Becka Finesmith: oooh - What a good ideaMost people should already know that the yellow bear av referred to is Moon.
Riddle Sideways: I stay up far too late playing rock n roll
Becka Finesmith gave you Rainbow Cupcake.

Becka Finesmith enjoys the warm, straight from the oven Rainbow Cupcake, yummy !
Becka Finesmith: I think it was Gaya who originally gave me those :)
Gaya Ethaniel takes another bite of the Rainbow Cupcake.
Riddle Sideways takes another bite of the Rainbow Cupcake.
Becka Finesmith takes another bite of the Rainbow Cupcake.
Gaya Ethaniel: These mostly come from the bear you know... the yellow one ^^
Riddle Sideways: makes your insides full of rainbows
Gaya Ethaniel: ^____^
Gaya Ethaniel takes the last nibble of the Rainbow Cupcake and wipes away any crumbs from their lips.
Riddle Sideways takes the last nibble of the Rainbow Cupcake and wipes away any crumbs from their lips.
Becka Finesmith: THe bear is full of surprises :)
Becka Finesmith takes the last nibble of the Rainbow Cupcake and wipes away any crumbs from their lips.Gaya is going to retreat.
Becka Finesmith: yum
Becka Finesmith: I seem to be floating now
Gaya Ethaniel: ^^
Riddle Sideways: sometimes when your happy, ya just have to float
Gaya Ethaniel: ^^
Riddle Sideways: that bear sometimes appears as a monk
Becka Finesmith: Gaya - Did I read you are off on a retreat?
Gaya Ethaniel: Cross dressing XD
Gaya Ethaniel: Yes I am ^^
Becka Finesmith: Cool
Riddle Sideways: oooo where/what
Becka Finesmith: Spill the beans
Gaya Ethaniel: It's a monastery near Newcastle where my teacher is [he's currently away]Wol joins us.
Becka Finesmith: canyou wear winter woollys!
Becka Finesmith: It will be cold ;)
Gaya Ethaniel: Not sure who else [lay people] may be there... but I'm guessing there would be mostly monks
Riddle Sideways: can you be on a computer
Gaya Ethaniel: heheheh not sure but I won't be
Riddle Sideways: how long
Gaya Ethaniel: 4 days ^^
Riddle Sideways: ah
Gaya Ethaniel: Hope they go easy on 'works'
Riddle Sideways: seems one makes the most advances by retreating
Gaya Ethaniel: Not sure if I'm up for farming activities
Riddle Sideways: farming?
Gaya Ethaniel: oh you think so Riddle?
Becka Finesmith: Sounds a long step from day to day which is nice
Gaya Ethaniel: Well, the monastic schedule includes 'working' in addtion to meditations
Riddle Sideways: Hi Wol
Gaya Ethaniel: Hey Wol ^^Gaya is persistant.
Wol Euler: hello gaya, riddle, becka
Becka Finesmith: Hi Wol :)
Gaya Ethaniel: Can you tell us about your retreats Riddle?
Riddle Sideways: long time no seeing
Wol Euler: but lots of being :)
Riddle Sideways: :)
Becka Finesmith: Your hair looks nice :) You changed it
Riddle Sideways: hmmmmm many retreats...
Gaya Ethaniel: Very cute ^^
Wol Euler: 7me smiles. thanks! I wanted something a bit extravagant
Wol Euler: and only $10 too!
Becka Finesmith: woooot
Becka Finesmith: We have the same colour :)
Gaya Ethaniel: How many?
Gaya Ethaniel: How many Riddle?*
Becka Finesmith: Thank you :)
Riddle Sideways: ummmmm, hard question, can'tremember nor count
Wol Euler: wow.
Becka Finesmith: Next years if it comes off will be my first
Wol Euler: the PaB retreat?
Becka Finesmith: yes
Gaya Ethaniel: What kind of 'advances' did you make from retreats then Riddle?
Gaya Ethaniel: ^^
Riddle Sideways: when the day-to-day multitude of choas is set aside
Riddle Sideways: as in a retreat
Riddle Sideways: some important point/path gets advanced
Riddle Sideways: past what it could have
Riddle Sideways: just re-newing a peaceful attitude is a great advance
Gaya Ethaniel nods
Becka Finesmith: Does it take you long to settle into it?
Riddle Sideways: no
Becka Finesmith: switch off day stuff?
Riddle Sideways: that part seems very fast
Riddle Sideways: an hour
Riddle Sideways: often very hard to come back
Becka Finesmith: Nce - and how about bottong back up again at the end?
Becka Finesmith: you anticpated my next question ;)
Riddle Sideways: might take days to get back to dayly functioning
Wol Euler: gaya, didn't you say that you were going on a retreat this week/end?
Becka Finesmith: And was it like that on your first retreat or do you now have a routine?
Riddle Sideways: once we went a week without talking
Wol Euler: wow!
Riddle Sideways: took forever to form sentences again
Gaya Ethaniel: Sometimes it is a relief not to talk...
Becka Finesmith nods
Riddle Sideways: yes, it was easy to stop talking
OK another silly analogy comes to me now. Going to and coming back from retreats are like drinking parties. Easy to start being happy and full of party at first cocktail. Hard time the next day trying to function with the hang over.
I am explaining this because most of you do not know about such experiences.
What I really wanted to talk about was "How are you?".
Riddle Sideways: harder to get back to the place that you could answer "How are you?"Yes, that would be better. Just say 'hello'. Unless you desire to have more conversation then ask "How are you?".
Riddle Sideways: most day-to-day people don't understand how hard it is to answer"how are you?"
Gaya Ethaniel nods nods
Riddle Sideways: besides, they don't really want the answer
Wol Euler: mmhmm
Riddle Sideways: why do they ask?
Becka Finesmith: I was going to say that
Becka Finesmith: people walk away before you have a chance to say anything most of the time
Gaya Ethaniel: Just being polite I guess... mostly I hope for a 'longer' answer but
Becka Finesmith: I think it's just a habit people get into
Riddle Sideways: funny, how they start to be friendly but end up being rude
Gaya Ethaniel: But then... they are truly 'fine'... can't tell
Gaya Ethaniel: Rude?
Riddle Sideways: Rude=walking away before an answer
Gaya Ethaniel: ah... that
Wol Euler: a different expectation, I think for many people it's nothing more than an elegant grunt.
Wol Euler: and don't expect more than that in reply.
Gaya Ethaniel nods
Riddle Sideways: true
Wol Euler: *they don't ...
Gaya Ethaniel: Well, I'm not in the habit of asking 'How are you?'
Gaya Ethaniel: Unless I want to know heheheh
Riddle Sideways: they should probably just grunt then
Wol Euler: ah but htat would be rude! :)
Becka Finesmith: I must admit I fall into the trap of using it as a nicery sometimes
Becka Finesmith: Nicety
Becka Finesmith: Now I'm aware, I will stop
Gaya Ethaniel: And some people think of me rude... because I end at 'hello'
Wol Euler: I notied when I lived in England, that many people say it twice. Here is the most amazing metaphor that I have heard in a long time.
Gaya Ethaniel: Can't please all...
Gaya Ethaniel: Twice?...
Wol Euler: the first time is a grunt, you grunt back. If they're really interested they ask again expecting a fulsome answer
Becka Finesmith: Perhaps saying it twice is like a double click ;)Crusty enters.
Wol Euler: !
Gaya Ethaniel: ^^
Gaya Ethaniel: Double click to open up hey
Riddle Sideways: good morning, Crusty
Wol Euler: exactly!
Becka Finesmith: Just in case it fifn't work the first time :)
Gaya Ethaniel: Hey Crusty ^^My turn to be persistant.
Wol Euler: hello crusty
Becka Finesmith: Hello Crusty
Riddle Sideways: I like that, double click to open
Gaya Ethaniel smiles
Riddle Sideways: double intro to open
Gaya Ethaniel: ^^
Crusty Goldshark: Hi guys
Riddle Sideways: Hi Crusty... How are you...
Gaya Ethaniel: mm... think I elongate logs by too many smilies...
Crusty Goldshark: . . . just getting plastered
Becka Finesmith: Hows it looking?
Becka Finesmith: :p
Wol Euler: a bad fracture?
Riddle Sideways: home repairs?
Becka Finesmith: It has so many meanings
Crusty Goldshark: doing a bit of plastering in front of a coal burning stove
Becka Finesmith: So trowel in one hand and mouse in the other
quen Oh is Offline
Crusty Goldshark: I have thrown in the trowel
Riddle Sideways: try to remember which is which
Becka Finesmith: teehee
Crusty Goldshark: sure the mouse is used to plaster in the cracks
Riddle Sideways was waiting to hear "how" you areWell, there is the "fine" answer again. Now, we all know that Crusty truely is 'fine', but we'll need to investigate (push) to be sure.
Crusty Goldshark: . . . wait a minute - what happened to my mouse - brb
Gaya Ethaniel: A long answer it seems Riddle
Gaya Ethaniel: [May have to wait a bit]
Crusty Goldshark: fine
Crusty Goldshark: :)Yes, is an glimpse into how we all are doing.
Gaya Ethaniel: ^^ no it was a short one
Riddle Sideways: seems (as usual) that it becomes what someone is doing
Gaya Ethaniel: How are you Crusty? [double click]
Riddle Sideways: rather then how they are feeling
Crusty Goldshark: You are what you eat? Or plaster?
Crusty Goldshark: Feel fine
Becka Finesmith: Eeeep - I am a salad sandwich
Crusty Goldshark: :)
Riddle Sideways: hmmmm, so you covering over your cracks?
Wol Euler is about to be chicken schnitzel, cauliflower and cheese, and rice
Becka Finesmith: Hope that's dinner Wol :p
Crusty Goldshark: No I am creating a solid base - I am plastering the floor
Wol Euler: a late lunch :(
Gaya Ethaniel just had sliced rice cake soup
Becka Finesmith: even better
Riddle Sideways: wow, what a combo
Wol Euler: something for all tastes :)
Becka Finesmith: Wow ! I feel a bit plain now with my salad sarny
Riddle Sideways: chicken and cheese ok together?
Wol Euler: but who's got dessert?
Crusty Goldshark: I had a beer for breakfast - a rare occurrence
Becka Finesmith: ewww
Wol Euler: sure, riddle, at least for me.
Becka Finesmith: Could have been worse. It could have been on cornflake
Crusty Goldshark: LOL I needed the yeast perhaps . . .
Gaya Ethaniel giggles
Riddle Sideways: :)
Riddle Sideways: a beer and plastered
Becka Finesmith: SOunds like my builder
Riddle Sideways: we are getting the picture of how crusty is
Becka Finesmith: plastered in more ways then one...
Crusty Goldshark: yes I had less then a pint on an empty stomach I noticed the effect - not something I do very often but occasionally have wine for breakfast
Gaya Ethaniel: Save money that way no? Not much amount required
Crusty Goldshark: What is the strangest thing others have for brekkie?
Riddle Sideways: call me old fashion, but I put milk on my cornflakes
Crusty Goldshark: I often like to start the day with a curry
Wol Euler is reminded of the old joke o the farmer and the madman...
Becka Finesmith: I had curry once for breakfast
Crusty Goldshark: Yes Wol?
Becka Finesmith: But only because my friend insisted
Wol Euler: Madman sees farmer taking a trailerload of manure down the road, asks "where are you going wiht that?"
Gaya Ethaniel: Funnily I was brought up to have big breakfast and small dinner... which is the opposite to many people I think
Wol Euler: Farmer answers "I put it on my strawberries"
Wol Euler: Madman says "That must be why I'm in here then, I put cream on mne"
Crusty Goldshark: [awaiting puchline]
Becka Finesmith: boomboom
Crusty Goldshark: :)
Riddle Sideways: ba da boom
Gaya Ethaniel frowns... some pls IM to explain... don't get it...
Crusty Goldshark: Yes I normally finish the day with light meal - sometimes just a moonbeam . . .
Gaya Ethaniel: [That's why I am in here... this bit]
Becka Finesmith: Manure on growing strawberris to make them grow better
Becka Finesmith: But cream on strawberries to eat them
Gaya Ethaniel: Know those two points...
Wol Euler: ah, I left out that the farmer is driving past the lunatic asylum :( sorry
Wol Euler: ah well.
Gaya Ethaniel: ah makes sense now
Becka Finesmith: where? <Becka looks around>
Wol Euler shuts up.
Crusty Goldshark: Well I thought it was funny
Becka Finesmith: me too
Becka Finesmith: I have to get back to work :)Nice to see eberyone
Riddle Sideways: verbally, if you have to explain... it loses the funnyEverybody else leaves. Then Moon enters.
Gaya Ethaniel: _/!\_
Wol Euler: mmhmm, true.
Wol Euler: bye becka, take care
Becka Finesmith: namaste
Riddle Sideways: in chat it sometimes gets funnier
Crusty Goldshark: The Aghori saddhaus . . . bye becka

Wol Euler: I will have to leave too, lunch/dinner is ready.
Gaya Ethaniel: _/!\_
Wol Euler: take care all, enjoy your days.
Riddle Sideways: bye, enjoy
Crusty Goldshark: . . .. the aghori sadhus put manure on their food - they try and confuse the senses
Crusty Goldshark: Strange bunch - hang out in creamation grounds . . .
Gaya Ethaniel: mm... what is aghori sadhus? You mean Sadhus, holy men in India?
Crusty Goldshark: Yes - sort of Holy and feared - more like sorcerers - very secretive
Gaya Ethaniel nods... seen some interesting photos of them...
Crusty Goldshark: ;)
Gaya Ethaniel: On that note, I must take my leave ^^ enjoy your day both
