Eos Amaterasu, Lila Darkmatter and Santoshima Resident joined me tonight

    stevenaia Michinaga: evening
    Eos Amaterasu: evening, stevenaia!
stevenaia Michinaga: nice to see you, I think you and the photobooth have a date for tonight
Eos Amaterasu: Oh.... I think I did take some photos...
stevenaia Michinaga: oh, ok, blue will put your name on them and put them on the big board
    stevenaia Michinaga: Bleu
Eos Amaterasu: ah, this is an "open session" : thanks, stevenaia
Eos Amaterasu: (what luck - we've wandered into an open session :-)
stevenaia Michinaga: n.p., I am in the habit of attending and claiming :)
stevenaia Michinaga: care to present a topic of your choice?
Eos Amaterasu: is there a theme this week?
    stevenaia Michinaga: Boredom
Eos Amaterasu: could either refer to an irritated quality
Eos Amaterasu: or to a chilled out one
stevenaia Michinaga: never thought of it as chilling out, more of an impedimin to chilling out
Eos Amaterasu: there's a kind of negative boredom which is freaked out at the possibility of not doing, of not being occupied
    --BELL--
stevenaia Michinaga: agreed, the state of many youth and fewer adults, don;t know if we forgot about it or, like with youth, we grow out of it
Eos Amaterasu: and then being totally occupied can be like space: we call it flow
stevenaia Michinaga: yes, with boredom being like blocked Qi
Eos Amaterasu: itchyness, probably from some blockage
stevenaia Michinaga: watching my cat, who does much watching too, I don't see boredom there (not that I would know it if I jsut saw it), seems to be a human activity, or inactivity
    Eos Amaterasu: a-ware-ing....
Eos Amaterasu: meeting each other in such space would be the beginning of real politics
    stevenaia Michinaga: which space
    Eos Amaterasu: of cat-like aware-ing
    stevenaia Michinaga: aww
Eos Amaterasu: I think actually that's what some of these ceremonial greetings are supposed to be
Eos Amaterasu: like "namaste", which I believe is something like the god in me bows to the god in you
    Eos Amaterasu: or bowing
    stevenaia Michinaga: what, pls explain
Eos Amaterasu: nowadays we have Otto Scharmer (Presencing, Theory U) talking of meeting each other in our shared highest intentions
stevenaia Michinaga: not familiar with that
    stevenaia Michinaga: wikki ing him
Eos Amaterasu: sharing our personal and mutual "big chills"
Eos Amaterasu: ha ha, boredom as the big chill
stevenaia Michinaga: not much there :)
    --BELL--
stevenaia Michinaga: sound like goals similar to what Doug Sousa was working on at Stanford
stevenaia Michinaga: do you remember him
Eos Amaterasu: yes - can you say more?
stevenaia Michinaga: if I remember he was working on bringing people together to create a deeper understanding of the global climate situation
stevenaia Michinaga: in a way that would develop a broader change
    stevenaia Michinaga: in attitude
stevenaia Michinaga: not sure where he took that, at the time he was pondering how the 9 or 90 second meditations could be used
stevenaia Michinaga: I haven't seen him in quite a while
    Eos Amaterasu: Hi lila
Lila Darkmatter: Hi Eos, stevenaia :)
    stevenaia Michinaga: Hi Lila
Lila Darkmatter: don't let me intrude
    Lila Darkmatter: :)
stevenaia Michinaga: nice of you to join us tonight
    Lila Darkmatter: thank you
    Eos Amaterasu: we're bored
stevenaia Michinaga: we were just closing out this week's theme of boredom
Lila Darkmatter: :) happily bored? or restlesslybored?
    stevenaia Michinaga: :)
stevenaia Michinaga: is there a happy bored?
Lila Darkmatter: well Eos introduced Trungpa's phrase of "cool boredom"
Eos Amaterasu: also now linked with "the big chill" within which we can meet
stevenaia Michinaga: not sure I am familiar with that, could be I experience it so I don;t see it
Lila Darkmatter: too familiar to be familiar?
stevenaia Michinaga: hard to say until I see it, perhaps meditation is cool boredom
Eos Amaterasu: the idea of "cool boredom" is that it could be all right to just be there with nothing happening, or no need to flick the channel to the next thing happening
stevenaia Michinaga: can you give me an example
stevenaia Michinaga: I don;t see that as boredom
stevenaia Michinaga: most who are bored are not relaxed
Eos Amaterasu: it can then discover "enoughness" :-)
Eos Amaterasu: yes, it's a pradoxical and provocative use of language
Eos Amaterasu: for example, I would see tai chi moves as flowing in the space of nothing else happening
Lila Darkmatter: no way to accumulate
stevenaia Michinaga: yes, but never boring, it may just look that way
    --BELL--
    Lila Darkmatter: Hi, San
    stevenaia Michinaga: evening San
    Eos Amaterasu: Hi San
    Lila Darkmatter: :)
Eos Amaterasu: (the theme is boredom, San :-)
Santoshima Resident: yes, a wonderful topic
    stevenaia Michinaga: lol
Santoshima Resident: uhm, sorry to be late
    Santoshima Resident: whatdid i miss?
Lila Darkmatter: I was late too, so can't fill much in :)
stevenaia Michinaga: seems that boredom is not a boring topic when observed and discussed from the outside looking in
Lila Darkmatter: I'm always pondering "leave the gaps in your life where you find them" but I'm not great at that yet ... appreciating absence... maybe that touches on cool boredom
Santoshima Resident: "cool boredom"? is that different from "boredom? in general?
Lila Darkmatter: [19:42] Eos Amaterasu: the idea of "cool boredom" is that it could be all right to just be there with nothing happening, or no need to flick the channel to the next thing happening
    Santoshima Resident: oh, ok, ty
Santoshima Resident: brb ~ making tea
Eos Amaterasu: that's a nice approach, Lila - leave the gaps in your life where you find them
Lila Darkmatter: happened upon that sentence a year or so ago... think it is tagore
Eos Amaterasu: if you walk into a gap, let it be :-)
Lila Darkmatter: and sometimes follow the openings from one to another :)
    --BELL--
Eos Amaterasu: space and steps make dance
    Lila Darkmatter smiles
Eos Amaterasu: slow-dancing with space :-)
Lila Darkmatter: Night Eos, pleasant sleep
Eos Amaterasu: I must slow dance off: thanks all!
    Eos Amaterasu: good night!
    stevenaia Michinaga: night Eos
Santoshima Resident: bye Eos ~ rest well
    stevenaia Michinaga: thanks
Lila Darkmatter: I'm up late too... hope I get up for the guardians session tomorrow :)
Lila Darkmatter: or er... Eliza does
    Santoshima Resident: there is one?
    Lila Darkmatter: yes
Lila Darkmatter: I forgot to send a second notice... just now realizing
stevenaia Michinaga: smiles, I have a funeral, give my best to the group
    Lila Darkmatter: brb
    Santoshima Resident: np,
    stevenaia Michinaga: thanks Lila
Lila Darkmatter: Oh sorry to hear, Stevenaia
Lila Darkmatter: sigh... speaking of absences and gaps, eh :(
Lila Darkmatter: time to sleep too
    Santoshima Resident: g'night lila
Lila Darkmatter: wish you both sweet dreams
    Santoshima Resident: gtsy
    stevenaia Michinaga: night
    stevenaia Michinaga: thank you
