The Guardian for this meeting was Adams Rubble. The comments are by Adams Rubble.
FcSeeker Resident: Hello Adams
Adams Rubble: Hello FcSeeker :)
Adams Rubble: How are you today?
FcSeeker Resident: having peace in my mind
FcSeeker Resident: how are you ?
Adams Rubble: Oh, that is a good thing to have
Adams Rubble: I am well but I have been rushing around this morning and so peace is not one of the things I have right now. hehe
FcSeeker Resident: <3
Adams Rubble: maybe now that I am sitting here at the pavilion...
FcSeeker Resident: <3
--BELL--
Adams Rubble: Thank you Fc :)
FcSeeker Resident: yw
Adams Rubble: More and more I am content to just sit when here which might not make me such a good guardian. hehe
FcSeeker Resident: aha
FcSeeker Resident: what kind is a better guardian ?
Adams Rubble: :)
FcSeeker Resident: <3
Adams Rubble: The original idea was that these sessions would be a place to discuss our explorations
Adams Rubble: Hello Dash :)
FcSeeker Resident: Hello Dash
FcSeeker Resident: aha
Dash Earthboy: hey y'all :)
Dash Earthboy: are you at the retreat Adams?
Adams Rubble: That works when people are exploring :)
Adams Rubble: no Dash
Adams Rubble: Most of the retreaters will be absent from the sessions the next two weeks
Dash Earthboy: what's the topic?
Adams Rubble: Fc and I were talking about sitting peacefully as opposed to discussing explorations
Dash Earthboy: ok good to know about the retreat's effect on discussion sessions here
Adams Rubble: The original idea for these sessions was that people would be coming together to talk about their experiences stopping veery 15 minutes to pause for 9 seconds
Dash Earthboy: yes
Adams Rubble: If one asks peopel to talk about thise epxeriences there usually is silence. hehe
Dash Earthboy: right now in Garden of Peace here in SL there is a silent meditation for the benefit of those who desire it
Dash Earthboy: why do you think people are not talking about those experiences?
Adams Rubble: Let's try :)
Adams Rubble: Who would like to talk about their experiences pausing this week?
Dash Earthboy: well, for me, yesterday, i had not wanted to interrupt the discussion flow
Dash Earthboy: about the retreat and Moon's landscaping skills for SL
Dash Earthboy: but I was asked by the group to give the story behind a song I had shared hoping the receiver would understand it was demonstrating skills
Dash Earthboy: not performing skills
Dash Earthboy: writing, arranging, and production skills
Dash Earthboy: teaching people how to do things they want to do
Dash Earthboy: and supporting their efforts with my own physical support
Dash Earthboy: despite my injuries and lack of resources
Dash Earthboy: but the way the discussion progressed after the song's interjection
FcSeeker Resident: I'm sorry I got a calle again so I must log out
Adams Rubble: bye Fc:)
Dash Earthboy: short shrift was given to the skills
Dash Earthboy: bye Fc
FcSeeker Resident: takes a humble bow
Adams Rubble: It is nice you are sharing Dash
Adams Rubble: I am missing how that connects to the nine seconds though
Dash Earthboy: and people missed the points about the skills being demonstrated
Adams Rubble: It sometimes is hard to get things across when there is a big group
--BELL--
Dash Earthboy: this is about the sharing of experience prior to 9 seconds pause
Adams Rubble: Please say more Dash :)
Dash Earthboy: more?
Adams Rubble: about the experiences before the pause
Dash Earthboy: Adams Rubble: It sometimes is hard to get things across when there is a big group
Dash Earthboy: Not only did I already know and understand this
Dash Earthboy: but I had specified to the reciever that I thought it best to wait, not interjecting the song
Dash Earthboy: nor my related experience of the song's creation/production
Dash Earthboy: yet the receiver still interjected the link to the song and boom: chaos, confusion, and no good information processing
Dash Earthboy: i've been to a dream circle session here and understand how even describing a dream needs to be allowed to flow without interruptions to more fully comprehend the dream
Dash Earthboy: between that fiasco yesterday and a guardian interjecting my last name into the log, i've been feeling very uneasy about continuing to participate in SL at all
Dash Earthboy: i mainly come to these discussions to learn and occasionally teach
Dash Earthboy: the social aspects can be fun...as shown by the RL retreats
Adams Rubble: You always can request that a guardian remove something from the log
Dash Earthboy: that's why I joined Mensa back some time ago
Adams Rubble: Hello Moon :)
Dash Earthboy: I did Adams
Moon Fargis: hiya
Dash Earthboy: hey Moon
Adams Rubble: and they didn't?
Dash Earthboy: care to show Adams the garden?
Adams Rubble: I know Moon's work :)
Moon Fargis: i think adam know almost all of my gardens but sure:)
Dash Earthboy: it took more than one request Adams to verify compliance
Dash Earthboy: thanks Moon :)
Adams Rubble: I like your outfit Moon :)
Moon Fargis: :)
Moon Fargis: meditative silence
Adams Rubble: it is nice to sit peacefully
Dash Earthboy: i would have done that at the morning meditation
--BELL--
Dash Earthboy: but was looking more for the discusssions we do here
Yakuzza Lethecus: hey everyone
Moon Fargis: yo
Yakuzza Lethecus: nice to see ur garden again moon :)
Moon Fargis: :)
Adams Rubble: Hello Yaku
Dash Earthboy: hey Yaku
Moon Fargis: onigokko
Moon Fargis: stop
Moon Fargis: ok just wanted to check :)
Yakuzza Lethecus: :)
Moon Fargis: ah seems iveb een caled now
Moon Fargis: soory i could just drop in
Moon Fargis: have a great day!
Adams Rubble: bye Moon. Nice to see you again :)
Dash Earthboy: so what was it about the 9 seconds pause Adams? that you were discussing with Fc?
Adams Rubble: I just lookerd at yesterday's session Dash. They all seemed supportive
Adams Rubble: Have you tired pausing for 9 seconds at 15 minute intervals Dash?
Dash Earthboy: yes i do
Adams Rubble: What is your experience ?
Dash Earthboy: nothing different so far than what occurs naturally thru my days
Dash Earthboy: only when employed have i not been permitted to pause for reflection throughout a day
Adams Rubble: I often am surprised at what I have been doing when I apuse
Adams Rubble: pause
Dash Earthboy: when employed i have even taken up burning cigarettes to get permission to pause
Adams Rubble: there is a difference from being permitted to pause for reflection and doing it, of course
--BELL--
Adams Rubble: yes, pausing may be the only healthy thing about nicotine addiction :)
Yakuzza Lethecus: :)
Yakuzza Lethecus: well i was actually thinking of trying to have breaks every time when i would take a sip of coffee anyway, not to use any artifical clock, binding a bit more reflection to regular habits
Dash Earthboy: oh, i just burn the cigarettes, not inhale
Yakuzza Lethecus: i drink a lot of coffee so it´s coffee for me
Dash Earthboy: yeah, Yaku,,,,coffee has that effect on me too
Dash Earthboy: btw, aren't all clocks "artificial" ? :)
Yakuzza Lethecus: hehe, yes i meant that :)
Adams Rubble: depends what you mean by clock. hehe
Adams Rubble: the sun is not artificial
Dash Earthboy: i got into the habit of pausing while working on my farm
Adams Rubble: nice Dash
Dash Earthboy: soaking in nature and reflecting on what I was doing in the grand scheme of things
Yakuzza Lethecus: any 15 minutes reminder thingy then that that is not already part of daily habits, attaching a habit to an older one rather then fully develop a new one
Dash Earthboy: yes, Yaku, i find quite a few people just learning about stuff I've been doing for decades
Dash Earthboy: i was doing "nam myoho renge kyo" chanting in 1971
Dash Earthboy: i've tried many eastern and western enlightening practices in my studies of theology
Dash Earthboy: so when somebody tells me i "need to" or "should" do this or that which I've already tried, i exercise much patience with their impatience
I crashed for the first time somewhere around here and for the second a few lines down. I see I miessed some of the discussion
Yakuzza Lethecus: i often wonder how to replace the ,,i should´s" or ,,i need to" with something i end up in something artifical still, it stays on a level of thought, verbal thought but isn´t in my practical habits
Dash Earthboy: in my "My Swan Song" i say "Don't try to tell me where to go until you know where I've been"
Dash Earthboy: i say that to someone who considers herself an "angel"
--BELL--
Dash Earthboy: as in "guardian angel"
Dash Earthboy: such people are often full of bad advice they feel they must impart
Adams Rubble: Whoops, I crashed
Yakuzza Lethecus: wb adams
Dash Earthboy: dang
Dash Earthboy: yes, wb
Yakuzza Lethecus: no guardian session today ?
Adams Rubble: nobody is there yet it seems
Yakuzza Lethecus: there goes adams again
Dash Earthboy: i'm preparing for a difficult journey...no distinct destination...just a goal: nurturing community I can help sustain
Dash Earthboy: wb again Adams :)
Adams Rubble: Hello again :)
Yakuzza Lethecus: wb
Yakuzza Lethecus: :)
Adams Rubble: my computer is looking for a thrashing. hehe
Dash Earthboy: i hear ya Adams
Yakuzza Lethecus: well that thought often comes to mind about pab, when there were some sessions without a subject or ppl dissapear whom i like to read there chat´s
Yakuzza Lethecus: the preservation of sustainable communities in virtual worlds as well as even the clan i have had in gaming which i also considered a nice community of ppl but of course i also think how much i interact with the real communities, i do not even like our local activities and traditions to participate in
Dash Earthboy: i have missed the activities i had around my farm
Adams Rubble: the world is full of change
Dash Earthboy: and air and water
Adams Rubble: :)
Yakuzza Lethecus: right now we have ,,schützenfeste" in all our tiny villages, so a drinking feast every weekend :P
Adams Rubble: fun sounding word
Dash Earthboy: sounds intoxicating Yaku :)
Yakuzza Lethecus: http://www.schuetzen-balve.de/
Adams Rubble: Unfortunately I must be going. I have a busy schedule today
Yakuzza Lethecus: that is actually one that happens right now
Yakuzza Lethecus: take care adams
Dash Earthboy: cool Yaku thanks :)
Dash Earthboy: be well Adams
Adams Rubble: thank you Yaku :)
Adams Rubble: bye for now :)
Yakuzza Lethecus: btw. the cave we have in our town became kinda famous for it´s musical activities
Dash Earthboy: i too should get back to RL projects, prepping for that journey...i have been so delayed
Dash Earthboy: that cave sounds intriguing
Yakuzza Lethecus: it´s one of the biggest in europe usable for feasts and concerts
--BELL--
Yakuzza Lethecus: anyhow, nice to see you
Dash Earthboy: accoustics in a cave have great ambiance
