    Archmage Atlantis: Some hang on

    Archmage Atlantis: still living
Archmage Atlantis: still trying to find
    Lucinda Lavender: listening..thinking...
    Archmage Atlantis: k
Lucinda Lavender: when you say they hang on...do you mean they hang around or physically hang on?
Archmage Atlantis: they see the path
Archmage Atlantis: then they do not see what i see
    Lucinda Lavender: nodding
Lucinda Lavender: what do you think the path is about?
    Lucinda Lavender: HI Yaku...
Archmage Atlantis: I do not know

    --BELL--
    Lucinda Lavender: Hi Bleu:)
Archmage Atlantis: in rl i have 2 cats......they are both sleeping.......a good sign
    Lucinda Lavender: Hi Bleu:)
Lucinda Lavender: Earlier we were taking about themes of dreaming... and I have experienced having themems as well..
Lucinda Lavender: wow spelling is atrocious:)
Lucinda Lavender: it is really typing that is the problem
Archmage Atlantis: The ppl in the US, and the ppl in Australia changed English
Lucinda Lavender: Does anyone else experience this?
Archmage Atlantis: SL will do that also
    Lucinda Lavender: the themes...
Lucinda Lavender: language changes ...what becomes familiar in a new environment is also interesting...
Rasima Petrovic: hey I need t go for a bit! catch you guys later!
Archmage Atlantis: namate, lucinda.....from my god to yours
    Yakuzza Lethecus: take care rasima
    Bleu Oleander: obye Ras
Lucinda Lavender: themes that I expereince in dreaming are about bye Rasima..
    Lucinda Lavender: oops...certain objects...
    Lucinda Lavender: settings...
    Lucinda Lavender: bye Arch...
    Dash Earthboy: hey y'all
    Lucinda Lavender: Hi Dash...
    Yakuzza Lethecus: hey dash
Archmage Atlantis: still here,,,,,wwaiting for moore tunes from Dash
Lucinda Lavender: sSorry thought Arch was leaving but I guess is not:)
Archmage Atlantis: Life is misdirection, movement, and beiing
Lucinda Lavender: I think I will get my glasses! that might help me today.
    Dash Earthboy: glasses?
Dash Earthboy: what topic do we need those for?
Archmage Atlantis: Luci,,,,,, you are a dear ppl
Dash Earthboy: okay I got my glass
Archmage Atlantis: For those of us who see that way, Dash
Dash Earthboy: an eye doctor tried to force bi-focals on me in the first grade
Dash Earthboy: he succeeded in blinding my sisters
Dash Earthboy: that's how far back i've fought bad medicine
    Lucinda Lavender: ok...better now
Dash Earthboy: gone against professional expertise
Bleu Oleander: have to go all .... take care :)
    Dash Earthboy: bye Bleu
    Yakuzza Lethecus: take care bleu
Lucinda Lavender: Hope your day is good Bleu...
Archmage Atlantis: My greatest fear is to lose my eyes
    --BELL--
    Lucinda Lavender: bye arch
    Lucinda Lavender: good day toyou.
Dash Earthboy: guess he was leaving Yaku :)
    Yakuzza Lethecus: oh
Yakuzza Lethecus: bye for the log then :/
Lucinda Lavender: was looking for coffee or tea in the inventory but it isi not there!
Dash Earthboy: want some coffee Lu?
Lucinda Lavender: thanks Yaku. I am kind of sleepy
    Lucinda Lavender: and thanks Dash
    Dash Earthboy: yw
Dash Earthboy: have many come & gone the first half of session?
    Lucinda Lavender: well a few...
    Lucinda Lavender: Rasima, Bleu, Arch...
Dash Earthboy: not familiar with Rasima...
Lucinda Lavender: New to me also...
Dash Earthboy: i'm still running behind on many things and session today became one of them :(
Lucinda Lavender: ah...maybe we can drop that there is "running behind"...
    Yakuzza Lethecus: yes
Lucinda Lavender: or at least the apparance of it...
Dash Earthboy: ah, but being a good Dash is part of my nature :)
Lucinda Lavender: ok:)...I see the connection
    Lucinda Lavender: smiling
Yakuzza Lethecus: i am not a very mindful person, comming here is habitual, others may remind me of different ways to go, no force, i change when i change, everything has influence on anything
    Dash Earthboy: yep
Dash Earthboy: i believe i am fairly mindful
Dash Earthboy: and i think recent sessions have included discussions on timing
Dash Earthboy: how it effects relationships
Lucinda Lavender: interesting...can you say more?
Dash Earthboy: about the previous discussions?
    Lucinda Lavender: yes dash
Dash Earthboy: one participant suggested that getting "too close" to another "too soon" could hurt a relationship
Lucinda Lavender: I shall put on the magenta glasses to listen:)
    --BELL--
    Dash Earthboy: :)
Dash Earthboy: part of the idea of closeness included how "open" to be about ourselves
Lucinda Lavender: nodding...there are ways that relationships seem at the beginning....
Lucinda Lavender: and then it seems to change...
Dash Earthboy: i've found people who pride themselves on that
    Lucinda Lavender: getting close easily?
    Lucinda Lavender: or quickly?
Dash Earthboy: women who say "now that we've dated awhile I can be honest about myself with you"
Dash Earthboy: fake out at first
Dash Earthboy: they're not only not ashamed of being fake at first
Dash Earthboy: they actually believe everybody is the same way
Dash Earthboy: not talking "being reserved" here
    Dash Earthboy: i'm talking "Fake"
Lucinda Lavender: perhaps they wear this as a shield of sorts...
    Dash Earthboy: yes
Dash Earthboy: and they expect others to wear the same shield
Dash Earthboy: so if you get hurt by their fakery, it's your own fault for being naive
Lucinda Lavender: I think perhaps they were taught by others that it is how it is done?
Dash Earthboy: yes they were Lu
    Dash Earthboy: especially by mothers
Lucinda Lavender: I was watching the interactions last night where I was...at a bar hearing music...very interesting
    Dash Earthboy: in my experience
Lucinda Lavender: yes.. I think so Dash...mothers
Lucinda Lavender: noticed how fakey many seemed
Dash Earthboy: yes it gets woven into the culture if we let it
    Lucinda Lavender: at the bar
Dash Earthboy: yes the pickup bars, the meat markets :(
Dash Earthboy: i've also noticed it in singles groups i've tried
Lucinda Lavender: this did not seem like that sort but I was noticing the younger crowd...and as the music was played they were not listening at all...all talking...
Dash Earthboy: especially the church-sponsored ones
Lucinda Lavender: intreresting...people on a trajectory...
Dash Earthboy: yes, live music turns into background noise to them
Lucinda Lavender: The musiciansmwere fighting to be heard
    Dash Earthboy: yep
Lucinda Lavender: I have had the experience of feeling immediatly close tho...why I was not sure
Dash Earthboy: almost as bad as when I played at a coffeehouse and their machinery overwhelmed my performance as they insisted I play unamplified at all
Lucinda Lavender: know it happens....kind of mysteriously
Lucinda Lavender: yes that does happen too the espresso machines!
Dash Earthboy: you wonder about immediate attraction?
    Lucinda Lavender: yes...
Lucinda Lavender: what does it come out of?
    Yakuzza Lethecus: hey riddle
    Lucinda Lavender: Hi Riddle
Dash Earthboy: for your own then, i would suggest tuning in to what you look at first
    Dash Earthboy: hey Riddle
    Lucinda Lavender: seeing same things
Lucinda Lavender: finding humor or depth in the same or perhaps different things
Dash Earthboy: what you look at first will help identify what characteristics you find desirable...thus the immediate attraction
Yakuzza Lethecus: now, hey riddle, greeted you when you haven´t even been close :)
Riddle Sideways: Howdee Dash Yak and luci
    Dash Earthboy: :)
    --BELL--
Lucinda Lavender: I remember realizing that the people you think you are close to at one time seem to fade when interested in new areas or connection...
Dash Earthboy: my motto is "we grow together or we grow apart"
    Lucinda Lavender: :)...nice
    Lucinda Lavender: smiling at that
Riddle Sideways: and ya can't chat with them until they grow closer
Dash Earthboy: *see how the bramble & the rose intertwine...
Dash Earthboy: that's a country song
    Lucinda Lavender: yes Riddle
Lucinda Lavender: I know that song...
Dash Earthboy: i do it with autoharp :)
    Lucinda Lavender: nice dash
Dash Earthboy: was looking....sry, no sample available yet
Lucinda Lavender: Luci is thinking of the movie she saw recently called the Soncatcher
    Lucinda Lavender: Songcatcher
    Dash Earthboy: :)
    Lucinda Lavender: heard of it?
Lucinda Lavender: Cannot remember the actors but enjoyed the music in it....the old Scottish Irish ballads...what they called love songs
Lucinda Lavender: passed from person to person
Dash Earthboy: first i've heard of that movie
Yakuzza Lethecus: not that i doubt anyones googling skills
    Yakuzza Lethecus: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0210299/
    Yakuzza Lethecus: hello devdoot
    Dash Earthboy: hey devdoot
    Dash Earthboy: poof
    Riddle Sideways: ty yak
    Lucinda Lavender: thanks Yaku...
Lucinda Lavender: I enjoyed the movie
Dash Earthboy: i'll see if i can get it on Hulu :)
    Dash Earthboy: ty yaku
    Riddle Sideways: about a musicologist
    Lucinda Lavender: the old songs
    Lucinda Lavender: yes
Riddle Sideways: what a nice title
    Riddle Sideways: occupation
Lucinda Lavender: she very determinedly works at collecting them
    Lucinda Lavender: yes!
Lucinda Lavender: then has to drop them...but I won't spoinl it
    Lucinda Lavender: spoil
Dash Earthboy: an Aussie movie about Scottish love songs?
Lucinda Lavender: Not sure about the aussie part...
Lucinda Lavender: when much younger I liked singing those songs
Lucinda Lavender: must be in the bones
Dash Earthboy: first release in Australia I guess
Dash Earthboy: looks like location was near the farm I had
Dash Earthboy: Asheville was about 50 miles away
Dash Earthboy: good music in dem hills :)
Lucinda Lavender: ah! really...also near where my son lives
Lucinda Lavender: he plaays out on his porch
    Dash Earthboy: :)
Lucinda Lavender: and in the town:)
Lucinda Lavender: that is why I watched the movie I think...learning about the culture there
Dash Earthboy: if I played in the park or on a corner here in town, they'd throw me in jail
Riddle Sideways: a lot of good pickin on them porches
    Lucinda Lavender: really?
    Dash Earthboy: yep
Yakuzza Lethecus: you need a special licence for playing in public ?
Dash Earthboy: this is where they filmed the TV series "in the heat of the night"
    Lucinda Lavender: ah...
Dash Earthboy: you can often see the square and town around it
Dash Earthboy: no music unless sponsored by arts & culture association
Dash Earthboy: and that takes connections or money
    --BELL--
Dash Earthboy: i used to busk in NYC, New Orleans, even in Atlanta
Lucinda Lavender: yes?...takes strong shoes I have noticed
    Dash Earthboy: :)
Riddle Sideways: and a thick soul
    Lucinda Lavender: yes...
Riddle Sideways: did it a few times
Dash Earthboy: people were usually very generous
Dash Earthboy: hope i find that when i hit the road
    Lucinda Lavender: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XtJXZW3wFQA
Lucinda Lavender: here is my boy in Asheville
    Lucinda Lavender: miss him
Riddle Sideways: hey great video and song
    Dash Earthboy: yes
    Lucinda Lavender: yep...I am jealous...
Lucinda Lavender: great way to start a friday:)
Yakuzza Lethecus: thx very much luci and everyone
    Riddle Sideways: ... still listening/watching
    Lucinda Lavender: thank you Yaku:)
    Dash Earthboy: bye Yaku
    Riddle Sideways: bye yak
Lucinda Lavender: He left home at 17...to go to the road
Dash Earthboy: wish my son would have done something like that
    Lucinda Lavender: really?
    Dash Earthboy: yah
Riddle Sideways: I did at 19
    Lucinda Lavender: really Riddle?
    Lucinda Lavender: wow...
Lucinda Lavender: self launching I call it now
Dash Earthboy: wow is right :)
    Lucinda Lavender: feeling the call
Riddle Sideways: the revolution came and had to go with it
Lucinda Lavender: whole lot of learning...
Dash Earthboy: i've journaled my relocation effort's explanation, and revealed I haven't gone far without a specific destination before this time
Riddle Sideways: never did get back to college, the road taught enough
Dash Earthboy: it can for sure Riddle
Riddle Sideways: so, you did not have destination this time?
    Dash Earthboy: correct
    Riddle Sideways: just go walk-about
Dash Earthboy: this will be the first time i don't know where i'll land
Riddle Sideways: have done that several times
Riddle Sideways: put thumb out on the hiway and go with the ride
Dash Earthboy: i'm packing my car like the pioneers packed their Conestoga wagons and heading west
Dash Earthboy: taking tools of my trades with me
Riddle Sideways: ya'll come see us
Lucinda Lavender: forward into the great west!
    Lucinda Lavender: come to seattle...
Dash Earthboy: and whatever memorabilia therre's room for
Dash Earthboy: aside from the clothes
Dash Earthboy: maybe i'll do that Lu
Lucinda Lavender: I have quite a few musician friends
Dash Earthboy: others have suggested that to me
Dash Earthboy: if i get close to there i hope i'll be able to locate you
    Lucinda Lavender: sure...
Lucinda Lavender: we can have coffee like here:)
    Dash Earthboy: :)
Dash Earthboy: i'm starting much like the guy who gave us the 29 Life Lessons in his blog
Dash Earthboy: 8 years he lived traveling the world
    --BELL--

Dash Earthboy: i am reserving money i have to pay insurance, utilities for house here (which I own outright)
Dash Earthboy: and putting gas on credit card
Dash Earthboy: outside of that, no money for lodging
Dash Earthboy: food will be purchased with food stamps
Dash Earthboy: that's how desperate my situation is
    Lucinda Lavender: sounds hard...
    Dash Earthboy: it is
Lucinda Lavender: sounds like you have a plan...
Riddle Sideways: looks hard from here, but next year or later see how it looks
Dash Earthboy: plan: turn north at the pacific
Dash Earthboy: if i get that far
    Riddle Sideways: Oklahoma is OK
    Dash Earthboy: :)
Dash Earthboy: so Korel tells us :)
Dash Earthboy: especially if you like triple digit temps
Dash Earthboy: i will turn north at the Pacific instead of south because I do better with cooler weather than hot
Lucinda Lavender: how soon you leaving?
Dash Earthboy: i'm past due now from delays
Dash Earthboy: all kinds of delays
Dash Earthboy: and concern for my instruments in the heat
    Lucinda Lavender: nodding
Riddle Sideways: it is cold by the Pacific in summer. 55F here
Dash Earthboy: even my Ovation doesn't do well above 90
    Dash Earthboy: sounds good Riddle
Dash Earthboy: the climate is important to me
Dash Earthboy: but moreso the people of the community
Riddle Sideways: true, which is why we live here in paradise
Dash Earthboy: i'm hoping to pare down from the carload to even less possessions
Dash Earthboy: and get rid of the car
    Riddle Sideways: you will
Riddle Sideways: leave room for hitchhikers
Dash Earthboy: as I find people willing to share toward common good of the community
Dash Earthboy: sry Riddle, can't do
Lucinda Lavender: Here is a funny one..forgets the words:)
Dash Earthboy: front passenger legwell is filled by Coleman cooler
Dash Earthboy: it's a combo ac/dc warmer/cooler i got long ago when my first refrigerator here failed
    Dash Earthboy: hi druth
Dash Earthboy: hoping to be out of here tomorrow night or Sunday morning
druth Vlodovic: hi dash, hi everyone who isnt dash :)
    Riddle Sideways: Morning, dRuth
    Lucinda Lavender: hi druth:)
Dash Earthboy: last weekend when i rescheduled it was for this past Wed
Lucinda Lavender: well it is getting close the point of departure...
    Riddle Sideways: schedules are overrated
    Dash Earthboy: yes
    Dash Earthboy: :)
Lucinda Lavender: will you have a computer with you?
Dash Earthboy: yes on the passenger seat beside me
    Lucinda Lavender: cool
Dash Earthboy: so no room for hitchhikers
druth Vlodovic: remember not to compute and drive, they are cracking down on that sort of thing, in some coountries anyway
Dash Earthboy: trunk is 95% full now with two guitars, two keyboards, amp
Riddle Sideways: too bad. the days, lives, stories and gas money of hitchhikers makes the miles go so fine
druth Vlodovic: "hop in and hold this on your lap"
    Dash Earthboy: true Riddle
    Lucinda Lavender: good point
Dash Earthboy: just too much i've found necessary to carry with from my previous attempts
    Riddle Sideways: 2 keyboards ??
    Dash Earthboy: yes
    Lucinda Lavender: wow!
Dash Earthboy: and a violin I hope to sell
    --BELL--
Dash Earthboy: the autoharp will be in a seat for busking opportunities
Dash Earthboy: so the car will be packed like the Conestoga wagons were: tools & clothes
    Dash Earthboy: mostly tools
    Dash Earthboy: instruments & computer
druth Vlodovic: how long are you going to be on the road?
    Dash Earthboy: can't tell
Lucinda Lavender: must go for now...good day all...safe travels Dash...and keep in touch
    Dash Earthboy: bye Lu
druth Vlodovic: its a secret :)
Riddle Sideways: use to play in corner of bars. make deal with bartender to replace drinks with water and give me money
Lucinda Lavender: I will post the log
druth Vlodovic: bye luci, have fun
    Riddle Sideways: ok by luci
Dash Earthboy: i'm looking for a new community to relocate to druth
Riddle Sideways: now days there are lots of house concerts going on
druth Vlodovic: so you just drive until a place feels right?
Dash Earthboy: so i'll be on road till i find it or my luck runs out
Riddle Sideways: bet most let you stay at their guess room
    Dash Earthboy: ?
Dash Earthboy: it was that in Nashville Riddle
druth Vlodovic: lol, I wish I had a dozen lives to live, I suppose I have a few coming up when my kids move out
Dash Earthboy: but they charged me anyway
Dash Earthboy: and only the first cared at all about my music
Dash Earthboy: hope you can try that druth
Riddle Sideways: not sure I would get on the bus this time
Dash Earthboy: last year so many Nashville Quakers referred me to Chattanooga that I gave it a try
Dash Earthboy: they let me sleep on the floor of the meeting house
Dash Earthboy: not the cots or a member's guest room as they had others
Dash Earthboy: and made it "two or three nights only"
    Riddle Sideways: smile on
Dash Earthboy: and didn't have time in the whole group to show me around town
Dash Earthboy: or help me find work
Riddle Sideways: and remember... "could be worse"
druth Vlodovic: you must look unsavoury
Dash Earthboy: so it was not the "great community" for me that the Nashville folks had said
Dash Earthboy: sry, Riddle I hate when someone says that to me
Dash Earthboy: like I'm not grateful for the least little kindness
druth Vlodovic: hmm, perhaps letters of introduction if anyone still does that
Dash Earthboy: would have helped druth
    Riddle Sideways: wb
Lucinda Lavender: hi Everyone...odd thing...have no link to the log...in my email..kind of odd
    Dash Earthboy: dang
druth Vlodovic: we once lived in an old inn, and people would drop by and my father would give them a place for the night, I was always afrid of being killed in my sleep :)
Dash Earthboy: thought Wol had fixed that
Riddle Sideways: ah sorry, it does sound condecending, but has helped my attitude toward all
    Dash Earthboy: and mine
Dash Earthboy: but without needing reminded of it
Dash Earthboy: it's about intentionality Riddle, what purpose does it serve to tell somebody something they already have assimilated into their lives?
Dash Earthboy: it's not a revelation, it's not learning,...what's the purpose then?
Dash Earthboy: the Chattanooga folks told me "this is all we can do" when other members
Dash Earthboy: told me how much more the group did for them at first sight
Dash Earthboy: and the experience just went downhill from there
Dash Earthboy: so it obviously was not a community for me
druth Vlodovic: a more positive way of saying it might be "this is life, interesting." it's when things get taken personally that friction and bad feelings are caused
druth Vlodovic: perhaps your frineds wore out your welcome for you, or people were in a bad mood, how we are treated has much more to do with the situation of others than it has to do with ourselves
    Dash Earthboy: of course druth
    Dash Earthboy: or "no duh"
    --BELL--
Dash Earthboy: sometimes there's no need for speculation or even comment, just listening & understanding
druth Vlodovic: lol, I don't really have original thoughts, but I get by remarkably well stating the obvious
Dash Earthboy: i've had an overdose of such "reality" here druth
Dash Earthboy: "we likes the way things are around heh. ur not from around heh are you? maybe you should look someplace else to live"
    Riddle Sideways: :) dRuth
Riddle Sideways: and yep heard those lines
Dash Earthboy: pretty much ever since we relocated the family here in 92
Riddle Sideways: and the more favorite "is that a boy or a girl"
Dash Earthboy: the Masons, rather than welcoming me and helping me get situated told me "we don't need no stinking computers areound heh."
Dash Earthboy: and when i talked about doing accounting, bookkeeping, customer serrvice work too "why do you want to do women's work?"
    Dash Earthboy: macho posturing
druth Vlodovic: western culture is feeling the squeeze of too much time working just to slide backwards slowly and inexorably, charitible feelings suffer quite a bit
Dash Earthboy: not becoming to a Mason or anyone
druth Vlodovic: lol, I'm cheerful, I'll go now
    Dash Earthboy: technophobes too
    druth Vlodovic: have fun guys
    Dash Earthboy: bye druth
    Riddle Sideways: bye dRuth
Dash Earthboy: my ex has been cheerful too since she robbed me
Dash Earthboy: amazing how that goes huh?
    Riddle Sideways: yep
Dash Earthboy: i try to help people
Dash Earthboy: i come here to PaB to learn or to teach
Dash Earthboy: not so much just to socialize
Dash Earthboy: but definitely not to observe more posturing
Riddle Sideways: hope we did not give that (much :)
Dash Earthboy: today? no not much
Dash Earthboy: there have been times tho among those who believe they're enlightened thru Eastern philosophies
Dash Earthboy: the Tao this and the Zen that and detach and other stuff which one learns very quickly THEY DON'T PRACTICE
    Dash Earthboy: that's just posturing
Riddle Sideways: sometimes being the teacher comes on too strong
Dash Earthboy: i think you missed the earlier discussion about timing and relationships and fakery
Dash Earthboy: i've found the most insistent among the enlightened, on teaching philosophy, is that they don't practice it themselves
Dash Earthboy: like the non-Christian "Christians"
Dash Earthboy: just another way to deceive
Riddle Sideways: sorry, RL just called
    Dash Earthboy: ok
    Riddle Sideways: thanks for caht
    Dash Earthboy: gtsy
Dash Earthboy: have a good one :)
Riddle Sideways: and have your best time
