Calvino Rabeni: it's surprising there is so much difference and distinction between the different roses
Calvino Rabeni: tell me, is it your impression that different colours have distinct scents?
Aphrodite Macbain: I wish I had a little plot of land to grow roses on. Yes, it would be nice to understand the differences
Calvino Rabeni: It seems to me to be so, year after year
Aphrodite Macbain: Hmm. I find that the older the rose the more scent it has
Calvino Rabeni: but others I asked - more expert than I perhaps, claimed not
Calvino Rabeni: After sampling all the colors, I'd say there doesn't seem to be any specific "rose" scent I could find, that they have in common
Aphrodite Macbain: that colour is not a determinant of scent?
Calvino Rabeni: Yes
Calvino Rabeni: somehow to me it seems that way
Calvino Rabeni: if not a determinant, then a correspondance
Aphrodite Macbain: The scent determines how many bees and butterflies visit the ros I would think
Aphrodite Macbain: So the sweeter smelling s/b the hardiest
Aphrodite Macbain: That's my theory and I'm sticking to it!
Calvino Rabeni: Like little wild roses being the "fiercest" ? :)
Aphrodite Macbain: :-) more thorns too I would think!
Calvino Rabeni: Thinks of how savage seems the tiny chihuahua compared to the mellow laborador retriever

Paradise Tennant: smiles yes have family in town we have doing lots of the jazz concerts .. about towning stuff ..took two days of work so still on holiday tomorrow been serious fun :)

Paradise Tennant: fireworks better at a distance .. once watched a fireworks display at a little town up north put on by the local fire department whole town was on the beach watching .. blankets chairs coolers .. they set their own barge on fire :)))

Calvino Rabeni: Got a few good ones that way, but have to be ready to react
Aphrodite Macbain: I find they fill up my C drive
Paradise Tennant: hmmm have not set up any particular order have lots of pics
Paradise Tennant: like them .. a lot .. they take you back to the moment

Paradise Tennant: yes I have some old photo albums ..tin types even of family .. I put together a famly album for my brother one year that had portraits of all our family going back before there were even tin types just water colours :)

Paradise Tennant: he has always travelled a lot .. so nice to have something that holds your roots in one spot :)

stevenaia Michinaga: the computers tell you who people are, can;t say I used it, unless they can identify relatives I keep forgetting
Calvino Rabeni: and the software wanted me to assign a name

Calvino Rabeni: turned out it was Colonel Sanders, the chicken magnate

Calvino Rabeni: When Youtube first came out, I didn't see what might emerge from it ... like having a cross section index of a specific aspect of culture
Calvino Rabeni: I thought - not so cool except for funny pet tricks
Calvino Rabeni: but it turned out to afford lots of creative conversations as well as interesting studies

Calvino Rabeni: you can see all the versions of a famous soliloquy

Paradise Tennant: love youtube it like a window into someone else's world plus I could not function anymore without access to all the self help videos last one I used was in chinese but worked if I watched it 13 times and just looked at what his hands were doing :)

Paradise Tennant: sometimes it captures glimpses of the miracle of life .. that you would miss .. was in the park the other day and watched a little english bull dog bounce a soccer ball off his head 8 times in row.. if I had a video cameral with me and had been able to set up the shot .. it would have gone viral :))
Calvino Rabeni: That shows an influence of cinema relative to stage I think ... puts one in the place of the eavesdroppers who were listening in on Hamlet, gives it a more internal feeling
Paradise Tennant: what is wonderful .. is that is there is no threshold really to access so everyone can share their thoughts their work their understanding ..the poignant moments of their life that they think have appeal
