Catrinamonblue Resident: 's current display-name is "Catrinamonblue".
--BELL--
Eliza Madrigal: 's current display-name is "Eliza".
Eos Amaterasu: Hi Cat, Korel, Eliza
Catrinamonblue Resident: Evening :)
Eliza Madrigal: Hi Everyone :)
Korel Laloix: Heya
Eos Amaterasu: Hey aloha
Eos Amaterasu: How's everyone?
Catrinamonblue Resident: well :)
Eliza Madrigal: a complex mixture
Eliza Madrigal: you?
Eos Amaterasu: less complicated, but still mixed :-)
Eliza Madrigal: :)
Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
Eliza Madrigal: nice to be here, though
Catrinamonblue Resident: always nice to be here :)
Eos Amaterasu: I guess one quest is to find authenticity in that mixture, vs try to finesse it with positioning and "hypocrisy"
Eliza Madrigal: while not going for the easy "happy about this/sad about that/confused about such n such" ?
Korel Laloix: Why can't you be authentic and well positioned?
Eos Amaterasu: hmm, good questions
Korel Laloix: And there are people that are very hypocritical as their authentic nature.
Eos Amaterasu: :-)
Eos Amaterasu: like, "deep down she's superficial" :-)
Eliza Madrigal: :)
Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
Eos Amaterasu: do you really thinks so, Korel (re "there are people...")
Korel Laloix: Just look at Washington DC.
Eos Amaterasu: you become a "personality"
Eos Amaterasu: not quite the same as an "authentic" person?
Eos Amaterasu: I was at a talk the other day, by a buddhist teacher, and realized at one point that it had various performance aspects and gestures to it
--BELL--
Eos Amaterasu: ie, if you do something repeatedly, you have to both "perform it" (repeat certain lines and arcs and gestures), and come across as authentic
Korel Laloix: Nothing wrong with using style and polish to present an idea you think is worthy of attention.
Eos Amaterasu: like being a true actor
Eos Amaterasu: there's some shakespeare line about it being through fiction we catch the truth
Eliza Madrigal: that reminds me somehow of "mantles"
Eos Amaterasu: mantles?
Eliza Madrigal: the way someone takes a position for a time and to use Biblical terms, a mantle falls upon them when in that role
Eliza Madrigal: when seeing them outside of that role, one might say "they are nothing like that!"
Eos Amaterasu: persona
Eos Amaterasu: avatar :-)
Korel Laloix: Everyone has different roles they have to fulfill.
Catrinamonblue Resident: yes
Korel Laloix: I am very different when I teach Sunday School, or when I am working my self defense program, or in my running club, or in class.
Eliza Madrigal: well when that mantle is there they may even access information they might not otherwise, triggered by setting
Eos Amaterasu: like putting on your seer's hat
Eliza Madrigal: :) yes
Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
Eliza Madrigal: the mantle stories in the bible are like buddhist transmission stories... the mantle falls from heaven and is picked up by someone
Eos Amaterasu: the yoke's on you
Eliza Madrigal: :)
Eliza Madrigal: lol
Eos Amaterasu: maybe that's supreme authenticity, when your particular life story tells the cosmic story
Eos Amaterasu: in such a way that anyone's story could be _the_ story
Eliza Madrigal: beautiful notion
Eos Amaterasu: "I am the way, the truth, and the life"
Eos Amaterasu: you are the way, the truth, the life
Eliza Madrigal: authentic being
Eliza Madrigal: :) avatars seem a very tricky area... why are the same persons so like their avatars to some and so unlike them to others?
Eliza Madrigal: Hi Aph :)
Eos Amaterasu: ah, there's aph
Catrinamonblue Resident: Hi Aph :)
Eos Amaterasu: Can you say more about that, Eliza?
Eliza Madrigal: just considering a line in Pride and Prejudice about puzzling character and exceedingly different accounts
--BELL--
Aphrodite Macbain: 's current display-name is "Aph".
Eliza Madrigal: and how that relates when adding an extra 'virtual' layer into the 'mix' of getting to know people/persons, and how to hold that question open in light of authentic being (though a bit of a stretch in trying to phrase it all)
Eos Amaterasu: we can be two-faced (hypocrites) or heroes/heroines with a thousand faces (authentic)
Eos Amaterasu: I think the latter is more driven by the needs of the situation or whoever one is with, being 100% for them, and so you are reflecting in their bowl of water
Eos Amaterasu: but it is the good ol' moon
Eliza Madrigal: Eos, that seems wisdom indeed
Eliza Madrigal: my goodness... I was in bed not feeling well the other night and watched a terrible film... but it had an interesting thread about two faces as light and dark, and love as embracing both sides
Eliza Madrigal: suppose that's what is meant when people 'see through' (rambles)
Eos Amaterasu: beyond either side
Eliza Madrigal: :)
--BELL--
Eos Amaterasu opens his bowl to the moon
Eos Amaterasu: "it's full of stars!"
Eos Amaterasu: and drinks
Eos Amaterasu: ah, sake!
Eliza Madrigal smiling, thank you for twinkling at us
Eos Amaterasu: toasting each of our lives, aph and eliza and korel and catrina
Eos Amaterasu: kira kira
Korel Laloix smiles
Korel Laloix: Time for sleeps I think.
Korel Laloix: Take care all.
Eos Amaterasu: ciao, Korel!
Eliza Madrigal: :) Night Korel, pleasant sleep
Aphrodite Macbain: Sorry I have been silent. I had a terrible time logging in.
Aphrodite Macbain: and now I have to go. :-(
Catrinamonblue Resident: I'm off too, sry wasn't much for conversation tonight
Eos Amaterasu: hmm, bed time indeed, good night cat and aph
Eliza Madrigal: okay, sorry Aph, nice to see you Cat
Eliza Madrigal: and, sincere thank you again Eos - very comforting to be here tonight, appreciate your open bowl :)
Eos Amaterasu: and you sun faced, moon faced
Eliza Madrigal: so many hugs lovely friend
Eliza Madrigal: night
Eos Amaterasu: ((( )))
Eos Amaterasu: good night!
Eliza Madrigal: (((((((Eos))))))
