    stevenaia Michinaga: Greetings Raffi
    Raffila Millgrove: hi steve
stevenaia Michinaga: I ahve not seen you lately, have you been elsewhere?
Raffila Millgrove: no ... i been around as usual... to SL. but not too much at PaB.
stevenaia Michinaga: have been missing your good company
    Raffila Millgrove: oh ty.
    stevenaia Michinaga: :)
Raffila Millgrove: I came to last Friday's voice meet.
stevenaia Michinaga: nods, what's gained in voice is lost for the record, I ahve never been to a voice session here
    stevenaia Michinaga: how was it?
Raffila Millgrove: i like to hear the various voices.. behind the avis.
Raffila Millgrove: Yaku and I were talking about meat in Germany. His dad is a butcher.
Raffila Millgrove: in fact most of the people who came.. were all from Germany. or living there now.
Raffila Millgrove: and i once lived there long ago for 3 years.
stevenaia Michinaga: nice change from us east and west coasters
    Raffila Millgrove: hello Ewan
Raffila Millgrove: mostly we were talking personal life things.
    stevenaia Michinaga: hi Ewan
Raffila Millgrove: perhaps.. more detial than one would want int a printed log.
stevenaia Michinaga: that can be nice too
Raffila Millgrove: speaking of job specifics, personal family relationships, future plans.
    Ewan Bonham: hi folks..
Raffila Millgrove: i like being in voice. it took me years here.. to manage it. abuot five in fact before i could be comfortable in it.
stevenaia Michinaga: waves, it's nice to see you again Ewan
    Raffila Millgrove: what's new Ewan?
Ewan Bonham: Oh, just like to come here for some quiet and contemplative dialogue...:)
stevenaia Michinaga: yes, I would have to change my avatar to be comfortable in voice
Raffila Millgrove: ah. we were just speaking about the Friday voice session that Yaku leads in the pub here on Fridays at noon.
Ewan Bonham: nod... unable to be there because of time constraints...
Raffila Millgrove: it's a bit more personal and intimate.. because it's not recorded.
Ewan Bonham: i would appreciate that..
Raffila Millgrove: Yaku handles it well. very welcoming and flexible. i enjoy it.
stevenaia Michinaga: I see the "Original Face " group is having an open house in a few weeks, I ahve never been there but those who go enjoy it
Raffila Millgrove: yes.. San really likes it. Bruce too. they say they have opening for two new members.

    --BELL--

Ewan Bonham: Is it not this Monday?
Raffila Millgrove: not sure on the date Ewan. is in the yahoo group .. emails.
stevenaia Michinaga: hmmm I cannot find the email
Raffila Millgrove: me neither. i deleted because i know i cannot devote time... that is required. regularly to attend. they request a regular steady attendance. not a "drop in" situaiton.
stevenaia Michinaga: yes, next monday, I will be away
Raffila Millgrove: but several say they really like how Calvino leads them.. in the group. and the talking stick.
stevenaia Michinaga: I awwume it is in text even though it does not get posted
    stevenaia Michinaga: *assume
Ewan Bonham: It is next Monday... just looked...:)
Raffila Millgrove: yes i think is text. i don't really know?
stevenaia Michinaga: nice to have a variety of different threads that occur here based on individual interest
Raffila Millgrove: i like.. where text is optional.. where you listen in voice, but you are free to reply by typing if you prefer. the events i led are like that. voice enbaled.. but for listening only.
Raffila Millgrove: you can reply in voice or text as you prefer. the facilitator reads the text responses aloud.
Ewan Bonham: I prefer it be an option for everyone...:)
stevenaia Michinaga: like Pila's iChing workshop which has gone far beyond iChing after 2 years
Raffila Millgrove: if you cannot listen tho.. if you chose no listening.. then everyone must type only.
Raffila Millgrove: it works well for here tho.. when you want the transcript for the wiki.
Raffila Millgrove: how is that IChing workshop.. you go to it steve?
Raffila Millgrove: i really like pila.
    stevenaia Michinaga: yes, it's monthly
stevenaia Michinaga: we are taking turn doing presentation on related eastern topics, Chakras, Qi, Meridians and other subjects
Raffila Millgrove: ah. what is your presentation Steve... ?
stevenaia Michinaga: like theme sessions of sorts, I did one on Qi with Paradise sharing the hour with meridians
Raffila Millgrove: ohhh. how did that go?
stevenaia Michinaga: the research was fun as I had a number of books on chinese medicine waiting to be looked at.... each of them was 40% about chi
Raffila Millgrove: can you tell.. what is chi. i only know it as a kind of life force? is there more?

    --BELL--

stevenaia Michinaga: nods, it's something you work with during tai chi, with parallels in the indian subcontinent, but the energy travels along the meridians in your body (accupuncture points are located along these)
stevenaia Michinaga: tai chi helps to open up these meridians and be healthy
    stevenaia Michinaga: (the short answer)
    Raffila Millgrove: yes.
Raffila Millgrove: i am watching a Korean drama (i love them) they are bit like soap opera. serials.. but with a begin middle end. A Korean modern day dr.. has been tranported back 1000 years in time. fascinating. she's learing about the herbs, acupucture and the chi.
stevenaia Michinaga: so it's and energy force within and without (you gather Qi, and you let bad Qi go)
stevenaia Michinaga: I am amazed how "science" can't figure out how something that has been practiced for thousands of years elsewhere works
Raffila Millgrove: well they.. have done studies. they claim there's no medical basis in it "working".. yet an awful lot of people seem to feel better after treatments.
Raffila Millgrove: and insurance in the US sometimes does cover acupuncture .. so there must be Some basis to approve that.
stevenaia Michinaga: like it works and "regular" medicine does not...grins
    stevenaia Michinaga: Hi Paradise
Paradise Tennant: hiya stev raf ewan :) nice to see everyone :)
stevenaia Michinaga: I think Para has had accupunture, haven;t you? we were talking about Chi and the IChing workhop sessions we did

    Ewan Bonham: Hi Para... :)
    stevenaia Michinaga: brb, laundry... listens
    Paradise Tennant: *accupuncture :))
Paradise Tennant: it works on all kinds of levels
Paradise Tennant: helps you sleep balances you .. releives stress relaxes .. can help with pain managment weight loss the list goes on and on
Paradise Tennant: relieves :)) sorry cannot type tonight
Paradise Tennant: the iching sessions are well worth going to ..
Raffila Millgrove: ah thank you Paradise.

stevenaia Michinaga: yes, when I eat bread (Pizza, etc) I always need a napafter
stevenaia Michinaga: slowly attempting to eat less sugar and bread
stevenaia Michinaga: it may take a while
stevenaia Michinaga: but you have to begin with a thought
Ewan Bonham: Once you do, you feel much better...;)
stevenaia Michinaga: that's what everyone says, so I listen and eat one less loaf of bread, pizza is dificult w/o bread
    Paradise Tennant: smiles
