    Agatha Macbeth: Hello Korel
        --BELL--
    Korel Laloix: Heya
    Agatha Macbeth: Are you well?
    Korel Laloix: Mostly.
    Korel Laloix: You?
    Agatha Macbeth: Fine thanks
Agatha Macbeth: Which bits of you are not ok? :p
Korel Laloix: well... you know... cramps and the like.
    Agatha Macbeth: Ah
Korel Laloix: What you up to today?
Agatha Macbeth: Oh, just the usual
    Agatha Macbeth: Been quite warm
Korel Laloix: Been loving the heat..
Agatha Macbeth: Had to pull up a lot of weeds out of the garden too
Agatha Macbeth: Yes, I heard it was warm there
Korel Laloix: Got up to 109 the other day...
Agatha Macbeth: Over 100F I believe
    Agatha Macbeth nods
Korel Laloix: Just sitting on the back porch in my knickers and t when I get home....
Agatha Macbeth: Well good for you :)
Agatha Macbeth: I'd probably do the same
    Korel Laloix: Lovely feeling.
    Agatha Macbeth: Hello Wester!
Agatha Macbeth: Long time no see
    Wester Kiranov: hi aggers
    Korel Laloix: osiyo
Agatha Macbeth: How are you these days?
Wester Kiranov: and hi korel - i didn't see you
    Wester Kiranov: i'm ok
Korel Laloix: I am short, no worries... lol
Agatha Macbeth: Now, how could anyone miss Korel? [grin]
Agatha Macbeth: I'm hoping some of the retreaters will show up
Wester Kiranov: I just put the children to bed so i'm a bit stressed out ;-)
Wester Kiranov: so this seemed a nice quiet place
Agatha Macbeth: Oh wow - sit down and take a rest :))
Agatha Macbeth: And as if on cue - hello Pema :)
Korel Laloix: Yes,,, take a rest.
    Wester Kiranov: hi pema
Pema Pera: hi Wester, Agatha, Korel
Pema Pera has no clue about the cue that got him here . . . :-)
Agatha Macbeth: I just said I hoped that some of the retreaters would show up....
Pema Pera: well, here I am :-)
Agatha Macbeth: and here you are :p
    Agatha Macbeth: Indeed
Pema Pera: I really enjoyed the retreat -- as always
Pema Pera: each retreat is so very different
    Agatha Macbeth: And the mosquitos?
Pema Pera: oh, that was okay
Pema Pera: just part of the scene
Agatha Macbeth: For them yes [grin]
    Agatha Macbeth: Lots of food
    Pema Pera: :-)
Pema Pera: it wasn't that bad
Pema Pera: many places in the world with mosquitos
Agatha Macbeth: We only have gnats here thankfully
    Pema Pera: do gnats bite?
Agatha Macbeth: Yes, but they can't give you malaria :)
Pema Pera: neither can the ones in Nova Scotia, I'm told
    Agatha Macbeth: That's good
Agatha Macbeth: Maybe it's down to the region of the world then
Pema Pera: as for the retreat, one of the many things we explored was the way we all consider ourselves as beings, human beings, in a large world full of other beings and things
Pema Pera: and how all of that can connect with the notion of Being and Play as Being
Pema Pera: I found that very helpful and inspiring
    Agatha Macbeth nods
    Agatha Macbeth: I can imagine
Agatha Macbeth: Were you on the last Nova Scotia retreat too?
        --BELL--
Pema Pera: yes, I was, that one was fun too, but very different.
Agatha Macbeth: Yes, I was wondering in what way this one was diffrent
Pema Pera: oh, everything is different, each time
    Agatha Macbeth: Right
Pema Pera: each person is different too, and there were different people
Pema Pera: weather, food, you name it, different :-)
Pema Pera: mosquitos similar though (^_^)
    Agatha Macbeth: Ha
Wester Kiranov: only pema is always there :)
    Pema Pera: :)
Agatha Macbeth: Yes, Mr Ubiquitous :P
    Pema Pera: As for no beings: when I see something going wrong, I have the tendency to project that on the other, who is then labeled wrong, with me as the one seeing that being right, and then me admonishing the other;
Pema Pera: but in a world without emphasis on beings, the last three steps are unnecessary distractions.
Pema Pera: there is just what may be in need of some correction or assistance
Pema Pera: and when that happens, that's it
    Pema Pera: nothing more added
    Agatha Macbeth: Great
Pema Pera: in fact, this is something we started to explore in Assisi as well, as Wester will remember
    Wester Kiranov: yes
    Korel Laloix: Thanks.
    Pema Pera: yw :)
    Pema Pera: hi Santoshima!
    Wester Kiranov: hi santoshima
Agatha Macbeth: Can she hear us?
    Agatha Macbeth: Maybe not...
    Agatha Macbeth: Ah, hello there
    Agatha Macbeth: ?? :p
    Agatha Macbeth: Ah, hello
    Santoshima Resident: at last, hello
Agatha Macbeth: I've seen people get stuck at the TP point before now
Agatha Macbeth: It happened to Zaldaan a while back
Agatha Macbeth: Er - are you supposed to be bald Santo?
    Santoshima Resident: yup
    Agatha Macbeth: Ok
    Santoshima Resident: cooler that way
    Agatha Macbeth: Just checking
Agatha Macbeth: SL hair does funny things sometimes
Santoshima Resident: bodies here appear grey across the room
    Agatha Macbeth: Yes, that too
        --BELL--
Pema Pera: Santoshima, do you have any questions about what we are doing here, as a group?
Pema Pera: besides just chatting :-)
Santoshima Resident: i have a rough idea of the "doing" of the group
Santoshima Resident: reading from the wiki site
Santoshima Resident: and from a friend who participates here
Santoshima Resident: i have only come a few times
Santoshima Resident: and am not that interested in chat
Pema Pera: what is your main interest?
    Santoshima Resident: embodiment
Santoshima Resident: and its relation to virtual realationship
Santoshima Resident: typing is a problem it seems today
    Pema Pera: :-)
Pema Pera: SL is a great laboratory for experimenting with embodiment
    Pema Pera: hi Zaldaan
    Agatha Macbeth: Hello Zaldaan
Santoshima Resident: i'm also interested to have a better sense of how PaB is using meditation practice
    Wester Kiranov: hi Zaldaan
Santoshima Resident: and how that can be mediated, so to speak through this primarily visual medium
Pema Pera: the original practice of PaB is very simple: a few times an hour, in RL, stop for a few seconds (say, 9 secs every 15 minutes)
Pema Pera: and during that time drop what you have in order to see what you are
Pema Pera: micro meditations if you like :-)
Pema Pera: have you tried those?
    Santoshima Resident: yes,
Santoshima Resident: it seems that process can usefully be formalized into time segments
Santoshima Resident: initially, that makes sense to me,
    Zaldaan Sirnah: hi
    Santoshima Resident: hi zaldaan
Pema Pera: how did it feel to do it?
Santoshima Resident: does the practice become more random
Santoshima Resident: in a sense, do the timed
Santoshima Resident: meditations become more fluid?
Pema Pera: speaking for myself, each time I do it, it is different
Pema Pera: sometimes just nice to relax, take a deep breath
Pema Pera: sometimes when I stop briefly, I notice more elements of my situation
Pema Pera: or see my own acting/talking/being more clearly
Pema Pera: by briefly cutting through the flow of automatisms
Pema Pera: did you notice anything like that?
Pema Pera: or anything different perhaps?
Santoshima Resident: yes, there are many ways to achieve
Santoshima Resident: and yes, that has ben my experience
Zaldaan Sirnah: do you have a 15 minute alarm, for I have not seen your AV sitting here in PaB
Santoshima Resident: and it is a changing one
Santoshima Resident: I have a yoga practice, and sitting practice
Pema Pera: in RL I sometimes use an alarm, but also often just try to take breaks a few times an hour, more randomly, Zaldaan
       --BELL--
Pema Pera: do you find the short breaks to connect with your yoga or sitting practice?
    Pema Pera: hi Zon!
    Zon Kwan: hey hey
Santoshima Resident: short breaks to connect to the breath and sensations
    Wester Kiranov: hi zon
Agatha Macbeth: Hi Zon - viva Brasil :p
    Zon Kwan: yes!
    Santoshima Resident: hello zon
Pema Pera: Santoshima is telling us about her experience with playing with the 9-sec breaks, Zon
    Zaldaan Sirnah: snort breaks

Mila arrives and lands on top of me
    Agatha Macbeth: Ow
Pema Pera smiles at the typos
    milakel Resident: hi :)
Santoshima Resident: today, is a brief time for me here. thanks so much for your comments (and snorts!)
milakel Resident: oops, aga girl :)
    Santoshima Resident: bye for now
    Agatha Macbeth: Evening Mil (muffled)
    Pema Pera: hi Mila!
    Pema Pera: bye Santo!
milakel Resident: i knew where to land :)
    Wester Kiranov: hi mila
    Agatha Macbeth: You sure did!
    Zaldaan Sirnah: lol
Zaldaan Sirnah: how does one Avatar exist in the same place as another, or overlap, instead of walking on top of them or around?
milakel Resident: me and wester had a lonely session last time and what a turnaround this time :)
    Pema Pera: :-)
    Agatha Macbeth smiles
Pema Pera: like the weather :)
    Wester Kiranov: :)
Agatha Macbeth: We knew you were coming :p
    milakel Resident: aww
Wester Kiranov: what a difference half a day makes :)
    Agatha Macbeth: 12 little hours...
Pema Pera: I'm still in Canada, from next week on I can attend your session again, Wester :)
milakel Resident: *sees zon's brazillian shirt*
    Agatha Macbeth nods
    Agatha Macbeth: Pelé
milakel Resident: oh, aga is a soccer fan? :)
    Agatha Macbeth: Yep!
Wester Kiranov: @ pema: So we can secretly talk Dutch? ;-P
milakel Resident: well, uk - that explains it, i guess :)
    Agatha Macbeth: Could be :)
milakel Resident: wester, you can do so openly :)
Pema Pera: we kunnen dat altijd doen, Wester
Agatha Macbeth: Yes, say rude things we don't understand :pp
    Wester Kiranov: dat is waar
Pema Pera: or friendly things you don't understand
    Agatha Macbeth: Equally
Pema Pera: but nowadays, with Google, there is little secrecy
Agatha Macbeth: Maybe it's run by the CIA...
Pema Pera: let's try . . . Agatha is een aardige meid
Wester Kiranov: isn't everything run by the CIA?
milakel Resident: dutch is funny in pronunciation. for instance, "het" is like "tet", "hond" is "honds" :)
Pema Pera: Google; Agatha is a nice girl
    Agatha Macbeth: Probably
Agatha Macbeth: Oh, thank you :)
Pema Pera: so far so good, for Google!
Agatha Macbeth: Yay for the big G
Pema Pera: but this one failed: Ik zou nou toch wel eens effen willen weten
milakel Resident: i wonder how their google+ initiative will hold on
Pema Pera: it was mangled into: Why do not I'd ever even want to know
milakel Resident: pema, sounds like a nice session title :)
    Pema Pera: hehehe
Agatha Macbeth: Maybe it will be...
Wester Kiranov: it's not that bad, considering that "effen" means different things
milakel Resident: pema, you probably don't talk dutch much in rl
Pema Pera: yeah, Dutch has a plethora of little "atmosphere" words
    Pema Pera: no, I don't
    Agatha Macbeth: Cute
Pema Pera: but I read a weekly Dutch newspaper
milakel Resident: do you forget some words? :)
Pema Pera: that keeps me up to date, more or less
Pema Pera: no, since I emigrated when I was 28
Agatha Macbeth wonders what sort of accent Pema has
Pema Pera: people who emigrate at age 18 or 20 do tend to forget
Pema Pera: in Dutch, none still
Zaldaan Sirnah: odd that English doesn't distinguish "but I read ..." and "but I read ..."
    milakel Resident: zal?
Wester Kiranov: I think Pema's Dutch is still quite good
Agatha Macbeth: It acts like Chinese in that way
Agatha Macbeth: the tone of the word changes
milakel Resident: zal, can you tell more on the difference?
Zaldaan Sirnah: Mila, one is past tense (reading was done, and completed). The other is present and continuous. I'm not sure of the actual terms for these tenses, just describing them.
Agatha Macbeth: Spelt the same, but pronounced differently
Zaldaan Sirnah: "I read once a week", pronounced, "I red once a week [when I had the papers]."
        --BELL--
    Agatha Macbeth: Yep
milakel Resident: zal, ah, got it
    Zaldaan Sirnah breathes deeply.
Agatha Macbeth: Actually some languages have no verb tense distinction at all...
    Wester Kiranov: such as Indonesian
    Agatha Macbeth nods
    Zon Kwan: waves
Agatha Macbeth: I was thinking of Malay, but not sure on that one
    Agatha Macbeth: Bye Zon
Wester Kiranov: They just add "yesterday" or something like that if necessary
    Agatha Macbeth: Yes
    Pema Pera: bye Zon
Pema Pera: nice seeing you all !
Agatha Macbeth: Bye for now Pem
    Pema Pera: bfn
    Wester Kiranov: bye Pema
Wester Kiranov: I think I'll be off now as well
    Wester Kiranov: bye all
Agatha Macbeth: Take care Wester, nice to see you
milakel Resident: aga, but they do distinguish tense in other ways?
    Agatha Macbeth: Who?
Zaldaan Sirnah: What can you do for someone, or yourself? Do you pay attention to health, or spirit, or both at the same time? If someone is asking me which beverage I would drink, the one prepared and packaged with colors and sugars, to increase sales, or the water, and then they perhaps ask more questions about my choice -- do I discuss this issue? After discussing these a certain amount, in a spiritual envirionment, I feel tired, like perhaps there are even more important topics...
milakel Resident: aga, ah, yes. just read wester's comment on "yesterday".
    Agatha Macbeth smiles
Agatha Macbeth: Lag has no tense either it would seem...:p
Agatha Macbeth: Thought Wol might turn up tonight :(
Zaldaan Sirnah: wow, no verb tense distinction.. that's interesting.
    Agatha Macbeth: Yes, true
Agatha Macbeth: different people do things differently
milakel Resident: life without irregular verbs would be much nicer
    Agatha Macbeth grins
milakel Resident: but people and their habits break the rules
Agatha Macbeth: You should try esperanto
Agatha Macbeth: Or desperanto as I call it
milakel Resident: aga, it's all strictly regulated?
Agatha Macbeth: Oh yes, even the verb 'to be' is regular
    milakel Resident: mouse/mouses :)
    Agatha Macbeth: Hm, yes
    milakel Resident: read/readed
    Agatha Macbeth: Maus/Mäuser
    milakel Resident: show off :P
    Agatha Macbeth: Heehee
Zaldaan Sirnah: I figured there would be other indicators in Indonesian to further describe the time, state, etc.
Agatha Macbeth: I would imagine certaily so zal
Zaldaan Sirnah: They throw in words like, "yesterday". So, "I eat apple, yesterday."
    Zaldaan Sirnah: http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Indonesian/Tenses
Agatha Macbeth: Just to avoid ambiguity
Zaldaan Sirnah: I heard that "fishes" is becoming more popular
milakel Resident: it's easier with set rules without exceptions. observe how little kids rather say mouses than mice. how did this mice come about?
    Agatha Macbeth: Loaves and fishes...
    Zaldaan Sirnah: Leafies
    milakel Resident: zal, nice approach
    milakel Resident: re: indonesians
Zaldaan Sirnah: It work for me, now and future.
    Agatha Macbeth: Me too
    Zaldaan Sirnah loln's.
Agatha Macbeth: Don't know that one :p
    Zaldaan Sirnah: ("now", for tense).
milakel Resident: indonesians must be using it often in comedies: i love you... yesterday :)
Zaldaan Sirnah: "Dua jam lalu = Two hours ago"
        --BELL--
Agatha Macbeth: I hear bed calling...so will say goodnight
    Zaldaan Sirnah: G'night
milakel Resident: what is it saying? :)
    Agatha Macbeth: Take care
    milakel Resident: night, aga girl
Agatha Macbeth: It's saying 'get in here!'
    milakel Resident: hehe
    Agatha Macbeth: Byeeee
    milakel Resident: demanding one :)
