Much of the snow had melted in the woods this morning with little islands of white on brown, and little islands of brown on white. It was just cold enough that the ground was firm underfoot. I did not push my mind to focus; my mind just rested and enjoyed the cheerful songs of many birds high in the trees. Otherwise the woods were quiet. A large fox sauntered across the trail in the distance. The brook burbled and bubbled as it rushed toward a lake. I am tired and grateful.
Conversation overheard as we are walking on a busy street at night: Older woman( in a dramatic voice) to a younger woman ( her daughter? her niece?): "Would you be able to keep a huge secret?" Apparently the younger one said yes, but I didn't hear her response. We kept giggling, imagining
what "huge secret" was going to be shared as we walked away.I felt connected to a shadow part of myself. I felt zero empathy for the woman. Only a cruel desire to mock her. My companion didn't
feel like that: he thought the older woman was invasive, the other one looked rather strong and he didn't judge himself for making fun of them with me as we went on with our stroll. Howcome is it so easy for me to feel guilty?
The admitting:
1. of having twice now written in this comment box and not hit the "submit" button.
2. of writing things before all facts were known. The now known is appended.
Finished the books. a long 3 book series. A Sci-Fi, Cyberpunk, virtual worlds, etc. adventure through many virtual lands in a futuristic and breaking simulation.
Immediately had to go back and reread the last two chapters. What happened?
Read some forums and 2 days later reread the end again.
So many times...
Great books, series, epics, good reads...
Fill middle chapters on the turning colors of a stain on her gown.
Then end with "Lived happily ever after.". Have developed characters missing, unexplained, unresolved. The evilest expert martial artist in prime condition trips on banana peel and dies, end.
(Spoiler alert)
This book introduced a new character(?) only named 'Other'. Is a Huge body. Way way bigger then our TSK body.
When 'Other' dies(?), is messed with(?) or whatever; it falls from just floating there. Perhaps killing some main characters. Don't know, not explained, the End.
P.S. What a overly silly person! to have written the above and then looked up the series to find there is a fourth book in the trilogy.
A good example of the person I live within.
Inspiring sense of calm.
Inspiring too, all the marchers raising their voices and observing long silences in the name of civility.
Simple '3 breaths' exercises today, no focus, just feeling each deeply and letting the fullness settle up each time.
