Eliza Madrigal smiles at Pema's typo
    Pema Pera: hahaha
Maxine Walden: ah, Lucid as in dreaming!
    Bleu Oleander: Ha!
Pema Pera: didn't even notice it
    Eliza Madrigal: :))
    --BELL--
    Bleu Oleander: ^______^
Pema Pera not very lucid at 11 pm :-)
    Maxine Walden: ah, the unconscious....
    Xirana Oximoxi: :)
Pema Pera: ah, an alligator, Bleu
    Maxine Walden: bye all
    Pema Pera: very nice
    Xirana Oximoxi: bye bye all:)
Eliza Madrigal: Bye Maxine, Blee, Pema :)
    Bleu Oleander: bye bye
    Darren Islar: bye everone :)
Lucinda Lavender: Have a great weekend all:)
Eliza Madrigal: I should never eat chocolate covered almonds for breakfast
    Xirana Oximoxi: lol... why?
Eliza Madrigal: needed a clearer head for this mornings session, hehe
    Xirana Oximoxi: ah yes!
    Eliza Madrigal: Hi Samuo!
Xirana Oximoxi: this sessions I must read later slowly
Lucinda Lavender: I notice ...HI Samuo:)
    oO0Oo Resident: :) hi everyone
Xirana Oximoxi: hi 0Samúo:) nice to see you
    oO0Oo Resident: ntsy2!
    Darren Islar: hi Sam :)
Lucinda Lavender: Would you be able to say much about the discussion in the previous hour Eliza?
Xirana Oximoxi: and sometimes comments seems quite surrealistic to me:) maybe because of my bad English:)
Eliza Madrigal: Hmmm.... Well it is like a rorshack perhaps... we may all have heard something very different
Eliza Madrigal: Pema wrote this week about taking e
    Eliza Madrigal: -e
    Eliza Madrigal: "stillness snacks"
    Lucinda Lavender: hmmm
Eliza Madrigal: about deep stillness breaths, going about the day...
Lucinda Lavender: ways to incorporate the pauses
Lucinda Lavender: and allow for some kind of digestion:)
Xirana Oximoxi: different ways to be still...like an alligator that's ready to 'hunt'
    Eliza Madrigal: :))
Eliza Madrigal: yes, what do we notice about ourselves and our way in/with world in those moments?
Xirana Oximoxi: ot leting stilness flow naturally
Lucinda Lavender: I sort of get that...
    Eliza Madrigal: mmmm
Lucinda Lavender: alligators hunting get very still I suppose
Eliza Madrigal nods. Pema likened that sort of still to having a goal... a sort of closed stillness...
Lucinda Lavender: so they can gather energy
Eliza Madrigal: it is their way
Lucinda Lavender: stillness that is not outwardly focussed
Eliza Madrigal: which seems right in the alligator's context?
oO0Oo Resident: Lucinda'< [alligator takes stillness snack]
Darren Islar: it's focussed on prey
    Lucinda Lavender: ah
    Xirana Oximoxi: :)))
    Eliza Madrigal: :)))
Eliza Madrigal: the alligator doesn't really seem to be strategizing.... not preoccupied before or after perhaps
    oO0Oo Resident: :)
Darren Islar: no, it does, that's all (last meaning actually in a positive context)
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Darren Islar: except not being aware about it
    Darren Islar: *of
Eliza Madrigal: yes, capcity for awareness seems what Pema is beginning to write about now....
    Darren Islar: I see
Eliza Madrigal: when we get allow stillness to 'get to us' .... what does it show up
Darren Islar: but i actually think Eliza that both stillnesses are complenting each other
    Darren Islar: complementing
    Eliza Madrigal: agree Darren!
Lucinda Lavender: can you say what the two kinds are again...
    Lucinda Lavender: ?
Xirana Oximoxi: probably to be aware of things we must stop and be calm ...
    Lucinda Lavender: please?
Darren Islar: the one is open minded, being aware without a particular focus, letting in
Darren Islar: the other one is very particularly focussed, so in a way closed, concentrated on one thing, not letting other things in
    --BELL--
Darren Islar: (please correct me If I'm wrong)
Xirana Oximoxi: that's what I've understood panther, but now much better:)
    Darren Islar: :)
Eliza Madrigal: the parallel might be made to relative (closed ended) time and timelessness, and the way they might play and converse together
    Xirana Oximoxi: :)
    Darren Islar nods
Darren Islar: it's a duality thingy
    Lucinda Lavender: :))
Darren Islar: to use a big word (sighs, not liking big words :))
    oO0Oo Resident: hehehe
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Lucinda Lavender: perhaps we could create an image in words that expresses it
Darren Islar: hmmmm, that would be nice
Lucinda Lavender: good exersize...for my brain
Eliza Madrigal: I feel compelled to clarify my sentence above, that timelessness would not be some 'thing' so the analogy breaks down :)
    Lucinda Lavender: right..understood
    Eliza Madrigal: ty :)
Lucinda Lavender: as much as my morning brain can
Darren Islar: I know Eliza, but had no other word.....
Darren Islar: because i think no word would describe it correctly
    Eliza Madrigal nods
    Xirana Oximoxi: hi aganin Bruce:)
Eliza Madrigal: Welcome Back Bruce :)
    oO0Oo Resident: notness?
    Darren Islar: notness :)
Bruce Mowbray: thanks! good to be back -- the snacking is great here!
    Xirana Oximoxi: :))
    Eliza Madrigal: hehe
    Darren Islar: hehehe Bruce
    oO0Oo Resident giggles
    oO0Oo Resident: hi Bruce
Lucinda Lavender: stillness seems like formless silly putty mixing widely and narrowly as needed
Darren Islar: it is, but I'm afraid i need to go
Bruce Mowbray: bye Darren -- and thanks !
Darren Islar: beauty sleep (flips his hair over his shoulder :))
    Eliza Madrigal: Bye Darren :)
    Eliza Madrigal: hehe
Xirana Oximoxi: bye leaping, take care:)
Darren Islar: have some good snacks :)
    Xirana Oximoxi: ty, you too:)
    Lucinda Lavender: Sleep in beauty
Eliza Madrigal: cute, Luci... creative quality
    oO0Oo Resident: bye Darren .. :)
Eliza Madrigal: What I noticed this week, was how stopping (or slowing) , shows up how 'normally' habitual I am...
Lucinda Lavender: in terms of a general flow you operate in?
    Eliza Madrigal: yes, grooves
Eliza Madrigal: and it was really cute that I then checked the logs and read the discussion taking place in another session with Samuo, Steve, and Arch ...
Lucinda Lavender: first this then that
oO0Oo Resident imagines Eliza arranging flowers
    oO0Oo Resident: :)
    Eliza Madrigal: :)))
oO0Oo Resident: or do the flowers suggest an arrangement
    oO0Oo Resident: ?
Lucinda Lavender: what did they say luci is wondering?
    Xirana Oximoxi: nice image, Samuo:)
Eliza Madrigal: when we slow down it seems to 'make way' for more options
Eliza Madrigal: surprising openings, creativites.... Let me find the lines....
    Eliza Madrigal: (one sec)
    Xirana Oximoxi: k
    Xirana Oximoxi: :)
Bruce Mowbray: I'm just come from Soul's Journey morning meditation, and this was our centering thought --
    Lucinda Lavender: listens
Bruce Mowbray: it seems to fit in well with Eliza's experience of still-awareness ----
Bruce Mowbray: Peace is every step. The shining red sun is my heart. Each flower smiles with me. How green, how fresh all that grows. How cool the wind blows. Peace is every step. It turns the endless path to joy. ---THICH NATH HANH---
Lucinda Lavender: thanks Bruce for sharing that!
    Eliza Madrigal: Beautiful!
    oO0Oo Resident: yes!
    --BELL--
Lucinda Lavender: more coffee for me to now brb
Xirana Oximoxi: yes! really nice!... being aware of nature's beauty is an approach to peace
Eliza Madrigal: [found the discussion] Samuo, I deeply hope you don't mind my transplanting these lines, but it points to something so much the heart....
Bruce Mowbray: Hey, Aph! Good morning.
    Xirana Oximoxi: hi Aph:)
    Aphrodite Macbain: Hello everyone
oO0Oo Resident puts out hands palms up to Eliza :)
Eliza Madrigal smiles. Thank you :)) And Hi Aph :))
    Eliza Madrigal: OK....

    Eliza Madrigal:
stevenaia Michinaga: the universe offers alternatives, the choice has been made before you select only what is before you
Archmage Atlantis: At times, yes, that can be true
stevenaia Michinaga: you see a cat, you call the cat, the cat comes or does not
oO0Oo Resident: you see a cat.. you wish for its happiness.. whatever happens happens
Archmage Atlantis: I do not see the cat, the cat comes, I find it in my arms....then it leaves.....
    Archmage Atlantis: ty schroedinger
oO0Oo Resident: are these portraits of us lol
    Archmage Atlantis: yes
stevenaia Michinaga: is this a cat person session?

oO0Oo Resident: i am haunted by feeling so repetitive in my personality and expressions
stevenaia Michinaga: can you say more Sam?
Archmage Atlantis: Yes, Samúð, please do
oO0Oo Resident: i feel at times limited.. even revulsion for my patterns of being
oO0Oo Resident: responding in same ways
    oO0Oo Resident: with similar words
    oO0Oo Resident: and timings
stevenaia Michinaga: what are your "patterns of being"?
    oO0Oo Resident: good question
    stevenaia Michinaga: :)
    (END quote)

    Lucinda Lavender: Hi Aph:)
    Aphrodite Macbain: Hi Eliza
    oO0Oo Resident: hi Aph :)
Eliza Madrigal: (bit longer than I realized, hah)
Eliza Madrigal: but it is this feeling... when awareness shows up we are sometimes so struck
Eliza Madrigal: for me it can feel embarrassing, like I want to shrink, to hide
    Lucinda Lavender: interesting
Eliza Madrigal: but have to sort of smile and be compassionate for myself and grateful for the gift
Lucinda Lavender: and what if we are mixing with the gift
Aphrodite Macbain: Hi Sam, can you say more about these patters?
    Aphrodite Macbain: patterns
    Eliza Madrigal: mmm Luci
Bruce Mowbray: I also read that (yesterday) and was struck by : i feel at times limited.. even revulsion for my patterns of being oO0Oo Resident: responding in same ways"
    Eliza Madrigal listens
Bruce Mowbray: since I feel that same way much of the time.
    Eliza Madrigal nods nods
Bruce Mowbray listens intently to oO0Oo
Aphrodite Macbain: Like we have no authentic reponse but prepared ones?
    Lucinda Lavender: ahhhh
Bruce Mowbray: for me, yes, Aph -- just a series of habits.
oO0Oo Resident feels impulse to type a colon and right parenthesis... but... doesn't
    Bruce Mowbray continues listening. ..
    Aphrodite Macbain: ):
oO0Oo Resident: which is still a pattern lol
    Eliza Madrigal: :))
    Aphrodite Macbain: (:
    oO0Oo Resident smiles... a gift
Lucinda Lavender: it has become the pattern for me to type those too...
Bruce Mowbray: What if the "patterened reponses" were NOT reactive (or self-loathing) --
oO0Oo Resident: thing is... there is an identity snack break or something
Bruce Mowbray: what if we habituated ourselves to responding with joy, compassion, loving-kindness.
Aphrodite Macbain: is the solution to type new patterns? or to not worry about it?
Lucinda Lavender: sometimes perhaps what is feared is that the pattern is not real in some sense
Bruce Mowbray: would those "habitual responses" be all right?
    Eliza Madrigal smiles!!
Eliza Madrigal: snack break from identity
    oO0Oo Resident: it's the 'gap'
    Lucinda Lavender: nods
Eliza Madrigal: an opening 'this doesn't have to go the same/usual way'
oO0Oo Resident: if not what i have always done... then what?
Bruce Mowbray thinks - Yes, the snacks are DEFINITELY better here.
    Eliza Madrigal: hmm
    Lucinda Lavender: :)))
oO0Oo Resident: just to be aware
Aphrodite Macbain: /e starts to feel hungry
    Eliza Madrigal: bewildering
    oO0Oo Resident: mhmm
    oO0Oo Resident: even before bewildering
Lucinda Lavender: well I feel that stillness and awareness of the habitual is full of potential..
    oO0Oo Resident: yes... totally
    Lucinda Lavender: potentialness snacks
    Eliza Madrigal: :))
Aphrodite Macbain: does it not depend on what the habit is? Perhaps some habits can be maintained.
oO0Oo Resident: total potential is there
Xirana Oximoxi: we need some habits... but not to feel prisoner of them
oO0Oo Resident: i'll hang on to breathing for as long as that lasts ;)
Lucinda Lavender: yes...there are some habits that serve us
Lucinda Lavender: and some that are so inhibiting
Eliza Madrigal: yes, maybe some habits just need breathing room, loosening, while others could make way
Eliza Madrigal: I really recognized the 'deflecting' tendency as well, covering up the natural tenderness with humor or distraction...
Aphrodite Macbain: perhaps they need to be taken out and dusted from time to time
Eliza Madrigal: 'pay no attention to the man behind the curtain'
    Eliza Madrigal: :) Aph
oO0Oo Resident: imagine YOU noticing that
    oO0Oo Resident: :)
Lucinda Lavender: and for me feeling separate from others does not serve me
    Aphrodite Macbain: (-:
Bruce Mowbray: Just after Gandhi was shot and in the second before he died, he is reputed to have prayed, "Ram" --- and that seems to have been a "habit" with him throughout life.
    --BELL--
    oO0Oo Resident: Lucinda.< - Ram
Xirana Oximoxi: I must go, nice day to all and see you soon! :)
Eliza Madrigal: :) a groove but not habitual/heedless
Aphrodite Macbain: Perhaps habitual speach and action comes when we are not mindful
Eliza Madrigal: Bye Xirana, nice to see you
    Xirana Oximoxi: bye:
    Aphrodite Macbain: Bye
    Aphrodite Macbain: Bye! Xirana
    Bruce Mowbray: Bye, Xir.
    oO0Oo Resident: bye Xirana :)
Aphrodite Macbain: and when we are swept away by passion
Lucinda Lavender: yes aph...luci types with cat on shoulder purring:)
    Eliza Madrigal: :
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Aphrodite Macbain: that would help :-)
Eliza Madrigal: re separation from others, this awareness seems so powerful there... like in a conversation with someone there is a patern of discord with... 'this conversation doesn't have to go the familiar road'
Aphrodite Macbain: yes- but how to change that?
Lucinda Lavender: yes...and neither does my mental road...
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
    Lucinda Lavender: new terretry available
Aphrodite Macbain: perhaps we need to check out the signposts more carefully
    Eliza Madrigal: hm, nods
Eliza Madrigal: I can think of times when this happened... but can never repeat it occasion to occasion the same way :)
    Lucinda Lavender: yes...
    Lucinda Lavender: hard to do
Lucinda Lavender: when taking my daughter to college first year...
Lucinda Lavender: many feelings came up...
Aphrodite Macbain: Hello Puntuka, please join us
Lucinda Lavender: so much learned there...
    Aphrodite Macbain listens to Luci
    Lucinda Lavender: hi putuka:)
    Eliza Madrigal: Hi Puntuka :)
    oO0Oo Resident: hello Puntuka
Eliza Madrigal listens to Luci (please continue will give a note to Puntuka)
Puntuka Adzior: it has been sometime since my last visit
    Aphrodite Macbain: welocme back
    Aphrodite Macbain: *welcome
Aphrodite Macbain: what kind of feelings Luci?
Lucinda Lavender: well I was watching how other parent were saying goodbye..and wondering if our way was"right"...very strange experience...and Katrina was entering new orleans at the same time
Lucinda Lavender: just extremely powerful experience of what my limitations are I guess...and cruising through to the otherside of it
Aphrodite Macbain was not aware that people say goodbye differently
Eliza Madrigal: hmmmm, how odd, to notice that Luci
    Eliza Madrigal: and so interesting
Lucinda Lavender: participating in a big moment for the so many people
    Eliza Madrigal: yes
Bruce Mowbray: oh yes -- I recently had a similar experience saying goodbye to my brother.
Aphrodite Macbain: wanting to do it "right"
Bruce Mowbray: He didn't want to hug but I did.
    Aphrodite Macbain: :-)
    Lucinda Lavender: yes!!
    Eliza Madrigal: ) Bruce
    Eliza Madrigal: who won?
    Eliza Madrigal: :))
Aphrodite Macbain: bet the hugger did!
Lucinda Lavender: poinient(can't spell that) moments
Bruce Mowbray: He ducked his head and closed his eyes -- and tolerated my hugging him -- for about one second.
Bruce Mowbray: but that was good enough for me.
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Aphrodite Macbain: hehe Hope all went well for you both during his visit
Eliza Madrigal: it may mean more to him than he'll ever tell you Bruce
    Aphrodite Macbain: yes Eliza
Lucinda Lavender: need to go now...
Bruce Mowbray: so, Luci, how did it turn out with your daughter?
Eliza Madrigal: Have a lovely day Luci :)
Aphrodite Macbain: off to teach or to sing?
Bruce Mowbray: OH sry. Bye, then, Luci.
    oO0Oo Resident: (((luci)))
Puntuka Adzior: also no man is truly restricted by time we are only blinded by time
    Aphrodite Macbain: Bye
    Aphrodite Macbain: Bye!
Lucinda Lavender: well I went to the bookstore of the college and bought a book by Deepak Chopra about desire...I read it for the whole trip home and was immensly assisted as I waited in the airport with so many whose travel plans had been changed.
    Aphrodite Macbain: yes Puntuka
Aphrodite Macbain: Isn't she wonderful Luci?
Eliza Madrigal: Oh, will ask you about the book some time Luci! :)
Aphrodite Macbain: what is it called
Lucinda Lavender: decided not to choose the judgement aimed at myself
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
    oO0Oo Resident: :) Luci.. (warrior)
Lucinda Lavender: The Spontaneous fullfillment of Desaire
Bruce Mowbray: wonderful, Luci -- That is a life-long lesson for me.
    Lucinda Lavender: Desire
    Aphrodite Macbain makes a note
Eliza Madrigal: thanks so much for sharing that Luci
Puntuka Adzior: I am unaware if my mother has judged herself for descisions shep made on my behalf but I can tell you I have made her know I appreciate it now only 5 years later
    Aphrodite Macbain smiles at Puntuka
    Lucinda Lavender: so nice puntuka:)
    Lucinda Lavender: nice Puntuka
    Eliza Madrigal: :) Puntuka
    Lucinda Lavender: lagging here:)
    --BELL--
    Bruce Mowbray: great, Puntuka.
Bruce Mowbray: Going to run over to Boxy's prim w/s now -- and see if he's there. . .
Aphrodite Macbain: Going to build something?
Eliza Madrigal: Bye Bruce :) Have fun, and Hi to Sunshine too
Lucinda Lavender: thinking about a bumpersticker...I may be slow but I am synchronizing my self with the universe:)
    Aphrodite Macbain: Bye
Aphrodite Macbain: CU later Bruce Bye!
Bruce Mowbray: May we all walk in beauty this day -- munching stillness-awareness snacks all alongt the way.
    Eliza Madrigal: :)))
    Lucinda Lavender: for sure Bruce
    Aphrodite Macbain: ha ha Luci
    Eliza Madrigal: :::bows::::::
    Aphrodite Macbain: :-) Bruce
    Lucinda Lavender: bows too
Bruce Mowbray: Do come back when you can, Puntuka.
oO0Oo Resident: ty Bruce... and Luci :)
    Lucinda Lavender: off to work!
    Puntuka Adzior: i will
    Aphrodite Macbain: Bye
    Aphrodite Macbain: Bye!
    Puntuka Adzior: more
    Eliza Madrigal: thanks Luci
Puntuka Adzior: thank you and namaste
Eliza Madrigal: am smiling so much, thanks everyone... have a few hours to snack and work
    Eliza Madrigal: lovely conversation

oO0Oo Resident: ntsy Puntuka ... tc
Aphrodite Macbain: yes I'm glad I made it today
Eliza Madrigal: :) rare for both of you to be at a 7am! :))
    Aphrodite Macbain: strange isn't it!
    Eliza Madrigal: yes, wonderfully strange
oO0Oo Resident does not keep track
Aphrodite Macbain: I'm excited about the retreat this month Eliza. May I help in any way?
    Eliza Madrigal: off road adventurer
oO0Oo Resident: but remebers tea with Aph and Eliza at zen retreat
Eliza Madrigal: :)) that was lovely
Aphrodite Macbain: here we are again
    Aphrodite Macbain: tea anyone?
    Aphrodite Macbain: Hello Arch
