Dash Earthboy: while I have a chance, here's an update on a problem I'm having which makes listening to "accept whatever happens and learn from it" and "accept your responsibility in the matter" almost offensive to hear
Dash Earthboy: wondered why room did not cool down overnight. Discovered baseboard heat units in my room were on high and there was no thermostat for me to control. When I notified the desk clerks they responded "We'll lend you a fan for a deposit." And when I respectfully requested the heat be turned down: "The thermostat is in the other room" (opposite shared bathroom) and "You need to talk to that guy and ask him to turn down the heat." And if he isn't there to talk to? "Leave a note for him."

Dash Earthboy: have since talked to other tenants who say all baseboard heat units are on and management has been aware of it for months...management doesn't care

Dash Earthboy: some of them have purchased their own windows a/c units to cope with this heat wave
Dash Earthboy: reminder: just finished hottest August on record here

Dash Earthboy: think of all the energy being wasted by management to superheat this place

Dash Earthboy: I have no access to thermostats or circuit breakers

Dash Earthboy: it's 86 outside right now and about 10 degrees warmer in here

Dash Earthboy: When I got my farm I had to face what the previous owners had done to the woodlot: let it grow back "wild" after it had been timbered out
