The Guardian for this meeting was Zen Arado. The comments are by Zen Arado.

We had just arrived at pavilion and were logged out, so came back to Kira Cafe:

    Xirana (xirana.oximoxi): hello again Zen!
    Zen (zen.arado): Hi Xirana ;)
Xirana (xirana.oximoxi): I have not seen the notice of the restart, have you?
Zen (zen.arado): region must have been ready for closure
Xirana (xirana.oximoxi): yes..it all has become grey:)
Zen (zen.arado): no it must have come just before we arrived
    Xirana (xirana.oximoxi): yes sure:)
    Xirana (xirana.oximoxi): how are you?
    Zen (zen.arado): not bad ty
Zen (zen.arado): a bit tired as usual
    Zen (zen.arado): :)
    Xirana (xirana.oximoxi): :)
    Zen (zen.arado): and you?
Xirana (xirana.oximoxi): I am fine thank you... but feeling the hot weather of this summer really 'terrible'... I am missing the winter:)
Zen (zen.arado): hmmm it's too cold here
    Zen (zen.arado): cold wind
    Zen (zen.arado): am I lucky?
Zen (zen.arado): I can't even sit in the sun...too cold
Xirana (xirana.oximoxi): oh! so different:) yes you are lucky.!!! but a firend of mine always say that we must learn to enjoy and try to find something good in what we have...
Xirana (xirana.oximoxi): so, I am trying to enjoy the sweating hot:)
Zen (zen.arado): yes...we are never happy
Zen (zen.arado): always too hot or too cold
    Xirana (xirana.oximoxi): yes:))
Zen (zen.arado): there is a zen koan about that
Zen (zen.arado): zen master says: whe you are hot be hot.. whewn you are cold be cold
Xirana (xirana.oximoxi): do you remember it?
    Zen (zen.arado): simple
Zen (zen.arado): that was it :)
    Xirana (xirana.oximoxi): ahh yes...really simple...and clear :)
    Zen (zen.arado): hot is tiring

    Art of being as lab:

Zen (zen.arado): I am making an art of being thing
Xirana (xirana.oximoxi): yes... I can not do a lot of things...
    Zen (zen.arado): you kow Mellowdee?
Xirana (xirana.oximoxi): no, is an artist?
Zen (zen.arado): she is teaching me how to make things move with scripts
Zen (zen.arado): yes she makes mandalas
    Xirana (xirana.oximoxi): wonderful!
Zen (zen.arado): there is a competition for them
Xirana (xirana.oximoxi): the new art of being project must be done with groups, isn't it?
Zen (zen.arado): she has one there
Zen (zen.arado): yes...I asked her to help me
Xirana (xirana.oximoxi): I have visited the exhibit of mandals at Space4art
Zen (zen.arado): yes that is the one
    Xirana (xirana.oximoxi): hello San:)
    San (santoshima): hello :)
    Zen (zen.arado): Hi San :)
Xirana (xirana.oximoxi): some mandalas are really origianl:)
    Xirana (xirana.oximoxi): creative
    Zen (zen.arado): yes
Zen (zen.arado): we can do so many art things here in SL that aren't possible in RL
Xirana (xirana.oximoxi): is it difficult to learn about scripts?
    Xirana (xirana.oximoxi): ahh yes... that's true:9
Zen (zen.arado): to make them yes
    Xirana (xirana.oximoxi): yes, that's what I thought
Zen (zen.arado): but you can use ones that others wrote
Zen (zen.arado): and learn to modify them
Xirana (xirana.oximoxi): and the scripts made for SL use a language that is only useful for SL... that's why I am not really interestd to learn it
Zen (zen.arado): we only need simple scripts
Xirana (xirana.oximoxi): at least that's what I think I have read
Zen (zen.arado): I was making something earlier with rotation scrips
Xirana (xirana.oximoxi): San, Zen is learning scripting for his new art of being project :)
Zen (zen.arado): I wanted something to rotate on a base but when I link them the base moves as well :)
    San (santoshima): that's great
    San (santoshima): teaching yourself?
Zen (zen.arado): no just using premade ones
    San (santoshima): i see
San (santoshima): don't link to the base
Xirana (xirana.oximoxi): ah yes... but I think it depends on the order you link them:)
Zen (zen.arado): you can use a website to make them for you
    San (santoshima): really?
    San (santoshima): what's the site?
San (santoshima): i need to find a group to work with for the art project
    Zen (zen.arado): http://www.3greeneggs.com/autoscript/
    San (santoshima): thanks!
    Zen (zen.arado): brb

San (santoshima): this looks very useful
Xirana (xirana.oximoxi): yes:) and seems easy:)
    San (santoshima): rather
San (santoshima): i better go, sister is visiting from montana, and is leaving shortly ~ see you later
Xirana (xirana.oximoxi): bye bye San, see you soon and have a nice time with your sister:)
    San (santoshima): ty
    Xirana (xirana.oximoxi): yw:)
    Zen (zen.arado): sorry
Zen (zen.arado): a fireman came to the door
Xirana (xirana.oximoxi): oh! and is something happening?
Xirana (xirana.oximoxi): no problem Zen!!! :-)
Xirana (xirana.oximoxi): fireman in RL is more important:)
Zen (zen.arado): he wants to give everyone a talk about safety
Xirana (xirana.oximoxi): ok... then if you prefer you talk with him
Xirana (xirana.oximoxi): it's important to know about it
Zen (zen.arado): they had a fire in sailing club near here a month ago
    Zen (zen.arado): no not now
    Zen (zen.arado): just making appointment
    Xirana (xirana.oximoxi): ok:)
Zen (zen.arado): San left again ?
Xirana (xirana.oximoxi): yes:) she has her sister there:)

    Busyness:

Zen (zen.arado): I am so busy lately
    Xirana (xirana.oximoxi): :)
Zen (zen.arado): do you find that
    Zen (zen.arado): ?
Xirana (xirana.oximoxi): busy man:) that's very good if you enjoy it:)
Xirana (xirana.oximoxi): you mean beeing budsy?
    Xirana (xirana.oximoxi): busy*
    Zen (zen.arado): yes
Zen (zen.arado): like always too many things to do?
Zen (zen.arado): people asking me to do things
Xirana (xirana.oximoxi): well... I have my parents and also my aunt here...all big lovely mathulalens:)) so... I have less time for me...but it's ok:)
Xirana (xirana.oximoxi): mathusalen* =the oldest man
    Xirana (xirana.oximoxi): :)
    Zen (zen.arado): ha
    Zen (zen.arado): Matusela
    Zen (zen.arado): from the bibles
Xirana (xirana.oximoxi): the correct word is Matusela?
Xirana (xirana.oximoxi): yes, from the Bible
    Zen (zen.arado): don't know
    Zen (zen.arado): was guessing
    Zen (zen.arado): Mathusela maybe
Xirana (xirana.oximoxi): in Spanish we say Matusalen:)
Zen (zen.arado): a man who lived a long time
Zen (zen.arado): but you have lots of energy
Xirana (xirana.oximoxi): yes:) I don't remember the history now...but it's said whje someone is very old:)
Xirana (xirana.oximoxi): yes! I still have a lot of energy :)
    Zen (zen.arado): and I don't :(
Zen (zen.arado): so I want to do things and I can't
Zen (zen.arado): want to read so many books
Zen (zen.arado): learn about building in SL
Xirana (xirana.oximoxi): you do too Zen..you're full of energy ..you participate in art projects, learning french, atc. atc. :)
Zen (zen.arado): yes but it's getting too much
Xirana (xirana.oximoxi): ah yes... that must be difficult to wear... but I think you know how to take prifite of all that you can
Zen (zen.arado): I missed my retreat last week
    Xirana (xirana.oximoxi): profit
Zen (zen.arado): I would have been sitting quietly for 6 days
Xirana (xirana.oximoxi): you missed it because of other activities?
Zen (zen.arado): but I can't seem to do that at home
Zen (zen.arado): no it is too much for me physically
    Zen (zen.arado): now

    The Rules:

Zen (zen.arado): what did you think of San's rules?
Xirana (xirana.oximoxi): ok...then you must try to do things but not too much...
    Zen (zen.arado): yes...seems obvious
    Zen (zen.arado): why can't I do it?
Xirana (xirana.oximoxi): I read them quick...my first impression is that to some I don't agree..or maybe they must be matisized
    Zen (zen.arado): matisized?
Xirana (xirana.oximoxi): hehe... I will look for this word:) moment:)
    Xirana (xirana.oximoxi): to clarify
Bleu (bleu.oleander): hi Zen, Xirana :)
    Zen (zen.arado): ah ok :)
Xirana (xirana.oximoxi): I find this translation...but it is not exactly
    Zen (zen.arado): Hi Bleu :)
    Xirana (xirana.oximoxi): hi Bleu!
Xirana (xirana.oximoxi): do you have the link at hand Zen? about the rules?
Xirana (xirana.oximoxi): wow Bleu...you look amazing:))
Zen (zen.arado): RULE ONE: Find a place you trust, and then try trusting it for awhile.
RULE TWO: General duties of a student — pull everything out of your teacher; pull everything out of your fellow students.
RULE THREE: General duties of a teacher — pull everything out of your students.
RULE FOUR: Consider everything an experiment.
RULE FIVE: Be self-disciplined — this means finding someone wise or smart and choosing to follow them. To be disciplined is to follow in a good way. To be self-disciplined is to follow in a better way.
RULE SIX: Nothing is a mistake. There’s no win and no fail, there’s only make.
RULE SEVEN: The only rule is work. If you work it will lead to something. It’s the people who do all of the work all of the time who eventually catch on to things.
RULE EIGHT: Don’t try to create and analyze at the same time. They’re different processes.
RULE NINE: Be happy whenever you can manage it. Enjoy yourself. It’s lighter than you think.
RULE TEN: “We’re breaking all the rules. Even our own
Zen (zen.arado):  rules. And how do we do that? By leaving plenty of room for X quantities.” (John Cage)
HINTS: Always be around. Come or go to everything. Always go to classes. Read anything you can get your hands on. Look at movies carefully, often. Save everything — it might come in handy later.
    Bleu (bleu.oleander): ty Xirana :)
    Xirana (xirana.oximoxi): yw:)
Zen (zen.arado): easier on a notecard
    Bleu (bleu.oleander): yes
Zen (zen.arado): best rule is to break the rules :)
    Bleu (bleu.oleander): haha yes!
Xirana (xirana.oximoxi): yes, but I have some difficulties to understand some of them...for exemple what's the sense of the first one?..if you find a place you TRUST...what sense is to say 'trust it for a while'?
Zen (zen.arado): hmm not sure of that one either
    Zen (zen.arado): and what place?
Bleu (bleu.oleander): stay long enough to get the benefit but don't stay so long that it prevents you from moving on ... maybe?
    Zen (zen.arado): hmm maybe
Xirana (xirana.oximoxi): Zen... Riddle is at the pavillion would you like to go there?
    Zen (zen.arado): kk
    Bleu (bleu.oleander): :)
    Xirana (xirana.oximoxi): we go?
    Xirana (xirana.oximoxi): hi Ewan:)
Xirana (xirana.oximoxi): we were going to the pavilion
Xirana (xirana.oximoxi): but Zen is stuck now:)
    Ewan (ewan.bonham): oh ok..
    Ewan (ewan.bonham): oh, my
Xirana (xirana.oximoxi): well... maybe he is busy :)
    Xirana (xirana.oximoxi): Zen... ??
Zen (zen.arado): sorry got phone call
    Zen (zen.arado): going to pavilion?
Xirana (xirana.oximoxi): ahh ok:) let's go to the pavilion?
    Xirana (xirana.oximoxi): yes

    Back to the pavilion:

Riddle Sideways: Rolling Reboot musta happened
    Riddle Sideways: Hi Ewan
Riddle Sideways: Must have been a rolling reboot go through. couple of ppl over at the Cafe
Riddle Sideways: did you have any problems logging in today?
Ewan Bonham: There seems to be few people on sl at the moment..
Ewan Bonham: No, I did not..
Ewan Bonham: Were there people here before?

Riddle Sideways: when region is not available, av gets sent to a very populated waiting area
Ewan Bonham: Were there more folks here before?
Riddle Sideways: Xir and Zen at least were here and ran to the Cafe
Ewan Bonham: Why did they run thwere?
Riddle Sideways: there usually is a region reboot at this time each week
    Ewan Bonham: Oh, I see
Riddle Sideways: the sim stops existance
    Riddle Sideways: then gensis again
    Riddle Sideways: Hi Bleu
Riddle Sideways: so, what are you up to, lately?
    Ewan Bonham: H Bleu..
    Riddle Sideways: Hi Bleu
    Bleu Oleander: hi Ewan, Riddle
Riddle Sideways: zen and Xir took the discussion to the Cafe

Bleu Oleander: I think they're coming back
    Riddle Sideways: bye Ewan
    Riddle Sideways: who poofed
    Riddle Sideways: ah
    Bleu Oleander: hi Xiri
    Xirana Oximoxi: hello Rid:)
    Riddle Sideways: Hi Xir
    Xirana Oximoxi: Hi Bleu again:)
    Bleu Oleander: hi again Zen
Riddle Sideways: have we missed the chat?
    Zen Arado: Hi all
Riddle Sideways: do you have all the rules sorted out
    Zen Arado: heh
Zen Arado: just started on 1
    Riddle Sideways: wb Ewan
Zen Arado: not sure what it means
    Zen Arado: Hi ewan
    Ewan Bonham: hio fols..
Xirana Oximoxi: well..we have been talikng about different subjects... weather, scripting, art projects, energy to do things... and now we started about the rules San has proposed
Zen Arado: so everything is an experiment?
Zen Arado: good rule for SL
    Riddle Sideways: Sans Rules
    Riddle Sideways: like it
    Bleu Oleander: :)
    Zen Arado: withour rules ?
    Zen Arado: without
    Riddle Sideways: already done that
Bleu Oleander: rule number 1 ... there are no rules hehe
    Xirana Oximoxi: :))
Riddle Sideways: rule 2: disregard rule 1
    Bleu Oleander: haha
Zen Arado: I don't trust anywhere
    Bleu Oleander: really?
Zen Arado: trust involves setting expectations
Zen Arado: raher just see what happens
Zen Arado: trust is a kind of freezing isn't it?
Xirana Oximoxi: I also see some kind of contradiction in rule 5
Zen Arado: wanting something or someone to behave a certain way
Zen Arado: yes following or doing it yourself
Xirana Oximoxi: and I agree completely with rule 7: RULE SEVEN: The only rule is work. If you work it will lead to something. It’s the people who do all of the work all of the time who eventually catch on to things.
Bleu Oleander: trust can allow you to relax
Zen Arado: well ok but you could work at the wrong thing?
    Zen Arado: hmm yes Bleu
Xirana Oximoxi: it's the same for painting...you find good results if you paint...if you stay waitng for the inspiration to come ..nothing happens
Zen Arado: not always on edge
    Bleu Oleander: yes Xiri
    Xirana Oximoxi: :)
Bleu Oleander: have to move the paint around!
    Zen Arado: trust your intuition?
Zen Arado: they need a little more explanation
Bleu Oleander: sometimes your intuition is off
Zen Arado: can you be too self disciplined?
Bleu Oleander: have to correct it
Xirana Oximoxi: Read anything you can get your hands on. ?? there are a lot of book that we can live without reading
Zen Arado: yeh not always right
Bleu Oleander: how to choose what to read
    Bleu Oleander: good question
Zen Arado: one of my problems too many books I want to read
Bleu Oleander: limited amount of reading time
Xirana Oximoxi: yes, good question Bleu:)
Riddle Sideways: reading and disgreeing with it could be constructive
    Bleu Oleander: yes, true
    Xirana Oximoxi: yes
Zen Arado: oh yes Riddle...reading critically
Bleu Oleander: shouldn't only read what you agree with
Zen Arado: when I did philosophy we were taught to read first sympathetically to get the full meaning and then read critically
Xirana Oximoxi: interesting way of reading and learning
Bleu Oleander: my problem is remember all that I read!
Zen Arado: if you start critically you will miss a lot of what the author tries to convey
Bleu Oleander: have to re-read some
Xirana Oximoxi: I have to reread a lot Bleu...
Zen Arado: many books worth reading a few times
Zen Arado: but I want to move to something new all the time
Bleu Oleander: when we read we bring ourselves to the reading ... hard not to read critically

Zen Arado: I can be too sympathetic
Bleu Oleander: bye for now ... take care :)
    Zen Arado: tc Bleu
Xirana Oximoxi: bye bye Bleu..have a nice day
    Ewan Bonham: Bye... folks..
    Zen Arado: byee Ewan
Xirana Oximoxi: bye Ewan:) tc too:)
    Xirana Oximoxi: and Rid:)
    Zen Arado: and Riddle :)
Xirana Oximoxi: are these rules very famous?
Zen Arado: we can work too hard too maybe Xiri
    Zen Arado: don't think so
Zen Arado: somebody made them up
Xirana Oximoxi: what do you mean, 'work hard'? Zen?
Zen Arado: try to do too much
Xirana Oximoxi: ahh yes... that's not goo either
Zen Arado: a life that is all work
Xirana Oximoxi: better try to do less and enjoy more...no hurry:)
Zen Arado: I find it hard to sit and watch a film
Zen Arado: I think I should be doing something more constructive
Xirana Oximoxi: because you have a 'creative' personality...you prefer doing:)
Zen Arado: but then I get so tired
Xirana Oximoxi: but it's also important to be lazy
Zen Arado: we can be bad judges of ourselves
Xirana Oximoxi: to be lazy is useful to restar our activities with more energy
Zen Arado: pity we can't do a meditation retreat in SL
Xirana Oximoxi: yes.... we can be the most strict judges about ourselves...until a level is good, but not excessive
Xirana Oximoxi: you did once ..I remember...was it not a good experience?
Xirana Oximoxi: I mean... not similar to sharing it in RL?
Zen Arado: yes but we talked all the time
Zen Arado: I mean a silent one
    Xirana Oximoxi: ahhh lol
Riddle Sideways: bye all, ... rule 12 = have your best day
Xirana Oximoxi: I thought you did a meditation retreat in SL :)
    Zen Arado: kk byee Riddle
Xirana Oximoxi: bye bye Rid! you too have a nice day:)
Zen Arado: there was some meditation but not much
Xirana Oximoxi: yes... it's not easy here:)
Zen Arado: many of them not used to meditation
Xirana Oximoxi: I am not used to it..I've never done
Zen Arado: only 10 minutes or so
Zen Arado: maybe you don't need to
Xirana Oximoxi: but after I finish my studies I've thought I will try to learn... I see it can bring a lot od benefits
Zen Arado: usually if people say that they never do it
    Xirana Oximoxi: hehe:))
Zen Arado: we never have time
    Xirana Oximoxi: yes, you're right:)
Zen Arado: actually it is just sitting quietlt and not doing anything
Zen Arado: but people add so many things to it
    Zen Arado: quietly
Zen Arado: but so hard to find time to do that
    Zen Arado: so many distractions
Xirana Oximoxi: it's also imporatnt to learn how to stay comfortable
    Zen Arado: yes
Xirana Oximoxi: sitting in a good position?
Zen Arado: don't think it matters so much
Zen Arado: just comfortable as you said
Xirana Oximoxi: I never find the 10 minutes everyday to make some Gimm... :)
    Xirana Oximoxi: gymnastique
    Xirana Oximoxi: :)
Zen Arado: you are active in your life though
Xirana Oximoxi: but thanks to my dogs I go walking 2 or 3 times everyday:)
    Zen Arado: exactly
    Xirana Oximoxi: yes:)
Zen Arado: that is a kind of meditation
Xirana Oximoxi: well... it can be seen like a kind of meditation...but I have no purpose in doing it
Xirana Oximoxi: amy mind jumps from thought to though
    Xirana Oximoxi: thought
Zen Arado: that is meditatio...not having a purpose
Zen Arado: not trying to get anywhere
Zen Arado: just allowing yourself to be as you are
Zen Arado: and enjoying your dogs

    Xirana Oximoxi: yes...in that sense it's what I do:9
Xirana Oximoxi: it has becvome a kind of rule in my life...if one day it rains I try to go anyway..if not something is missng to feel well...
    Zen Arado: yes
Xirana Oximoxi: I must go now Zen! thanks a lot for this nice time chatting:)
Zen Arado: I used to walk my dog from an electric wheelchair
Zen Arado: kk thanks for coming Xirana !
Xirana Oximoxi: oh you explain to me next time:)
    Xirana Oximoxi: you're welcome:)
    Zen Arado: sure :)
    Xirana Oximoxi: bye bye:)
    Zen Arado: byee
