The Guardian for this meeting was Bolonath Crystal. The comments are by Bolonath Crystal.
Bolonath Crystal: hello calvino :)
Calvino Rabeni: Hi, Bolonath. What is up?
Bolonath Crystal: not too much...
Calvino Rabeni: Multitasking, but willing to entertain anything ...
--BELL--
Effects of self-identification
Bolonath Crystal: these little 90 sec breaks help me a lot to find back to myself, when i am entangled in karmic distractions :)
Calvino Rabeni: WHen you get back to yourself, how is your correct action then different?
Bolonath Crystal: the action may not be very different at all, but the way i experience a situation
Bolonath Crystal: i stop to identify with circumstances
Calvino Rabeni: the action feels different then.
Bolonath Crystal: yes
Calvino Rabeni: better somehow?
Bolonath Crystal: yes. things become easier
Bolonath Crystal: my actions are then not longer influenced by feelings like willingness or unwillingness
Calvino Rabeni: there is a feeling of right action, I think, for me
Calvino Rabeni: I have more feeling of willingness
Bolonath Crystal: for me, too. but often at the same time i don't want to do the right things because of lazyness, cowardice or whatever
Bolonath Crystal: when i identify myself with the circumstances, things get a quality of beeing wanted or unwanted rather than beeing right or wrong
Bolonath Crystal: being*
Bolonath Crystal: then i get stuck in the imagination, that my own reality is the only reality
Calvino Rabeni: The words laziness and cowardice are interesting. THey remind me of the "seven deadly sins" or the "ten commandments".
Calvino Rabeni: The imagination can serve well, or the opposite. Depending on what, I am wondering.
Rights and wrongs - the art of wu-wei
Calvino Rabeni: I try to imagine acting rightly and liking it. But things get confused sometimes.
Bolonath Crystal nods
--BELL--
Bolonath Crystal: there is no right or wrong in an objective way. it depends on ones aims
Bolonath Crystal: if the aims are unclear, confusion is the result
Calvino Rabeni: Aims have to correspond with reality.
Bolonath Crystal: but what is reality? doesn't reality also correspond with our self-identification?
Calvino Rabeni: its a dance with a partner
Bolonath Crystal: a dance :) - i like this picture
Bolonath Crystal: reminds me of shiva :)
Calvino Rabeni: A false will is cutting against the grain. The blade will get dull.
Bolonath Crystal: our wishes are the motor of the wheel of life. so there is a great difference if my aim is to get a better karma or if my aim is to avoid karma completely
Calvino Rabeni: You can't avoid it
Bolonath Crystal: well, i'm trying my best :)
Calvino Rabeni: wu wei - is not "nonaction"
Bolonath Crystal: how do you understand wu-wei?
Calvino Rabeni: go with bigger tao, follow how things move naturally
Calvino Rabeni: For christians, called will of god.
Calvino Rabeni: I don't think that way however
Why not create karma?
Bolonath Crystal: in my opinion wu-wei has something to do with the way something is done. i agree it is not nonaction
Calvino Rabeni: karma is action. I think there is nothing but action.
Calvino Rabeni: there are subtleties to karma as a doctrine, I don't know about.
--BELL--
Bolonath Crystal: maybe wu-wei can be translated as "acting without clinging to the results of action". having no expectations or so... or maybe: acting without creating further karma
Calvino Rabeni: Why not create lots?
Calvino Rabeni: :)
Bolonath Crystal: karma is the cuse of rebirth. if you are willing to reincarnate, then it is best to create a lot of karma, preferably good karma
Bolonath Crystal: cause*
Bolonath Crystal: if you try to avoid reincarnation, you have to avoid karma, even good karma
Calvino Rabeni: I do not desire to get off the train of life. I took a vow not to do that.
Bolonath Crystal: oh, bodhisattvas often do that
Calvino Rabeni: true
Calvino Rabeni: suffering is ok
Calvino Rabeni: ok
Calvino Rabeni: : avatar nods when I say OK
Bolonath Crystal: so he agrees ;))
Calvino Rabeni: apparently so. Never talks back or argues :)
Bolonath Crystal: hehe
Calvino Rabeni: But sometimes staggers around, even when I am completely sober.
Happiness and suffering
Bolonath Crystal: do you think there is a big difference between happiness and suffering? or is it maybe the same, only seen under a different aspect?
Calvino Rabeni: That is a good question. The doctrine probably says they are the same, is that true?
Bolonath Crystal: well, different doctrines say different...
Bolonath Crystal: buddha says, everything in life is suffering
Bolonath Crystal: hinduism says, everything is just a game
Bolonath Crystal: christianity says, christians become happy, the others suffer
Calvino Rabeni: :)
Calvino Rabeni: If they could be a bit more generous :)
Bolonath Crystal: would be good for everyone :)
Calvino Rabeni: There is enough for everyone.
Bolonath Crystal: i'm thinking about all these religious wars
Calvino Rabeni: Do you think at core, religions are the same?
--BELL--
Bolonath Crystal: in essence, yes
Calvino Rabeni: Those fighting the wars seem not to be attuned with their religions.
Bolonath Crystal: there is only one absoulte truth (which can be called god), but many ways to attain it. maybe even war can be such a way, i don't know
Calvino Rabeni: Possibly. Maybe 0.001 percent
Bolonath Crystal: sorry, i have to go to work now
Calvino Rabeni: Ok, thanks for hosting
Bolonath Crystal: thanks a lot, calvino, for sharing your time with me :)
Bolonath Crystal: om shanti
Calvino Rabeni: Qyite welcome, bolonath. GOod day.
