druth Vlodovic: she is a professional of sime kind, does counseling, amongst other things
milakel Resident: yes, i've been to a talk once
milakel Resident: i'd like to go :)

druth Vlodovic: probably the one on approaches to SL, that one did the rounds, and might have hit paradise

druth Vlodovic: a lot of people seem to spend their energy trying to justify what they do
milakel Resident: it's good to have purpose :)
druth Vlodovic: when a kid does something stupid the first thing we ask them is "why did you do that?!?" and often they can't say
druth Vlodovic: hard to realize they are likely being honest
milakel Resident: most likely they tell the truth
druth Vlodovic: people have to learn to lie, and be mean
druth Vlodovic: Freud had it backwards :)
milakel Resident: freud brought us nothing but trouble :)
druth Vlodovic: he got us to consider that there might be reasons for what we do
druth Vlodovic: even, or especially, when we do what we don't want to
milakel Resident: too much awareness on his part of what has to be simply experienced :)
druth Vlodovic: maybe
druth Vlodovic: I like to know
druth Vlodovic: if all you do is experience then what you do involuntarily becomes what you are, with no reference to what you could be
milakel Resident: i think there's causality. always a reason for an action.
druth Vlodovic: this, I think, was his biggest contribution
druth Vlodovic: and his courage to look inside himself and try to find commonality with others
druth Vlodovic: but you're right, there is a time to just experience, relax and enjoy
druth Vlodovic: stop weighing and judging
druth Vlodovic: to stop having a purpose :)
