Archmage Atlantis: Hello Bertram, Mick, Bruce

Mickorod Renard: I am fine t,,had lil break,,but glad to be back some
Archmage Atlantis: Overall, imo, yes, Mickorod
    Mickorod Renard: Great Arch
Bertram Jacobus: it is told that spiritual masters got nervous when their lives were too smooth and they started to pray then for difficulties (!) ... ;-)
Archmage Atlantis: I distrust that description Bertram
Mickorod Renard: he he ..I think it ebbs and flows..like rivers
    Bertram Jacobus: why distrust ?
Archmage Atlantis: I think perhaps that when things got too smooth, the lack of challenge became boring
Archmage Atlantis: See the thing about difficulties is that one cannot bring them only for oneself
Bertram Jacobus: so far as i understood that, the lack of possibilities to develop was the reason for wishing more difficulties ...
Archmage Atlantis: One brings them for others also
Bertram Jacobus: hi korel ! :-)
Bruce Mowbray: I am right now in Chicago -- on a holiday I almost canceled due to BAD hip pain. . . Then decided to rent a wheelchair. . .
    Archmage Atlantis: Osoye
    Mickorod Renard: Hi Korel
    Archmage Atlantis: or close
Bruce Mowbray: Spent most of this day at the art museum in the wheelchair.
    Korel Laloix: Osiyo
    Bruce Mowbray: Hey, Korel.
    Archmage Atlantis: Osiyo
Bruce Mowbray: We've been chatting about "difficulties" and how they bring opportunities for growth . . .
Korel Laloix: What sort of art Bruce?
Korel Laloix: I might be able to talk about that one... lol
Bruce Mowbray: i have never before in my life had such respect for persons in wheelchairs as i do right now!
Archmage Atlantis: Yes....tell us about the art
Archmage Atlantis: The art that is worth a wheelchair
Bruce Mowbray: The art at the Chicago Institute of Art is absolutely wonderful.
    Bertram Jacobus: hi fc :-)
    Korel Laloix: Osiyo Fc.
    FcSeeker Resident: Hello all
Bruce Mowbray: If it were not for being at this PaB meeting, I would have stayed there until the place closed and they kicked me out.

    Bruce Mowbray: Hey, Fc!
    Mickorod Renard: hi Fc,,
Mickorod Renard: excuse me a mo
Korel Laloix: I was in a wheel chair for a short time after my pelvis was broken.
Bruce Mowbray: Hey, Luci! Aren't you at the retreat?
Korel Laloix: But I don't remember it much.
FcSeeker Resident: Lucinda Bertram Korel Arch Riddle Bruce

Riddle Sideways: ah hearts are in the air
    Archmage Atlantis: EVening, Sister Wol
    Wol Euler smiles.
Bruce Mowbray: So, (@Arch) do difficulties merely make life more interesting, or can they be grist for the "work."?
    Agatha Macbeth: Evening all
    Wol Euler: hello aggers, zon
    Bruce Mowbray: Hey, znk!
    znk Resident: heya
Bertram Jacobus: hey aggers and znk

Korel Laloix: What do you mean by grist?
Archmage Atlantis: But yet I don't want to know.....the mystery is kinda kewl also
    Bertram Jacobus: hmmm - not sure whether i understand that - oh yes : i don´t :o)
    Agatha Macbeth smiles @ Bert
Bruce Mowbray: "Grist" is the expression that Ram Dass use when he talked of the stuff that goes into spiritual work: Grist for the Mill.
    --BELL--
Wol Euler: perhaps you have display names turned off, Bert? Znk is Zon's display name
Agatha Macbeth: Grist means stuff you grind Korel, as in making flour
Archmage Atlantis: Grist is a word that comes from the milling of grain
Archmage Atlantis: It is the fiberous part that is separated
Bertram Jacobus: ty wol. i can read it. but don´t understand ... hm - okay - aggers said an old typo - okay :-)
    Bruce Mowbray: ;-)
Archmage Atlantis: The grist is what is used to create something useful from something that has been discarded
Bruce Mowbray: I think Ram Dass' point was that absolutely everything in life (especially the difficulties) can be grist for the mill of spiritual work.
    Wol Euler nods.
    Agatha Macbeth: Sounds about right
Lucinda Lavender: how many kinds of grist there is...
    FcSeeker Resident: Hello Pila
Bertram Jacobus: hi pila ... :-)
Bruce Mowbray ponders infinite grists - - in infinite mills.

Agatha Macbeth: Give her a notecard :p
Alfred Kelberry: is she logging in? :)
Lucinda Lavender: I just want to say...my computer is very slow today and so sorry about that
    Agatha Macbeth: No worries Luci
Bruce Mowbray: she finally left. . . but I tried to explain over and over again that I was GoC for this meeting - - Didn't matter.  Besides, you all did wonderfully well without me.
Bruce Mowbray: Mine is also very slow Luci.
    Agatha Macbeth: Brucie da GoC
Lucinda Lavender: Bruce how is Chicago?
Alfred Kelberry: *holds luci's hand* no worries. i'm happy you're here with us :)
    Lucinda Lavender: :)
Agatha Macbeth holds the other hand
    Alfred Kelberry: :)
Alfred Kelberry: ah, that reminds me. someone mentioned holding hands in the circle animation. that would be awesome.
Lucinda Lavender: I have surprised the others here as being more of a fireball than you would expect...what a great learning for me
Alfred Kelberry: i think it was xira
    Agatha Macbeth: Which circle animation?
    Alfred Kelberry: luci, heh
    Lucinda Lavender: nods
    Agatha Macbeth is lost again
Alfred Kelberry: aga, when we sit in the circle and hold hands
Lucinda Lavender: has that been done?
Agatha Macbeth: Surely the cushions are too far apart?
Alfred Kelberry: not to my knowledge
Wol Euler: only i RL, as far as I know
Alfred Kelberry: there must be a similar animation
Agatha Macbeth: Plus everybody would need a hand-holding animation
    Agatha Macbeth: Yes
Alfred Kelberry: could be the hands holding oni :)
    Lucinda Lavender: imagining Greek dancing:)
    Alfred Kelberry: heh
Alfred Kelberry: *sighs* that part is so lacking in sl... or in general in virtual worlds
Alfred Kelberry: our grandchildren will laugh at us for not being able to accomplish such a "trivial" thing
Lucinda Lavender: for now the weather is looking so great that I will go be in it for a bit:)
