druth Vlodovic: not really,in some ways my real face can be seen as a mask, since I didn't choose it

Xirana Oximoxi: wonderful artists showing their works there...Graphic art has universal language...so...no matter is most is in German:)
Bleu Oleander: we've been playing with masks
Lila Darkmatter: gesture, signs... nods, universal
Xirana Oximoxi: yes.... even if also different cultures have different gestures...
Lila Darkmatter: often something similar in the history... a shared mythology perhaps
Xirana Oximoxi: more easier to understand than words...
Xirana Oximoxi: yes...if we takl about occidental society
Xirana Oximoxi: we share a lot of influences of Greek and roman culture
Lila Darkmatter: I was in a greek restaurant the other day and in the corner of my eye someone was very excitable... I looked over and felt I had been swept into a conversation... except each in the group was using only sign language
Lila Darkmatter: but I wasn't left out though I didn't speak the language
Lila Darkmatter: well... I know my alphabet :)
Xirana Oximoxi: oh! really interesting Lila
Lila Darkmatter: I noticed though, how in some ways the conversation was as loud as if there had been words
Lila Darkmatter: verbal
Xirana Oximoxi: yes.... a lot of expressivity
Xirana Oximoxi: also with only signs language
Xirana Oximoxi: they show it more maybe than with words
Lila Darkmatter: in this case yes
Lila Darkmatter: am word heavy in my life I think

Xirana Oximoxi: well... not sure if It has the same meaning for me...I understand it, as in RL I usually hear more than I speak
Lila Darkmatter: even in SL some are very good at communicating through visuals and gestures and building of places
Bleu Oleander wonders if there is something like a pedometer for words
Lila Darkmatter: while others lean more on words in communication
Xs Andree: I'm a writer.
Xirana Oximoxi: sure....in SL we also express the better ways we know
Lila Darkmatter: what do you write primarily Xs?
Xs Andree: so far, lol unfinished fiction.
Xirana Oximoxi: if you are a writer...probably better with words
Lila Darkmatter: there are open edges in all these categories also
Xs Andree: satire, horror, humor, science-fantasy
Lila Darkmatter: excellent... maybe disparate strings will come together at some point... or remain unfinished in a satisfying way :)
Xs Andree: This current one I'm working on will be finished.
Lila Darkmatter: sheer will?
Lila Darkmatter: :)
Xs Andree: I found a way to keep the ideas coming.
Xs Andree: fill in the gaps between what I have planned and what I don't.
Xirana Oximoxi: I am sure SL is also a good place to share and increase expreiences with your writitng.... (maybe)
Xs Andree: This here is about the only thing I do in SL anymore. That might change, but everything else is frustrating.
Xirana Oximoxi: for me it's an amazing way to see and know what artist of around the world are doing
Lila Darkmatter: good resources in SL, but giving and receiving feedback can replace personal writing... so many interesting people
Lila Darkmatter: how do you fill the gaps Xs? practically speaking?
Xs Andree: I just use elements from my real life, fictionalize them.
Lila Darkmatter: I find that my writing is inspired by going to an art exhibit more than going to a writing event Xiri :)
Xirana Oximoxi: not sure if I understand your last sentence Xs...you mean that you don't feel SL expreiences interesting for your writings?
Xirana Oximoxi: ok... now I understand better...:) I was refering te the sentece before this one:)
Xs Andree: No, I mean that if it weren't for "Play at Being" I would have already left second Life again
Lila Darkmatter: nice that you feel that way - you left before?
Xs Andree: about two years ago
