Storm Nordwind: Art is not about creating an impression. It's about giving the opportunity for the listener/reader/viewer to create an impression. So there are lots of different impressions for each work of art, that change with different people and different times.
druth Vlodovic: I remember a British performer talking about how creepy it was to play in the US, because the audience would sit and listen attentively while he performed

Storm Nordwind: The more an artist tries to control the final impression, the shorter-lived will be their artwork.
druth Vlodovic: I guess he was more accustomed to people who became the performance while attening
Storm Nordwind: Mick Jagger famously said that the US audience's attitude was, "I want to be entertained. Entertain me."
