Eos Amaterasu: Maybe it's like if you look too directly at something you don't see it (a blind spot)

Paradise Tennant: not sure I saw clearer but sometimes I find I see more of the detail .. by taking these pauses in processing :)

Calvino Rabeni: Usually light is about surfaces of things

Lila Darkmatter: Funny that letting go, stepping back, can feel like going deeper

Calvino Rabeni: it is not true for physics, in that matter is full of photons
Calvino Rabeni: but for our perception, light delivers us the impressions of the surfaces
Calvino Rabeni: except for unusual matter - clouds, water, etc.
Calvino Rabeni: But many new age meditations are about visualizing light in the body
Calvino Rabeni: I think they are trying poetically to overcome a conditioned attitude
Eos Amaterasu: there's something special about light, to be sure
Lila Darkmatter: conditioned attitude about?
Calvino Rabeni: About what is real and/or immediately present to perception.
Calvino Rabeni: Imagine what it would be like,
Calvino Rabeni: 'if our metaphysics priviliged sound as the basic nature of the universe, not light.
Calvino Rabeni: Then, I believe, we would experience it differentlyh

Eos Amaterasu: tunable sensoria, organs of perception/world of perception
Paradise Tennant: `our senses I often think of as a little box .. that has just so much informatin but there is an enormous world outside the box :)
Calvino Rabeni: It seems slightly peculiar to me that metaphysical metaphors say, an inner space of consciousness is silent (empty of sound) but full of light.
Eos Amaterasu: perhaps silence as listening, like light for seeing?
Calvino Rabeni: In an alternate metaphysics prople might say - meditate and experience the inner cosmic noise
Calvino Rabeni: But for bats, silence = not perceiving. Noise helps.

Eos Amaterasu: I found I mixed both approaches a bit: listening to farthest sound, but then also being listening sounding

Eos Amaterasu: Earlier today I went out walking trying to find the source of this very loud hum we'd been hearing

Paradise Tennant: hmm I placed my presence where my mom is some 20 mins away and listened for her breath .. she would be sleeping now .. I could almost hear it in my mind :)
Eos Amaterasu: it went away for a while, but now I'm hearing it again :-)
Calvino Rabeni: Sound interpenetrates and mixes together - it feels very generous in a way.

Paradise Tennant: a playing of parts .. an intermingling .. of resonance
Lila Darkmatter: My cat was quite demanding in the pause... but I heard two tones in his voice... a light whine made pleasant by a low undertone...
Lila Darkmatter: And it does seem to have to do with the space around it... that one can pick up distinctions
Calvino Rabeni: and an immediacy to sound, ephemeral
Calvino Rabeni: that is interesting, LD
Eos Amaterasu: less peripheral skin boundary
Calvino Rabeni: sound and space seem mixed. Maybe that is synaesthesia?
Eos Amaterasu: audio engineers play with making space with sound

Lila Darkmatter: turns our ideas of boundaries inside out ...how far is far...
Eos Amaterasu: and then of course someone like Mozart creates enormous emotional/intuitive depth
Paradise Tennant: well all music .. ignites a .. kind of energy

Paradise Tennant: but is not really complete with out a listener it seems to me

Paradise Tennant: in the dream I was sitting a table in a field with a man and a woman .. we all three were singing acapella .. just the most amazing harmony woke up my whole body was smiling
