The Guardian for this meeting was Bruce Mowbray. The comments are by Bruce Mowbray.

    DR42 Resident: ηαмαѕтє
Bruce Mowbray: Namaste and good day, Maude and Kori.
DR42 Resident: Just woke up. :)
    Bruce Mowbray: My new fish!
DR42 Resident: I am asleep, I see no fish...
Bruce Mowbray: It is way behind us, but still inside the playgoda.
Bruce Mowbray: ...l swimming back and forth.
    DR42 Resident: See it now.
DR42 Resident: I assume you didn't find Blub
Bruce Mowbray: I think it might have just swum right through you, Maude.
Bruce Mowbray: I went to every single region I'd visited in the past three months, and searched in each for Blub, but to no avail.
DR42 Resident: "*GALLI* - Swimmer V2- Royal Angel Fish Blue" seems a nicer name. :(

    --BELL--

DR42 Resident: Since you can both copy and modify, why not set the name to something easier to locate?
Bruce Mowbray: You mean, for the fish?
    DR42 Resident: Yes
Bruce Mowbray: for THIS fish, not for Blub?
DR42 Resident: Yes, for this one
Bruce Mowbray: Well, when I want to locate this one, I just type in "angel fish" and there it is.
DR42 Resident: And keep many copies in your inventory.. :)
    Bruce Mowbray: Hello, Cat.
    Catrinamonblue Resident: Hi guys :)
    Korel Laloix: heya
Bruce Mowbray: This is quite a cool fish.
    Catrinamonblue Resident: hello fish :)
Bruce Mowbray: Its owner can set points for it to swim through...
    Catrinamonblue Resident: nice
Bruce Mowbray: last night I set it to swim to every pillar in this playgoda... and it did!
    Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
Bruce Mowbray: The owner can also set its speed.
    Korel Laloix: Sounds fun.
Korel Laloix: Is it one of those that you have feed and it breeds and all that?
Bruce Mowbray: nope. no feeding. no breeding. Just swimming to set points and back again.
    Korel Laloix: Cheaper that way.
    Bruce Mowbray: yeppers.
Bruce Mowbray: I'll bring it out here and have it swim nearer to where we're seated.
Korel Laloix: Never had a SL pet.
Korel Laloix: Want to get a cat RL though.
DR42 Resident: Will it stay wherever you leave it?

(Sry, Maude.  I didn't see your question while we were meeting.  Yes, the fish does stay and continue swimming  wherever I leave it.)

Korel Laloix: Or two or three.
Catrinamonblue Resident: :) I have 3 RL cats
Catrinamonblue Resident: had 5 at one time :)
DR42 Resident: Used to volunteer at a cat shelter besides being owned by three cats.
Bruce Mowbray: It is supposed to swim back and forth through the points I've indicated for it.
    DR42 Resident: shelter
    Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
Bruce Mowbray: and at the speed I've indicated.
Korel Laloix: That sounds like fun.
Korel Laloix: Cats seem to like me... or at least like to sit on me.
Korel Laloix: Not sure what that means.
Bruce Mowbray: Yes, cats are like psychic vacuum sweepers.... They know where to go to find that energy.
Bruce Mowbray: Sounds like you're a good place to find it, Kori.
    Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
Korel Laloix: If you say so...
    Korel Laloix smiles
Bruce Mowbray: I'm a dog person, myself.
Bruce Mowbray: Haven't had a cat since I was in college -- over forty years ago.
    Bruce Mowbray: Heya, Qt.
Korel Laloix: Back to RL... frowns...
Catrinamonblue Resident: I grew up with lots of dogs, love them but don't have the space or time to properly care for one right now
DR42 Resident: For cats, energy ==> Food
Korel Laloix: Might see you all later.
    Korel Laloix: Take care.
    Qt Core: Hi all
    Catrinamonblue Resident: bye Korel
Bruce Mowbray: Yes, dogs need space.. a farm is perfect for them.
Bruce Mowbray: Bye for now, Kori (and bye, cats).
    Catrinamonblue Resident: Hi QT :)
    DR42 Resident: Hi QT
Bruce Mowbray: Want to thank you again for suggesting that Stellarium program, Qt.
    Qt Core: yw :-)
    Bruce Mowbray: http://www.stellarium.org/
Bruce Mowbray: I still have not figured out how to set it for my own location, though.
Bruce Mowbray: It wants to put me in Paris, for some unknown reason.
Qt Core: (because it is a French program
Bruce Mowbray: Ohhh. . . that would explain a lot, I guess.
Qt Core: if i remember it correctly
DR42 Resident: Paris is the center of the universe?
    Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
Bruce Mowbray: So, I can't change it to show the sky where I live?
Qt Core: yes. just a sec
    DR42 Resident: Big program...
Bruce Mowbray runs to kitchen to get nuts and raisins.
    Bruce Mowbray: [back]
Bruce Mowbray: It's a marvelous program.
Catrinamonblue Resident: brb looking for snack (Bruce made me hungry :)
Qt Core: go with the mouse to the left corner of the screen, some tools will appear, the first one is a compass where you can set your position (and check it as the default/starting one)
DR42 Resident: Bruce, you had to run to the kitchen to get your nuts?
    Bruce Mowbray ponders virtual hunger.

    --BELL--

Bruce Mowbray: Oh cooloo!! THANKS, Qt!
    Catrinamonblue Resident: twinkie mmmmm
Bruce Mowbray: Yes, not only my nuts, but my raisins, also.
Bruce Mowbray: fishie seems to love the fountain.

    7-27-2013 4-41-56 PM.png

Bruce Mowbray: What are these cross-hairs I see with names above them?
DR42 Resident: So what did people do with their 90 second break?
Bruce Mowbray: Well, you already know what I did. I went looking for my nuts (and my raisins.)
DR42 Resident made a Gin and Tonic.
Bruce Mowbray: yum yum -- LOVES gin and tonic!
    Qt Core: eat some cashews
Qt Core: (the last ones :-( )
Bruce Mowbray: yum yum, again. loves cachews.
    Bruce Mowbray: also cashews.
Bruce Mowbray: cachews are what one has with a cold, no?
    Bruce Mowbray: caaaachewwww!
    Qt Core: ...
    Qt Core: :-)
Catrinamonblue Resident: was looking at the program you guys mentioned :) managed to change my location will spend some time with it later
    Bruce Mowbray: Great, Cat.
Bruce Mowbray: An excellent program, to be sure.
Bruce Mowbray: Last week Maude also gave us links to many fine programs.
Catrinamonblue Resident: will have to go read the log :)
Qt Core: you can change the position in time and its speed too (for planning a night for example)
    DR42 Resident: I don't even remember which ones. :)
Bruce Mowbray: They are all in the log from last week (this session last Saturday).
Bruce Mowbray: But for some of them, I couldn't get the wiki to list them as hyperlinks...
Bruce Mowbray: still don't know why some will link and others will not link....
    Bruce Mowbray: (mystifying.)
DR42 Resident: We have been having Music Monday, where we share music clips and such, should this be "Software Saturday"?
    Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
Catrinamonblue Resident: I would be mostly listening as I'm not much of a computer wiz
Bruce Mowbray: H ha! Software Sunday sounds super.
Bruce Mowbray: or rather, software Saturday.
    Bruce Mowbray: sry.
Bruce Mowbray: too many s's for my brain to handle all at once.
    Catrinamonblue Resident: smiles
    DR42 Resident: Silly sentient
Qt Core: (btw, Bruce, the crossair with names are pulsars, you activated them in the options
Bruce Mowbray: I ACTIVATED THEM.. ONG! How did I do that?
    Bruce Mowbray: OMG.
Bruce Mowbray: Maybe I did that when I was looking for Blub yesterday.
Qt Core: in the third item of the left side toolbar
DR42 Resident: Sounds like Startrek. Select pulsar, "Start them Scotty"
Qt Core: there you can activate/deactivate many visualization options
Bruce Mowbray: Are you talking about the Firestorm viewer?
Qt Core: yes, i take atmosphere and horizon pff, add some grids and i feel like i'm in astronometry (from Voyager)
    Qt Core: no, stellarium
Bruce Mowbray: How could stellarium possibly give us crosshairs in the Firestorm viewer? That's the crosshairs I was referring to.
Bruce Mowbray: They are pink -- and one has Qt Core above it and the other has Catrina above it.
Bruce Mowbray: Never saw those before.
Bruce Mowbray: You don't see them?

    --BELL--

    DR42 Resident: beacons?
DR42 Resident: Depends on the beacon features you have selested.
Bruce Mowbray: Ahhh! Beacons! Yes! I did set those when I looked for Blub yesterday.
Qt Core: ok, a little miscommunication ;-)
Bruce Mowbray: Now I need to find out how to UN-set them.
DR42 Resident: x,y,z axis for the beacon.
Bruce Mowbray: Maybe one of you can tell me how to look UNDER the surface of the ground.
Bruce Mowbray: I can't seem to get my viewer to do that.
    DR42 Resident: Disable camera constraints
    Bruce Mowbray: How?
DR42 Resident: Preferences, Move and View
    Bruce Mowbray: GOT it, thanks!
    Catrinamonblue Resident: very cool :)
Bruce Mowbray: Now I'll bet I'll be able to find Blub.
Bruce Mowbray: (as well as stuff hidden under my plot.)
DR42 Resident: Area search will find him if in range, then the right click menu will allow you to "return" him.
DR42 Resident: Items returned show up in your "Lost and Found" folder.
Bruce Mowbray: Yes, I went to all of the sims I'd visited in the past few months and did an area search in each of those. No luck so far.
Bruce Mowbray loves Qt's revolving galaxy.
Bruce Mowbray looks for his own....

    Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
    Bruce Mowbray: Yayyy!
Bruce Mowbray: Software Saturday has been a total success for me today.
Bruce Mowbray: I not only learned how to get out of Paris,
Bruce Mowbray: I also learned how to look underneath the surface,
Bruce Mowbray: and how to get rid of those beacons.
    Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
    Bruce Mowbray: Yayyy!
    DR42 Resident: yay!
DR42 Resident: Getting out of Paris was one of the high points of my life!
Bruce Mowbray: Would Cat or Maude care to have their own galaxies? If so, I can give one to you.
Catrinamonblue Resident: smiles yes that would be lovely
DR42 Resident: TY, no, I would only lose it in my inventory.
    Catrinamonblue Resident: ty :)
Bruce Mowbray: well, you could find it again by typing "galaxy":
DR42 Resident: matches the Tee shirt!
    Bruce Mowbray: Cooooloooo!
Catrinamonblue Resident: of course, like Maude, it will become lost in the never ending list of my inventory but I shall enjoy it while I can find it :)
    Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
Bruce Mowbray: sort of reminds us of how small we really are, huh?
Bruce Mowbray: The size of our inventories -- not the size of our galaxies.
Catrinamonblue Resident: dust in the eye of God
Catrinamonblue Resident: and was thinking galaxies
    Catrinamonblue Resident: not inventories
    Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
Bruce Mowbray: I was too, actually.
Bruce Mowbray: I'm wearing my "Eye of God" t-shirt, come to thing of it.
Bruce Mowbray: also to THINK of it.
    Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
    Bruce Mowbray: WHOAAAAA! THANKS, Maude!

    --BELL--

Bruce Mowbray: "So, what did you do during the 90-second drop, Brucie?" "I made my galaxy smaller and re-positioned it."
DR42 Resident: Open source scripters were talking about onigokko
    DR42 Resident: :)
Bruce Mowbray: yes, please say more, Maude.
    Bruce Mowbray: onigokko
    Bruce Mowbray: stop
    Bruce Mowbray: THAT onigokko?
    DR42 Resident: yes
Qt Core: yesterday i was talking to a friends about sl weird things how i forget about it ?!
    Bruce Mowbray dies from laughing....
Bruce Mowbray: Dies while laughing is sort of a weird thing.
Bruce Mowbray: My typist has never done that, I don't think.
    Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
    Bruce Mowbray: ;-)))
Qt Core: it could be considered a good death, maybe not for the others laughing with you at the moment, maybe
Bruce Mowbray: "Die whilst laughing and you laugh alone."
Bruce Mowbray: (and, we can hope, also die alone.)
Catrinamonblue Resident: we all die sometime; laughing is a good way :)
DR42 Resident: I am amazed at the tripe that passes fort scientific fact in movies.
    Bruce Mowbray: Totally agree, Cat.
    Bruce Mowbray: really?
Bruce Mowbray: Like in the Big Bang Theory?
Bruce Mowbray: or some other movie in particular?
DR42 Resident: "Ice Station Zebra" is on TV.
    Bruce Mowbray: Oh?
Bruce Mowbray: and the tripe in that one?
DR42 Resident: BBT is another good example.
Catrinamonblue Resident: doesn't watch much in the way of movies or TV unless Dr Who :)
Bruce Mowbray: I heard there is a video of Stephen Hawking explaining the theme music of the BBT.
    Bruce Mowbray: somewhere.
Bruce Mowbray: Maybe on YouTube, I don't know.
DR42 Resident: Ah, something to share on Music Monday.
    Bruce Mowbray: Cooooloooo!
Bruce Mowbray: except I have Original Face at that time, so cannot be here for all the music.
DR42 Resident: They said that north of Scotland that a compass was useless because they were too close to the north pole.
Bruce Mowbray: Cooolooo!  Like on the island chains north of Scotland?
Bruce Mowbray: (I'm assuming that they meant the MAGNETIC north pole...)
DR42 Resident: Yea. Of course, the North Pole is nowhere near the magnetic North pole, and a comas will still work just fine there as well.
Bruce Mowbray: but wouldn't that compass have to point SOUTH if you were at the geographic north pole?
Qt Core: i need to go, bye all
Bruce Mowbray: Bye for now, Qt!
    Catrinamonblue Resident: Bye Qt :)
Bruce Mowbray: Thanks for coming today!
DR42 Resident: Yes, it would, but it would still point at the magnetic north pole, which, IIRC is in Canada.
Bruce Mowbray: Take care of your galaxy.
Bruce Mowbray quietly collects his fish and galaxy, preparing to leave, also.
Catrinamonblue Resident: Found Steven Hawking's BBT video for you :)
    Catrinamonblue Resident: http://insidetv.ew.com/2013/07/19/stephen-hawking-big-bang-theory-theme/

DR42 Resident: Well, you can leave your fish here....
    Bruce Mowbray: OH GREAT! Thanks!
    Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
Catrinamonblue Resident: Must be off too, time to find some real food :)
Catrinamonblue Resident: twinkies are fun snacks but not filling :)
Bruce Mowbray: I don't think Stormy likes us to leave personal stuff in the fountain.
DR42 Resident: n 2001, it was determined by the Geological Survey of Canada to lie near Ellesmere Island in northern Canada at 81.3°N 110.8°W. It was situated at 83.1°N 117.8°W in 2005. In 2009, while still situated within the Canadian Arctic territorial claim at 84.9°N 131.0°W,[2] it was moving toward Russia at between 34 and 37 miles (55 and 60 km) per year.[3] As of 2012, the pole is projected to have moved beyond the Canadian Arctic territorial claim to 85.9°N 147.0°W.[2]
Bruce Mowbray: I wonder if it will ever reach Ohio.
Catrinamonblue Resident: cool :) thanks Maude
    Catrinamonblue Resident: neat to know
    Catrinamonblue Resident: bye now
Bruce Mowbray: Time for moi to depart.
Bruce Mowbray: May all be safe and happy.
    DR42 Resident: bye
    DR42 Resident: Safe travels
Bruce Mowbray: Bye for now, Maude and Cat.
    Bruce Mowbray dies from laughing....
