Bleu Oleander: I think the concept of pausing is very applicable to life
Catrinamonblue Resident: I was just telling Bleu I have been reading chat logs from the beginning of PaB
Bleu Oleander: what happens during that pause varies greatly with each person perhaps
Bleu Oleander: sorta like pulling into focus what our auto-pilot experience

Bleu Oleander: yes ... fun
Bleu Oleander: I think about 3 yrs for me, plus a year at Kira
Xirana Oximoxi: maybe two years
Bleu Oleander: I came to PaB through Kira

Xirana Oximoxi: I came to Pab through Yaku :)

Catrinamonblue Resident: i live so much on autopilot that pausing is very foriegn to me
Catrinamonblue Resident: I try and think now what?
Bleu Oleander: I pause a lot more now than I used to
Bleu Oleander: hard to put on that "cloak of stillness"
Xirana Oximoxi: I pause when 'walking'.... but it's not easy to me to have my mind quiet
Catrinamonblue Resident: I have a very hard time being still....
Bleu Oleander: reflection can be very illuminating and rewarding
Catrinamonblue Resident: Even sitting here in front of the computer I have a few things on the go
Bleu Oleander: ha!
Catrinamonblue Resident: web pages and emails and such
Bleu Oleander: so not really sitting quietly
Catrinamonblue Resident: not very
Bleu Oleander: too many temptations :)

Bleu Oleander: lets try in the next pause to be still, ok?
Xirana Oximoxi: I recognise at first I did not pause, when here...but now...I am used to it and I think it helps to calm and to think a little about what we are talking too

Xirana Oximoxi: I guess the idea is 'not' to think...but yes.... we see what happens

Bleu Oleander: and noticed how I use the sl camera all the time
Xirana Oximoxi: what do you mean?
Xirana Oximoxi: ahhh I see :)
Bleu Oleander: without that, it became still
Bleu Oleander: started hearing the sl and rl birds
Bleu Oleander: my dog's breath next to me
Bleu Oleander: so much came into my awareness
Bleu Oleander: noticed it was hard not to more my sl camera :)
Bleu Oleander: thoughts?
Catrinamonblue Resident: I just kept chanting yes to my thoughts and listened to my son playing his gameboy
Catrinamonblue Resident: before the pause I was thinking of a mirror
Catrinamonblue Resident: and my reflection therein
Bleu Oleander: interesting
Xirana Oximoxi: I wondered how difficult must be when they prepare a sl retreat, to sit still at home but sharing the 'silence' with others in SL...
Bleu Oleander: yes, i've participated in one
Bleu Oleander: pressures of rl intrude
Bleu Oleander: but are moments of stillness
Xirana Oximoxi: yes...but also without pressures...
Bleu Oleander: sense of sharing that space
Bleu Oleander: not unlike now
Bleu Oleander: perhaps more concentrated effort
Xirana Oximoxi: yes..that may be the point...to be aware we are sharing this moments and this space
Bleu Oleander: that's the magic of sl
Catrinamonblue Resident: I like that Xira
Xirana Oximoxi: yes:) sl has this power:)
Xirana Oximoxi: magic powers:)

Bleu Oleander: so pauses in rl are now like that for me
Bleu Oleander: a shared feeling of presence
Xirana Oximoxi: with sl friends?
Bleu Oleander: they are magic moments in a way
Xirana Oximoxi: yes
Bleu Oleander: I like to work on extending the circle of my shared presence beyond those immediately with me
Bleu Oleander: hard to do
Catrinamonblue Resident: how do you do that?
Bleu Oleander: but key to try
Bleu Oleander: I think becoming more aware is a start
Xirana Oximoxi: yes.... sometimes not easy, but possible
Bleu Oleander: I tend to zoom around a lot
Xirana Oximoxi: yes, I agree....
Bleu Oleander: miss many others along the way
Bleu Oleander: so being more in the present helps
Bleu Oleander: less focused on me and my goals
Bleu Oleander: more grateful to be with others
Bleu Oleander: so pausing helps
Xirana Oximoxi: we need others, and sl makes it easier to communicate and chat and share

Xirana Oximoxi: to be serious and also to have fun

Xirana Oximoxi: a little like recovering the playfun side (at least for me)

Xirana Oximoxi: some days ago I was also riding a horse throught SL routes following the map ...from my studio to PaB :)) like a child :)
Bleu Oleander: oh fun!
Bleu Oleander: I remember the first time Storm walked me from PaB to the beach
Bleu Oleander: was amazed
Xirana Oximoxi: yes:)...crossing a small village...etc.....it's fun to do only once anyway:)
Bleu Oleander: I like that about mainland sl
