The Guardian for this meeting was Eos Amaterasu. The comments are by Eos Amaterasu.

Eos Amaterasu: 90 secs over 90 secs

    --BELL--

    Eos Amaterasu: Hi Eden

    Eden Haiku: Hi Eos.

    Eos Amaterasu: HI Calvino

Calvino Rabeni: Hello - here we are again!

Eos Amaterasu: Hello, I wasn't really here

    Eden Haiku: ;-)

Eos Amaterasu: I got seduced by To Ramona (Bob Dylan, Sinead Lohan)

    Eos Amaterasu: Welcome, friends :-)

    Eden Haiku: Listening to Dylan...

Eos Amaterasu: "Your magnetic movements Still capture the minutes I'm in."

Eos Amaterasu: How's that for an approach to the 90 secs?

Calvino Rabeni: it would work nicely

Eden Haiku: The magnetic movements of avatars...yeah!

Eos Amaterasu: being opens and sings

Eden Haiku: Yesterday, I was dancing at Bombay Social Club and they had a new dance ball with incredibly magnetic movements. It was a lot of fun.

Eos Amaterasu: Dance place in Montreal?

Calvino Rabeni: Is that in SL?

Eden Haiku: No, that is in SL...

    Eos Amaterasu: :-)

Calvino Rabeni: THe future of the medium may be in big-screen TV

Eden Haiku: I love dancing in RL too...;-)

    --BELL--

Calvino Rabeni: IT will help such an experience

Eos Amaterasu: 90 secs inside Bob Dylan, kind of ecstatic :-)

Calvino Rabeni: I was thinking about your avatars,

Eden Haiku: I close de You TUbe screen so I could be serious...it did not work...

Calvino Rabeni: except as if displayed on 64 inch big screen, closer to "actual size"

    Calvino Rabeni: Size matters.

    Calvino Rabeni: :)

Eden Haiku: I kept thinking about the magnetic movements of this Kashmiri man I met in India a few years ago...

Calvino Rabeni: Looking forward to the Project Natal controller - heard of that?

Eden Haiku: No, waht is it?

Calvino Rabeni: I think Eden's question has more eros in it.

    Eos Amaterasu: :-) (to Eden)

    Eos Amaterasu: No (to Calvino)

Calvino Rabeni: :)Could it be your turn?

    Eos Amaterasu: Project Natal?

Eden Haiku: Very curious about Project Natal...

    Calvino Rabeni: OK,

    Calvino Rabeni: ...

Calvino Rabeni: It is a user interface technology from microsoft

Eden Haiku: Feeling trapped Cal? ;-)

Calvino Rabeni: No, just keyboard problems

Calvino Rabeni: I mean, yes by the laptop, no if you meant the dialogue

Calvino Rabeni: The technology tracks the position in space of several humans

    Calvino Rabeni: like yourself

Calvino Rabeni: and also does voice recognition.

    Eos Amaterasu: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_Natal

Calvino Rabeni: So it's a controller where YOU are the controller

Eden Haiku: Technology is wonderful: i was watching a TV program before and reading PaB chat logs on my iPod Touch during publicity.

Calvino Rabeni: Designed for game machine but will no doubt be more widely used

Calvino Rabeni: the demo videos are interesting

Eos Amaterasu: I am my own controller of myself

    Eos Amaterasu: (I think)

Eos Amaterasu: Are we not devo?

Calvino Rabeni: So it dis-inter-mediates the computer

Eos Amaterasu: Yeah, part of our biological being, somewhat amplified and modulated

    Eden Haiku: Sounds far-fetched...

    Eos Amaterasu: semantic motion capture

Calvino Rabeni: I don't quite buy that part of it

Eos Amaterasu: that's what we do, is it not?

Calvino Rabeni: But one person's semantics becomes another's syntax.

Calvino Rabeni: Yes, in a sense

    Eos Amaterasu: progress

Calvino Rabeni: Iwonder if there are any good technology futurists

    Eos Amaterasu: not yet :-)

Calvino Rabeni: Maybe some good imaginations in SF writing ?

Eos Amaterasu: I'm not up to date on SF

    Calvino Rabeni: Nor am I.

Eos Amaterasu: Neal Stephenson went baroque

    Calvino Rabeni: How so?

    Eos Amaterasu: (pre-financial collapse)

Eos Amaterasu: his "Quicksilver " Baroque Cycle

Calvino Rabeni: I don't know it, is it historical?

Eos Amaterasu: quasi... i've only dipped into the very first part.... time of Isaac Newton et al

Eos Amaterasu: Eden, do you have a haiku for 90 seconds?

Eden Haiku: Sure: let me remember one...

    Eden Haiku:

    Pixels sitting still

Our names bright over our heads

    We share our visions

    --BELL--

Eos Amaterasu: Wow, Eden, I went into that 90 seconds with a broad smile

Eos Amaterasu: what a great Haiku! Thank you!

Calvino Rabeni: that was good, eden

Calvino Rabeni: now I will want to hear more

Eden Haiku: Scintillation smile, I'm sure Eos...Eve if I see your back right now...

    Calvino Rabeni: :)

Eden Haiku: Let me get my iPOd, I have a new Apps with notes and I wrote two new ones yesterday... then maybe, we can share our visions? What is your vision Eos? in general. Wide angle!!!

Calvino Rabeni: imagination is allowed - maybe encouraged, among phenomenologists?

Calvino Rabeni: I'll go for the wide angle vision

    Eos Amaterasu: wide angle vision

Eos Amaterasu: that's not afraid of any detail

Eos Amaterasu: the vision is not separate from the detail

Calvino Rabeni: it could wrap around behind you and scoop you up

    Eden Haiku: Greta! Listening Calvino

Eos Amaterasu: yes, so wide-angle it precedes you

Eos Amaterasu: you seeing being seeing

    Eden Haiku:

    Mind clogged by my mess

I decide to clear my desk

    And go for a walk

Eos Amaterasu imagines Eden clearing her desk :-)

    Eden Haiku: Quite a task...

Calvino Rabeni: better not to have one, I think

    Eden Haiku: Good point!

Eos Amaterasu: every detail is limitless phenomenality

    Eos Amaterasu: is wide-angly seeing

    Calvino Rabeni: and fabulous also

Eden Haiku: I like to organize things horizontally, so I have lots of surface covered and my desk is huge!

Calvino Rabeni: My guilty pleasure is the laser printer

    Eden Haiku: Wireless?

Calvino Rabeni: I want to be in bed with the paper, not at the screen

    Calvino Rabeni: Wireless

Calvino Rabeni: I want to take it to the cafe and spill coffee on it

Eos Amaterasu: the medium is the message

    Calvino Rabeni: yes

Eden Haiku: Today, I went to a café to write snail mail beacu

Calvino Rabeni: I want to show my writing a good time on the town

    Eos Amaterasu: snail mail?

Eos Amaterasu: do you leave it behind on the café tables?

Calvino Rabeni: No, it brings home crumbs and stains

    Eos Amaterasu: its own history

Calvino Rabeni: And if I deliver it in person, and put it in someone's hand, it makes quite a different impression (tthan email)

Calvino Rabeni: They like that message.

Eden Haiku: *Snail mail, yes. They have WiFI but I had to send these books overseas and some worker was making noise in my apartment. But it was strange doing snailmail in a café.

Eos Amaterasu: like a black and white picture

    --BELL--

Eos Amaterasu: Any reports from the field?

Eden Haiku: I was having a great experinece of seing balck and white photos, a bunch of them, indistinct, some distinct...

Eos Amaterasu: A friend of mine just had returned to him a pile of negatives of b&w's from the sixties and seventies: vivid, joyful, intense people

Eos Amaterasu: amazing how black and white photography can communicate so strongly, can capture "semantics" :-)

Eden Haiku: And then my boyfriend, who has the knack of sneaking in my study when the bell rings (as he used to sneak in at the last seconds of the X-Files so I missed most of the endings...) ;-) So that kind of ruined it... but I noticed that my desk should be oriented differently. We are still organizing the space here.

Eden Haiku: My back is to the door of the room, which is really upsetting...

Eos Amaterasu: ah... orienting the workspace

Calvino Rabeni: not good feng shui

Eos Amaterasu: Yikes - I would never do that!

Eden Haiku: Not good feng shui...

    Eos Amaterasu: k'an yu

Calvino Rabeni: I have mine optimized

Eden Haiku: But I bought such a wide screen for my new IMac that it seemd the only way to put it. I have to think out of the box and find a better solution...

Eos Amaterasu: harmonizing with the wu wei of the world

Eos Amaterasu has a magic mouse

    Eden Haiku: A mighty mouse?

Eos Amaterasu: a magic mouse : you can do gestures on/with it

Eden Haiku: I thought I saw you smiling! And gesturing yes...I did not dream it! Do it again, please...

    Eos Amaterasu: !?¿!

    Eden Haiku: Shaking your head...

Eden Haiku: Can you wiggle your toes?

    Eden Haiku: Your nose?

Eos Amaterasu: I don't have much control over my avatar

Eden Haiku: I thought you were your own controller ;-)

Eos Amaterasu: that's where the project natal interface would help: reverse motion capture

    Eden Haiku: (enthusiastic applause)

Calvino Rabeni: I made an animation - now I am no longer the complete newbie

    Eos Amaterasu: Cool!

Eden Haiku: Can you show it to us Calvino?

    Calvino Rabeni: SUre, look

    Calvino Rabeni: _/|\_

    Eden Haiku: Beautiful Namasté! Wow!

    Eos Amaterasu: which comes first?

    Eden Haiku: (enthusiastic applause)

    Calvino Rabeni: heh

Calvino Rabeni: Idon't know how to make "flat palms" in SL. That would improve it.

    Calvino Rabeni: Pray hands

Calvino Rabeni: But now I know how they are done

    Calvino Rabeni: animations I mean

Eos Amaterasu: I think a bowing animation would be apropos sometimes

    Eden Haiku: _/!\_

Eden Haiku: I have one I think...Bowing the head...

Eos Amaterasu: like as a way to enter and leave a PaB circle if you didn't want a flurry of hi/byes

    Eos Amaterasu: deeep agreement :-)

Eden Haiku: How abou this Eos...

Eos Amaterasu: let bow to the next moment

    --BELL--

Eos Amaterasu: interesting quality of awareness to bowing

Eden Haiku: So we are back to magnetic movements aren't we?

Eos Amaterasu: aware and acknowledging and letting be

    Eos Amaterasu: heh heh

Calvino Rabeni: Hmm, some one must have a yoga gesture set. Maybe a mudra one

Calvino Rabeni: But, Eos, point well taken

    Eos Amaterasu: I'm sure

Eden Haiku: I have... looking through inventory...

Eden Haiku: Which is a mess...

    Eos Amaterasu: crazy pops!

Eden Haiku: Unfortumately, it is "no copy"...

Eden Haiku: Do you hear when I click?

    Calvino Rabeni: No

Eos Amaterasu: Yes, we can do 90 secs while moving as well, of course

Eos Amaterasu: had my headphones off

Eden Haiku: Birds are chipping Eos...

    Eos Amaterasu: yes

Eos Amaterasu: sometimes they cross the sl/rl boundary

    Eos Amaterasu: :-)

Eos Amaterasu: the sounds at least

Eden Haiku: On voice chat poetry readings, I love hearing the poet's dog or cat...

Calvino Rabeni: DO you have voice arts recommendations in SL?

Eos Amaterasu: I need to call it a night, Eden and Calvino (changes the environment setting ... "-)

Eden Haiku: Once, I was so immersed in SL I suddenly realized the cat miawing (not sure if this is an English verb) was my very own RL cat who wanted to be let inside. ;-) Yes, the Blue Angel place on Sundays at 5 SLT is very good. Sending you the landmark Cal,

Calvino Rabeni: SO long, Eos then

    Eos Amaterasu: Ciao!

    Calvino Rabeni: thanks!

Eden Haiku: Bowing to you master Eos.
