Dash Earthboy: i've taken a load of trash to the dumpsters, applied for three jobs and bought some groceries after one class earlier

Riddle Sideways: we have .5 acre, but on a 25 acre meadow

Dash Earthboy: this morning's Atlanta paper finally confirmed what I've known about corruption in the Atlanta School system
Dash Earthboy: it's about time this stuff is being revealed
Riddle Sideways: sometimes it takes a long time for the newspaper to print something
Fox Monacular: is it bad?
Dash Earthboy: very bad for GA ethics in general
Fox Monacular: i mean, is it that bad:)?
Dash Earthboy: yes
Dash Earthboy: the system has been on accreditation probation for...a year or more?
Dash Earthboy: cheating on tests
Dash Earthboy: administrators changing answers and scores
Riddle Sideways: oh dear
Dash Earthboy: over 10000 families known to be effected
Riddle Sideways: admins not students cheating
Dash Earthboy: both Riddle
Fox Monacular: at the expense of educating kids, no doubt

Dash Earthboy: my county is even more rife with corruption in schools, churches, and the government itself
Fox Monacular: well, my country is waaay more corrupt :) (I'm from Russia)

Fox Monacular: you have mo idea what heppens in schools overthere
Dash Earthboy: don't be too sure Fox :)

Dash Earthboy: cynicism can be healthy as long as accompanied by action for positive change
Dash Earthboy: that's why they don't like me here

Dash Earthboy: and constitutional freedoms we're being deprived of
Fox Monacular: cynicism can also be the only way tostay somewhat removed
Riddle Sideways: yes, depends on what you do with it
Dash Earthboy: i'm not partial to those who stand on the sidelines and philosophize and criticize
Dash Earthboy: i've been in the trenches fighting for social justice most of my life since puberty
Dash Earthboy: maybe before
Fox Monacular: when things get too intense, standing on the sidelines might save your sanity

Riddle Sideways: it is nice to see my kids taking over
Fox Monacular: yes, sometimes this is needed too
Dash Earthboy: my kid's falling for the consumer-driven American dreams
Fox Monacular: when there's not much else left fo you to do

Fox Monacular: yes, it's a very interesting and complicated topic:)

Dash Earthboy: one example of that is the people I've met who disdain the homeless and denigrate me for helping the homeless
Dash Earthboy: they claim: "you're wasting your time and energy"
Dash Earthboy: while they don't do anything but criticize
Dash Earthboy: and donate to their favorite charities
Fox Monacular: yes, there is such a thing as a consumerist charity too
Fox Monacular: perceived merit-based, instead of need-based or simply compassion-based
Dash Earthboy: well I'm a 3M guy

Dash Earthboy: Mason, Mensan, & Male

Dash Earthboy: Masons are the ones who run the Scottish Rite hospitals
Dash Earthboy: Mensans are in the upper 2% IQ of the populace
Dash Earthboy: Males haven't been turned into eunichs by the misanthopes yet :)

Dash Earthboy: so i have worked for integrity at the family, community and state levels
Dash Earthboy: to improve quality of life more generally than for the wealthy/connected alone
Fox Monacular: it's a complex job
Dash Earthboy: i like about SL that I can be homeless and still participate in many things here
Dash Earthboy: even serving in some leadership roles
Fox Monacular: no preconceptions
Riddle Sideways: nobody has to know (and judge) your status/caste here
Dash Earthboy: i wouldn't go that far Fox ;)
Dash Earthboy: yes, i think that issue has been brought up for disccussion Riddle
Fox Monacular: by no preconceptions i meant that a SL avatar can be a facade for a person of any race, gender, status etc. Unless they share something about themselves, there's no way you could have preconceptions about them
Fox Monacular: like Riddle sais, nobody has to know, unless you chose to reveal something about yourself
