Corvuscorva Nightfire: How are you, Eden? Hi, Pila
    Corvuscorva Nightfire: hi fox!
    Corvuscorva Nightfire: brb
Eden Haiku: Fine, thanks. A bit of a cold...
Pila Mulligan: greetings Corvi, Eden and Fox
Fox Monacular: unfortunately I can't really stay... another family gathering:) I'm catching the log
Eden Haiku: Hello Pila, Fox ;-)
    Pila Mulligan: ok
Corvuscorva Nightfire: aw well, another time, then.
Fox Monacular: sorry about that, hope you have a good talk:)
    Pila Mulligan: bye Fox
Eden Haiku: Bye Fox, have a nice evening.
Fox Monacular: perhaps I"ll join you later, will try my best!
    Pila Mulligan: bye for now
    Fox Monacular: bye-bye
    Corvuscorva Nightfire: bye for now
Eden Haiku: I love your skirt.
Eden Haiku: You are very elegant,
Fox Monacular: thanks, I like your wings!
    Eden Haiku: ;-)
Pila Mulligan: anything interesting happening lately?
Corvuscorva Nightfire smiles at the question.
Pila Mulligan: the New York Times has a front page article about a Vietnamese man returning to Vietnam for the first time after having fled at age 5 in 1975
    Corvuscorva Nightfire: wow
Pila Mulligan: he returned as the Captain of a US Navy destrpyer
Pila Mulligan: and was welcmed by the Vietnamese and visited his fmaily there
    Corvuscorva Nightfire nods
    Pila Mulligan: http://www.nytimes.com/2009/11/10/wo...ef=global-home
Pila Mulligan: “I had noodle soup by the Perfume River, sitting on little plastic stools,” he said. “I definitely felt like a Vietnamese, just enjoying that food and the company of my family.”
Eden Haiku: Were you in Vietnam Pila?
    Corvuscorva Nightfire: smiles
Pila Mulligan: almost, but not actually
Pila Mulligan: I wa sin the Navy then
    Pila Mulligan: was in*
Eden Haiku: Stationed in the Pacific?
    Pila Mulligan: no, actualy Maryland
Pila Mulligan: with an aviation training squadron
    --BELL--
Pila Mulligan: our squadron was going to take an Admiral on a tour of Vietnam, flying him there (we flew large ariplanes) and I was going to go with the tour party, but then the Navy released 10,000 junior officers early as Vietnam was winding down, so I got out early before the tour left
Eden Haiku: I have memories of a past life in the navy in Hawaii. I remembered it when I was there.
    Eden Haiku: You were lucky.
Pila Mulligan: how far past do you reckon?
Pila Mulligan: as I had the same expereince :)
Corvuscorva Nightfire: couldn't have been far past in Hawaii?
Corvuscorva Nightfire: How long has there been Navy in Hawaii?
Pila Mulligan: well, from the late 1800's
    Corvuscorva Nightfire: nods.
    Pila Mulligan: mine was WWII
Eden Haiku: I remember past lives from Atlantis, from the Isle of Mu also. But I don't know what these memories are. Akashik records?
Corvuscorva Nightfire: past life speaking..that sheems a short time?
    Corvuscorva Nightfire nods.
Pila Mulligan: my recollections doont go that far back :)
Eden Haiku: Hawaian lfe time as an American navy officer a man, that was 1941.
    Pila Mulligan: WWII
Pila Mulligan: what do you rememebr?
Eden Haiku: Yes. maybe we were on the same ship?
Pila Mulligan: I was in airplanes-- again :)
Eden Haiku: The way I died. In a fire, near the machine chambers.
Pila Mulligan: that part I rememebr well
    Pila Mulligan: maybe Pearl Harbor?
Eden Haiku: Yes, it was Pearl harbour.
Pila Mulligan: did you visit Pearl Harbor while you were there?
    Pila Mulligan: this itme
Eden Haiku: Yes, I did. This is when I remembred. I was travelling with a past-life specialist, a psy from Montreal and her young son, We both joked we had been on the ship (we were at the Memorial). She took us serouisly. But it is only layter, In Montreal, working with her that the memory came back.
    Pila Mulligan: :)
Pila Mulligan: it is a moving expereince, visting the memorial
Eden Haiku: How did you rememebr WWII?
Pila Mulligan: I've rememebred it in snippets all my life
Pila Mulligan: my earliest childhood thoughts were of wanting to fly in the navy
Pila Mulligan: little pieces fell into place as I got older
Eden Haiku: Snippets, yes, that is often what these memories are isn't? I used to be obsessed with past-lives memories. Not anymore.
Pila Mulligan: I have had that lifetime's expereince of dying in an airplane crash repetitively in this lifetime
Pila Mulligan: my last thought before I died was 'i could have done that better'
Pila Mulligan: and I think i brought that with me to this lifetime
Eden Haiku: My brother, when he was a little boy, always made drawings of boats, the ocean. I was asking him. Why? You never saw the ocean? He said he liked it. He beacme a Canadian Coast Guard officer ;-)
    Pila Mulligan: :)
Pila Mulligan: tradtiionally there is thought ot be some continuity between lifetimes
Pila Mulligan: e.g., at the top, the Dalai Lama
    Pila Mulligan: for example
Eden Haiku: Yes, it so funny how he calls his dentures as the XII dalai-lama in his autobiography ;-)
    Eden Haiku: *recalls
    Pila Mulligan: :)
Eden Haiku: Do you have any recollection of past0lives Corvuscorva?
    Eden Haiku: *past-lives
    Corvuscorva Nightfire: I don't..not a bit
Corvuscorva Nightfire: I was just sitting here wondering if I'd ever had one.
Eden Haiku: You are normal ;-) We are supposed to forget them. The river of Lethee, the Greeks called it. In which we forget,
Pila Mulligan: odds are that you have
    Pila Mulligan: in my view
Pila Mulligan: or impossible in some people's views :)
Pila Mulligan: do you have addiitonal memory snippets of your shipboard expereince Eden?
    --BELL--
Corvuscorva Nightfire: what is it that continues? what is it that has lives, past and present?
Eden Haiku: The ego I beleive.
Eden Haiku: The being part do dissolve into Being but the ego keeps on playing...
Eden Haiku: That is my point of view ;-)
    Corvuscorva Nightfire thinks about this...
Corvuscorva Nightfire: what is the being part?
Corvuscorva Nightfire: sorry...that's a really stupid question
    Pila Mulligan: not really
Corvuscorva Nightfire: I'm feeling a little brain fuzzy.
Pila Mulligan: it is one of the fundamental qurestions :)
Pila Mulligan: and there are different answers :)
    Corvuscorva Nightfire: nods
Eden Haiku: As I was going in the fridge to get some drops of echinacea for my cold, I had a snippet of memory of this officer. He was getting high on ether. I remembered that many years ago but it came back to me as I was preparing the drops in water...
    Pila Mulligan: :)
Eden Haiku: Being part would be the essence I suppose. The part of us which is One with the Oversoul or something..
Pila Mulligan: reincarnaiton is also called transmigration fo souls
    Pila Mulligan: of*
Pila Mulligan: so that suggests souls reincarnate -- but that is a name and not an answer :)
Pila Mulligan: I tihnk the essence of our personal being is expereince
Pila Mulligan: and whatever part of us contains our expereince just keeps accukmulating it
Eden Haiku: These questions are so deep mysteries...
    Pila Mulligan: hi Bene
    Benedizione Vita: allo pila
    Eden Haiku: Hello Benedizione!
Pila Mulligan: the topic of the moment is reincarnation :)
    Corvuscorva Nightfire: hi Benedizione
    Benedizione Vita: alllo eden, corvuscorva
    Benedizione Vita: I see
Pila Mulligan: particularly Corvi's question: what is it that has lives, past and present?
Corvuscorva Nightfire: please, Eden, Benedizione..call me Corvi.
Eden Haiku: Ouf! Thanks Corvi, much easier. Yours is the name of a bird right?
    Corvuscorva Nightfire: yep
    Corvuscorva Nightfire: crows, ravens, mynas
    Corvuscorva Nightfire: etc
    stevenaia Michinaga: hello
Eden Haiku: Steve, how are you?
    Corvuscorva Nightfire: hey Stevie
    stevenaia Michinaga: good thanks
    Pila Mulligan: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corvus_%28genus%29
    Pila Mulligan: hi Steve
    stevenaia Michinaga: waitng to rezz
Corvuscorva Nightfire: I like the idea of lives past/present being accumulations of experiences.
Pila Mulligan: that's as far as I've gotten with the quesiton, Corvi
Eden Haiku: Thanks forthe link to the birds Pila!
Pila Mulligan: but it makes sense to me
    Pila Mulligan: :)
Pila Mulligan: Bene just arrived too Steve
Pila Mulligan: earlier Eden Corvi and I were talking about reincarnation
Eden Haiku: In a native Indian tradition, the crow is the guardian of Ogallah, the unknown archives, something like that.
stevenaia Michinaga: I only know of the generalities :)
Corvuscorva Nightfire: maybe I was a crow in the last life..and that's why I can't remember it.
    Corvuscorva Nightfire laughs.
Eden Haiku: So you might the one who remeber the best, the all-blackness of it all Corvi.
    Corvuscorva Nightfire smiles.
Eden Haiku: Because, in fact there is only emptiness.
stevenaia Michinaga: was wondering recently if all the things we speak of, dreams, past lives, ghosts are just manifestations of of alternative universes here
Eden Haiku: I'm just repeating buddhist stanzas like a parrot here. I never understood emptiness. ;-)
    Eden Haiku: Alterbanative universes
    Corvuscorva Nightfire: heh
Pila Mulligan: there's some excellent fiction built on alternative universes
stevenaia Michinaga: sure , the things we can only theoroize but never prove (at the moment
Eden Haiku: *Alternative universes, yes. And there is a scientific therory about it I thing: superchords.
    Eden Haiku: *I think
    --BELL--
    stevenaia Michinaga: nice landing Fox
    Fox Monacular: hehe, sorry Benedizione:)
    Pila Mulligan: wb Fox
Pila Mulligan: we've been talking about reincarnation and alternate universes :)
    Fox Monacular: oh, cool!
    Pila Mulligan: :)
Benedizione Vita: I wish I had seen the landing, I was attending to rl business :)
    Pila Mulligan: symmetry in seating
    Benedizione Vita: what happened?
Fox Monacular: SL is an alternate universe too
Benedizione Vita: oh no, not the symmetry again!
Eden Haiku: Birds chipping at night/ The crow leading us somewhere/In the deep unknown
Fox Monacular: I sort of materialized on your head
    Pila Mulligan: :)
    Benedizione Vita: onigokko
stevenaia Michinaga: what a better way to explain it all by using something you can't explain
    Corvuscorva Nightfire: heh
Benedizione Vita: there goes your symmetry!
    Benedizione Vita: stop
Pila Mulligan: kind of but note the gender
    Fox Monacular: onigokko
    Pila Mulligan: stop
    Pila Mulligan: ready?
    Eden Haiku: ok
    Pila Mulligan: onigokko
    Benedizione Vita: stop
    Pila Mulligan: hm, quick Bene
Benedizione Vita: you warned me :)
    Fox Monacular: onigokko
    Eden Haiku: Killer
Eden Haiku: I'm laughing aloud at my screen...
    Corvuscorva Nightfire: onigokko
Pila Mulligan: what a place :)
    Corvuscorva Nightfire: hehe
    Eden Haiku: What a place!
Corvuscorva Nightfire dances with wild abandond.
Fox Monacular: I like how Bene is running with his cup of tea
    Eden Haiku: Laughs very loud!
Benedizione Vita: speaking of wild abandon, has anyone tried journey to wild divine?
    Corvuscorva Nightfire: noooo?
    Fox Monacular: now!
Eden Haiku: What is journey to wild divine?
Benedizione Vita: not entirely sure, some kindof game/meditation software
    Corvuscorva Nightfire is breathless
Benedizione Vita: I have thought about buying it at various times, but
Benedizione Vita: I am waiting to hear a review from someone who has tried it
    Benedizione Vita: http://www.wilddivine.com/
Eden Haiku: has a good cardiac reserve on SL
Eden Haiku: much better than in RL
    Corvuscorva Nightfire giggle
Fox Monacular: seriously, i feel out of breath just looking at the screen
Corvuscorva Nightfire: thinks that those in this group still talking have incredible reserve.
    Eden Haiku: Me too!
    Pila Mulligan: :)
    Pila Mulligan: good exercise then
Benedizione Vita: I wonder if the effects carry over into RL
Pila Mulligan: like chatting during a marathon
    Fox Monacular: hehe, I wish
    Corvuscorva Nightfire: some at least..
Benedizione Vita: I have seen some studies suggesting psychological benefits in SL carry over
Benedizione Vita: there probably i some small carryover even for running
Fox Monacular: work out in SL, feel better in RL
Corvuscorva Nightfire: any that affect outlook.
Eden Haiku: This game sounds interesting Bene. Will I ever find time to do anything else than play?
    Corvuscorva Nightfire: should you?
Benedizione Vita: if you try it let me know eden
Eden Haiku: Very funny Fox! If that could be true!
Corvuscorva Nightfire thinks she might have to stop
    Corvuscorva Nightfire: stop
    Corvuscorva Nightfire: heheh
    Pila Mulligan: oops
    Corvuscorva Nightfire: poor fox
    Fox Monacular: hehe
    Pila Mulligan: stop
    stevenaia Michinaga: party pooper
    Corvuscorva Nightfire pushes Steve's shoulder.
stevenaia Michinaga: Iw as jsut working up a sweat

    Eden Haiku: Good nite Bene!
stevenaia Michinaga: there's a snapshot to dick commant in the file menu
Fox Monacular: screen capture should be easy

stevenaia Michinaga: a mac has a screen shot to file
Eden Haiku: We are far far into the abysmal here...
Fox Monacular: on a mac there;s a neat screen capture tool where you can just select the portion of the screeen that you want to capture
    stevenaia Michinaga: :)
    Pila Mulligan: :)
Pila Mulligan: make swindows look antique
stevenaia Michinaga: that will work too fox

    Pila Mulligan: brb
    Eden Haiku: Ah...
Fox Monacular: I like these late sessions too...
Fox Monacular: although I might have to leave unexpectedly when baby's out of bath...
doug Sosa: Also necessary because i can't get my family dinner to not interfere wiht 7. If i et them to eat eearlier, grumpy, later grumpy.

Eden Haiku: My brother lives in a place called Paradise.
    Paradise Tennant: nice choice
    Eden Haiku: yes ;-)
doug Sosa: On the way back from honollulu i jerked my suitcase nd by friday it was real sore. yesterday was the worst.
    doug Sosa: today better, but
doug Sosa: it was an amazing time to do sort of the 9 sec
doug Sosa: and see of i could hold it with the pain.
    Paradise Tennant: :(
    Fox Monacular: :(
    Pila Mulligan: ouch
    Eden Haiku: Ouch
doug Sosa: Very hard, like real time had a cut rhough it that went into the 9 sec despite
doug Sosa: my best efforts to drop all concepts.
    Eden Haiku: ;-)
    doug Sosa: everything seemed smaller.
doug Sosa: and i finally realized it was because
doug Sosa: i knew i couldn;t move fast to go anywhere so i was almost confined..
Fox Monacular: reminds me of dilligently applying vipassana to a sore knee:) it's impermanent, impermanent!!! except the knee pain!
    Eden Haiku: ;-)
Fox Monacular: sorry I interrupted you doug, please go on
Eden Haiku: Are you still in pain Doug?
doug Sosa: oh that's it. no inerruptions are interruptions, just part of the conversation.
doug Sosa: yes, but not so bad, i think tomorrow it will be almost normal.
Eden Haiku: Sending you healing thoughts ;-)
doug Sosa: The 9 sec practie made it much more interesting than it would have been.
    Paradise Tennant: :)
    --BELL--
doug Sosa: Fox, I am still affected by your dreams from days back.
Corvuscorva Nightfire: ulp..time for me to go!

    Fox Monacular: bye Corvi
Fox Monacular: you mean the dying dreams, Doug?
doug Sosa: yes, and all that went with them.
Fox Monacular: yes.... that was quite an intense period
Fox Monacular: although in retrospect it seems clearer and clearer
Paradise Tennant: they stayed with me too .. so vivid and scary in parts
    Fox Monacular: :)
Fox Monacular: scary, yes... but i wouldt say they were nightmares
doug Sosa: redemptive and honest i can say, but the real thing is, it was such a great story, and so well told!
Fox Monacular: :) thanks! i really regret not writing them down... now i'm afraid, it might be too late...
Fox Monacular: there's too much interpretation and too little vividness... now after having talked abu=out them
    Fox Monacular: *about
doug Sosa: well, you are vivid, that's what counts, and so is your experience.
Eden Haiku: re the dreams on the logs? What month was it?
Fox Monacular: dream memory is so fragile though... so precious too!
Paradise Tennant: yes like will o wisps
Pila Mulligan: funny how words limit thoughts
Fox Monacular: yes on the logs, here http://playasbeing.wik.is/Chat_Logs/...Dreaming_Dying
doug Sosa: (oct?) words are tiny, can be caught on a piece of vinyl or tape but a thought, huge, emense, no medium can hold one.
    Eden Haiku: Thanks Fox ;-)
Fox Monacular: sorry I'm slow to answer - BOB (baby on boob)
    Pila Mulligan: :)

doug Sosa: no just in the left traezias.
doug Sosa: trap.. connects head to left shoulder.
doug Sosa: Slows me down but yesterday it was like bullets (not that I've ever experienced one).
Pila Mulligan: ahh -- pulled muscle
Pila Mulligan: there are some very sensitive nerves ni the hand, as oyu know
doug Sosa: i think. feels like a little tear in it.
doug Sosa: and i need to go off now and put on a little heat, pull up a book and read to sleep :)
Pila Mulligan: well, see you next time then
doug Sosa: my hand is a mess, both really. dupetrens in the right little finger and the beginning of arthritus. and i play calssical guitar so i need to slow it down, another good 9 sec opportunity.
    Pila Mulligan: :)
doug Sosa: the 9 sec is really a gift.
doug Sosa: but a wonderful 9 hours of sleep ahead. Wow.
    Pila Mulligan: even better
    Pila Mulligan: recuperation time
doug Sosa: and just maybe dream time, wild time, :)
