Wol Euler was guardian for this session.
Wol Euler: good morning, yaku
Wol Euler: I slept through the alarm :(
Yakuzza Lethecus: good morning wol
Yakuzza Lethecus: well, i guessed so :)
Wol Euler sighs.
Yakuzza Lethecus: at least you seem to have slept well :)
Wol Euler chuckles.
Wol Euler: yes thanks
Wol Euler: I was having a marvellous dream
Wol Euler: about the place I used to work in England, and driving around the countryside
Wol Euler: thank you for covering for me
Yakuzza Lethecus: well, nothing happend
Wol Euler: what's your plan for today?
Yakuzza Lethecus: i don't have that many, right now i am experimenting with that ppjoy tool and with that headtracking application
Wol Euler: sounds like fun
Yakuzza Lethecus: well, i wonder how to make sl a bit more augmented
Wol Euler listens.
--BELL--
Yakuzza Lethecus: well, actually i wonder a bit about the availible technologie today, software, licences patents
Yakuzza Lethecus: i can't program but i often wonder what would be availible if everything would be really open
Yakuzza Lethecus: and programmed with low level languages isntead of like java or other interpreter languages which became so popular and systempowereating
Wol Euler nods.
Wol Euler: if you read about the early days of computing, they made amazing things in tiny amounts of memory and processing power
Wol Euler: the first flight simulator was written for a computer that had a total of 16k of memory
Wol Euler: the logo on the eBay webpage is 16k
Wol Euler: that's amazing
Wol Euler: boxy
Yakuzza Lethecus: hey alfred
Alfred Kelberry: woly girl :)
Alfred Kelberry: yaku boy :)
Alfred Kelberry: wuff!
Wol Euler: heheheh
Alfred Kelberry: good to see you two
Alfred Kelberry: continuation
Alfred Kelberry: yaku?
Alfred Kelberry: is my shape ok?
Yakuzza Lethecus: no
Yakuzza Lethecus: ur ruth doggy
Alfred Kelberry: what client do you use?
Alfred Kelberry: i'll take my client rendering as a canonical one :)
Wol Euler laughs.
Alfred Kelberry: can you see what client he's using, woly?
Wol Euler: phoenix but I don't know which version
Alfred Kelberry: ok, we need a v2-er
--BELL--
Wol Euler: touching yourself?
Wol Euler: that makes you go blind :-P
Wol Euler: what horrible things parents say to children, when you think of it.
Wol Euler: "don't suck your thumbs or a man with scissors will come and cut it off"
Yakuzza Lethecus: Hehe :)
Yakuzza Lethecus: Well that's very famous in germany, of course :)
Wol Euler: yeah, england too
Yakuzza Lethecus: I wonder if it's also famous in the usa.
Yakuzza Lethecus: Or do they just have similar stories not based on this book ?
Wol Euler: it probably comes from that source, but I didn't know the name before moving to Germany so I guess we learned a "localized" version :)
Alfred Kelberry: that's horrible indeed :)
Wol Euler: I don't think my parents told us tales like that, they just asked us not to do [whatever]
Alfred Kelberry: all i remember are references to devil from my grandma
Yakuzza Lethecus: thinking of the devil, i read a few weeks ago that in the 80th the russians were supposed to drilled into the hell :)
Yakuzza Lethecus: in their deep ultra deep drilling project at the karelia peninsula
Wol Euler chuckles.
Alfred Kelberry: that'd be neat
Alfred Kelberry: i read there's a new expedition in preparation to mariana trench
Wol Euler: wow
Alfred Kelberry: i'm looking forward to it :)
Wol Euler: manned expedition?
Alfred Kelberry: yes, newly built vessels
Yakuzza Lethecus: oh, kola peninsula
--BELL--
Wol Euler: "If Mount Everest, the highest mountain on Earth at 8,848 metres (29,029 ft), were set in the deepest part of the Mariana Trench, there would be 2,076 metres (6,811 ft) of water left above it."
Alfred Kelberry: pretty much so :)
Alfred Kelberry: geologists say there are possibly deeper trenches somewhere
Alfred Kelberry: we like to think that most of the sea bed is mapped, but it's not. only the main sea routes.
Yakuzza Lethecus: well, we need google sea view submarines then :P
Wol Euler: Branson. Perhaps he'll sell seats
Alfred Kelberry: i respect people who go on exploring the ocean instead of collecting cars
Yakuzza Lethecus: Well, i also like the concept for the Space elevator with nanotube cables :P
Wol Euler: oh, agreed. even if he is driven by a mad raving ego, it would still (probably) be of some benefit ti science
Alfred Kelberry: yaku, yes, that's been around for a long time
Alfred Kelberry: *nods to woly girl*
Yakuzza Lethecus: maybe a space elevator with low risk transportation would also be a good way to get rid of radioactive waste :P
Yakuzza Lethecus: or since we already drilled into hell we could just dispose it there :P
Yakuzza Lethecus: - AAAHHH!! BURN IT!! SEND IT TO HELL!!! -
Wol Euler: the only good solution to radioactive waste is not to create it :-/
Alfred Kelberry: yes, woly
Alfred Kelberry: btw, what was his given the sir title for?
Wol Euler: no idea
Wol Euler: being a friend of Charles, perhaps
Alfred Kelberry: :)
Alfred Kelberry: i have a nice picture of the mariana trench showing its scale...
--BELL--
Wol Euler: Branson was knighted in 1999 for "services to entrepreneurship" <- in ohter words, he got a gong for getting rich :-/
Alfred Kelberry: it described the depth zones
Wol Euler: shhhh
Wol Euler: well, we seem to have exhausted that discussion
Wol Euler: I think I'll go get dressed and have breakfast
Yakuzza Lethecus: you didn't
Wol Euler: not yet, came directly from bed to PaB
Yakuzza Lethecus: take care, get better and cya soonn
Wol Euler: enjoy the weekend
Yakuzza Lethecus: bye boxy
