The Guardian for this meeting was Eliza Madrigal. The comments are by Eliza Madrigal.

    Eliza Madrigal: Hi Zen :)
    Zen Arado: Hi Eliza :)
Eliza Madrigal: quiet time so far, nice to see you
Zen Arado: it is surprisingly quiet today
Eliza Madrigal: was a full weekend :)
Zen Arado: nice to see you too
Zen Arado: yes, everyone is tired now
    Eliza Madrigal: he he

Zen Arado: Saturday was busy for me
Zen Arado: if I get asked to be DJ for an hour it usually turns into two or 3 hours
Eliza Madrigal: yes... once avies trickle in it is hard to stop...
Eliza Madrigal: with each new arrival a new party begins
Zen Arado: you don't like to say goodbye when there is a big crowd
Zen Arado: and people have just arrived
Eliza Madrigal nods... and you are a polite host

Zen Arado: Duth asked me about this meditation meeting
    Eliza Madrigal: oh?
Eliza Madrigal: the one you are planning?
Zen Arado: San is going to do the Wednesday slot
    Eliza Madrigal: yes, that's great
Zen Arado: so best to let her get on with it
Eliza Madrigal: and Druth is taking on every other Friday evening - but I keep having issues with the calendar... I try to enter things and then they disappear, hah

Eliza Madrigal: Well, what about sometimes at Riddle's or Lucinda's session?
Eliza Madrigal: It would be a temporary number of weeks?
Zen Arado: yes but I need to be able to set up a stream easily
Zen Arado: I only want to play Jon Kabat Zinn stuff
Eliza Madrigal nods.... :::sends brainwaves to Storm::::
Zen Arado: it's pretty boring if you have two speak through a body scan yourself
Eliza Madrigal: :) If it wouldn't be too much, feel free to use Monday mornings too of course... it might be relaxing rather than a burden if you don't post the session after :)

Zen Arado: it just struck me the other week when I was trying to do that exercise that most people are so out of touch with their actual body sensations
Eliza Madrigal: especially when in SL?
Zen Arado: well it is still coming back to your body even in second life
    Bleu Oleander: hiya :)
    Zen Arado: Hi Bleu
Eliza Madrigal: yes... sometimes I notice myself leaning into the computer and then a "why am I tense" then realize I'm not really in body... so adjust/sit straighter, etc
    Eliza Madrigal: Hi Bleu :)
    Zen Arado: Hi Boxy :)

    Eliza Madrigal: Hi Pirate :)
    Bleu Oleander: hi mp :)
Alfred Kelberry: hi, fine human beings
Zen Arado: I downloaded the French version of Dragon voice typing
Bleu Oleander feels honored to be included in "fine human beings"
Zen Arado: it gives you English as well
Eliza Madrigal: we've just been discussing the logistics of having opening a stream for zen here
Eliza Madrigal: and what day to include a body scan meditation :)
Zen Arado: I suppose people could just go to my stream on the web
Zen Arado: but I usually find people don't know how to do that
Zen Arado: for some don't anyway

Alfred Kelberry: bleu, i would like to personally convey to you my respect and awe at your crafty abilities :)
    Bleu Oleander: awww ty mp!

    --BELL--

    Eliza Madrigal smiles
    Alfred Kelberry: :)
Bleu Oleander: would you mind if I rezzed my sample board ... just to see size?
Alfred Kelberry: and a compliment is due to eliza for her gentle organization and mediating skills :)
    Bleu Oleander: yes!
Eliza Madrigal: YES Bleu, would love to....
    Alfred Kelberry: bleu: yes, please!
Eliza Madrigal: Boxy and I had a peek... but it will be new for Zen
Zen Arado: waits for his compliment..hopeful
    Eliza Madrigal giggles Zen
    Eliza Madrigal: (Thank you Boxy)
    Alfred Kelberry: zen :)
    Eliza Madrigal: (((Zen))))
    Bleu Oleander: yay Zen!!!

Eliza Madrigal smiles at all the Bleus
    Bleu Oleander: haha
Bleu Oleander: i'm my own model :)
Eliza Madrigal: The theme is wonderful too.. because it isn't intrusive
Bleu Oleander: hard to get models these days
    Eliza Madrigal: :))
Bleu Oleander: so could be done a number of ways
Bleu Oleander: have suggested to Storm that he might want to design it to fit with Pavilion architecture
Eliza Madrigal nods... like a framing
    Bleu Oleander: yes
Eliza Madrigal: maybe with a vine growing on it...
    Bleu Oleander: exactly
Bleu Oleander: so a guardian could just pop their photo texture in their slot
    Bleu Oleander: easy to update

Alfred Kelberry: zen, actually, there is one for you. i'd like to thank you for constructive input on the meeting and most of all - volunteering to organize the dance floor :)

Eliza Madrigal: thank you for doing this Bleu
    Zen Arado: I did?
Bleu Oleander: so a concept start
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Alfred Kelberry: yes, a touch of wood would look more pabish
Bleu Oleander: I have a photo booth we could all use too
Zen Arado: I can come with ideas but I'm not such a good organiser
Zen Arado: I prefer others do that bit
Eliza Madrigal: I love seeing everyone's talents show up
Alfred Kelberry: zen, it's all logged :)
Eliza Madrigal: like Bleu seems quiet sometimes then boom
    Eliza Madrigal: :)

Zen Arado: soetimes these things need more than one person's input
Eliza Madrigal: I think almost always zen
Alfred Kelberry: zen, i beg to differ. each time you did an improvised dj session - you organized it with most diligence.
    Eliza Madrigal: true
Eliza Madrigal: you're a responsive dj
    Alfred Kelberry: :)

Alfred Kelberry: i love the board!
Bleu Oleander: so there's Zen's pic that he just gave me
    Eliza Madrigal: :D
    Eliza Madrigal zooms
Alfred Kelberry: it's better than google calendar :)
Bleu Oleander: has a busy background
Zen Arado: it's getting hard to find any slots left on my week
Alfred Kelberry: i can instantly say who is hosting what and when

Bleu Oleander: I think I prefer the simple head shots
Bleu Oleander: what do you think?
    Alfred Kelberry: bleu, me too
Eliza Madrigal: yes, especially when it gets full...
Alfred Kelberry: we kind of know each other :)
Zen Arado: yes the head shots are good
Alfred Kelberry: but the first "mugshot" was superb, bleu! you should keep it :)
Zen Arado: but maybe somebody new wouldn't know who they were
    Zen Arado: high yaku
    Bleu Oleander: haha ty mp!
Eliza Madrigal: the pictures aren't too large like this either - have seen in some places where they post pictures of people that come in and it is a bit off-putting to have oneself blown up like that

    Alfred Kelberry: yaku san :)
    Bleu Oleander: hi Yaku
    Eliza Madrigal: Hi Yaku!
    Yakuzza Lethecus: hey all
    Bleu Oleander: so size ok?
    Eliza Madrigal: just right
    Bleu Oleander: :)
Alfred Kelberry: eliza: yes, i think it's a perfect size
Eliza Madrigal: I have to figure out what Eliza I'll most often look like before taking a pic
    Bleu Oleander: yes :)

Boxy and I differ slighly on the prominence of themes...

Alfred Kelberry: it would be cool to enter the theme in chat though
Alfred Kelberry: i think storm can do that
Bleu Oleander: what do you mean?
Eliza Madrigal: well... one hesitation is that the theme is optional, non intrusive.. so having it gently posted seems enough?
Alfred Kelberry: type in chat to the board channel and change the theme instead of uploading an image
Alfred Kelberry: eliza, i would make it more prominent. it's the theme of discussion after all.
Eliza Madrigal: don't want anyone to feel chained to it... (hehe, noticing a bit of a theme if we put the mugshot picture back for everyone)
    Eliza Madrigal giggles

    --BELL--

    Bleu Oleander: hahaha
Alfred Kelberry: also, i think that guardians could type in a specific topic into the board for their sessions to explore the theme in more detail
Alfred Kelberry: eliza, 4 years of dropping. you think a line of text can chain us? :)
    Eliza Madrigal: "willingly bound"

Zen Arado: how do we drop it into the board?
Eliza Madrigal: that would bring in a whole new group from SL too...
    Eliza Madrigal: hehehe
    Eliza Madrigal: (sorry)
    Alfred Kelberry: yes, pretty cool
Bleu Oleander: you can edit the board by clicking on it
    Eliza Madrigal: true Boxy
Bleu Oleander: and then "select face"
Eliza Madrigal: not sure it can, just trying to be sensitive because not everyone likes the topics
    Bleu Oleander: then choose texture
Alfred Kelberry: go ahead, yaku. add your handsome face :)
Zen Arado: I don't have the permission
    Bleu Oleander: oh
    Bleu Oleander: one sec
Alfred Kelberry: zen, pab group active?
Zen Arado: you know for other people to work on something you are working on you how to give them permission
    Eliza Madrigal: nor I
    Bleu Oleander: hmmm
Bleu Oleander: how do I do that?
Bleu Oleander: PaB has to be active group
Eliza Madrigal: I've got pab activated
    Bleu Oleander: still no?

Zen Arado: you have to check the third box on contacts
Zen Arado: I don't like to give too many people that permission
Zen Arado: because they can alter anything you have then
Eliza Madrigal: oooh that's right... in friends' list
Eliza Madrigal: because it is personal to Bleu not to sim
Bleu Oleander: so how do I make it editable?
Bleu Oleander: can I deed it to the group?
    Zen Arado: I don't know
    Eliza Madrigal: not sure either

Yakuzza Lethecus: hmm where is the molecule theatre again ?
Zen Arado: I thought you would have two check that box to everybody who wanted to edit
    Bleu Oleander: I'll ask Storm
Zen Arado: and I don't think that's a good idea

Eliza Madrigal: we need a place for boxy on the board - quick choose a session to host boxy :)
Zen Arado: is probably a script that allows people to alter things
Zen Arado: brings up the menu for altering
Bleu Oleander: funny I'm not hosting but have 4 pics up there :)
    Eliza Madrigal: :)) shhh
Eliza Madrigal: almost had him I'm sure :)

Bleu Oleander: I'll have to host to get my pic up
Eliza Madrigal: would seem very strange no bleu on the board...
    Bleu Oleander: yes!
Eliza Madrigal: Druth is hosting every *other* Friday.... not sure how to show that one
Bleu Oleander: probably with text under her pic
Eliza Madrigal: guess it is a minor detail , yes
Zen Arado: Which session is she hosting?
    Eliza Madrigal: 7pm
    Zen Arado: ok

Bleu Oleander: Storm may want to design this in another way ... see if he has any other ideas
Eliza Madrigal: really can't say thanks enough - as with the 'gates' it was hard to even visualize until you just cut through and made it :)
Bleu Oleander: yw! I think better visually
Eliza Madrigal: I am someone who can be really stuck until I see something clearly
    Bleu Oleander: yes me too
Zen Arado: yes me too, it's far better than lines of text
    Bleu Oleander: !!
Eliza Madrigal: doodles that begin to play together

Eliza Madrigal: btw I like this week's theme :)
    Zen Arado: what is it?
Eliza Madrigal: well... on the board it says Compassion
    Eliza Madrigal: :)

Alfred Kelberry: guys, i have a proposal... the weekly themes that we appoint have largely been already discussed before, which may feel less engaging in time. what if we pick one usual theme, like here we have "compassion", but to promote more interest and foster various angles - we assign a specific topic for each day of the week. say, monday: compassion to your enemy. tuesday: can compassion be harmful? etc...
Bleu Oleander: just a sample :)

    --BELL--

    Alfred Kelberry: yaku, well done
Alfred Kelberry: btw, it's an additional incentive for guardians to take up empty slots. who doesn't want their pretty face on the board? :)
    Bleu Oleander: yes mp!
Eliza Madrigal: will be strange to have no pema or maxine up there....
    Bleu Oleander: :(
Alfred Kelberry: i think it's very fitting given their lack of presence in sl :)
Eliza Madrigal: but I guess it is sort of like having 'no underlying reason' for sessions
Eliza Madrigal: as the basis for all the activity that goes on
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Bleu Oleander: yes feels a bit that way

Eliza Madrigal: I'll let others say how they feel about the proposal for themes boxy, I'd personaly feel a bit restricted as a host by that
Alfred Kelberry: it's a transition period. it will pass and new something will emerge :)
Zen Arado: I'd like to go to a non-duality group
    Alfred Kelberry: eliza, good point
Zen Arado: but I went to one before and didn't like it
    Eliza Madrigal: in SL Zen?
    Zen Arado: yes
Zen Arado: you can be in too many groups

Alfred Kelberry: eliza: well, my main idea is to have more clearly outlined topics. it focuses people, promotes a nice, engaging conversation.

Eliza Madrigal: I'm thinking... it would be nice to have the host board and also a way to have this picture board which shows more 'at play' in SL... but it would be too much at the pavilion .... but it would show everyone even those who jump into host, like bleu
Alfred Kelberry: when you pick one word as a topic it's very fluid and detached
Bleu Oleander: ah yes .... floating hosts pics

Eliza Madrigal: I like that sometimes Boxy - I love the feeling when a session goes in a million directions and one looks back and it only makes sense in rereading :)
Zen Arado: it also means there's not much to say though Alf

Eliza Madrigal: I'd be willing to be more structured if you'd host a session... I'd take part in that to try
    Zen Arado: yes me too
    Bleu Oleander: yes
Zen Arado: a structured session for a change
Zen Arado: and we'll try not to go off on tangents
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
    Zen Arado: promises :-)
Eliza Madrigal: we'll tie ourselves to the mast
    Zen Arado: yup
Eliza Madrigal: I can't promise not to be fuzzy though
Zen Arado: closes ears to siiren's song of tangents
    Bleu Oleander: hehe

Alfred Kelberry: eliza, i don't see how an outlined topic restricts thinking. one is free to wander. it is thought stimulating if anything. we pick various points and discuss them, instead of bouncing around in the fog all the time.
Eliza Madrigal: sure, show us :)
Zen Arado: we need a demonstration of this
Alfred Kelberry: i did with the science topic a while ago. the earth is still shaking :)
Zen Arado: you have to be brave to go against the flow Boxy
Eliza Madrigal: :) You didn't take on a session with a theme and direct questions ... you did present some questions
Eliza Madrigal: Boxy you are wonderful.. but an anarchist by definition can't structure things?

Eliza Madrigal: I don't want to shoot anything down... I know for some they like clearer questions much better
Zen Arado: the whole aim of philosophy is clarity
Eliza Madrigal: I can only speak for myself and I DO like ritual and structure.... but in underlying form more than in specific content
    Zen Arado: relevance
Alfred Kelberry: eliza: i've asked a precise question as a topic, which then later led to a whole series of meetings and emails where even more questions have been asked and answered.

    --BELL--

Eliza Madrigal: which is fantastic boxy ... a weekly session topic would be different
    Alfred Kelberry: different how?
    Eliza Madrigal: (for me)
Eliza Madrigal: for instance, I think my sessions are already pretty enjoyable...
Eliza Madrigal: and go in interesting directions whether planned topic or not
Eliza Madrigal: I leave feeling happy
Eliza Madrigal: I like the responsiveness of the moment and feel we are 'here' when here
    Alfred Kelberry: yes, i agree
Eliza Madrigal: I attend sessions in other sims that are more like presentations and they're great or I wouldn't go...
Eliza Madrigal: but I wouldn't want all pab to be that way
Zen Arado: yes, its far more fun being creative than just sitting listening to someone

Alfred Kelberry: however, i believe there has to be balance in anything including the moment.

Eliza Madrigal: it isn't an easy balance, which is why we talk so much about this - it is mysterious
    Eliza Madrigal: :)

Zen Arado: I often want to discuss things, ideas that have come up in my reading
Zen Arado: or share them with others
Eliza Madrigal: the one *problem* I think we have...
Bleu Oleander: yes, me too Zen
Zen Arado: we have a need to share things we have found good
Eliza Madrigal: is not having mechanisms to really allow for people to speak one at a time and finish thoughts, without making it so restrictive as to feel we are in line
Alfred Kelberry: zen: or bad :)
Zen Arado: that too Boxy :)
Bleu Oleander: RL groups can feel like that too Eliza
    Eliza Madrigal: yes
Eliza Madrigal: it is a constant puzzle though... like, I really want to hear from the quiet ones... and know I am one of the fast typing not quiet ones...

Alfred Kelberry: eliza, i know what you mean. it does correspond to more structure though, what i was saying :)
Zen Arado: although sometimes we have managed to go round the group one at a time
Eliza Madrigal: the topic itself isn't the structure though, Boxy
Zen Arado: usually at theme meetings though
Eliza Madrigal: it is the 'way' we are with it
    Eliza Madrigal: ?
    Bleu Oleander: yes

Alfred Kelberry: eliza, employing a mechanism that put people in speech time slots is to me even more structure than a clearly outline topic
Eliza Madrigal: I've seen clearly defined topics be just as chaotic
Eliza Madrigal: :) nicely so... have enjoyed those sessions too

Alfred Kelberry: is it an argument against doing it? :)
Eliza Madrigal: no I'd be happy to take part in your doing it
Alfred Kelberry: i've seen people fall on two legs
Eliza Madrigal: but not forcing me to
Eliza Madrigal: and I know forcing is too strong a word for what you're suggesting

Zen Arado: Pamala clifts book is free on Amazon today if you want it
    Eliza Madrigal: free?
    Yakuzza Lethecus: oh, thx zen
Zen Arado: (soryy for butting in)
    Zen Arado: http://www.amazon.com/Virgins-Handbo...+relationships
    Eliza Madrigal: thanks!
    Eliza Madrigal: only on kindle?
Zen Arado: I wouldn't by it

Alfred Kelberry: eliza, you make it sound as a difficult undertaking. it's simply a topic - the rest is up to attendees what to do with it.
    Zen Arado: I don't know
Eliza Madrigal: don't mean to make it sound so Boxy - I think it works for those for whom that is their style

Alfred Kelberry: they may not like it, drop it, and move on for all it takes :)
Eliza Madrigal: for me the strength of hosting is often very individual talents
Eliza Madrigal: and showing up in those
    Eliza Madrigal nods
    Alfred Kelberry: i agree, eliza
Eliza Madrigal: yes... that spirit I like

Bleu Oleander: hosts have different styles
Bleu Oleander: best host is one who brings out the others
    Eliza Madrigal nods

Eliza Madrigal: I watch Charlie Rose, and often laugh at him "Charlie, let the guest speak!"
Alfred Kelberry: zen, she got a book out - nice
    Bleu Oleander: yes!
Eliza Madrigal: he is always interrupting but he gets them into an energy
    Eliza Madrigal: haha
Alfred Kelberry: charlie rose is a tv host, right?
    Eliza Madrigal: yes
Zen Arado: I have to go ....need to get back for original face meeting
Bleu Oleander: cut him a little slack because he is Charlie
    Zen Arado: byee and ty
Eliza Madrigal: K Zen, nice to see you
    Eliza Madrigal: :) Bleu
    Eliza Madrigal: yeah
    Bleu Oleander: bye Zen
    Yakuzza Lethecus: bye zen
Bleu Oleander: I should go too
Eliza Madrigal: it is my heart's desire as a host to make better way...
Bleu Oleander: i'll bring the board to the WG mtg

    --BELL--

Eliza Madrigal: thanks Bleu - can I show a pic in the log?
Alfred Kelberry: eliza: i remember him because he interviewed cartier-bresson, the famous photographer. he let him speak a lot :)
    Bleu Oleander: sure Eliza
    Eliza Madrigal: thanks

    Bleu Oleander: btw
Bleu Oleander: I like Yaku's pic
Bleu Oleander: with pavilion in background
    Yakuzza Lethecus: *blush*

Eliza Madrigal: Oh you changed it....
Alfred Kelberry: eliza, and make sure you add in the log that bleu is a genius and a lovely human being
Bleu Oleander: maybe blends in a little better?
Eliza Madrigal: he looks very dignified
    Bleu Oleander: hahaha mp
    Alfred Kelberry: :)
Eliza Madrigal: :) Boxy - that shows itself :))
    Bleu Oleander: (((mp)))
Eliza Madrigal: maybe pavilion background does work, hm

Alfred Kelberry: yaku, would be a nice surprise if you showed up in a suit with a bow in venice :)
    Bleu Oleander: I like it
Yakuzza Lethecus: never in a suit
Bleu Oleander: adds the pavilion textures we were thinking about
    Alfred Kelberry: :)
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
    Eliza Madrigal: true
    Eliza Madrigal: context
    Bleu Oleander: yes

Yakuzza Lethecus: i got to go, bye for now
    Yakuzza Lethecus: thx everyone
Alfred Kelberry: yaku, evy has some dressing training to do on you :)
    Eliza Madrigal: bye Yaku :)
Eliza Madrigal: me too... busy day...
    Bleu Oleander: bye for now
Eliza Madrigal: thanks so much Bleu :)
    Alfred Kelberry: thank you girls
    Bleu Oleander: take care
Eliza Madrigal: Boxy, thank you too!
    Alfred Kelberry: you're awesome
Alfred Kelberry: you keep the pab going :)
    Bleu Oleander: !!
    Bleu Oleander: byee
Eliza Madrigal: what holds what :)
    Alfred Kelberry: be well :)
Eliza Madrigal: be well boxy pirate friend
