    Bruce Mowbray: Hey, Eos!
Bruce Mowbray: Didn't want to be late.
    Bruce Mowbray: Hey, 0!
Eos Amaterasu catches up with the present :-)
    Bruce Mowbray: ;-)
Eos Amaterasu: It's like that line from TS Eliot, "hurry up please, it's time"
Bruce Mowbray: Hey, Eliza and 0!
    oO0Oo Resident waves :)
Eliza Madrigal: Hi Bruce, oO0Oo, Eos :)
Eos Amaterasu: hi Eliza, Bruce, O!
    Bruce Mowbray: Hey, Storm!
    Eliza Madrigal: Hi Storm :)
    Storm Nordwind: Hi there :)
    Eos Amaterasu: HI Storm!
    --BELL--
    Bruce Mowbray: Hey, Pema!
Eos Amaterasu: Hi Pema, be at ease!
    Pema Pera: hi everybody!
    Storm Nordwind waves
Eliza Madrigal: Hi Pema, Hi San
Pema Pera: (hmm, slow internet connection again . . . )
    Bruce Mowbray: Hey, San!
Santoshima Resident: hi Bruce! and hello everyone
    Eos Amaterasu: Hi San
Eos Amaterasu: Hi everybody, welcome to the theme session, part II, episode 1 :-)
    Bruce Mowbray: ;)
    oO0Oo Resident: :)
Eos Amaterasu: how do we instrument the awareness laboratory?
Eos Amaterasu: maybe this could be a design and experiment session
Eos Amaterasu: the 90 second pause is a 90 second wide looking glass
Eos Amaterasu: how do we instrument that surface, that looking glass?
Bruce Mowbray: /mw whispers: Hey, Steve.
Eos Amaterasu: and, around earch of those 90 second labs, there is our "intersubjectivity", as Pema put it
    Eliza Madrigal: Hi Stevenaia
Eos Amaterasu: and also, as Eliza said, by letting go of the "my dream" framework, a  shared mandala (for the sake of visual) is opened up in a way that is no less personal/intimate.
    Pema Pera: hi Steve
    stevenaia Michinaga: waves
Eos Amaterasu: a metaphor, or maybe more than a metaphor, is that we create lab instruments out of ways of holding our attention
Eos Amaterasu: the "framings" we use (such as APA, appreciate the presence of appearance) are such instruments
Eos Amaterasu: out of such instruments could we create a vocabulary of how to hold attention?
Eos Amaterasu: So, there's the 90 sconds lab, 4 times a session (hour)
Eos Amaterasu: and there's the in between discussion times, and sharing times
Eos Amaterasu: immediate feedback or reporting from group, after each 90 second session, could also be a form
    Eos Amaterasu: how's that?
    Eos Amaterasu: (done)
    oO0Oo Resident: ty
    oO0Oo Resident: helpful
    stevenaia Michinaga: smiles, well put
Eliza Madrigal smiles, yes very well put
Eos Amaterasu: the "instruments" are not so much about how to view things out there, but about how to hold ourselves and our attending
Eos Amaterasu: about being a subject
    Eos Amaterasu: and about interbeingsubjectivity
stevenaia Michinaga: we are the cabinets which store the instruments of the experiment
Storm Nordwind: How will we recognize that we have found such an instrument? And how can we assess how effective it is?
    Eos Amaterasu: let's try one
    Eos Amaterasu: in 3 minutes
Eos Amaterasu: Eliza, would you like to suggest an instrumental approach?
oO0Oo Resident: so, building on qualities.. like.. hmm.. for example.. open, upright, willing, relaxed, Are these kinds of words part of finding a common language?
Eos Amaterasu: yes, finding the way they work for you, and can be shared
    --BELL--
Eliza Madrigal: hm... seems one must have steadier hands...to hold the instrument, than mine tonight....
    Eliza Madrigal: apologies :)
    Eos Amaterasu: :-)
Eos Amaterasu: okay, so we didn't really have a framing, but any reports?
Eos Amaterasu: (in SL retreats I think we've done these in circle fashion....)
stevenaia Michinaga: sorry cat moment, was away
stevenaia Michinaga: (my cat, not black cat)
Eos Amaterasu: cat ate my attention
    stevenaia Michinaga: always..
Eliza Madrigal: mine was a dropping moment, scramble for frame but ah, okay that's how it is and reststop
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Eos Amaterasu: hmm, partly I just had some senses of panic
Eos Amaterasu: attention let go in a rush
Pema Pera: in between having SL dropping me, I experimented with attention holding me, rather than me holding attention -- that worked well, and made the annoying drop-outs actually quite peaceful
    Pema Pera: no trying involved
Eos Amaterasu: so working with attention holding me... "can you say more?"
    Pema Pera: hmmm, inviting attention
Pema Pera: rather than trying to "do" it, no forcing
Pema Pera: a kind of subject/object reversal
Eos Amaterasu: so the noticing of "trying to do it" could be an instrument
Eos Amaterasu: notice and let go
    Pema Pera: yes
Pema Pera: noticing but with little or no judgment
Pema Pera: no "now have to do this" and "do I do it right?"
Pema Pera: blame it on attention
Pema Pera: attention ate my homework
Pema Pera: can you say more about panic?
Pema Pera: (and what Eliza said was similar too, that recognition)
Eos Amaterasu: probably has to do with energy, and some fear at letting go some kind of identification with it
    Pema Pera nods
Pema Pera: nice to recognize that!
    Pema Pera: very fleeting often
Eos Amaterasu: but the flip side of that is the rest energy
Eos Amaterasu: resting can have lots of jazz in it
    Pema Pera: yes?
    Pema Pera: ah!
    Pema Pera: yes :)
Pema Pera: and sometimes blues . . .
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
    Eos Amaterasu: heh heh
Pema Pera: Eliza, you wrote: "okay that's how it is and reststop" -- that feels similar to letting attention attent
    oO0Oo Resident: I :)
oO0Oo Resident: I spontaneously oriented briefly with the words I offered before, and then let go. Noticed attention engaging, and disengaging, variously, almost like a burred weed seed in an item of clothing, but very lightly, snagging and releasing.. and the releases, felt like micro relaxes, and some background of forgiveness, not trying.. which felt generous, and easier.. less snaggy.
Pema Pera: nice image, burred weed seed -- gripping!
Storm Nordwind: I had no idea what was required, but this is what happened for me... After a quick "dropping" at the start of the 90 seconds, I first felt just aware. Then I was aware of the mind as a tool to read new stories and I switched attention to that. Then the mind looked back at the awareness briefly before looking for something else to read. At which point I switched attention away from the mind tool and just rested in itself for the remaining seconds. No deliberate framing; just spontaneous.
    Eos Amaterasu: :-)
    Pema Pera: thanks, Storm!
oO0Oo Resident: will make you a notecard Druth
    druth Vlodovic: ty
Eliza Madrigal: so interesting, thank you both
    Eliza Madrigal: Hi Druth :)
Pema Pera: hi Druth and Bert!
Eos Amaterasu: Could I suggest for the upcoming 90 secs:
Eos Amaterasu: 19:20] Pema Pera: hmmm, inviting attention [19:20] Pema Pera: rather than trying to "do" it, no forcing
    Eliza Madrigal: Hi Bertrum
    Pema Pera: hi Paradise!
    Bertrum Resident: hi everyone
    Eos Amaterasu: ~~
    Eliza Madrigal: Hi Paradise
Eliza Madrigal: no forcing... no trying, okay
    stevenaia Michinaga: waves to Para
Paradise Tennant: smiles and waves and listens :)
    --BELL--
    Eos Amaterasu: :-)
Eos Amaterasu: Shall we go around? You can pass if you like.
    Eos Amaterasu: Clockwise? Eliza?
Eliza Madrigal: ...dark room, candlelight felt easy to rest eyes... not trying had that sense... not going out with eyes
    Eos Amaterasu: thnx
    Eos Amaterasu: Bertrum?
Bertrum Resident: I'll pass for now.
    Eos Amaterasu: San?
    Santoshima Resident: *
    Eos Amaterasu: ¿
    Eos Amaterasu: Storm?
Storm Nordwind: Inviting attention... I felt I should zoom into the fountain. i became acutely aware of its sound, and the sounds all around me in RL - a fan, the traffic on the Interstates, a neighbor, a sqeaky chair
    Eos Amaterasu: Pema?
    Pema Pera: a deep sense of careless caring . . . .
Pema Pera: letting caring happen too
Pema Pera: like the wind or sunshine
    Pema Pera: (done)
    druth Vlodovic: pass
    Eos Amaterasu: O?
oO0Oo Resident: yes.. moment please.. composing
    Eos Amaterasu rests
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
oO0Oo Resident: When the bell rang, I was saving and sending motecards.. had scrolled up, and let go of thread of conversation.. it was OK.. the pink ribbon and sound brought a kind of crispness to continuing, that let awareness expand broadly while also just completing what is at hand.. not feeling pressured.. allowed to be OK A little like riding a horse.. well seated, but seeing the scenery in the distance too.
    Pema Pera: :)
    Eos Amaterasu: :-)
    Eos Amaterasu: steveania?
stevenaia Michinaga: The cat now in my arms at the computer was happilly directing my attention for me I am trying to shift from using an instrument as part on my conciouse awaremenss to being the instrument, seems cats don;t have that problem, then he cuddles and sleeps
    Eos Amaterasu laughs
    Pema Pera: =^+^=
stevenaia Michinaga: cat was active when I was trying to watch awareness.. and now sleeps
    Eos Amaterasu: prrrrrrr
    Pema Pera: =^ェ^=
    Eos Amaterasu: Para?
    stevenaia Michinaga: done
    oO0Oo Resident: :)
Paradise Tennant: hmmm going to pass I am afraid I did not focus was just landing I believe :))
    Eos Amaterasu: :-)
oO0Oo Resident: fair enough :) nice you landed here
Eos Amaterasu: things seemed to get closer and more present, almost reaching out
Eos Amaterasu: I felt more embedded
Pema Pera: landing in Paradise is one thing, having Paradise landing amongst us is quite another!
    Eos Amaterasu: :-)
    Bertrum Resident: :)
Pema Pera: everything is reversed today . . . .
    Paradise Tennant: smiles
Eos Amaterasu: shall we try it again?
    Eliza Madrigal: sure :)
    --BELL--
    Eos Amaterasu: Eliza?
Eos Amaterasu: (mabye say done when done, and pass to next)
Eliza Madrigal: being an instrument through which attention passes... light and shadows, flickering flame... settled, normal, shedding cares of the day - pass to Bertrum
    Bertrum Resident: Pass:)
    Santoshima Resident: peaceful quiet
    Santoshima Resident: pass to storm
Storm Nordwind: The NDR decided to request my attention, first jumping the rails near the museum and then getting stuck near there. I observed it for while, saw it on its way, and returned to a state of rest.
    Storm Nordwind: done
Pema Pera: I felt like a passenger, letting the Universe drive the bus :)
    Pema Pera: pass to Druth
druth Vlodovic: ah, sorry, I started but then thought arose, "what is the difference between noticing things with awareness and noticing awareness", I didn't manage to resolve a method before second bell
    druth Vlodovic: done
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
    Eos Amaterasu: hmm
Pema Pera: perhaps a good experiment for next session, tomorrow!
oO0Oo Resident: embodiment released being.. allowed to adjust.. flow.. cracking shoulder blades had me.. spinal freedom.. alignments.. gravity, levity.. eager preframing.. smiled at.. braething deeply.. letting go.. more with the whole.. again.. noticing less recrimination/judgement.. thankfulness [pass to Stev]
stevenaia Michinaga: having a meditation partner can be very helpful..lick lick lick...purrrrrrr .....felt the cat licking the cat my mind wonders to the joy of the bonding
    stevenaia Michinaga: done
Paradise Tennant: quiet room .. sound of the mantle clock ticking .. tried to extend my awareness to what the group was feeling .. :)
    Paradise Tennant: done
Eos Amaterasu: (have already mostly forgotten :-) sense of gratitude, or not needing to leave - it's all gently all around
    Eos Amaterasu: (done)
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
    Pema Pera: :-)
    oO0Oo Resident: :)
    Eos Amaterasu: state of cat

Eliza Madrigal: I appreciate this sort of session.... often carries over for days, thank you Eos
    Pema Pera: yes, me too
    oO0Oo Resident: that's me three
Paradise Tennant: something about being in a focus group that intensifies the moment :)
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
    Paradise Tennant: *focused
Eos Amaterasu: mabye that's part of the awareness telescope
Santoshima Resident: not just a focus, means of speaking
Santoshima Resident: some listening actaully possible
Santoshima Resident: (alas, spelling errors continue)
    Pema Pera: :)
oO0Oo Resident: felt sense of the group too.. nice to try and be with that
Storm Nordwind felt the commitment of those attending without attachment to results.
