Eliza, the book I am reading now, "Waking Up" by Charles Tart, does not really get into self-hypnosis as a technique. He discusses hypnosis as a way understanding how we are programmed by our culture to experience reality in particular ways, based on the work of George Gurdjieff.
The book I read about self-hypnosis is "How to Master Self-Hypnosis in a Weekend" by Rick Smith. The author provides some recorded inductions that can be downloaded.
I am a bit skeptical about many of the claims made about hypnosis, but I was curious to try it out. I find that the technique does put me into a very deeply relaxed state, which is certainly interesting and pleasant, but I have not gotten very far with using post-hypnotic suggestion. I am continuing to explore.
End of the day. I am getting myself too spread out. How does one keep doing this to oneself?
It was nice to hear from Amsterdam adventurers. Now the ten year action moves back to Bieup. It certainly does not feel like ten years but then what does ten years feel like? In some ways it is like a dream. I get all caught up in a character and then it is time to leave the theater.
My goal with this 33 days was to do more blogging. Instead it seems like the action is here instead of there. Maybe I can rectify that in the next dozen or so days. Thanks to those who initiated this and to the one managing it all. My gratitude will start there and move on to the being grateful for this day.
Lastly it is the 50th anniversary of the death of Martin Luther King. I am only beginning to understand the stress he experienced the last few years of his life. Sometimes we forget how isolated and criticized our leaders can become. We can be grateful for the courage he found to push his revolutionary agenda in Chicago, Boston, and finally Memphis. He was right and many of us were so very wrong.
Lovely picture of gentle souls! Thank you Eliza. I hope you are in deep sleep or maybe in a beautiful dream as I write this down, wishing you and all others at the retreat a safe journey home.
Funny to see Raffila jumping in on random days :) Yes dear, I'm going to Paris in June, just for two weeks this time, to attend the Marché de la Poésie. Tried to book in the 5th or 6th arrondissement (they are my favorites too!) but it was too late and too expensive: I will be staying near the Palais-Royal, not far from the Pont des Arts over the Seine. A new neighborhood to discover: groundbreaking a new trail!

Another photo to share today, but alas too sleepy to report very much about the wonderful day. It will come.
Flying out in not too many hours. <3
