The Guardian for this meeting was Calvino Rabeni. The comments are by Calvino Rabeni.
Archmage Atlantis: namaste, Calvino
Calvino Rabeni: _/!\_
Calvino Rabeni: Archmage
Archmage Atlantis: I was watching 2012, the movie
Calvino Rabeni: Is that a disaster movie?
Archmage Atlantis: Not in tune with the Mayan prophecy
Archmage Atlantis: Yes, it is
Calvino Rabeni: People must be desperate for change
Archmage Atlantis: Yes, I would normally say something that is agreeable, but at this point in time (whatever time is) I agree
Archmage Atlantis: Probably has to do with ageing
Archmage Atlantis: I know that humans have believed that there will be another change
Archmage Atlantis: LIke the burning bush
Archmage Atlantis: Or the flood
Calvino Rabeni: what did the bush do?
Archmage Atlantis: You are familiar with Jewish, Muslim and Christian fables?.......Moses went into the desert and the lord god appeared in a burning bush
Archmage Atlantis: That bush
Archmage Atlantis: not the ones who were presidents
Calvino Rabeni: Hi, Cinda :)
Calvino Rabeni: What do you think the dream of the burning bush is about?
Archmage Atlantis: Hello sister Luci
Lucinda Lavender: Hi Cal Arch...
Archmage Atlantis: It, to me, is about seeing beyond what is now
--BELL--
Lucinda Lavender: Not sure...have not studied the bible but just thinking about the plant being that is a transforming thing...and perhaps able to send out seeds though the transformation.
Lucinda Lavender: what do you think Cal?
Lucinda Lavender: odd! in my new appearance the eyelashes are very big and black!
Archmage Atlantis: Luci, I only see you in my mind......
Lucinda Lavender: well perhaps that is a more accurate apparance
Archmage Atlantis: prthaps
Lucinda Lavender: I went shopping with Paradise:)
Lucinda Lavender: She very generously got me ready for celebrations...
Archmage Atlantis: Nice slave or warrier look Cal.....quite hot
Archmage Atlantis: Oops
Calvino Rabeni: why thank you Archmage
Archmage Atlantis: Because you are a woman, Rhi.....
Lucinda Lavender: hi Rhi:)
Archmage Atlantis: Nope, just differently oriented
Archmage Atlantis: And, Hi, Rhi....you tart you
Calvino Rabeni: DO you need a teleport Rhia
Archmage Atlantis: Dang unsighted peeps
Rhiannon Dragoone: I am on my full viewer, but bandwidth challenged
Archmage Atlantis: *g*
Rhiannon Dragoone: you make a nice tiger, Arch
Archmage Atlantis: ty, it is part of my true selves
Rhiannon Dragoone: yeah, the best avatars are
Archmage Atlantis: Nim and Koya are speaking tho,,,,,,,even as a cat, I can't always interpret their chatter
Archmage Atlantis: And Chester will be here next Sunday
Rhiannon Dragoone: yay, Cal is rezzing.
Rhiannon Dragoone: Still don't see Lucinda
Archmage Atlantis: I see Luci
Archmage Atlantis: she is important to me
Calvino Rabeni: All I see is your feet and hair, Rhia
Rhiannon Dragoone: Arch, how nice for you
Lucinda Lavender: :)
Rhiannon Dragoone: Well, do you see me, Arch? Or am I not important to you. lol
Rhiannon Dragoone: Well, I do have nice hair and feet, Cal, so enjoy
Archmage Atlantis: Rhi, I see the avatar you use, and I see the soul behind it
Archmage Atlantis: It is why is see you all
Rhiannon Dragoone: heh. I guess this means this is the first time I'm here modestly. Should hve been this way the other night for Gaya.
Rhiannon Dragoone: awww; that is sweet, Arcch
Lucinda Lavender: I see everyone...
Rhiannon Dragoone: well, Luc just dropped from the sky and is a cloud
Archmage Atlantis: I believe you do, Luci
Rhiannon Dragoone: So soonh...
Rhiannon Dragoone: Arch is tboned still
--BELL--
What to do with a general climate of fatigue? We're not on payroll, this ain't no seminar, so why not treat the organism kindly, as in a daycare center for adults, with story time and a nap...
Lucinda Lavender: hmmm a story for Cal...wish I had one...am very tired this eve
Rhiannon Dragoone: Your hair and skirt are rezzed now, Luc.
Lucinda Lavender: ah! cool
Calvino Rabeni: we could skip the story and get right to the nap
Lucinda Lavender: :) great Idea
Archmage Atlantis: The dreams will come (ty sspear)
Rhiannon Dragoone: hmmm. And I need to make dinner soon
Lucinda Lavender: let's try napping while sitting
Calvino Rabeni: sounds good maybe we'll harvest some fresh dreams
Archmage Atlantis: Time to say nitey nite
Lucinda Lavender: nitely nite Arch:)
Calvino Rabeni: Sleep well Archmage
Lucinda Lavender: may it be a nice one for you
Rhiannon Dragoone: nite, Arch
Rhiannon Dragoone: well, my dog is barking to get in, and I promised Rosalyn I'd make dinner; so I will be going soon
Calvino Rabeni: Bon appetit
Lucinda Lavender: may you have a nice dinner Rhi...what might it be?
Rhiannon Dragoone: that's what i have to figure out; probably macaroni, cheese, and hotdogs, followed by a fruit salad. Oh, and peas and carrots in the macaroni and cheese
Lucinda Lavender: yum:)
Calvino Rabeni: sounds like a picnic meal
Lucinda Lavender: yup
Calvino Rabeni: what kind of wine goes with hotdogs?
Lucinda Lavender: hmmmnot sure
Lucinda Lavender: maybe a beer
Lucinda Lavender: or lemonade...or both together
Rhiannon Dragoone: Cal, well, we just drink water or orange juice
Rhiannon Dragoone: But it would be the same as with steak, I should think
--BELL--
Moses' dream may have been voiced by a burning bush but this one is timed by a not-to-be-burned gift pie steaming in the oven while the previous year's plum harvest slowly ferments and ripens a second time.
Lucinda Lavender: I am waiting as a rhubarb apple pie bakes...
Calvino Rabeni: How's the plum wine aging?
Lucinda Lavender: just fine I think...
Rhiannon Dragoone: Bye all!
Calvino Rabeni: Bye, enjoy
Lucinda Lavender: by Rhi:)
Lucinda Lavender: speaking of dreaming...do you ever find that as you sleep there are the sound of perople talking to each other as if in conversation...in your consciousness?
Lucinda Lavender: I noticed that this happens alot to me...like I am listening to a radio or something...dialogue is in there
Calvino Rabeni: Do you retain the knowledge of these internal dialogues?
Lucinda Lavender: I don't usually really process what it is tho...
Lucinda Lavender: not but a little part
Lucinda Lavender: where I am becoming aware of it
Lucinda Lavender: when I was on the airplane actually sleeping I noticed it
Calvino Rabeni: I think the noise helps a lot
Lucinda Lavender: it did not appear to be anyone I could hear for real tho
Lucinda Lavender: airplane noise?
Calvino Rabeni: Yes
Lucinda Lavender: ah...interesting
Calvino Rabeni: a running faucet might also help
Lucinda Lavender: some kind of ambient noise canceling out ?
Calvino Rabeni: or if one took a whistling tea kettle set on very low heat, so it just went oooohh instead of whistling
Lucinda Lavender: yeah!
Calvino Rabeni: The ambient noise would be like the way that faces and shapes appear in clouds or wood grain such as plywood
Lucinda Lavender: I think it does have something to do with the ability of going to some other level or channel
Calvino Rabeni: 2 b || ! 2 b - To sleep: perchance to dream: ay, there's the rub; For in that sleep of death what dreams may come
Lucinda Lavender: must go check pie...brb
Lucinda Lavender: looking good
Calvino Rabeni: special holiday pie?
Calvino Rabeni: gift pie?
Lucinda Lavender: using up my daughters freezer
Lucinda Lavender: yes tomorrow night will take it to a couples house who has been very gracious and helpful to us
Lucinda Lavender: will help us do the move
Lucinda Lavender: graduation pie:)
Calvino Rabeni: that is very civil
Lucinda Lavender: yes!!!
Calvino Rabeni: you're away from home?
Lucinda Lavender: Deleware
Lucinda Lavender: then off to NYC
Lucinda Lavender: on Wed
--BELL--
Calvino Rabeni: Perhaps you'll have time for some sight seeing?
Calvino Rabeni: I'm doing a masonry project ... it's exciting to create a mould and then pour in something that hardens like stone and lasts a long time
Lucinda Lavender: nice!
Calvino Rabeni: DC has great low cost or free museums
Lucinda Lavender: I won't be going there this trip tho...some day I hope
Lucinda Lavender: well better check the pie again!
Calvino Rabeni: I saw a play - The Language Archive - lots of commentary on the subjective effects of language
Lucinda Lavender: really! sounds interesting
Lucinda Lavender: tell me more while I brb
Calvino Rabeni: it seemed creative
Calvino Rabeni: sometimes the characters would freeze, except for one, who would talk to the audience as if it were the listener for the internal dialogue
Lucinda Lavender: ah...
Lucinda Lavender: interesting to hear what goes on inside people's heads
Calvino Rabeni: and the lights would go dark, except one spot, where it would be a little floating sub-world
Lucinda Lavender: nodding:)
Lucinda Lavender: very dreamy
Calvino Rabeni: yes dreamy, like seeing the dream behind the words
Calvino Rabeni: And there would be stops in the conversation, where one character would walk here and there doing a dialogue with the audience while the other speakers were suspended
Lucinda Lavender: were there any certain ones you related to?
Calvino Rabeni: Not really, but it did point out some cultural attitudes that are part of language use.
Lucinda Lavender: nodding
Calvino Rabeni: Like "Everyone knows, when you say something in English, you don't really mean it" (spoken by someone who learned English as a second language)
The earnest Linguist asks the last native speakers of a soon-to-be-extinct language: "Are there some words in your tongue that have no English equivalent?" / "Why yes, of course!" / "Oh, which are they?" / "Well, all of them!"
Lucinda Lavender: hmm why is that?
Lucinda Lavender: because the words do not appear to apply?
Calvino Rabeni: perhaps because it is the language of commerce and politics?
Lucinda Lavender: ah...
Lucinda Lavender: making the world develop...
Lucinda Lavender: the new world language
Calvino Rabeni: Yes, focusing on the To Be rather than the Is
Lucinda Lavender: saw at Winterthur a rebus picture of the us speaking to England and England speaking to the us
Lucinda Lavender: too small to acutally read for me
Calvino Rabeni: antique?
Lucinda Lavender: yes
Lucinda Lavender: must check the pie again:)
Calvino Rabeni: I've only once seen history portrayed as a musical
--BELL--
Calvino Rabeni: with the delegates from the Constitutional Convention getting up on the table to sing and dance to make a point more dramatically.
Lucinda Lavender: which?
Calvino Rabeni: 1776
Lucinda Lavender: ah ha ha ha
Calvino Rabeni: I will take leave of you while you check the pie. Enjoy the rest of your visit and travels, Cinda
Lucinda Lavender: thanks sweet dreams for you too:)
Calvino Rabeni: Thanks :)
