Gaya Ethaniel: I'd say feeling superior as a result of giving doesn't just come from the givier. I'm sure the receiver contributes to that effect.

Archmage Atlantis: I know it's semantics, but for me a gift comes free of expectations on the part of the giver, whether that is with obligation to repay, or obligation to use in a certain way, or even an obligation to use or keep.......anything else is a form of loan
