The Guardian for this meeting was Lucinda Lavender. The comments are by Lucinda Lavender.
Lucinda Lavender: Good morning fountain! I slept in accidentally...it is now 7:28...
--BELL--
Eliza Madrigal: Hello my juicy fruit friend
Lucinda Lavender: :))HI!
Lucinda Lavender: I woke up late!
Eliza Madrigal: Oh no
Lucinda Lavender: arrived a few minutes ago...
Lucinda Lavender: :(
Lucinda Lavender: How are you today?
Eliza Madrigal: it happens
Eliza Madrigal: well - just coming from chanting
Lucinda Lavender: in 2L?
Eliza Madrigal: yes... a practice I've been doing every morning for a few weeks now
Lucinda Lavender: how long does one do it?
Eliza Madrigal: 108 chants
Lucinda Lavender: ah
Eliza Madrigal: which is nice in SL because the guide keeps the time
Lucinda Lavender: out loud?
Eliza Madrigal: yes, although in SL one only hears the person leading
Lucinda Lavender: I would like to try that...
Eliza Madrigal: I've attended chants in SL that were a few voices together... as many as felt comfortable
Eliza Madrigal: but this one is very consistent
Lucinda Lavender: thanks for sharing about it
Eliza Madrigal: I'll give you a notecard about it
Lucinda Lavender: I have benn meditating more regularly
Eliza Madrigal: yes?
Lucinda Lavender: and that has been good...tho chanting is not something I have much experience with
Eliza Madrigal: sitting meditation?
Lucinda Lavender: I try to meditate every morning at 7 am
Lucinda Lavender: that is what fits schedule wise
Eliza Madrigal: wonderful
Lucinda Lavender: and after work as well
Lucinda Lavender: yes
Lucinda Lavender: sitting
Eliza Madrigal: I'd let discipline slip a lot in the last several months, but somehow the chanting seems to make the most of time and inspire a view/stance that brings me to also get back to other practices
Lucinda Lavender: other things and thoughts dropping away...yes
Eliza Madrigal: eventually I'd like to be disciplined enough to consider a dream yoga retreat, or hm... did you see the dark retreat link I posted at some point?
Lucinda Lavender: I am more inspired because the start of the school year and fall seem to fall are more busy=in need of inward focus for balance
Eliza Madrigal: ah, I see
Eliza Madrigal: this is a wonderful season to spend with children
Lucinda Lavender: no I did not...
Lucinda Lavender: see the link ...will look for it...I was reading about dream yoga retreat actually
Lucinda Lavender: just last night
Eliza Madrigal: http://www.thirteen.org/forum/topics...k-retreats/20/
Eliza Madrigal: Oh?
Lucinda Lavender: There will be one in Olympa Washington I saw
Lucinda Lavender: Olympia
Eliza Madrigal: who is the teacher?
Lucinda Lavender: Not sure but found it through looking up on the fellow from the kindness talk
Eliza Madrigal: Ah, yes :)
Lucinda Lavender: same feelo
Eliza Madrigal: same fellow
Eliza Madrigal: snap
--BELL--
Eliza Madrigal: I guess we should figure out dream circle at some point
Lucinda Lavender: Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche
Lucinda Lavender: yes!
Eliza Madrigal: I like the idea of going private or rather unrecorded, with them for a while
Lucinda Lavender: what are you thinking about it...?
Lucinda Lavender: yes!
Lucinda Lavender: I wonder...do you think it needs boundary? So few people attend it seems perhaps not necesarry
Eliza Madrigal: I think it may if we take it off record
Eliza Madrigal: because it will change the dynamic
Lucinda Lavender: I would like to makeI see:)
Eliza Madrigal: I saw you have your own talking stick... can you turn it into a stone? :)
Lucinda Lavender: I don't know
Lucinda Lavender: Cal said how to use it...it seems to float out above the center and then people click on it for their turn or something
Eliza Madrigal: yes
Lucinda Lavender: have you used one before?
Eliza Madrigal: and the text shows who picks it up and puts it down
Eliza Madrigal: yes
Lucinda Lavender: ah
Eliza Madrigal: hah... I remember when I met my first friends from an online group... many years ago... for everyone to speak we passed around a banana
Lucinda Lavender: I have been so busy it has been hard to contact Cal about using his retreat area...
Lucinda Lavender: AW...:)
Eliza Madrigal: I'd be happy there, or the tree house sounded interesting for this too
Lucinda Lavender: my new chickens love banana peels
Eliza Madrigal smiles
Lucinda Lavender: think they are like worms...
Lucinda Lavender: 4 new chickens mixed with the flock are more work
Lucinda Lavender: but settleing in
Eliza Madrigal: establishing
Lucinda Lavender: can we put baundaries around it?
Eliza Madrigal: well do you mean physical boundaries?
Lucinda Lavender: sp:)
Lucinda Lavender: I was thinking I heard you say we need privacy
Eliza Madrigal: yes... but I was thinking more that it would be a separate group in a way...
Eliza Madrigal: possibly with its own notices
Lucinda Lavender: ah
Eliza Madrigal: then with occasional open invite circles
Eliza Madrigal: that are for 'teaching' about it
Lucinda Lavender: does having it as a separate group give it privacy?
Lucinda Lavender: I would love that
Lucinda Lavender: the invitations and talks
Eliza Madrigal: well it makes a boundary between those who would really like to partake in a concentrated way and those who are just curious... while making time for the curious too
Lucinda Lavender: ah
Eliza Madrigal: and if someone wanted to really partake they join the group and are reminded each month
Eliza Madrigal: it isn't strictly necessary but is one idea
Lucinda Lavender: a good idea...reminders
Eliza Madrigal: so then when we restart we can have an open session - kind of like the OF open house was
Lucinda Lavender: yes!
--BELL--
Eliza Madrigal: (Luci and Eliza take to IM and decide to have their act together post-Thanksgiving)
Lucinda Lavender: :))
Lucinda Lavender: Yay!
Eliza Madrigal: hhaha
Eliza Madrigal: Yay :D
Lucinda Lavender: well off I must go ...thank you eliza for all your help in getting going:)
Eliza Madrigal: Lovely to see you this morning Luci
Eliza Madrigal: have a marvelous day
Lucinda Lavender: bye for now...and sweet dreams
Eliza Madrigal: sweet dreams :)
