Wow, Day 12 already. Yesterday was a day of resting for my mind. Today I have hoisted anchor, set the sails and I am headed out of the harbor to the open sea for another round of explorations. I hope I remember I am out there :).
It's amazing how much the little appreciation exercise does: it makes me more grateful, more appreciative, even more social.
It's also amazing how easy it is to let it slip again, to feel that I know it now, that I don't have to actually do the exercise.
Luckily this project is there, just tugging my sleeve every day: did you write your comment yet?
So, simply start again. Look at the walnut, see the walnut, see where it comes from. Bowing to your food only means something if it's grounded in actual appreciation.
Resetting the practice today, since I have drifted, like one does when at the beach and means to stay in a certain spot in the water, but looking back after a time, realizes the blanket is now far far away. There is nothing wrong with the drifting... it is actually quite nice, but it is also nice to find and stay with the anchor again.

Another day with time in short supply, but I managed to get my reading in earlier in the afternoon. Continuing to read Annie Dillard on "The Present". She packs so much of her experience of Being into each sentence, that it is hard for me to slow down enough to take it in.
a thing named T.E.D. started here, Monterey and has gone around the world.
so many years ago one of you said watch this link.
