Paradise Tennant: my current focus :) well been my focus for quite awhile really :)
Calvino Rabeni: yes, that's interesting how on one level a focus and steady intent enables on another level, surrender and sponeaneity

Calvino Rabeni: My meditation lately is on engagement with what is physically

Calvino Rabeni: like the tao of manual labor
Paradise Tennant: bliss in housework :)
Calvino Rabeni: I like ones that are somewhat new and challenging
Calvino Rabeni: that I don't have habits for
Calvino Rabeni: or are challenging enough to stress the existing habits
Calvino Rabeni: call up new ones to be constructed while the old ones change
Calvino Rabeni: for instance, spontaneous dance with a large group of people is hyper complex
Paradise Tennant: smiles not sure I have ever spontaneously danced with a large group of people
Calvino Rabeni: and something that is not social .. another example is, I was cutting up a tree, taking the branches apart into smaller ones, separating it from its backdrop, arranging it,
Calvino Rabeni: bringing it to a sorted state
Calvino Rabeni: and the intelligence of the bodymind emerges in each of these activities
Paradise Tennant: yes when you really get into athletics your body hones itself there is an extra depth to balance .. energy .. always feel more in my body
Calvino Rabeni: taking a field awareness and being responsive to the conditions
Calvino Rabeni: I think I quoted this last week, about the conversational nature of reality

Paradise Tennant: yes .. the underlying .. reason for there being no choice but surrender

Calvino Rabeni: is an active surrender that has room for each party to the transactions to be completely active
Paradise Tennant: .. swelling prescence .. the chorus drowning out our solo voice ;))
Calvino Rabeni: I think partner dancing is a really good metaphor for that way of being
Calvino Rabeni: or a choir
Paradise Tennant: yes both .. good examples
Calvino Rabeni: and I don't feel solo gets drowned out, but joines the chorus
Calvino Rabeni: it is an amazing thing about sound that all the voices interpenetrate and don't interfere at all :)
Paradise Tennant: have never really felt that alone . always felt some kind of other level of prescence
Calvino Rabeni: resulting in more or less harmony I suppose

Calvino Rabeni: This dance event I like best is called Body Choir
Calvino Rabeni: which has that multi-voice principle
Paradise Tennant: what is body choir ?
Calvino Rabeni: Body Choir is one of about 5 different "authentic dance" events that happen in this small town
Calvino Rabeni: Since its a small town there's usually the same cast of characters
Calvino Rabeni: but the "conductors" are different and bring a different kind of style or tone to it
Calvino Rabeni: I find that fascinating

Calvino Rabeni: yes, sparks, energies, a different tao for each
Calvino Rabeni: It's a bit like an experiment in the sense that, it repeats week after week, year after year, so the same recipe gets repeated
Calvino Rabeni: like cooking, you can make chicken soup many times, and it comes out the same-but-different

Paradise Tennant: no dish ever turns out exactly the same :)
Calvino Rabeni: I was looking at the same mountain day after day
Calvino Rabeni: it never looks the same
