The guardian for this session was Maxine Walden.  The comments are hers.

This session in my view was one which meandered as to the heart of the session, and my view again was that it was difficult to focus on meaning; that many of us may have been a bit disconnected with our centers to know where our own meaning might reside.  Thus a shifting focus, which wound up focussing on the beauties but also extremities of the natural world.

Bertram Jacobus: with my own language i´m content with the communication ... but ty for all your very friendly comments (and sry - i had to write a message in between - that is why my response is so lagged)

FcSeeker Resident: my belief is that each one has the reason as the need to be able to be born to live a human life

Bertram Jacobus: i don´t think, there is something like a reason or a goal or something similar. i don´t know about all such things. i only know : the best i can try is to live as well as possible, for the welfare of all beings. but that is not a "reason" or a "goal" or something similar to me. only the bit i found out, for me ...

FcSeeker Resident: just that one cannot know about the congress before hand if it shall be without any purpose or not

Bertram Jacobus: and i think, that politics is a chance

Dash Earthboy: perhaps it could be argued that EVERYTHING is politics and religion

FcSeeker Resident: just thinking of people to meet for own reasons or as commanded to do so for some others reasons

Bertram Jacobus: but i find it also sad that so only few good peple use the means of politics seemingly

Dash Earthboy: the way one actually lives one's life is one's religion :)

Bertram Jacobus: there are so many different understandings of religion

Dash Earthboy: many like to confuse the issue Bert for sure

Dash Earthboy: that's politics :)

Korel Laloix: Perhapse, but many people claim a religion and dont follow it, or claim no religon and have a relgion without a diety.

Dash Earthboy: exactly Korel

Dash Earthboy: see, that is NOT their true religion!

Dash Earthboy: religion is a practice, not just what one says they believe

Maxine Walden: (Might get myself into trouble here, but am going to offer an observation about our conversation so far...)

Maxine Walden: Seems today some of us are dabbling in not taking much seriously; or seeing how little value/meaning others may seem to have eg Congress. Are we wondering what really matters to each of us?

Wol Euler: good question

Maxine Walden: I have found that sometimes when I get a bit off kilter, tired, etc, I am not sure where I am, or what really matters to me at the moment...and then I can become a bit cynical, wondering what matters...that is a personal example

Dash Earthboy: lots of medical science backs up the contention that sleep deprivation has negative emotional as well as physical effects

Wol Euler nods to Maxine. It's much harder to preserve balance of spirit when one is off-kilter

Maxine Walden: What I am wondering, Korel, is whether several of us might be feeling a bit distant from our well-being; in my experience when that occurs we tend to make become a little cynical, things look a bit darker or more bleak
