[01:06] Rhiannon Dragoone: I think it did; sound seems very bandwidth intensive; I guess on top of graphics, anyway

[01:10] Rhiannon Dragoone: I always found latex to ber hot and uncomfortable irl; that's one neat thing about sl; your clothes are always comfortable, even if they sometimes don't fit and need adjustment.

[01:11] Rhiannon Dragoone: A lot of adjustment sometimes, which is another reason I don't wear them; saves time

[01:13] Wol Euler: so I think it's about not seeing, not realizing
[01:14] Rhiannon Dragoone: It's about whether you're an immersive too; immrsives care about how they look, as this is where they live, when they are here

[01:14] Wol Euler: yes but: many of them have been RL female
[01:15] Rhiannon Dragoone: And philosophers here are like philosophers irl, the seedy, tweedy or frumpy, dumpy look
[01:15] Rhiannon Dragoone: yeah, we import are values; and you can tell if someone is a guy or a girl sometimes but how much they care about their apperance.

[01:16] Wol Euler: I know plenty of RL women who wear slider clothes and hair (I'Ve met them in RL)

[01:17] Wol Euler: and quite a few RL males who play women, who dress exquisitely

[01:18] Wol Euler: for those who think it is IM wiht pictures, I can see that the picture might be meaningless
[01:18] Wol Euler: or perhaps they are gamers, used to avatars whose appearance is dictated by your standing in the game's progression
[01:18] Rhiannon Dragoone: well, yeah, that's true; but immersivity, gender, and vanity all blend in, I'd say
[01:19] Rhiannon Dragoone: yeah, and that's in a sense true here, as the older you get, the more care you take about your appearance; well, compared to newbies
[01:19] Wol Euler: World of Warcraft allows only tiny modifications to your avatar's appearance, for dxample

[01:20] Wol Euler: so people in WoW learn not to care much about how people actually *look* but only to see what their appearance says about their status
[01:20] Wol Euler: like you can tell a top-level pro player from too far away to read their nametag
[01:20] Rhiannon Dragoone: I'd say here, a lot of people visually cue to you; like I know I do.

[01:20] Rhiannon Dragoone: And those who think avatars represent the person--are the person in sl, their apperance becomes important

[01:21] Wol Euler: if you see someone who's taken care with their appearance,you have found an immersivist :)
[01:21] Rhiannon Dragoone: And not to be repeititous, but when you're nude here, you're really nude for a lot of people

[01:22] Rhiannon Dragoone: I do think yu can be a mixture of types, and Pam even agrees
[01:23] Rhiannon Dragoone: Well, a couple of things; being banned from a community I worked to build up, but also when Rosalyn had her stroke, suddenly rl beccame very important, so I tend to come to sl with specific goals now, and achieve them.
