The Guardian for this meeting was Adams Rubble. The comments are by Adams Rubble.

We started out talking about SL viewers and instability and I crashed in the middle of the discussion

    Korel Laloix: Heya.
    Adams Rubble: Hello Korel
Adams Rubble: Have you been here before?
    Korel Laloix: Several times... thanks.
    iwandertoo Resident: Hi
Adams Rubble: Nice to meet you :)
Korel Laloix: Not that I have learned to type since my last time.
    Korel Laloix: osiyo.
    Adams Rubble: Hello Susan :)
Adams Rubble: Are you related to another avatar I have met here Korel?
Korel Laloix: Oh yes.... Korel is the New Freud Jungsten.
    Adams Rubble: :)
Korel Laloix: PHasing her out slowly.
Adams Rubble: Nice to see you then
Adams Rubble: My avatars refuse to be phased out. hehe
    Adams Rubble: Hello Xirana :)
Korel Laloix: Korel is actually my fourth AV.
iwandertoo Resident: not sure this is appropriate to ask
iwandertoo Resident: but...why do you change them - appearance?
Korel Laloix: But Freud is starting to act fully like my prvious ones did before they died.... so starting over early.
Adams Rubble: It is interesting we all have different ways of using our avatars
    iwandertoo Resident: hi Xirana
Xirana Oximoxi: hi Adams, Korel and Susan:)
Korel Laloix: No I try to make my AV look as much like me RL as I can.
Korel Laloix: So Korel and Freud are very similar just different clothes.
iwandertoo Resident: Might not be asking the correct way - why a new avatar?
Korel Laloix: Freud is starting to act strange like my earlier AVs did before they completely stopped working.
Korel Laloix: So, just geting ahead of the crash.
iwandertoo Resident: why does this happen?
Korel Laloix: No idea... and LL says it does not happen, but it does.
    iwandertoo Resident: wb
iwandertoo Resident: at times i login and all my phoenix settings are back to the default...i find this odd
Adams Rubble: All of the sudden I am having sudden crashes
Korel Laloix: AV changing shape for no reason, inventory items being listed but permently unopenable, not being able to give freinds the rights to mod your stuff, etc.
Adams Rubble: Did I miss anything?
Korel Laloix: We solved world hunger.
    Korel Laloix smiles
Adams Rubble: Oh good, thaat needed to be done :)
    iwandertoo Resident: :)
Xirana Oximoxi: I usually don't have this kind of problems.. but if I change the viewer, then I have a lot of thigs different in my Inventory
Korel Laloix: I think we could have done it quicker with you.
Korel Laloix: Or. more quickly maybe?
    Adams Rubble: Hello Yaku :)
Adams Rubble: Problems seem to come in bunches
    Xirana Oximoxi: hi Yaku:9
    Yakuzza Lethecus: hey everyone
Korel Laloix: I stil like the old SL viewer the best.
    Korel Laloix: osiyo
    iwandertoo Resident: hi Yaku
Adams Rubble: Have you tried Phoenix Korel?
    Korel Laloix: I have.
Korel Laloix: I tried a few, but he the OLD SL viewer seem to be the most stable and usable for me at least.
Korel Laloix: THe new SL viewer is just down right hostile... not sure why they went to that.
Xirana Oximoxi: I like viewer 2 because I can have the size of the letters in chat a little bigger
Korel Laloix: On several occations I have met frustrated new people that were about to quit Sl but I showed them the old veiwer and they decided to stay.
    Xirana Oximoxi: easy to read:)
Adams Rubble: I guess our locations have some affect on our experience too
Korel Laloix: You can change the font size in the old SL viewer.
Adams Rubble: but I find instability comes and goes and I am hopoing my present tendancy to crash goes away very soon :)
Korel Laloix: Everyone has different expereinces.
Korel Laloix: I am just thankful we have a choice.
Xirana Oximoxi: in Phoenix I think it's not possible
Xirana Oximoxi: probably we get used to one viewer and then it's not easy to change... lazy to learn how it works:)
Adams Rubble: just as we prefer to drive one car at a time :)
Xirana Oximoxi: yes! I agree Korel..
iwandertoo Resident: there is an option of small, medium, large fonts for chat in Phoenix chat
    --BELL--
Adams Rubble: I changed the font size in preferences and nothing seems to have happened
Xirana Oximoxi: yes Susan, I know, but only to read on screen. and as I am a little slow I must read in the chat window.... and there it seems no possible to modify the font size
    iwandertoo Resident: oh, sorry.
Adams Rubble: ahhh, that is the answer
    Xirana Oximoxi: :)
Adams Rubble: hehe. I see. it is now gigantic
    iwandertoo Resident: hi Luci
    Xirana Oximoxi: hi Luci:)
    Adams Rubble: Hello Lucinda :)
    Lucinda Lavender: hi all
Korel Laloix: I am usually one of the first ones to figure out new versions of software in the office, but the new SL viewer is just a mess. I gave up on that one quickly for me... smiles
    Adams Rubble: :)
Xirana Oximoxi: yes, me too..I'm usinf veiwer 2.3.... and I think now there is also a 2.5
Adams Rubble: The new viewer removed features that I like
    Xirana Oximoxi: for exemple?
    Xirana Oximoxi: :)
Adams Rubble: for one the "worn items" tab in iventory
Korel Laloix: The camera controls are not as functional as in the old viewer.
Adams Rubble: The easy camera controls
    Adams Rubble: :)
Adams Rubble: Phoneix has a neat radar tool
Xirana Oximoxi: yes! I like to see the 'worn items' too...
Adams Rubble: when you type "worn" in search other stuff a[ppears
Xirana Oximoxi: the radar is to see the people who is near, isn't it?
Adams Rubble: so the tab is good
Adams Rubble: The Phoenix radar sees far too :)
    Xirana Oximoxi: aha..:)
Lucinda Lavender: I have just started usuing phoenix
Adams Rubble: for example ----------- is 299 meters away right now (giggles)
Lucinda Lavender: getting used to the font
Xirana Oximoxi: I had too.. but I'm back to viewer 2:)
Yakuzza Lethecus: especially the one direct tp is nice too
Adams Rubble: yes, I use the direct tp all the time
Yakuzza Lethecus: you see someone on a platform 900m above and you can just tp isntead of flying
Adams Rubble: of course they might not be glad to see you. hehe
Lucinda Lavender: not sure why but viewer tw dissappeared wehn phoenix started...
Korel Laloix: Oh, that does sound nice.
    Xirana Oximoxi: ok Adams...I can't see '-------------:)
Adams Rubble: It is a Phoenix feature
    Korel Laloix: lol
Adams Rubble: I'll have to blank out that name in the log
    Xirana Oximoxi: ah yes! sorry
Korel Laloix: I think part of the reason I like the old veiwer as it rather simple, so it does not lag a relative to other viewers.
Adams Rubble: no, it was my fault :)
    Xirana Oximoxi: mine too:)
    Adams Rubble: yes Korel
Korel Laloix: My rate is very slow so I end up using Metabolt a lot of th time.
Xirana Oximoxi: I forget that it may be published later:)
Adams Rubble: (the yes was in response to simplicity)
Korel Laloix: It is a text only "viewer".
Yakuzza Lethecus: sometimes i used radegast
Yakuzza Lethecus: that´s also a text only viewer
Adams Rubble: I did too Xirana and I mentioned it first :)
    Xirana Oximoxi: :)
Yakuzza Lethecus: and radegast got voice :)
Lucinda Lavender: this is an interesting conversation to me yet I should go soon.
    Yakuzza Lethecus: haha
    Korel Laloix: So does Metabolt.
Yakuzza Lethecus: oh, i have to try it
    Korel Laloix: It works.
Lucinda Lavender: I am wondering how I can download viewer 2 again...
Adams Rubble: Nice you could stop by Lucinda :)
Korel Laloix: Just go tot eh SL website.
Korel Laloix: There is a place to download it.
Adams Rubble: Viewer2 is easy, just go to secondlife.com and follow download instructions
Lucinda Lavender: and it will not result in creating another av or something?
    Korel Laloix: No
Adams Rubble: no, unless you do create one
    Lucinda Lavender: ok thanks
    Adams Rubble: don't join
    Lucinda Lavender: ok
Adams Rubble: my lines are coming in the wrong order
Lucinda Lavender: this has been a qquestion in my mind of late
Xirana Oximoxi: just dowload the viewwer again and introduce your usual name and passwort as always do
    Lucinda Lavender: ok
    Lucinda Lavender: thnak you!
    Xirana Oximoxi: yvw:)
    Lucinda Lavender: thanks
Adams Rubble: If you have viewer2 loaded though, it should still be on your computer unless you deleted it
Lucinda Lavender: I wonder if maybe I did
Adams Rubble: the different viewers can coexist
Lucinda Lavender: it is listed on my dock but won't open anything
Adams Rubble: Ohh, the big advantage for me is that I can have more than one avatar inworld
    Lucinda Lavender: ok
Xirana Oximoxi: yes! I still have the archives in my computer, so probably Luci too
    Lucinda Lavender: archives...on a mac?
    --BELL--
Xirana Oximoxi: ah! sorry Luci...in a mac I don't know!!!
Korel Laloix: Now Macs are another choice I am glas I have, but never want to use.... smiles
Lucinda Lavender: annoying woman...I love that name:)
    Xirana Oximoxi: :)
Korel Laloix: SO many people commented on that quality, that I just adopted the title.
Lucinda Lavender: not sure what it brings up for me but something...compassion or something.
Adams Rubble: Does anyone have any thoughts about their practice they might like to share?
    Korel Laloix: Practice?
Xirana Oximoxi: Adams, to which practice' do you refer to?
Adams Rubble: Well we are an exploratory gorup...
    Adams Rubble: playing as Being
    Xirana Oximoxi: yes
Adams Rubble: how are our explorations going?
Adams Rubble: maybe a better way to phrase it
Xirana Oximoxi: exploring SL for exemple?
Adams Rubble: I think SL is a place we can do our explorations often
Adams Rubble: Our avatars can help us see ourselves from a different perspective
Lucinda Lavender: well just yesterday for me I was able to see into being "in the moment" rather than worryingabout letting others down.
    Adams Rubble: :)
Xirana Oximoxi: yes! and I've learned to accept myself a little better too:)
    Lucinda Lavender: :)
Adams Rubble: perceived expectations fo others can be a heavy weight on us
Lucinda Lavender: I could have the title above myself anxious to please woman
Yakuzza Lethecus: yes, especially when there are internal and external perspectives colliding, that brings a lot of material to contemplate about
Korel Laloix: It can be a motivation as well though.
    Lucinda Lavender: which it:)?
Adams Rubble: yes, it is one of our motivaations
Korel Laloix: I sort of like having people depend on me.
    Lucinda Lavender: nods
Korel Laloix: But I think I limit that to a healthy level.
Korel Laloix: And I think that is Ok because I depend on others... part of being in a community and relationships.
Adams Rubble: we are interconnected :)
Lucinda Lavender: wanting to be of help does keep me connected as well...tho time alone is good practice for me
Lucinda Lavender: when done with awareness I think
Xirana Oximoxi: yes! but it's not easy to feel part of a community in SL. (I mean out of PaB)
    Lucinda Lavender: ah
Korel Laloix: I dissagree with that.
Korel Laloix: I have other peer groups in SL that I depend on for support.
Adams Rubble: There are other communities in SL
Korel Laloix: Some even extend into RL.
    Adams Rubble: yes Korel
Korel Laloix: Or some are extensions of RL groups into SL.
    Lucinda Lavender: me too
Adams Rubble: This is a nice community though :)
Lucinda Lavender: a whole dream based community
Xirana Oximoxi: ah! yes...sure there are more groups..it's a matter to look for:)
Korel Laloix: And I have been in SL for a long time, so maybe that has something to do with it as well.
Korel Laloix: You have to get used to this odd form of interaction before you can really connect in it maybe.
Lucinda Lavender: one gets more confrtable in how to navigate
Xirana Oximoxi: I haven't expend a lot of time looking for gropus..so I really don't know
Korel Laloix: There are a lot.
Adams Rubble: Time is an issue. we can't spend all out time in front of a computer. hehe
    Xirana Oximoxi: yes, I know:)
    Lucinda Lavender: nods!
Xirana Oximoxi: that's what happen to me Adams.. not enough time..
    Adams Rubble: Hello Wol :)
    Wol Euler: hello everyone
    Yakuzza Lethecus: hey wol :)
    iwandertoo Resident: hi Wol
    Xirana Oximoxi: hello Wol:)
Adams Rubble: Nice to see you here Wol :)
    Lucinda Lavender: HI Wol:)
Korel Laloix: I usually do SL while bored or under worked at work, so I probbly have more SL time than most.
Wol Euler: ty, nice to be here again
    --BELL--
Yakuzza Lethecus: well, it´s interesting with time and secondlife, i often feel that i don´t spend enough time with friends and contacts i made here, then on the other side in rl ppl already give me the perception that i am an internetjunkie so, all about balance
    Wol Euler nods.
Adams Rubble: Internetjunkie? I would never call you that Yaku :)
Korel Laloix: Both RL and SL relationships take effort.
Korel Laloix: But people tend to come and go.
Korel Laloix: I only have one freind on here left from 2005, a couple from 2006,7 and 8.
Xirana Oximoxi: I agree about learnig to keep balance between rl and sl... sometimes sl is very atractive:)
Adams Rubble: People disappear more completely from SL than in RL. Takes effort to move away in RL :)
    Korel Laloix: Way to true.
    Adams Rubble: Hello Bruce :)
Adams Rubble: It is nice when one meets a SL firend in RL :)
    Wol Euler: hello bruce
    Yakuzza Lethecus: hey bruce
    Xirana Oximoxi: hello Bruce:)
    iwandertoo Resident: waves
    Yakuzza Lethecus smiles
Wol Euler smiles at Adams. Indeed it is.
    Bruce Mowbray: Hey, everyone.
Adams Rubble: Wol and I spent a few hours at the Rubin Museum in NYC last week
Xirana Oximoxi: well, usually in rl you have more ways to find or to know what happen to friends
Korel Laloix: I met a couple a couple of people on SL that I ended up going through a lot of trouble to not meet them again RL.
    Adams Rubble: oh Korel
    Wol Euler: :(
Xirana Oximoxi: here, if you don't have more informations, people desapear and you don't know wahy
Korel Laloix: SL teaches you caution for sure....
Xirana Oximoxi: it's important to be very careful with online relations..not only SL
    Korel Laloix: True.
Xirana Oximoxi: that's what I've read :)) for me SL is the first experience
    Adams Rubble: Hello Sun :)
    Yakuzza Lethecus: hey sun
    Xirana Oximoxi: hi sister Sun:)
    iwandertoo Resident: waves
Korel Laloix: You can get paranoid though.
    Bruce Mowbray: Hey, Sun!
Wol Euler looks around. Where is she?
Yakuzza Lethecus: well, i met pabbers 3-4 times so far and of course my girlfriend nearly every month since we are together, so at least those i met rl were never problematic encounters
Adams Rubble: Ohh, Sunshone seems to have gone to the pavilion
    Wol Euler: ah
Adams Rubble: to the hall I mean
Bruce Mowbray: Yes, She's at the Village Hall for the Guardian mtg.
Wol Euler: ah, is this sunday?
    Wol Euler: mus be
Korel Laloix: I have met a few at SL events RL. but the ones that I have met just one on one have been either very good or very very bad.
    Adams Rubble: hehe, yes Wol
Xirana Oximoxi: I think that if you usually go to same places like here or some reading groups, Goethe institut.. all nice people, but I've been dancing and I've also met some ..lets call 'strange' people
Adams Rubble: There are many strange strangers in SL :)
    Wol Euler nods.
    Xirana Oximoxi: yes:)
Korel Laloix: I have never met any strange people in SL... smirks
    Xirana Oximoxi: lol
Korel Laloix: It might be a qualifcation for an acount.
    Wol Euler: wow, green eliza
    iwandertoo Resident: waves
    Wol Euler: :)
    Xirana Oximoxi: hi Eliza:)
Yakuzza Lethecus: bye for now, see most at the hall
    Wol Euler: yes
    Korel Laloix: Ciao
Bruce Mowbray: I'm going to wander over to the Village Hall myself.
    Bruce Mowbray: Be well, everyone.
Adams Rubble: bye to those going to the hall. I will not be able to go today
    Wol Euler: it's time
    Xirana Oximoxi: hi observem
    Wol Euler: bye for now
Adams Rubble: thanks Bruce, you too
Xirana Oximoxi: bye Adams and all
Korel Laloix: THe other meeting then?
Adams Rubble: There is a meeting of the guardians Korel
    Adams Rubble: a business meeting
    --BELL--
    Korel Laloix: OH OK...
Korel Laloix: I don't qualify for that
Adams Rubble: This is the only session where the PaB session breaks up like this
Adams Rubble: Sometimes it feels a bit odd :)
    Korel Laloix: No worries.
Korel Laloix: It is nice to chate about somethings.
    Adams Rubble: yes it is
Korel Laloix: Normally good exchanges here.
Korel Laloix: Very unlike most of the rest of the "philosiphy" places.
    Adams Rubble: :)
Adams Rubble: It is important to respect other opinions
Korel Laloix: Used to love just going to Philosphy house just to sit around and listen to people insult and abuse each other because they were not as philisophcially adavnced... lol.
Adams Rubble: try to understand where they are coming from
    Adams Rubble: :)
Korel Laloix: Hard to do sometimes.
Adams Rubble: sometimes we can get caught up in our opinions and forget, yes
Korel Laloix: Some times it is difficult to get people to thoroughly explain their posstions.
    Korel Laloix: That is treu
Adams Rubble: yes, and sometimes we are just using different words
Korel Laloix: Yes... OK.. of to the RL tihing.
Adams Rubble: once we get past the words we often find we are not so far apart
Korel Laloix: Thanks for the chat.
Adams Rubble: nice to see you again
    Korel Laloix: CIao
Adams Rubble: Have a good day
    Adams Rubble: bye
