmas
    Bruce Mowbray: Oh dear.
Bruce Mowbray: I do know what you mean.
Bruce Mowbray: but mine will be anything but stressful.
Qt Core: would like to go to sleep tonight and awake on the 27th to back to work
    Bruce Mowbray: Yes,....
Bruce Mowbray: I once thought I'd like to skip everything between November and January.
Bruce Mowbray: Now, I'm just fine with it. . . but also not involved.
Qt Core: but look at you today ;-) very Christmassy
Bruce Mowbray: except for going to SL parties and sending out RL cards.
Bruce Mowbray: Yes, Bruce is into it -- but his typist is not.
Bruce Mowbray: Bruce even sent out the RL cards this year (and last, also).
Qt Core: btw i never celebrated New Years (if not for the concert from Vienna and the traditional food)
Bruce Mowbray: I love New Years Eve.
Bruce Mowbray: That is my typist's conception day, actually!
Qt Core: well, then there is a reason
Bruce Mowbray: (born on September 30th).
    Bruce Mowbray: Yes!
    Bruce Mowbray: new beginnings!
Bruce Mowbray: Isn't this piano music nice ? -- relaxing....
Qt Core: maybe too much ;-)
Bruce Mowbray: Ha ha! Putting you to sleep?
    Qt Core: if only
    Bruce Mowbray: ;-)
Bruce Mowbray: Well, I hope you'll find some peace in the season, somewhere.
Bruce Mowbray: I have evolved some strategies for escaping the stress.
Bruce Mowbray: One of these is letting everyone know that if they want to give me gifts, they should give to their favorite charities instead...
Bruce Mowbray: and in my name, if they want to do that.
Bruce Mowbray: and after a few years, I learned what their charities were...
Qt Core: in the night, the moment you put down the book you are reading as you feel you are falling asleep
Bruce Mowbray: and my gifts to them became gifts to those charities.
    Bruce Mowbray: ;-)
    Qt Core: hi Steve
    stevenaia Michinaga: waves
    Bruce Mowbray: Heya, Steve!
    stevenaia Michinaga: topic?
    Bruce Mowbray: Too late, Steve.....
Bruce Mowbray: we've just been relaxing....
    stevenaia Michinaga: :)
Bruce Mowbray: Several folks have come and gone -- on their way to parties....
stevenaia Michinaga: yes, I didn't realize how late in the afternoon it was
    Bruce Mowbray: ;-)
    Mickorod Renard: Hi Folks
    Bruce Mowbray: Heya, Mick!
    Qt Core: Hi Mick
    stevenaia Michinaga: Hi Mick
Mickorod Renard: how are you all?
Qt Core: one comes here to evade rl parties and you find even more here
    Bruce Mowbray: ;-)
Bruce Mowbray: Time will heal it all.
stevenaia Michinaga: have RL party at neighbors tomorrow
    Mickorod Renard: nice
    Bruce Mowbray: Oh -- nice!
Bruce Mowbray: I have no parties in RL. . .
Bruce Mowbray: Bruce does all the celebrating for both of us.
stevenaia Michinaga: other than that, just the traditional Chinese food and a movie on Tuesday
    Bruce Mowbray: ;-)
Bruce Mowbray: My typist loves to build a fire in the wood burner, then curl up with a good book and some mulled wine...
Mickorod Renard: I don't know what I have,,some party I guess , here at home..but I am looking forward to some peace and quiet
Bruce Mowbray: and his loyal dog at his feet.
Bruce Mowbray: Yes. I gave up "expectations of others" for Christmas!

    --BELL--

Mickorod Renard: I think Ara is here

    Bruce Mowbray: Quiet and cozy.
    arabella Ella: nice!

    --BELL--

Mickorod Renard: I know I am desperate for something to fill the void
Bruce Mowbray: This would do it!
    Bruce Mowbray: http://dragonintuitive.com/oneworld/
    arabella Ella: thanks!
Bruce Mowbray: It would be great to get some new blood in the group, too!
Bruce Mowbray: It's really a fine group.
Mickorod Renard: I wonder what its like,,can you elaborate at all Bruce?
Bruce Mowbray: Yes, I can. Just a sec, please...
    arabella Ella listens
Bruce Mowbray: ‘One World, Many Paths’. Here, Dragon Intuitive’s Travis holds spirituality classes as the avatar ‘Seth Haalan’. It is an opportunity for interactive discussion on various spirituality topics with Seth and other wonderful teachers.
Bruce Mowbray: "There is something deeper behind all the magickal and metaphysical teachings in spiritual traditions and philosophies. Our vision is that by bringing people of diverse but sympathetic views together, these deeper truths can emerge and become more clearly evident to all involved."
Bruce Mowbray: "Spiritual support for all seekers. Some places segregate peoples presence in Second Life, but furriness welcome here, neko, humans, everyone. Well, except griefers. Come in peace and you will be allowed to remain in peace. If what anyone would offer here is truth, truth doesn’t need to attack anything or anyone, thus the group name ‘One World, Many Paths’. We aren’t about supporting comfortable lies here. It’s the understanding that we are about."
    Bruce Mowbray: http://dragonintuitive.com/oneworld/
    arabella Ella: nice thanks Bruce!
    Mickorod Renard: that's lovely Bruce
    Bruce Mowbray: Thank you all!
Mickorod Renard: thank you so much

    arabella Ella: Hiya Zen
    Mickorod Renard: hi Zen

    arabella Ella: lots of rain?
Mickorod Renard: its ok here,,although the river is high
    Zen Arado: all year too
    Zen Arado: nobody asks why
    arabella Ella: he he
Qt Core: well, at least now we know the Maya weren't involved ;-)
Mickorod Renard: I put it down to the weather
    Mickorod Renard: :))
Zen Arado: maybe we should think about global warming more
arabella Ella: for every end there is a new beginning
arabella Ella: let us just hope that the beginning will be better than that which ended
arabella Ella: at least on a positive note the days now start to get longer and warmer weather is not too far off
Mickorod Renard: water is special,,but also very powerful
Zen Arado: they has summer floods too in England
Zen Arado: seems like every time I watched the news it was about floods
arabella Ella: is it very cold where you are Zen?
Qt Core: around here rivers are treated so bad that every time it seriously rains we get destruction and deaths
arabella Ella: and you Qt ... very cold too?
Zen Arado: now it is quite mild at the moment
    Zen Arado: around 10 degrees
arabella Ella: here it is 13 now but very cold
Qt Core: 2/ celsius in late mornings
    Qt Core: 2 or 3
arabella Ella: strong north easterly wind with sea looking like crazy

    --BELL--

Zen Arado: my iPhone says 12 degrees
arabella Ella: that is terrible Qt!
Qt Core: not really, it is just winter :-)
Mickorod Renard: i have to go folks,,take care
    arabella Ella: bye Mick
Zen Arado: in Canada it could get to minus 40 degrees
    Zen Arado: by Mick
arabella Ella: i keep on counting the days to summer
arabella Ella: i was in Austria once and it was minus 20 and i felt i nearly died
Zen Arado: you have to dress for the weather
arabella Ella: our cold is humid
    arabella Ella: so feels colder
Zen Arado: it's the same here
Zen Arado: it is very damp in Ireland
    arabella Ella: yes
Zen Arado: it makes you feel hotter in the summer to
    arabella Ella: exactly!
arabella Ella: as you said Zen we all need to do something about global warming cos it is crazy!
Zen Arado: its the persistent rain that annoys me the most
Zen Arado: it has rained all day for three days this week
Zen Arado: but I prefer that to snow
arabella Ella: look on the bright side - that is why your countryside is so often lovely and green
arabella Ella: maybe not in winter
    Zen Arado: who needs green?
    Zen Arado: :-)
arabella Ella: ours is green in winter and dry in summer
    arabella Ella: green is pretty
arabella Ella: restful on the eyes
Zen Arado: We don't get to try any other colours here
    Zen Arado: :-)
    arabella Ella smiles
Zen Arado: just 40 shades of green
    arabella Ella giggles
arabella Ella: i must go finish off some RL stuff before it is too late

stevenaia Michinaga: speaking of which, dinner is in progress, I must be going
Qt Core: well only three days to Christmas, in many families cooking has already started ;-)
    Zen Arado: bye Steve
    Qt Core: bye steve, enjoy
    Zen Arado: nice outfit :-)
Zen Arado: do you enjoy Christmas Qt?
Qt Core: a little less every year
Qt Core: for several reasons we don't go anymore to the big family gathering
Zen Arado: I get bored or some reason
Qt Core: and then the "you should enjoy it and be happy" is starting to get on my nerves
Zen Arado: yes that annoys me too
Zen Arado: you have to have a Christmas spirit :-)

    --BELL--

Qt Core: the idea that i used to enjoy it is the most upsetting
Zen Arado: I liked it when I was a kid
Zen Arado: maybe we have to use Taoism and to go with the flow of it
Qt Core: i really don't remember how it went before i was 10 or 11
Zen Arado: I remember getting nice presents
Qt Core: i remember only a few, never gave many never expected many ;-)
Zen Arado: they were pretty simple things like little train sets that ran on clockwork
Zen Arado: just went round and round a little track
    Zen Arado: :-)
Qt Core: i dearly remember some Lego Technics ;-)
Zen Arado: I remember a Meccano set
Zen Arado: I don't think I ever made anything much with it
    Zen Arado: I better go
Zen Arado: we will try and get through Christmas :-)
    Qt Core: same here, bye
    Zen Arado: byee Qt
