[ed. the above 2 lines should be dark blue and italics]

No region restart today, but there is a very interesting proposal that we might all take up down in the middle.
With more thought upon it, it is a great idea.
Probably will email this idea to GoC and WG.

    Riddle Sideways: Morning, Eliza

    Riddle Sideways: hehehe
somehow a boxy nose quote got into the textbox chat log (not here)
Eliza Madrigal: what, is boxy's nose here without boxy?
Riddle Sideways: seems we have to have Boxy to have Boxy's nose
Eliza Madrigal: I see boxy's nose in chat!?
Eliza Madrigal: but no boxy here?!
Riddle Sideways: with the wonders of copy-n-paste?
Yakuzza Lethecus: boxy is in 19m distance
Riddle Sideways: or Yak is magik
Yakuzza Lethecus: i am no harry dresden or something
Eliza Madrigal: So what might the nose of a winking elephant in the room, say?

Alfred Kelberry: "um, one moment, let me put my cute glasses on" :)
Picture: Boxy is the usual tiny cute cardboard dog, today Riddle is tiny elelphant

    Alfred Kelberry: :)
                         --BELL--
Riddle Sideways: not just another stuffied animal, but a useful Avitar too
Eliza Madrigal: instead of 'monkey mind' some use the metaphor of wild elephants to describe un-stilled mind :)
Eliza Madrigal: but you seem very calm :)
    Riddle Sideways: who does? :)
Eliza Madrigal: I've read/heard it in some teachings...
Riddle Sideways: ok, then it is fact
Eliza Madrigal: can sort of understand it though i've not lived among wild elephants...
    Eliza Madrigal: ground rumbling...
    Eliza Madrigal: world shaking
    Eliza Madrigal: hehe
Riddle Sideways: son, lived around elephants and thought them tame/calm
Riddle Sideways: lumbering to the next meal

Eliza Madrigal: that video clip isn't great... just a snippet...

Riddle Sideways: watched a TED vid couple days ago that is now seemingly lost
Friends, does your browser history and bookmarks start to look like the same mess your SL inventory is in.
         Well, there is help...
Just delete everything and you won't have to worry about organizing anything anymore.

Alfred Kelberry: duh, got distracted again

Riddle Sideways: yes, leaving the gym feels good :)
Zen Arado: you're lucky you can work out
    Riddle Sideways: yes
Zen Arado: I can only do repetitive light exercise
Zen Arado: not the kind that builds muscle
Alfred Kelberry: that's more than most do, zen! :)
Riddle Sideways: many americans do 3 hours of beer lifts on Sunday

    Santoshima Resident: thank you
    Zen Arado: ty Eliza
Eliza Madrigal: I like the video because he points to 'fun' as path

Eliza Madrigal: we need to invite Robert Thurman here :)
Riddle Sideways: he plays with words, audience and ideas
Eliza Madrigal nods... plays in a flexible mind
Riddle Sideways: kept having to pause it to think over scenes
Santoshima Resident: go ahead and invite
The seed of an idea...  invite TED and YouTube lecturers to PaB special sessions

Zen Arado: came across idea lately...two types of spiritual enquiry...one asks 'how do I make my life better?
Riddle Sideways: had a party here the other night and kept wanting to hit "pause" to think on something somebody said :)
Zen Arado: other asks 'what is this?
Santoshima Resident: perhaps he could hold a class here in the village hall
Santoshima Resident: several streams here at the moment
Eliza Madrigal: would actually love to meet him sometime, interesting idea but so few with toes in virtual worlds yet
                         --BELL--

Santoshima Resident: ok, it will be done
    Riddle Sideways: :)
Santoshima Resident: maybe offer sugestions on what we would like?
Santoshima Resident: [ i have not idea whether RT would accept ]
    Santoshima Resident: no idea
Eliza Madrigal nods... never hurts to ask :) ty
Santoshima Resident: a class, a talk,
Riddle Sideways: not known, but worth a try
Santoshima Resident: open to how many avitars?
Santoshima Resident: that kind of thing
Santoshima Resident: in the molecule theatre?
    Santoshima Resident: perhaps?
Eliza Madrigal: well the village hall straddles two sims so may be better
Riddle Sideways: or Kira or here
Eliza Madrigal: but Storm would be the person to ask

    Santoshima Resident: kira is where?
Eliza Madrigal: down a bit from Village Hall
    Riddle Sideways: west a little
Santoshima Resident: ok, will check it
Riddle Sideways: cafe looking place with a voice room
Santoshima Resident: ok, i know it
    Santoshima Resident: ty

Eliza Madrigal: molecule theater is an interesting idea also... just unsure of the numbers that could be accmodated
Riddle Sideways: sometimes think we should invite every TED speaker here :)
Santoshima Resident: guest speakers at molecule
Riddle Sideways: some speakers want to be on stage. others just want to join a group disscussion

Please gentle reader bare with your humble servent:
TED started (in my home town) as just a get together of people and ideas to share.
PaB started as just a get Together to share and play.
PaB has been running on "If we build it (thanks Storm), They will show up..."
The one thing TED did that PaB has not done ?
TED invited interesting people from around the world to come show-n-tell.

PaB could/should invite people to come play their full or partial ideas/thoughts/workings/plays/theories/hypothisises/ventings/whatever 'with us'
         1. In a special session (or regular session) an invited guest could join or teach or lecture or present.
         2. We already have facilities for group circles, voice rooms, lecture auditoriums, large meetings, etc.
         3. Some presenters are SL adept, some need our helping hands.  We have the skill and inventories.
         4. there is no number 4
         5. Which TED (or other world/specialiality leader) would you like to sit down with for an hour ???????  Could you (or me (oh dear)) write that person and convince them SL has a stage for them, they ideas and a working forum.
         6. The presenter would not have to travel far, get dressed up (except avi dressing) nor be completely prepared (we could work through stuff).  Shy persons could come to other sessions or meetings beforehand.
         7. Could (Bleu, storm, others) know how to (teach me) to video/audio capture for submission to youTube/TED streaming type sites.
         8. your thoughts...  please add comments at bottom.

Eliza Madrigal: I like his point that indeed we are more and more connected and aware of one another and this collaborative thinking, empathetic connection, being an indicator toward what we think of as enlightenment, etc...

Santoshima Resident: eliza, what is the "name' of that animation?
     Eliza Madrigal: Oh, the AO?
    Santoshima Resident: yeah?
    Eliza Madrigal: let me check...
Riddle Sideways: ty, like that AO too
    Eliza Madrigal: chartreux
    Riddle Sideways: very playful
Eliza Madrigal: TY :) It is the first one I've really liked... seems more natural not always 'hey baby'

Zen Arado: why do we think so much?
    Eliza Madrigal: hahah
    Riddle Sideways: not sure Zen
Eliza Madrigal: we've gotten tricked by a new toy, imo.... caught up in it
    Eliza Madrigal: (re thinking)
Eliza Madrigal: thinking itself just fine but maybe not meant to be be all-end all :)
Riddle Sideways: guest speakers is a good idea. we can offer stage, circle, group, chat and voice venues
Zen Arado: thinking takes us away from life
Riddle Sideways: yes, was just thinking away from current topic
Zen Arado: into a thinking world
Eliza Madrigal: I wonder if someone has compiled a list of speakers who have come into SL... have been interesting ones I know
Eliza Madrigal: not that we're not all fascinating of course :)
Santoshima Resident: here's an offering related to thinking:
Zen Arado: reminds me of people who go to the same art teacher for 10 or more years

Santoshima Resident: http://www.art21.org/anythingispossi...g-is-possible/ (WILLIAM KENTRIDGE, Artist / 53 minutes) ---
quote (in first minute) play is serious
http://www.tate.org.uk/intermediaart...an_leeson.shtm (Lynn Hershman Leeson (as Gene Ware) and Tilda Swinton interview Lawrence Lessig)
Santoshima Resident: for later, too long for now
Santoshima Resident: the 2nd is a combined interview in RL and SL

    Eliza Madrigal: Oh, excellent, thanks

Zen Arado: the next teacher is the one who will really get 'it' across to me
Zen Arado: I do the same
Santoshima Resident: what is "it" zen?
Eliza Madrigal: well I suppose it is a difference between whether a teacher is seen as mere 'information' giver, or not, Zen? So similar to the thinking point

Zen Arado: I answered a question on a forum about going with the flow ..John Taylor John Taylor 06 November 13:59 But we don't go with the flow, we ARE the flow, surely? Unless we create an illusory separate 'I' ....

Zen Arado: a woman wrote...'Great insights. And they spur so many further questions. Is the goal of life to stay as dry as one can be? Can you train yourself to negotiate the tumults of life so deftly that it hardly fazes you? Is the goal to get to the other shore? Or is it to realize there is nowhere to get to? If we ARE the flow, why do we cause ourselves to eddy? This "flow" which guides us, which may be said to be our true Selves--why does it place us often in the most treacherous rapids? How do we learn to trust it again? And are all directions equally appealing? What steers us? Why? And how do we let it?'
Zen Arado: see what I mean about thinking?
    Zen Arado: :)
    Eliza Madrigal giggles
                         --BELL--
Riddle Sideways: wow, she is really busy
Zen Arado: ha ha well it really made me think
Riddle Sideways: :) thinking about thinking
Riddle Sideways: me thinks about you thinking about her thinking about his
Zen Arado: ;think non thinking' is the zen koan
Zen Arado: ty for the link Santo
Eliza Madrigal: thinking is not at issue, me thinks
Riddle Sideways: it is what is done with it
Riddle Sideways: if it gets in the way
    Santoshima Resident: yw
Zen Arado: but it usually does
    Eliza Madrigal: of what?
Santoshima Resident: well, it does come in handy on occassion
    Zen Arado: of direct exeriencing
    Eliza Madrigal: experiencing what?
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Zen Arado: yes functional is useful
    Zen Arado: life
    Santoshima Resident: life
    Riddle Sideways: life
    Santoshima Resident: yes, life
Eliza Madrigal: how can a little thinking get in the way of something as significant as life? :)
    Riddle Sideways: "to Life"
Zen Arado: life without conceptual overlays
Zen Arado: it is s stage removed
    Zen Arado: a stage
Zen Arado: life is just a stage '
    Zen Arado: :)
Santoshima Resident: getting up, puttin gon my conceptual overlays so as to appear real in the world
    Riddle Sideways: yep
    Zen Arado: peels his back
    Zen Arado: peers at it
    Zen Arado: wow
Zen Arado: not what I thought :)
Eliza Madrigal: what one is, in a larger sense, couldn't possibly be pinned down by thinking could it?
    Riddle Sideways: :)
    Zen Arado: no
Zen Arado: but we think it could :)
Eliza Madrigal: so the we're talking about the nature of illusion?
Zen Arado: I'm gonna figure it all out any time now

    Santoshima Resident: good going, zen
    Zen Arado: :)
Santoshima Resident: we are right behind you
    Eliza Madrigal: heheh
Riddle Sideways waits for the report
Eliza Madrigal: think making friends with illusion may be part of it, friends, I dare say, even with thinking :)
    Zen Arado: long wait..:)
Eliza Madrigal: not really friendly to say to thinking 'hey, you are a problem' then thinking stronger and wants to persuade you... haha
Zen Arado: someone asked my en teacher 'what is the zen position on....? he said 'there isn't one'
    Santoshima Resident: excellent!
    Zen Arado: :)
    Yakuzza Lethecus: :)
    Riddle Sideways: :)
Zen Arado: I better think about dinner :)
Eliza Madrigal: and me about the 10000 things
    Riddle Sideways: ah, thinking again
