The Guardian for this meeting was Maxine Walden. The comments are by Maxine.

    Wol Euler: hello maxine
Maxine Walden: hi, Wol, cute outfir
    Maxine Walden: outfit!
    Wol Euler smiles. Thank you
    Maxine Walden: :)
    Maxine Walden: how's life?
Wol Euler: pretty good, on teh whole
Wol Euler: certainly better than every known alternative.
    Maxine Walden: :)) indeed!
Wol Euler: work is entering the final phase, where there remains an enormous amount of work on the building site to do, but relatively little for us
Maxine Walden: ah, is that a satisfying place to be?
Wol Euler: our role switches from pro-active (designing, specifying, choosing materials) to reactive (solving problems, defusing crises, mediating between feuding companies)
Wol Euler: that is not so much fun, no
    Maxine Walden: :)
Maxine Walden: ah, interesting demarcation of tasks
    Wol Euler smiles
Wol Euler: one of the many things one doesn'T learn in college :)
    Wol Euler: hello susan
Maxine Walden: indeed! Does sound like what leaders encounter though, leading and helping others to follow along
    iwandertoo Resident: Hi Wol, Maxine
    Wol Euler nods.
    Maxine Walden: hi, Susan
Wol Euler: what this means for the office is that the boss is onsite fulltime at least two days a week
Wol Euler: and we have little to do until he brings home a crisis for us to solv3ew
    Wol Euler: *solve
Wol Euler: so I'm on 3.5 day weeks until the building is finished, or until we get a new project
    Qt Core: I all
    Wol Euler: sera qt
    iwandertoo Resident: hi Qt
    Maxine Walden: hi, Qt
Qt Core: do we have a topic ?
Maxine Walden: none specific at this point Qt.
Maxine Walden: Have something you would like to bring?
Maxine Walden: sometimes just being together in the silence is rather nice, calming...
    --BELL--
    Qt Core: i agree
    Maxine Walden: :)
Maxine Walden: Any PaB issues come to mind?
iwandertoo Resident: what is a "PaB issue"?
Wol Euler: PaB as in "Play as Being" :)
    iwandertoo Resident: yes, but...
iwandertoo Resident: what is meant by "issue"
Maxine Walden: My comment was just whether anyone had some thoughts, observations, things they might want to share about Play as Being or their own experience at these sessions....meant to be an open ended question
iwandertoo Resident: i see, thank you
Maxine Walden: My mind was also wending toward a discussion we had last Sunday 1300 SLT session about dreams...
    Wol Euler: ah?
Maxine Walden: We all sort of got into the swing of discussing dreams and dreaming, sort of a 'dream team' of sorts. Not wishing to direct the conversation especially, just mentioning some of the recent discussions...
Qt Core: this was a quiet week in dreamland for me, i think i had some but no memory of them
    Maxine Walden: :)
Wol Euler: I was dreaming this morning htat I'd been drafted onto a submarine
Wol Euler: it was a very domestic feeling place, but definitely military discipline
    Maxine Walden: hmm, interesting
Wol Euler: the crew rooms were like hostels, single beds and a little table each; only real difference was that there were no windows
Wol Euler: 4 to a room
Qt Core: wonder how a domestic feeling for a such closed space and under water would be analyzed ;-)
Maxine Walden: :) wondering what feeling it brought to the dreamer
Wol Euler: I was not nearly as uncomfortable as I felt that I shold have been. I hadn'T the faintest idea why I was there or what I should do, but I felt sure that it would be OK somehow
    --BELL--
Wol Euler: something else: I was at lest sometimes naked in the dream, but without the embarrassment and discomfort that being naked usually brings
    Maxine Walden: hi, Gaya!
    Gaya Ethaniel: Hello :)
    iwandertoo Resident: waves
    Wol Euler: hello gaya
    Qt Core: hi Gaya
Maxine Walden: Sounds, Wol, like a voyage in which you feel in good hands, maybe into the unknown, but feeling safe
    Wol Euler smiles.
Maxine Walden: when some might be uncomfortable: the military, the no windows, naked
Wol Euler: indeed, that's why I felt during hte dream that I should have been more concerned than I was
    Maxine Walden: hmm
Maxine Walden: so maybe not feeling sufficient concern rather than in safe hands?
Wol Euler: I wasn'T aware of the command structure, there were no officers giving orders
Wol Euler: hard to say whether I felt in good hands, or just unconcerned
Maxine Walden: I had just been impressed for whatever reason, with your sense of comfort
Qt Core: or you were the commander so no one bothered you ?
Maxine Walden: but that might be my own read...so many ways to think about dreams, and the potential meanings can change so
Wol Euler: oh no, I was definitely not the commander :) I was a drafted sailor, lowest level trainee
    Wol Euler: press-ganged, almost
Wol Euler: I had to be there, but I wasn't aware of what the reason was
    Maxine Walden: mysterious voyage
Wol Euler: as an architect, what surprises me most is how thoroughly domestic the submarine was in scale and feeling
Wol Euler: more like an ocean liner
    Wol Euler: but without windows
Maxine Walden: spacious though closed container
Wol Euler: the dream centred around our cabin, and how we settled in there
Maxine Walden: yes, your architect's sensibilities might be significant re the dream
Wol Euler: I was first in, and so had first choice of bed. Discovered immediately that there was no closet space, what to do with my stuff?
Gaya Ethaniel: Air in submarines are bad ... did you smell anything odd?
Wol Euler smiles and shakes her head. We don't need to spend the whole session on this silly dream :)
Wol Euler: no smell at all, gaya; seldom in my dreams
    Gaya Ethaniel: oh ... ok
Maxine Walden: But, Wol, your dream might be sort of a dream for us all; sometimes that seems to happen, in my experience,..
    Gaya Ethaniel: :)
Gaya Ethaniel: Yes like what am I doing here :)
Maxine Walden: of the many levels of dreams, one may be a sort of message, for/about the whole group
Maxine Walden: and maybe being the first of 4 is interesting...whether in a family, in a group, among peers....(notice we do have 5 here right now)
    Wol Euler smiles.
    --BELL--
Wol Euler: I'm wondering now where the knowlege that it was a submarine came in, how I got to that
Wol Euler: can't remember, and I fear that trying to force it will modify the dream, falsify the memory
Gaya Ethaniel admires Maxine's way of speaking :)
Maxine Walden: oh, Gaya? (looking back to see what I said...)
Gaya Ethaniel: You just have an amazing way of articulating ... facilitating conversations .... trying to emulate that :P
    Maxine Walden: ah. :)
Gaya Ethaniel: mm ... so in this dream, you were lucid Wol?
Wol Euler: I'm not sure that I understand what lucid dreaming is :)
Wol Euler: I'm inclined to say no, I was just watching hte dream and noticed now unconcerned the dreamer was
Gaya Ethaniel: [13:47] Wol Euler: can't remember, and I fear that trying to force it will modify the dream, falsify the memory
Gaya Ethaniel: ah ... you mean now as you are retelling.
Wol Euler: that is me now, analyzing it. I fear that the analysis will falsify my memory of the dream, by putting it into a structure and order that wasn't really there
    Gaya Ethaniel: ah ok
Maxine Walden: As I think about the dream and our session right now, something comes to mind: maybe we are all underway in a kind of voyage, together, not sure where we are going, or maybe what we are seeing...
    Wol Euler smiles.
Maxine Walden: and we feel safe together, perhaps at times a bit naked, not sure who is in charge....maybe sometimes we feel press-ganged tho that may not fit in so well...
    Wol Euler smiles.
Wol Euler: I thought as I was describing the shared room, just now, that there was a paralle to the feeling of settling into the retreat space at Halifax last summer
    Maxine Walden: Oh, interesting, Wol
Wol Euler: it was the same kind of anticipation that I felt in the dream, I was not at all worried about going into war to be killed or maimed, or to have to kill
    Maxine Walden: hmm
Wol Euler: in fact, I realize that I am assuming that "submarine" equals "military", that wasn't necessarily true in the dream
Maxine Walden: submarine could be a voyage into one's interior, I suppose
Maxine Walden: or that of the group perhaps
Gaya Ethaniel: heheh it is one of my nickname ... sometimes we do need to do that ... voyage into oneself :)
    Wol Euler smiles.
Gaya Ethaniel: Interesting ... so you were naked in this room?
Wol Euler: not always, but yes; as the othes arrived I was
    Gaya Ethaniel: ok
Wol Euler: I think the distress of nakedness in dreams is sometimes associated with status/power, the naked person is "lower" than the dressed
Wol Euler: that wasn't here, though I was naked we were equal socially
    --BELL--
Maxine Walden: Well, I have to go...can imagine the discussion of this interesting dream could go on and on...a kind of personal and group submariner voyage of considerable interest :)
    Wol Euler smiles.
Gaya Ethaniel: Enjoy the rest of your day Maxine :)
Wol Euler: thank you, maxine, that was very interesting exploration
    Wol Euler: enjoy your sunday
    iwandertoo Resident: waves
Maxine Walden: wonder if Wol will feel too exposed if the title of the chatlog is 'Wol's dream' ?
    Gaya Ethaniel: :P
Wol Euler: nah, go for it :)
Maxine Walden: OK,will do. See you all later...
Gaya Ethaniel: You always have submarine to hide into at any rate, Wol :P
    Wol Euler: right
Gaya Ethaniel: I find this comment quite interesting - [13:59] Wol Euler: I think the distress of nakedness in dreams is sometimes associated with status/power, the naked person is "lower" than the dressed
    Wol Euler: mmm?
    Wol Euler: do you agree?
Gaya Ethaniel: Well some people would associate 'nakedness' with other things I think.
    Wol Euler: of course :)
Gaya Ethaniel: So I was curious :)
Wol Euler: being naked among strangers who aren't naked is (for me, usually) distressing in the dream
Gaya Ethaniel: I mean you connect it to 'status'.
Wol Euler: yes in the sense that I fear being judged by them, or attacked verbally or physically
Gaya Ethaniel: Was that related to the distress too then?
    Wol Euler: yep
    Gaya Ethaniel: ah ok
Gaya Ethaniel: ah so it was kind of ... protection rather than status?
Wol Euler: yes, "status" is perhaps too loaded a word for what I meant
    Gaya Ethaniel: ah ok
Wol Euler: I didn'T mean social class or corporate rank
    iwandertoo Resident: waves...best to everyone
    Gaya Ethaniel: ah ok
Wol Euler: bye susan, take care
    Gaya Ethaniel: Bye iwandertoo :)
Gaya Ethaniel: Gotta go ... nice seeing you both, bfn :)
Qt Core: trying to remember if i ever been naked in my dreams but i don't think
    Wol Euler: huh :)(
Gaya Ethaniel: no? that's surprising ...
Qt Core: maybe in a couple one, but surely not in a distressing way ;-)
Wol Euler: sure, there are of course other ways to be naked :)
Wol Euler: depends on the context, and who else is there, and why you are ther
    Wol Euler: etc etc
Qt Core: but then i don't put much weight on dreams i think about them as just random day thoughts still wandering in the brain, thay may have connections with what worry you, but as an accident, not as a cause
Qt Core: let we say in a "statistical" way
Wol Euler: I've had dreams that were quite definitely caused by events of the day(s) before, in response to those events
Wol Euler: but I must go too, sadly. To be continued
Wol Euler: goodnight, qt, take care
    Qt Core: :-)
    Qt Core: ok, bye Wol
