    Agatha Macbeth: 1753
      --BELL--1315
Mickorod Renard: lol, I am younger than you Vorder :)

    Mickorod Renard: :)
Vorder Forder: yes not very humbel
    Vorder Forder: ..)
    Agatha Macbeth: Ha
Mickorod Renard: it would be a good idea if it meant you lived longer
Agatha Macbeth: How many months then?
Vorder Forder: they follow the moon
Agatha Macbeth: In a year I mean?
    Agatha Macbeth: Oh
Mickorod Renard: I thought that was 28 days?
Agatha Macbeth: Well one year is 13 lunar months plus 1 day
    Vorder Forder: 240
Vorder Forder: every 240 there is a festival
    Agatha Macbeth: Hmm
Agatha Macbeth: Different cultures are so facinating
    Vorder Forder: yes I agree
Mickorod Renard: maybe its best to live minute by minute,,sounds less complicated :)
Vorder Forder: the pepole are the half of the beauty
Agatha Macbeth: Trouble is, you get so many :p
    Agatha Macbeth: Agreed Vorder
    Vorder Forder: sounds easy
Vorder Forder: this minute by minute thing

Agatha Macbeth: Many things *sound* easy ;-)
    Agatha Macbeth: Ara :)
Vorder Forder: just to follow your breath
    Vorder Forder: very easy
    Mickorod Renard: :)
    Mickorod Renard: Hi Ara
Agatha Macbeth: The rose has arrived
    Vorder Forder: hello arabella
    arabella Ella smiles
Agatha Macbeth: When you think about it, there must be a fair few minutes in a year
arabella Ella: why does that sound a bit like an understatement Aggers?
    arabella Ella: intuitively
    Agatha Macbeth: Hmmm
Mickorod Renard: almost so many they pecome valueless, like halfpennies
Agatha Macbeth: Mick was wanting to count his life in minutes
    arabella Ella: oh
Agatha Macbeth: I gave him a calculator :p
Mickorod Renard: well, it started from Ags asking how long Vorder had been on sl
Agatha Macbeth: And I gave the answer in days
arabella Ella: ah you Brits drive me around the bend
arabella Ella: starting with Boris and the bendy busses
Agatha Macbeth: We do that to everyone
Mickorod Renard: I bet Ara wud luv to know how many days she is?
    Vorder Forder: brb
    arabella Ella: oh yes pls!
Agatha Macbeth: Just be glad we don't run a third of the world any more!
    Agatha Macbeth: 1887
    arabella Ella: he he
    arabella Ella: wow cool
Agatha Macbeth: A week older than Vorder
arabella Ella: over 5 years or what?
    Agatha Macbeth: About that
    arabella Ella: that is ancient
    Agatha Macbeth: In SL yes
Mickorod Renard: I am a mere spring chicken
arabella Ella: is it 5 years?
Vorder Forder: I am the oldest ?
Agatha Macbeth: We reckon so, yes
Agatha Macbeth: Ara is, by 7 days
arabella Ella: i am a week older than you Vorder
Mickorod Renard: I wont be 5 until xmas day
Agatha Macbeth: Another 2 years for me yet
arabella Ella: i remember the first time was in August way back 5 years ago many many moons!
arabella Ella: where has all that time gone
    Agatha Macbeth: Many moons indeed
Agatha Macbeth: Much of it spent in PaB
    arabella Ella: at first yes
Mickorod Renard: they went in a virtual flash
arabella Ella: the initial phase was quite addictive but that later passed
Vorder Forder: for how long has "play as Being" been running?
Agatha Macbeth: I spent all my first few months in SL just exploring
Agatha Macbeth: Since April 2008 Vord
    Vorder Forder: I see
arabella Ella: i had told Pema that i visited the old tea house they had before PAb started!
Agatha Macbeth: Yes, I've been there too
    Agatha Macbeth: it's nice
    arabella Ella: ah
Vorder Forder: I did the same exploring
Mickorod Renard: you wud have thought we could have given up the playing and taken it seriously by now
    arabella Ella: yes
    arabella Ella: he he
Vorder Forder: has sl changed a lot since it started?
    Wol Euler: evening all
    Mickorod Renard: :)
    Mickorod Renard: Hi Wollie
Agatha Macbeth: We will never be *that* serious :p
    Vorder Forder: hello Wol
    Agatha Macbeth: Hiya Wollie
arabella Ella: personally i dont think SL changes I think we change and possibibly the way we use SL
    arabella Ella: Hiya Wol!
    Agatha Macbeth: Wol is 1760
    Wol Euler: ancient.
    Vorder Forder: you are right
    Agatha Macbeth: And cute :)
    Wol Euler smiles.
Vorder Forder: we will still be cartoons after some years in sl
Mickorod Renard: yes, I bet its dificult to make something too diferent
arabella Ella: so am i older than Wol?
    arabella Ella: 1887?
    Agatha Macbeth: Looks that way
    Agatha Macbeth: Yep
    arabella Ella: ouch!
      --BELL--1330
Agatha Macbeth: Ara is the oldest here :)
arabella Ella smiles mysteriously (like the Mona lisa)
Vorder Forder: I have got to know fantastic peopole and that is what keeps me comming back to sl
    Agatha Macbeth: Me too ;-)
Vorder Forder: and the weather of course
    Agatha Macbeth: Erk
    Wol Euler smiles.
arabella Ella: I love the fact that we dont need coats and dont feel too hot or too cold on SL
    Agatha Macbeth: Yes indeed
arabella Ella: you can swim, ski or whatever with no problems
arabella Ella: any time of the year
arabella Ella: i enjoy flying and the hot air baloons too
Agatha Macbeth: If only that were true in RL
    arabella Ella: yea
Mickorod Renard: And it has been wonderful to find so many interesting characters to make friends with
    Agatha Macbeth: This is true
    Wol Euler nods.
Vorder Forder: the activity of the sun in the comming month might change that
    Agatha Macbeth: Oh?
    Agatha Macbeth: How so?
Vorder Forder: it is a delecate thing
Mickorod Renard: will it be a huge solar flare?
    Vorder Forder: computers
    Agatha Macbeth: Astrolologically or astronomically?
Vorder Forder: but the good news is that we will be seeing more aurora boralis
    Agatha Macbeth: Osiyo K
    Vorder Forder: this winter
    Mickorod Renard: yay
Agatha Macbeth: I'm too far south :(
Mickorod Renard: I had better buy a lead carry case for my laptop
    Wol Euler smiles.
Vorder Forder: I am no the right spot for AB
Agatha Macbeth: Must be great to see live
Vorder Forder: and we have this light blue color of the sky that you only see on the north part of the planet
    Agatha Macbeth: Ah
    Korel Laloix: Heya... smiles
    Mickorod Renard: Hi Kori
    arabella Ella: Hiya Kori!
    Vorder Forder: halló Kori
arabella Ella: so Vorder from how far south can one see the Aurora Borealis?
    arabella Ella: (in europe)
Agatha Macbeth: Must be amazing to have 24 hour sunlight
    Vorder Forder: yes it is
Mickorod Renard: how long does it take for the effect from the sun to reach us,,i am supposing that whatever it is has already occurred?
    Wol Euler nods.
Wol Euler: 9 and a half minutes
Vorder Forder: but during winter we hardly day of light for about 3 months..)
arabella Ella: yes that is terrible!
    Agatha Macbeth: Oww
Agatha Macbeth: Who'd be a penguin?
Wol Euler: someone with cold feet and a fondness for fish?
    Agatha Macbeth: Yeh, right
Mickorod Renard: I guess your eyes adapt
Agatha Macbeth: Wonder why penguins' feet don't freeze?
    arabella Ella: why only feet?
Wol Euler: they have a really cool heat exchanger system in their ankles
arabella Ella: I dont think I could ever live in a cold region for long
    Agatha Macbeth: Oh wow, seriously?
Wol Euler: veins and arteries branch out into a fine mesh of very small conduits, densely interwoven
Agatha Macbeth: So they can never get frosbite?
Wol Euler: keeps most of the blood heat in their upper bodies
Wol Euler: I guess they could
Mickorod Renard: I lived somewhere once that had an icerink that heated the swimming pool from heat exchange system
Wol Euler: if they didn't hunker down on their feet
Agatha Macbeth looks up the verb 'hunker'
    Wol Euler: :)
arabella Ella: i can think of a few hunkers Aggers!
    Agatha Macbeth: Hunk hunk
    arabella Ella smiles
arabella Ella: why does aggers make such strange noises at times?
Agatha Macbeth: Must be the climate
    arabella Ella: must bee
    Agatha Macbeth: Bzzzz
    arabella Ella: he he
      --BELL--1345
Agatha Macbeth: Wonder if there will be any new activities in the café now summer is over?
Wol Euler: perhaps :) the art history workshop seems to be at a crossroads
    arabella Ella: yes i wonder
Wol Euler: if not even a dead end
    Agatha Macbeth: That's so sad
Agatha Macbeth: Adams has done an amazing job
    Wol Euler: agreed
Agatha Macbeth: Doesn't look like WoK will come back either :(
Mickorod Renard: I think most things are getting tired
    Agatha Macbeth: Hmm, yes
    Mickorod Renard: I liked wok
Agatha Macbeth: Need new directions maybe?
Wol Euler: I guess we do
    Wol Euler looks around
arabella Ella: well for some of us time is the main issue, plus regular commitment
arabella Ella: so maybe in the future but not yet
Agatha Macbeth: We're still waiting for you to do your SL-ness thing Wol
    arabella Ella: oh yes!
Mickorod Renard: yes, its my issue too,,and also I am useless
    Agatha Macbeth grins
Agatha Macbeth: Yes Ara, true on the time thing
arabella Ella: Micko you could teach us a bit or two on Zen and the Art of Motorcycle maintenance couldnt you?
    Agatha Macbeth: Yay
Mickorod Renard: I cud do the motorcycle maintainance
Agatha Macbeth: I never got round to reading that
arabella Ella: and we could have Zen to do the Zen bit with you
Vorder Forder: it is a travelling
    arabella Ella: yes
Mickorod Renard: although I have never taken a buell apart yet
    Agatha Macbeth: A buell?
Mickorod Renard: life is a travelling

Boxy arrives (at the end of the session as usual)
Agatha Macbeth: Ah, the late Mr Kelberry :)
    Wol Euler: greetings, square one
    Mickorod Renard: Hi Alfie
Agatha Macbeth: Back to square one
    Wol Euler: boom boom
Vorder Forder: I will have to hit the sack travelling tomorrow.....thank you all you clever pepole and stay well and safe at all time hope to see you soon
Wol Euler: goodnight vorder, sleep well
Agatha Macbeth: Bye Vord, sack well
Mickorod Renard: same to u Vorder, take care
    arabella Ella: bye Vorder
Agatha Macbeth: Always wondered about that phrase
    arabella Ella: Hey Alfieeeeee! Welcome!
Wol Euler: that's a new record for Boxy, he went from absent to afk without saying a word :)
    Agatha Macbeth grins
    Agatha Macbeth: He's a dawg
    Wol Euler: true
Wol Euler: they are good at sudden napping
    Agatha Macbeth: This is true
Agatha Macbeth: But so are cats
Wol Euler: I always admired that ability, to tell the truth
    Agatha Macbeth: You're a dog too ;-)
Agatha Macbeth: This seems to be dog week
arabella Ella: I could teach you how to have short naps Wol if you wish :)
      --BELL--1400
Wol Euler: true, but I have a hard time napping usually
    Agatha Macbeth: Siestas?
    arabella Ella nods
Wol Euler: my dears, I have to leave you now
    Wol Euler sighs.
    Agatha Macbeth: Awww
    Wol Euler: art calls
Wol Euler: and after that bed
    Agatha Macbeth: It does?
Wol Euler: goodnight, be happy and kind
Agatha Macbeth: Where does it call from?
    Mickorod Renard: nite Wol
Wol Euler: pab as lab :)
Agatha Macbeth: Bye Wollie, schlaf gut
Agatha Macbeth: PaB as lab indeed
    Agatha Macbeth: Hello Zen
    Zen Arado: Hi all
    Agatha Macbeth: How's things?
Mickorod Renard: there was a mail earlier I believe,,asking folks to take there exhibits down
    Zen Arado: not bad ty
    Zen Arado: et toi?
    Mickorod Renard: Hi Zen
    Agatha Macbeth: Très bien merci
Mickorod Renard: votre parle francais c'est bein maintanant
    Mickorod Renard: bien*
    Agatha Macbeth: Mais oui ;-)
Agatha Macbeth: Bein means leg in german tho :p
Zen Arado: ha I went to a French class last night that was far too advanced for me
    Agatha Macbeth: Aww
Agatha Macbeth: Old dogs and new tricks
Zen Arado: I'm an advanced beginner only :)
    Agatha Macbeth: Well that's a start ;_)
Zen Arado: I don't believe that one Aga
Agatha Macbeth: Seriously, it's much harder to absorb stuff as you get older
Zen Arado: old doga CAN learn new tricks
Mickorod Renard: my son speaks french in slang too
Agatha Macbeth: For kids of course, they are like a sponge
    Mickorod Renard: like gangsta french
Zen Arado: I think it depends more on your attitude
    Agatha Macbeth: Mon dieu
Zen Arado: shprt term memory isn't as good is all
    Agatha Macbeth: Mine certainly ain't
Zen Arado: they found that in the OU
Agatha Macbeth: I often have to write things down now or I forget
Zen Arado: older people do just as well in learning but not so well in exams
Mickorod Renard: I forget to write them down
Zen Arado: where more reliance on memory
Agatha Macbeth: That I can understand, yes
    arabella Ella: back
    Agatha Macbeth: Hello back
    Zen Arado: wb Ara
arabella Ella: depends on what sort of exams Zen as not all exams are memory some require holistic thinking and synthesis
Zen Arado: I was watching a prog about the big bang but didn't understand much of it
Mickorod Renard: I dont think anyone does
Zen Arado: well yes Ara but you don't get much time for that in exams
Agatha Macbeth: I think you need to be a physicist to grasp all of that
Zen Arado: I don't think they understand it either
Agatha Macbeth: They try bless em
arabella Ella: well zen when you assess someone in exams you assess understanding not parrot like memory - in many cases possibly not all
    Agatha Macbeth: I hated exams
Mickorod Renard: thats a good idea aRA
Zen Arado: true but you can't synthesize if you can'ty remember what was in the course
arabella Ella: i hate exams too but with problems with plagiarism today most people have no alternative
Zen Arado: they have good software to detect it though
arabella Ella: although there are also good plagiarism detectors on line nowadays
Mickorod Renard: well, much is cut and paste
    Zen Arado: yeh
    arabella Ella: yes snap Zen!
arabella Ella: cut and paste is NOT good Mick they can be asked to resign from a course for doing that
    Mickorod Renard: :)
Zen Arado: we aren't allowed to put our work on the courase forum until after assignment is marked
Zen Arado: in case it detects our own wwork as plagiarism
    Agatha Macbeth: OMG
Zen Arado: but I AM Zen Arado...honest
arabella Ella: yes i know about that Zen but you can check your own work out once beforehand cant you?
      --BELL--1415
    Agatha Macbeth: Honest Zen
arabella Ella: and if it detects your own work from the course forum you can tell from the date
Agatha Macbeth: I'm so glad I've left all this behind
    Zen Arado: creates difficulties though
Mickorod Renard: I wouldnt copy my own work,,cos it would be wrong again
    Zen Arado: I'm enjoying it
    Agatha Macbeth: Ha
    Mickorod Renard: :)
Zen Arado: course tutor asked me about SL
Zen Arado: do I create a character in SL?
Zen Arado: oh soory for talking
    Agatha Macbeth: NW
Zen Arado: it's creative writing course
Zen Arado: funny but I have just come to bit about how to create characters
arabella Ella: what did you answer Zen - do you create a character in SL?
Zen Arado: maybe we do that with avs?
    Alfred Kelberry: oh, hi
    Alfred Kelberry: you guys
    Agatha Macbeth: Here he is
    arabella Ella: Alfie is back!
    Zen Arado: Ho Boxy
Alfred Kelberry: i had a phone call
    Agatha Macbeth: Girlfriend?
    Alfred Kelberry: sort of
    Agatha Macbeth: Ooh
Zen Arado: a bone call? groan
Alfred Kelberry: not quite my type
    Agatha Macbeth: Aww
Alfred Kelberry: zen, did you say boner call? :)
Zen Arado: no I wouldn't be so crude :)
    Alfred Kelberry: ooh la la!
Mickorod Renard: boner call,,thats an interesting phrase
    Zen Arado: telephone sex
    Agatha Macbeth: Heavy breathing
    Mickorod Renard: calm down Ags
    Zen Arado: :)
Alfred Kelberry: "this is my boner call. i must go!"
    Agatha Macbeth: Ok
    Mickorod Renard: he he
    Mickorod Renard: pants
Agatha Macbeth: I wondered what on earth I was looking at then - it's K's feet
Alfred Kelberry: you came too close, aga :)
Agatha Macbeth: Yeh, camera angles do odd things sometimes
Zen Arado: how much could you describe someone from SL?
Agatha Macbeth: Depends on the person I guess
Alfred Kelberry: pretty accurate by their appearance :)
Zen Arado: depends how much they tell you
Mickorod Renard: and,,how correct u want it to be
    Agatha Macbeth: That too
    Zen Arado: yeh
Alfred Kelberry: aga is a sexy doll with love of fashion and boots
    Agatha Macbeth: True
    Alfred Kelberry: see? :)
    Alfred Kelberry: easy
Agatha Macbeth: At least you didn't say sex doll
Zen Arado: but I have no idea of her RL persona
    Alfred Kelberry: aga ;)
Mickorod Renard: that was on my copy
Zen Arado: well some things I guess
Agatha Macbeth: Just as well ;-)
Alfred Kelberry: zen, i think you do
    Zen Arado: yeh
Zen Arado: know more about Wol
Zen Arado: but trying to create characters
Alfred Kelberry: if you consciously separate avs from their operators, then yes. you can never know. but they *are* connected and one, indeed.
Zen Arado: can just be based on people
    Agatha Macbeth: Agreed Alf
Mickorod Renard: its an interesting point Alf
Alfred Kelberry: rl meetup is a prove of that. everyone i met was so much like their avs.
    Alfred Kelberry: even in appearance

Would be interesting to meet a cardboard dog in RL :p
Zen Arado: I feel uneasy with avs who reveal little about their RL
Agatha Macbeth: In what way Alf? Looks or persona?
Alfred Kelberry: zen, remember what you have learned about dropping in pab :)
    Alfred Kelberry: aga, both, actually
Mickorod Renard: well,,how much is the persona the real person even in rl?
    Agatha Macbeth nods
    arabella Ella: back
    Mickorod Renard: Hi
Zen Arado: idf they don't say there is nothing to drop :)
    Alfred Kelberry: mick, good point
    Zen Arado: yes
Mickorod Renard: I think the persona is driven by the ego
Zen Arado: I told the tutor that this RL person is a construction too
Zen Arado: a character I made up
    Korel Laloix: back
Zen Arado: I'm just a figment of my imagination:)
    Zen Arado: wb Kori
    Korel Laloix smiles
Alfred Kelberry: zen, there's your expectation of another person behind the av. it's worth to drop sometimes :)
Zen Arado: but the av IS the person
Agatha Macbeth: Don't start on duality Zen ;-)
    Zen Arado: heh
    Alfred Kelberry: zen, exactly :)
    Zen Arado: ok
Alfred Kelberry: oh yes, let's not go there :) zen is the only duality expert around here and we're just so amateurs :)
Zen Arado: whatever it all is it's fun anyway
arabella Ella: so Alfie say some more please on how you did not have too many surprises when you met avis in RL face to face?
Agatha Macbeth: Fun is the name of the game
      --BELL--1430
Zen Arado: I'm not an expert anything
arabella Ella: wasn't Descartes your great great great grand dad Zen?
arabella Ella: or was it uncle?
Mickorod Renard: I am an expert at not being an expert
    Zen Arado: nope
    arabella Ella: owwwwww
Zen Arado: he was French for a start
    Agatha Macbeth: Cogito ergo sum
Alfred Kelberry: ara, first, i did not expect anything, except for people to show up. and i took it from there :) it worked out splendidly
    Agatha Macbeth: Yay
    Mickorod Renard: thats disgracful
    arabella Ella: nice
arabella Ella: nice said to Alfie
Mickorod Renard: sorry, thats what I meant
    Agatha Macbeth: What's disgracful?
arabella Ella: and Zen what if Descartes was French? are the Irish so pure?
    Agatha Macbeth: :p
    Alfred Kelberry: :)
Zen Arado: oh no we're all mongrels :)
Agatha Macbeth: The french couldn't drink so much guiness, that's a fact
    arabella Ella: he he
Alfred Kelberry: attention! the wolf has landed!
arabella Ella: the french simple drink different stuff cos they have different taste both for food and drink
Zen Arado: could drink a lot of Pernod
    Gilles Kuhn: Hoooooowls!!
    Agatha Macbeth: Bonsoir Gilles
    arabella Ella: *simply
    Zen Arado: Hi Gilles
    Gilles Kuhn: hello all
Mickorod Renard: but the word french was brought up
    Mickorod Renard: Hi Gilles
    arabella Ella: Hiya Gilles!
Zen Arado: I read Rousseau one time
    Zen Arado: he was French
    Agatha Macbeth: Only once?
Gilles Kuhn: ara hello and you know the taste for drinks of the french and spanish are the same the two latters just drinking more
Zen Arado: 'The Social Contract' was that it?
Gilles Kuhn: spanish and belgian i meant
    Agatha Macbeth: Harold Wilson?
    Gilles Kuhn: and the Emile
Mickorod Renard: some dutch are spanish
    Mickorod Renard: thats close
Agatha Macbeth: Wonder if Pema is? ;P
Zen Arado: there's Spanish blood in the Iris
    Agatha Macbeth: Iris who?
Zen Arado: from wrecked Spanish galleons
Zen Arado: those English people chased them there
arabella Ella: isnt there latin blood in most of us?
arabella Ella: and gaelic blood too
