The Guardian for this meeting was Riddle Sideways. The comments are by Riddle Sideways. In which there is probably great hidden dialog going on.  There is an undertone of looking things up, doing other tasks and IM'ing.  All in all distractions and things said between the lines.

    Riddle Sideways: Hello, Yak
    Yakuzza Lethecus: hey riddle
                         --BELL--
Yakuzza Lethecus: just catching up with all the group messages
Riddle Sideways: you look so well dressed. Are you trying to class up this place?
Yakuzza Lethecus: i don´t even think of my outfit, i am just to lazy to dress casual :)
    Riddle Sideways: :)
Riddle Sideways: some ppl have lots of outfits and change all the time
    Riddle Sideways: not us
Yakuzza Lethecus: well, you have your bee and ur elephant, but yes visuals arene´t as important in secondlife as they are in real life
Yakuzza Lethecus: which is not necesserely a good thing in rl either
Riddle Sideways: yes, In RL we only have the 4-5 avs
    Yakuzza Lethecus: *necessarily
Riddle Sideways: was reading the time book on awareness
Riddle Sideways: and playing with seeing
    Riddle Sideways: again
    Yakuzza Lethecus: which chapter ?
    Riddle Sideways: hmmmm, 13.3+4

Please disregard the following section.  The weirdnesses being seen (but, not into this log) were because translation was on.
Riddle Sideways: why did chat log just double that
Riddle Sideways: excuse me but 1+2
    Riddle Sideways: or 12.3+4
    Riddle Sideways: oh well
Yakuzza Lethecus: you found a bug in the logger ?
    Riddle Sideways: no, found magic
Riddle Sideways: magic = tech that you do not understand yet

Yakuzza Lethecus: what was the last movie that you´ve seen ? thor ?
Riddle Sideways: not seen thor yet
Riddle Sideways: am going to soon
Riddle Sideways: son has to get school work done
Yakuzza Lethecus: well, i knew that comparision before but it was mentioned in the movie quiet often so it triggered
    Riddle Sideways: Hiya, Xirann
    Yakuzza Lethecus: hey xirana
Xirana Oximoxi: Hi Riddle and Yaku, nice to see you:)
Riddle Sideways: we have not been to movie theater in a long time
Riddle Sideways: maybe Inception was the last one
Riddle Sideways: watch a lot of movies at home
Yakuzza Lethecus: Yes, me too, it´s much more comfortable in that way. Especially with modern services like netflix and alike.
    Riddle Sideways: and others :)
Riddle Sideways: need to be careful not to give spoilers away in the log
Yakuzza Lethecus: Well, media addiction is something that i still have and don´t really fight.
Yakuzza Lethecus: I don´t watch regular tv, but i my consumption of drama is a bit too high i guess.
    Riddle Sideways: Hi Observerm
    Yakuzza Lethecus: hi obs

                         --BELL--
Yakuzza Lethecus: Actually SL is good in a way that i don´t have communities here that have an reenforcing effect on media consumption except in more serious forms, before sl i didn´t even know about TED video´s or different other from their tendency better media forms.
Riddle Sideways: have a lot of movis and recorded shows stocked up when need to veg out
Riddle Sideways: well good meaning ppl send youTube links of good stuff
Riddle Sideways: but an hour or two later always end up watching stupid cat vids
Xirana Oximoxi: I usually prefer to read novels.. there is a long time I havr not been to the cinema. But it's because I live far from city
Xirana Oximoxi: I must install a cimena-home here... I lliked cinema very much too
Yakuzza Lethecus: Well, i kind of admire you reading novels :)
    Yakuzza Lethecus: hey alfred
Riddle Sideways: hello little boxy alf

Xirana Oximoxi: television is quite boring here... I can't get a lot of channels
    Xirana Oximoxi: hi Boxy:)
    Alfred Kelberry: wuff!
    Alfred Kelberry: hi :)

Yakuzza Lethecus: It´s propably better to train concentration then to consume and intoxicate ourselfs with medial fastfood
Riddle Sideways: and we have 500 channels on the TV and nothing to watch
Riddle Sideways: and the one-to-many media
Riddle Sideways: alf, what was the last movie you saw
    Riddle Sideways: other then SL
Xirana Oximoxi: lol... I installed satellit tv... but after a stom I think is caput and I haven't repared... I liked to see films in English... to mprove the language
    Xirana Oximoxi: *improve
    Alfred Kelberry: xir :)
    Xirana Oximoxi: :)
Yakuzza Lethecus: Well, that´s still my only justification to watch these things in english as well.
Riddle Sideways: maybe the wind just turned the dish away from good satellite
Alfred Kelberry: xir is cute :)
Xirana Oximoxi: now I practice languages in SL..it's more more fun..and interactive
Riddle Sideways: we watch only english movies and has not improveed language yet
    Riddle Sideways: :)
Yakuzza Lethecus: But i don´t know any shows that implicitly train our grammatical understanding of english.
    Xirana Oximoxi: hehehe :)
    Alfred Kelberry: yaku, grammatical understanding?
Yakuzza Lethecus: yes, to really be able to answer questions about the structure of a language
Riddle Sideways: sentences don't always have teh subject-verb arrangements
Alfred Kelberry: it's not what movies about
Xirana Oximoxi: somehoow... watching tv can even get worse the language... especially some tv programms we call trash_programms
Riddle Sideways: then idiums, typos, puns, etc.
Xirana Oximoxi: like Big brother or the like
Xirana Oximoxi: we have a lot of these here
Yakuzza Lethecus: yes, a new season just started, but i only know it because there are even plakat´s on the streets
Alfred Kelberry: understanding culture is more important (and entertaining) than grammatical structure, i think
Alfred Kelberry: and movies give you a good sense of that
    Riddle Sideways: do they?
Xirana Oximoxi: yes, actually learning a language is focused in culture and speaking.... more than grammar
Yakuzza Lethecus: well, i am not sure about realy understanding a culture through that, but at least it provides a good conversational ground
Xirana Oximoxi: but, grammar is also important, specially if it's so different like German from Spanish
                         --BELL--
Xirana Oximoxi: I think culture is all... cinema, books, food, art, history... as much you know of that from a country, the easier to understand and learn the language
Xirana Oximoxi: and the people!!!... I forgot the most important :)
Yakuzza Lethecus: actually i think movies and tv shows are partly a reason why i thought that all these buddists are strange new age hippies smoking dope
Alfred Kelberry: movies is a huge chunk of culture and gives a pretty good picture overall
    Riddle Sideways: :) yak
Riddle Sideways: and the image you have of california from the movies :]
Alfred Kelberry: it's just like with books or anything. depends on what you read and pick.
Riddle Sideways: tale of two cities?
    Riddle Sideways: Nancy Drew?
Riddle Sideways wonders what "Inception" says about culture
Riddle Sideways: will "Thor" affect our culture
Yakuzza Lethecus: Actually i think about ,,Game of Thrones" much more then about Thor.
Yakuzza Lethecus: Thor is a nice movie to crunch away, action and sillyness. A lot of Stereotypes served.
Xirana Oximoxi: I don't thing a single work of art can affect our culture, but it's sure it reflects the context of the autor... and it also helps ud to understand it
Riddle Sideways: ah maybe this new movie "The Bridemaids" says things about culture
Yakuzza Lethecus: Well, i think a single work can, when made exemplatory, considering how books like snowcrash or 1984.
Riddle Sideways: waiting to read "The Girl who played with Being" :)
Yakuzza Lethecus: I very much had to think about tv and culture when i saw spartacus blood and sand, i was really thinking that we reached the end of it.
                         --BELL--
Riddle Sideways: wow, try google search on "decline of culture"
Xirana Oximoxi: maybe a single work can change and ifluss what follows... there have been in history speaciall books that had opened new ways
    Xirana Oximoxi: *influss
Riddle Sideways: yes, wonder what one is going to be next
    Alfred Kelberry: wikipedia
Riddle Sideways: already here and growing
    Alfred Kelberry: yep
Riddle Sideways: btw, was reading yesterday about Nat.language researchers web scraping wikipedia
Riddle Sideways: very hard to parse
Riddle Sideways: but, there are soooo many medias, artists, writers, shock jocks, talk shows, etc. etc. crying for attention
Riddle Sideways: static on the air around us
Yakuzza Lethecus: recently i thought it´s such a sad thing that i won´t have the same childhood experiences like kids have today, when i was little i STILL had to watch bambi, dumbo, snow white, popey, the smurfs...
Yakuzza Lethecus: of course there was newer stuff too
Xirana Oximoxi: really difficult today with so much informations and works and possibilities.... maybe we will need time to see what has been really important
Yakuzza Lethecus: but today there is so much mediafastfood constantly behind every corner and it´s hard to gain similar and comparable experiences
Yakuzza Lethecus: the ability to relate partly gets harder
Alfred Kelberry: yaku, it is for older generation, but not for the kids
Yakuzza Lethecus: the only reason why i liked michael jackson was that you could talk about him with chinese ppl as well as with south americans
    Alfred Kelberry: :)
    Xirana Oximoxi: :))
Xirana Oximoxi: you can enjoi the experiences of the chils today too... I see my brother havins as much fun as his children with all the games, and tales and so on...
Xirana Oximoxi: so, have a baby...that way you enjoi and you don't seem a child yourself... you are a good father:)))
    Riddle Sideways: :) done that
    Xirana Oximoxi: :)
Yakuzza Lethecus: a friend of mine plays with his son ego shoots eversince his son was 11, of course the games aren´t allowed from that age too but he also accepted the reality that his son would have played those even without his knowledge
                         --BELL--
Xirana Oximoxi: I must go ... have a nice day all and see you soon!! :) and thanks for this nice talk!
    Riddle Sideways: bye
    Yakuzza Lethecus: bye xirana

Riddle Sideways: had never heard of ego shoots
    Yakuzza Lethecus: shooters
Riddle Sideways: oh, two different things
Yakuzza Lethecus: call of duty series, counterstrike, battlefield series
Riddle Sideways: they even have diseases named for some of the first person shooters games

Riddle Sideways: btw - are we all reading google and wikipedia as we chat?
Yakuzza Lethecus: partly yes, but i was looking into different subjects
Yakuzza Lethecus: not forms of addictions at the moment
Riddle Sideways: feel the need to get back to the youTube, TED, sci-fi novel, wired mag., hockey games, wikipedia addictions now

Yakuzza Lethecus: actually pab is interesting since we´re supposed to look closer at the things happen in our environment
Riddle Sideways: yeah, just looked and did not like
Yakuzza Lethecus: into how i percieve the things, how thoughts appear
Riddle Sideways: and how you are aware of them
Riddle Sideways: how they are seen
Yakuzza Lethecus: i am of course not, but to see how i circle
Yakuzza Lethecus: how objects bring up the same thoughts and routines
Yakuzza Lethecus: yesterday i was driving on the autobahn and there was a piece on the autbahn that made me recall a fragment of a radioshow that i heard when i first crossed that area
Yakuzza Lethecus: i don´t have a lactose digest disablity
Yakuzza Lethecus: so i have no clue why i memoriezed that
Yakuzza Lethecus: since the radio show was about that
    Riddle Sideways: spacial memories
                         --BELL--
Riddle Sideways: with audible books, before starting next listen session
Yakuzza Lethecus: or even when i start recalling why i am unhappy with my educational history i wonder if i create a self fullfilling prophecy since when i mention to suck in math and computerscience then i buy into a negative role further
Riddle Sideways: have to remember where was driving last
Riddle Sideways: like: oh yes, was going by neighbors who had an extra car and the alien turned out to have the motive for the murder
    Riddle Sideways: Hi Zon
    Yakuzza Lethecus: hey zon
    Zon Kwan: hey
Yakuzza Lethecus: i have to be afk for a while (dinner)

Yakuzza Lethecus: propably take care everyone, but i leave the avi
Riddle Sideways: cool, that is like an iPad
    Zon Kwan: it is
    Riddle Sideways: a tablet youTube
Zon Kwan: i dont know how to use it though..lol
Riddle Sideways: would be like the big billboard size web browser objects
Riddle Sideways: but small tablet object
Riddle Sideways: 13 minutes from now boxy will create one :)
Riddle Sideways: did you make it
Zon Kwan: it opens a window on utube
Riddle Sideways: we were chatting about media, tv, youTube
Riddle Sideways: you brought it with you
    Zon Kwan: syncronicity
    Riddle Sideways: yep
Riddle Sideways: wanted to be at PaB, but wanted to watch the tube too
Zon is wearing a tablet on left hand, which has typing AO.
Riddle Sideways: ok, that was really a ride... had camera zoomed in on the tablet
Riddle Sideways: your typing AO moved my view all over

Yak and Alf are seeminly AFK, but would be rude not to say bye :)
Riddle Sideways: ok folks, I need to go back to the other media/culture addictions now.
Riddle Sideways: hate to leave you afk here, but ....
Riddle Sideways: thanks for the chat
    Alfred Kelberry: :)
                         --BELL--
    Yakuzza Lethecus: hey alf
