Fefonz recounted his tale and I had to spend a few moments checking whether all was OK.

Fefonz Quan: lately didn't do it in regular times, since i was on the move the last days.
Fefonz Quan: yet i practice it arbitrarily while sitting in coffee-shops, at the car etc.
Storm Nordwind: nods understandingly
Storm Nordwind: Anything interesting to share?
Fefonz Quan: and also i tried it yesterday feeling a little sick
Fefonz Quan: it gave some feeling of detachment

Storm Nordwind: You think the feeling of sickness and the feeling of detachment were linked?
Fefonz Quan: i'm not sure,
Fefonz Quan: what i've noticed is that while the regular practice tends to be calming/relaxing
Fefonz Quan: and sometimes even a little uplifting
Fefonz Quan: then when there is some physical shape
Fefonz Quan: which is very evident, the experience takes a different form

Storm Nordwind: I have personally not come across that before. I wonder if anyone else has?

Fefonz Quan: it feels like a different realm of sensations

Fefonz Quan: almost like a different sense thatn the regular five

Storm Nordwind: It would seem that you might find the sick feeling rather a disincentive though, would I be right?

Pila Mulligan: disincentive = something that makes you not want to do something

Fefonz Quan: but when we consider the internal level of practicing the PaB
Fefonz Quan: i didn't feel it encourage me to stop my observation

Fefonz Quan: without the need to react on the outer world, which seemed more energy-taking
Fefonz Quan: (like talking to people, etc.)

Storm Nordwind: Have you ever done any kind of meditation practice before PaB Fefonz?
Fefonz Quan: yes, for some years now
Fefonz Quan: mostly vipasana kind (not guanka though)

Storm Nordwind: Only to see whether you were familiar with the different sensations that can happen
Storm Nordwind: For example, I used to teach a particular kind of meditation...
Storm Nordwind: and after a certain length of time...
Storm Nordwind: I had to teach students a particular technique to stop otherwise unpleasant side effects developing
Fefonz Quan: which kinds of side effects?

The International Spaceflight Museum (ISM) has been one of the more
successful and long-running collaborative projects in Second Life. Kat
Lemieux, one of the founders and presently President/CEO of the
nonprofit corporation begun in RL to support this SL organization,
leads a discussion on the philosophy underlying the strengths and
weaknesses of the ISM Planning Group, the people who built and operate
the ISM.
