DR42 Resident: 's current display-name is "Riff Raff Maude".
Bleu Oleander: 's current display-name is "Bleu".
    Bleu Oleander: hiya Maude
    DR42 Resident: Hi
DR42 Resident: I have a small suggestion. For the schedule board, what about a notecard with some sort of bio in each box, or whatever the person wants, with a simply card giver.
Bleu Oleander: oh yes, Steve sent me a note about that
    Bleu Oleander: possible, sure
Bleu Oleander: oh course anyone can also see your profile
Bleu Oleander: I get so many notecards ... fills up my inventory :)
DR42 Resident: Yes, but this would be something the person wanted to share, more than just a very limited profile.
Bleu Oleander: sure it's def possible
DR42 Resident: If the person wanted, it could be a gift (nopt just a note card), or simply a status in chat.
Bleu Oleander: what's a status in chat?
Bleu Oleander: saying whether they're on line or not?
DR42 Resident whispers: "Sorry, I will be unable to make the session today"
DR42 Resident: On-line is another option.
Bleu Oleander: ah ok ... sure
    --BELL--

Bleu Oleander: thanks for the suggestions ... will look into that :)
DR42 Resident: I could script it. Give one object or notecard, but for a notecard, if the name is "status", whisper the inventory description.
Bleu Oleander: is that different from the notecard giver script we use in the Dome?
DR42 Resident: Not sure, as I havent been there, but, yes, I bet it would be slightly different.
Bleu Oleander: I think that's the one I've been using
Bleu Oleander: Storm has a script that he gives out at the dome
Bleu Oleander: "time as shows up in the 90 sec pauses" is the topic this week ... any thoughts?
    DR42 Resident: No yet.
    DR42 Resident: Not
Bleu Oleander: do you practice the 90 sec pauses?
    Korel Laloix: Osiyo
    Bleu Oleander: heya Kori

Bleu Oleander: was just asking about the topic this week

Bleu Oleander: "time as shows up in the 90 sec pauses" is the topic this week
Bleu Oleander: what are your thoughts on the 90 sec pauses?
    Korel Laloix smiles
    --BELL--

Korel Laloix: I use them as convienient times to 1) get a snack, 2) pee, 3) compose my thoughts 4) text someone.... So I am afraid their purpose is lost on me.
Bleu Oleander: ah so you don't even try?
Korel Laloix: Personally at least..... but I think they do let people redirct... which is both good and bad sometimes.
Korel Laloix: I did at first.... but dropped the dropping after a bit... sorry.
Bleu Oleander: no need to be sorry
Bleu Oleander: doesn't work for everyone :)
Bleu Oleander: for me, it's more of a change of focus
    Bleu Oleander: widening my attention
Bleu Oleander: so what is your focus here at PaB then?

Korel Laloix: The thing is.. sometiems those changes in focus are counter to the discussion... and that can detract.
Korel Laloix: I am not sure I have a focus...
Korel Laloix: And that is one of the reasons I like it.
Bleu Oleander: yes I think that does happen
Korel Laloix: It is not really targeted like in school work.
    Bleu Oleander: so focus-free :)
    Bleu Oleander: open possibilities
Bleu Oleander: do you like having the topics of week suggestions?
Bleu Oleander: or prefer to wing it?
Bleu Oleander: sorry if sounding like a focus group haha
    Korel Laloix smiles
Korel Laloix: I like the focus topics...
Korel Laloix: Just suggestions so they at elast give us a nudge when no natural topic comes up.
Bleu Oleander: this weeks topic is to look at time during the pauses and reflect on that
Bleu Oleander: yes agree with that
Bleu Oleander: there was an interesting article on time in the paper today
Korel Laloix: And it keeps us from getting in the rut of discussion current events all the time.
Korel Laloix: Oh do tell please.

    Bleu Oleander: http://www.nytimes.com/2013/07/21/op...f=opinion&_r=0

Bleu Oleander: seems if you stay busy learning something time slips by slower
Bleu Oleander: "velocity of time is a big fat cognitive illusion"
Korel Laloix: Weill right now tih school... time is going by soooo slowlly...
    Bleu Oleander: :)
Bleu Oleander: "Attention and memory play a part in our perception of time."
DR42 Resident: I have always felt the the older you become, the faster time seems to move. When you are 10, one year my represent 20% of your cognitive life, while, when you are 55, it represents only 2%.
Korel Laloix: Interesting... will have to read that.
Bleu Oleander: yes, when we're younger we spend more time learning ... so time seems slower
    --BELL--

Bleu Oleander: as we get older we tend to have the "same days" over and over again ... so time seems to speed up
Korel Laloix: I guess I can't see a reason to dissagree with that.
DR42 Resident: My point is that you judge time based on what part of your life it represents. I don't think activity type is directly related.
Bleu Oleander: so one way to look at the pauses is to stop and see if you are doing the "same 'ol thing" or are learning something new
Bleu Oleander: actually the article does think activity makes a difference
Korel Laloix: I can tell if I am learning without pausing though.
Korel Laloix: If I was not learning, I probably would not stop by here...
    Bleu Oleander: ok lol
    Bleu Oleander: good point
    Bleu Oleander: so staying engaged
Bleu Oleander: not living on automatic
Bleu Oleander: well I have an early appt today so must poof
Bleu Oleander: take care and enjoy your sunday
    DR42 Resident: kk
Bleu Oleander: nice to see you both
Bleu Oleander: bye for now :)
    Korel Laloix: Ciao
DR42 Resident: Time for me to poof as well, home chores.
Korel Laloix: Ciao.. thanks for the chat
