Caledonia Heron: have you been to this discussion before Eden?
Caledonia Heron: are you familiar with how it's set-up and it's purpose?
Eden Haiku: Yes, I have been here a few times. I like it very much.

Caledonia Heron: have you tried out the 9 second practice - the micro-meditation the group engages in ?
Eden Haiku: Yes, in fact, I have been experimenting with it through the last week. I forget very often but then when I remember to do it, I always experience something interesting.

Eden Haiku: Well, for in instance, I was in the subway, bored. And I noticed this young girl standing. I wrote an haiku about her. Let me see if I remember. Cause I just took a mental note and it was a few days ago.

Eden Haiku: I was counting the syllables on my hands in the subway, someone noticed, now I am trying to remember the first verse...

Eden Haiku: I heard yesterday that on Twitter people are writing 140 characters short stories...
Gaya Ethaniel nods ... Googles 'Gurdjieff'
Eden Haiku: I am not sure if «being aware» is the good translation though. I read Gurdjieff in French so...
Gaya Ethaniel: On wikipedia, it says 'self-awareness' http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/G._I._Gurdjieff -- is this the right person Eden?
Eden Haiku: It meant something like stopping to act like machines and remembering we are beings. Same as PaB, in essence I guess. But the play part here is important. I have been enjoying a lot the «onigokko» running meditations...

Eden Haiku: He was quite a character. A friend once lent me about 30 books related to this author. I got informed! I ddi not read the whole lot but I got an idea...

Gaya Ethaniel: Do you often write poems in this way?
Eden Haiku: I staretd the haikus when I satarted PaB about a week ago. And I have been being Eden for a month and a half now ;-)
Caledonia Heron: wow - fast!
Eden Haiku: I wrote a few haikus before but it is an art I developped her in PaB. I chose the name on an impulse when I joined SL.

Archmage Atlantis: I think it was an excellent choice .... a worth trying myself
Eden Haiku: You might want to try it: three verses, 5 syllabes/7 syllabes/5 syllabes...

Caledonia Heron: ahhh, I get it better now .... I have this ache when I consider the destruction of our ecosystem, the eco-circles we are devastating
Eden Haiku: «More beige than white he was/Old, dying» is very moving. Simple.

Eden Haiku: Poetry is a nice way to record time.
Caledonia Heron: perhaps we should collect those pieces people are willing to contribute and place on the wiki :)

Eden Haiku: It would be could if/Pythons breeding in the glades/Would shake us awake
Gaya Ethaniel: Whenever I think about environmental issues, I feel pretty pesimistic ... I think it's likely that humans will self-destruct.

Eden Haiku: Here, in the Laurentians , we had bears. We saw one on our lawn at our country house.
Caledonia Heron: distinct possibility Gaya
Gaya Ethaniel: Humans are interesting creatures ...
Archmage Atlantis: Actually a black bear walked through our backyard last week :)
Eden Haiku: The fisrt time it ever happens. The bears were looking for food. Too much rain during the summer months. No berries in the woods.
Gaya Ethaniel: Hope you didn't engage in a mortal comabit in y our backyard Arch :P
Eden Haiku: I guess it is unusaul to have bears in your backyard Arch?
Archmage Atlantis: No, but the cats were freaked

Archmage Atlantis: Nothing wrong with labels as long as they are one's own choosing, imho :)
Eden Haiku: Yes, labels. I hate them too. But they are like badges we can wear in SL aren't they?
Caledonia Heron: sure, labels are fine, useful for sorting, and ways to meet and affiliate in SL - I was kind of teasing with you a bit :)
