Storm Nordwind: About projects proliferating... it has been like setting up an open environment, like brainstorming, where all ideas are seen at the outset as equally valid,even the craziest ones (!), if only because they may spark fresh ideas in other people.

Eliza Madrigal: yes!! and some ideas pop up more quickly, others with longer incubation time or in different ways than first imagined!
Riddle Sideways: an the authorities have not been dashing the ideas so they are continuing

Storm Nordwind: We give ourselves permission to imagine and create. The rest of us give permission to share. The only authority becomes us!
Eliza Madrigal: each of these wonderful projects seems like a leap and yet at the same time fits so naturally, non intrusively, as to seem 'always been thus'

milakel Resident: eliza, well, what riddle said. programming is just a certain notation that allows you to operate on various data structures. but it's what you program takes time to graps and understand.

Eliza Madrigal: finding the ones that work well together would seem a challenge? programs?

Eliza Madrigal: and with so many different machines/viewers/systems

Zen Arado: we have utilitarianism stamped into us
milakel Resident: zen, i think there's always purpose. always initial intention for this or that action. cause and effect :)

Eliza Madrigal: heard people twittering today about how 'soul' doesn't belong in buddhism... then realized there is something called 'store consciousness' in buddhist teachings...

Eliza Madrigal: so something beyond those terms that people seem to understand and try to express
Zen Arado: yeh am fascinated by that
Eliza Madrigal: but even without doing so, each has a sense about it

Zen Arado: if we lost our ability to drive each night after sleeping it would no be nice
Zen Arado: it isn't the same as memory
Zen Arado: could use that as a way to show there is a 'self'

Zen Arado: no..but we store that ability when we acquire it
